Irelia shrieked as the man came towards her.
"LET.ME.INNNNNNNN!!!!!" It looked like soooo much fun to Irelia, who loved to bump in to things, which was usually her dad. Or corners of tables.
Irelia examined the ball, keeping one eye on Harper. He looked like he was having fun, and Irelia was DETERMINED to have more fun.
"INNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!" Irelia screamed the word, elongating it to such an extent that Asher winced.
"Sorry. She has lungs on her," Asher witnessed her kicking the balls with her hoofs, "Actually, you're probably right about safety. She's a terror outside of the balls, I'm sure she'll find a way to be a terror inside as well."
As Irelia let out another shriek, Asher sighed.
"I hope that the balls are somewhat soundproof as well."

Devakanya jolted as Harper screamed his protest, thoroughly alarmed. Why would she want to play with such a scary, loud boy? She tightened her grip on Shade. She glanced at Shade, nodding slowly. Right. It was only play if it was fun, and getting hunted was not fun.

Harper let out a loud sigh. He passed a look at Irelia when she was making such a commotion and stared at her for a few seconds, briefly considering trying to scream louder just to prove a point but decided not to waste his time in the end.
"Fine. No play then. Meanie." Harper accused of both Shade and Dev. Getting that impish look on his face again, he examined Shade's legs and as quickly as before went rolling toward them with the intention of basically running Shade down.

Shade nodded, taking Deva over to Xi. "So she can get in one?" he asked, motioning to Irelia.

Devakanya's attention was stolen by the screaming child, watching in complete horror as she yowled and screeched. She'd never heard anything so loud in her entire life! Even louder than the firetrucks that came to their house that one time when Zack got caught on fire. (Osha said this happened often.) She would've kept staring if Harper hadn't spoken to her.
...mean? Her eyes went wide and she chewed her lip. She didn't want to be mean! She wasn't mean! No! She flailed a little, insisting Shade put her down. She would play. But, not Harper's scary way, please.

Shade blinked, then put her down. "What's the matter, sweet?"

Apparently the little brat had no intention of stopping his charge despite that Devi was now on the ground and unshielded by a ball. All the more fun, he thought, he would surely rouse a response that way, right? He grinned and kept going, but all too quickly he was interrupted.
Eliot, one of Harper's many idiot guardians, found his way into the 'PE' room after searching for his kid awhile. Examining what was going on for about two seconds he called out Harper's name in time to revert his attention. Harper, a bit surprised, stopped 'charging' the ball and ended up flying in another direction when he had looked to where his name had been called.
"Dude! That's awesome!" He exclaimed to no one in particular, and began giggling in a way not befitting a large muscular man such as himself.

((I am going to assume Irelia has been placed in one of the balls. Because otherwise I think she might spontaneously combust))
Irelia narrowed her eyes, looking for a target. Her view was slightly skewed by the somewhat opaque-ness of the rubber, but she could see well enough that she spotted Harper.
"ROWR." She yelled happily, and started to roll her ball. Or try to. Irelia, forgetting that she was still very tiny, hardly moved the ball an inch.
"NOOOOO." She screamed menacingly. Without her book (daddy made her leave it at home) she couldn't ask the secret of making her ball move.
With furious intent, irelia began to throw herself around her ball, trying desperately to make it move, but all it did was wobble about.
Irelia's face was a horrible purple colour, and she looked about to explode.

Shade picked up the little girl again, about to stop the ball from rolling when the boy stopped abruptly. He glanced over at the new adult curiously. "Hey, mind telling me who you are?" he asked.

She was up, Shade put her down, Harper tried to kill her and she was up again. The whole situation was finally too much for her. The girl was screaming. The crazy boy continued to be a psycho meanie. The teacher continued to do absolutely nothing to stop the mayhem. And so, all other ideas drained, Devakanya curled up in Shade's arms and started to cry. She wanted to go home. She really wanted to go home.

Eliot, too caught up in giggling and grinning at Harper to do much else, finally noticed Shade a moment later. "Aw, why'dja have to pick her up? Not like anything would of happened, girl seems to need some toughening up if you ask m- huh? Oh. I'm Harper's mother's lover. Picking the brat up. For this, though, I think he can stay awhile..."
"Elioooooot!" Harper cooed. He was entirely taken with giggling at the man in a sort of unspoken communication between the two that would of gone something like, 'hey dude, look, i'm in a giant ball!'
Then he noticed Irelia. He seemed startled at the sudden reversal of roles, even if she wasn't making too much progress, but soon he was rearing to go charging again. He glanced at Devi once and said, "Stop crying!" before charging toward Irelia's ball at 'full' painfully slow speed.

"Okay, that's it, playtime is over," Xi said calmly, rustling around in one pocket before he pulled out a whistle; then he looked at it in consternation, realising that no way on earth could he ever use it with his... mouth problem. "Damnit. Where's Evan when he needs to blow me?"

Shade choked, looking away as he did so, so no one would notice he was about to laugh his tail off.
"FATHER!" Antony bellowed from the doorway of the gym, wearing his school gym clothes of blue shorts and white T-shirt. "What on earth do you think you're doing?" he demanded as he marched over to glare up at him. Then he noticed Devi was crying and reached for her. "Poor little princess, did they scare you?"

Before anything else could happen, a sudden voice - calm and cheerful as a sugar-coated bunny and with twice the authority and command that any of them had ever heard - broke the mayhem.
Red light says stop. Red light says quiet. Red light says...
The voice suddenly left their collective heads and a slight young man stood at the doorway, arms crossed over his chest. It would take someone who knew Evan Luck really, really well to see how furious he was. His green eyes swept the room and he finished, aloud, "There's ice cream in the playroom for every good little boy and girl."
Then his arms came away and he reached out wide to invite hugs all around. "C'mon, sprouts." The look he shot Shade was about 10 degrees below freezing but the smiles for the kids were as balmy as Florida sunshine.

Xi held his arms out to Antony to receive Devi; stuffing the whistle back into one pocket of his loud Hawaiian shirt. "Wow," he said, totally and absolutely unruffled by any of the above happenings. "Evan's aggro. This is going to be a fun afternoon. Catch you later, Mister P.E teacher. - Thanks, kid, Dev's a little fragile."
