you also dont have to do a round house to the head, it can be lower and still be a round house

In my opinion, head kicks are the safest kicks
Leg kicks, you can eat a knee on your foot/shin
Body kicks, you can eat an elbow on your foot/shin
On a headkick, you'll either hit glove or skull if you hit something. But I did eat an elbow ocne by a guy who spazzed out.

I prefer kicks to the head. As you say, catching an elbow or knee to the foot/shin wrecks big time.
There's also the fact that if you are going to do a high comitment move, you might aswell make the effect worth the risk. Kicks to the leg do ******** all, body has reasonable effect and head is instant lights out (done correctly). Imo
