"Heh, it sounds relaxing! I will have to scope that area out." It also sounded like the perfect water to use as a mirror for himself.. he really needed to look into deserts now.. especially if their water was crystal clear. Ariston was seriously getting sick of the nasty lake water. He needed a new gazing spot anyhow.
"Hm, from what I can remember I have lived her for awhile actually." Was he really that old??! "I just stick to my routine areas, ya know, probably for comforts sake." And for people watching.. or people watching him? "I am easy in that sense."
"Once I get comfortable somewhere, it is hard to move me away. My friends find it convenient because I am always around, so at least its not a boring life, right?" He had to keep his friends close, and his enemies closer! Or.. however that phrase went. "Tis a simple life for me.." well, only to others he supposed.
"So I find it is much different then yours. Since you are more into the exploring aspect, correct.?" He grinned, happy to hear her imput. She had already talked about her wandering habit so, he found it intriguing that she felt differently.

"I suppose it would be convenient."
Sparkles travelled a lot and she made many friends but that didn't mean that she found them easy to find again. Perhaps it was better then, to refer to them as acquaintances? She would rather not given that it sounded so formal and business like - those she met and favoured were her friends, that was all there was to it!
Even if she didn't see them again for a long time...
"You're right though, we have very different outlooks on life. Your simple pleasures are definitely not like mine at all!" Perhaps his simple pleasures were a little too simple for her, she liked her reflection but just couldn't stare at it all day. It seemed he really was the sin of vanity in the form of a soquili...her herd would never believe her when she went home and informed them of this!
"So I'm assuming you never really break out of your routine and try new things then, doesn't that limit you a little in what you can enjoy and experience?"

"No, not at all." he answered, swiftly. "I am my biggest enjoyment, what else could I possibly ask for?" He may have had a smile on his face, but he was completely serious with his words. "I don't need anything in my life besides my beauty, since my perfection is such a wonderful thing. I will be overly content with myself forever."
He wondered if that seemed odd to her, since well to him he was better then everything!
"I must be a broken record at this point, talking about myself like that. But, I find it important to explain my ways." He chuckled for a moment, bringing his cool eyes on her. "But isn't everyone born with little pleasures and hobbies that they enjoy? From all over this land, I have seen so many different Soquili with their different ways.. It is sort of intriguing." Heh, and it made everyone a bit different from each other!

As he explained the smile vanished from her equine lips and she looked just a little troubled. While he may have enjoyed what he did, it really did confirm that he was vanity embodied and she felt what seemed to be pity for him. Canting her head to the side ever so slightly, she kept her pink eyes fixed on him for quite some time before looking away.
She would find that existence to be a lonely one.
"Well, I am sure that is very nice for you," She mused after a few moments, her tone uncertain. While he probably couldn't understand, she doubted he would ever fully experience or appreciate) love or true companionship for the simple reason that he was unconcerned with it...deemed it unimportant. Is that what the elders meant when they declared the 'king' to be surrounded by sycophants with no true friend?
"If a little lonely to me," She finished softly, coiling her tail around her leg as she lifted her gaze once more. "But as my father says, to each their own...yes?"

The fact that she was unimpressed made Ariston lower his own smile, though he remained composed as well. "As I said, we are all made different for a reason. Its our own adventures I suppose." He expected her main reaction anyhow, so he only peered about at the landscape while ignoring some of his beauty-filled thoughts. Doubt rarely trailed into his mind, so he as felt gleeful as ever!
Well.. maybe others found the comfort in others that they needed, where he found the comfort in himself as plentiful? Just thinking about it gave him a headache, and looked at her carefully with lowered brows.
"It is obvious that I am strange to you, but ah well, I get that a lot." It would be boring to always see things the way everyone else did, though that would be impossible since his mind always told him it they were wrong!
Since he and Sparkles did have mixed views on various issues, he pondered where else their discussion would head. It was true that he had gone from impressive, to not so impressive in a matter of words, so he frowned at the thought of her contemplating him more. "I believe I shall take my leave soon, I am afraid I have some errands to do." He grinned at her brightly, realizing time had flown by anyways.

"Soquili wouldn't be interesting if they all had the same hobbies and views as me, Ariston." Sparks pointed out, a small smile lining her lips as she watched his expression falter. She sincerely doubted this had anything to do with some internal struggle or sudden awareness and rather she could safely assume it had something to do with how much she disagreed. She was no mind reader but sometimes she really wished she was for the sake of argument...then she would know when to stop talking!
...That being said, she supposed she had places to go herself. While she didn't know the exact details she did have to meet with her companion by the lakes to discuss their latest plans together. Throughout the last few days she and her otter companion had been plotting.
She was going to take over the world!
"Well Ariston, given how late it is I should think that both of us have a few errands to catch up on. I must say you certainly are one of the rare few who have kept me standing for such a large amount of time!" Her tone returned to normal, the enthusiasm easily heard in the soft lilt of her words.
"Perhaps it was your dazzling personality, I never did ask you how you tended to your hair so well."

Ah, his hair again? He chuckled playfully, and took a large flip to get it out of his way. "Sometimes I think my hair just has its own personality, so it strives by itself. But, the upkeep part.. really no secret at all, I am just neat and careful." With a slight wink, he undid his wings and stretched casually. He hadn't moved his body in awhile, and it felt good to so.
"Well, it was a pleasure Sparkles dear. I hope you have a nice rest of the day." he bowed kindly, and looked at her smiling. "Until we meet next time!"
And with that, Ariston strode a few paces forward, before flapping his wings and shooting into the air. The breeze felt nice, and he picked up speed until he was at a comfortable height, and he was soaring above the land in no time.
