"Come on," Manny said excitedly, nearly sprinting to the other end of the apartment where the door to her room stood ajar. She flung it all the way open and leapt a short distance onto her four poster bed, then yelled, "Tada!" The walls were painted a deep gold flecked with bronze, and the wood floors were nearly covered by a matching rug. Her bedspread was the same, the inspiration for the rest of the room. "What do you think?" she asked, turning back toward the door to get an answer from Riley.

"Wow, it's painted!" Riley exclaimed, obviously impressed by Manny's little slice of heave. Her room was still as boring as ever, since it hadn't been hers for very long. And it very very messy, unlike Manny's room which was so clean she wasn't sure that she even slept there. It's a good thing Riley had very little faith in her own sense of style, less she might have been ashamed of how her place was. "And your beg is huge!" She jumped up next to her friend, feeling the bounce as she hit the matress.

"Mmhm," she said, "It took us a few days to do it." Ah her bed, it was her favorite thing in the room, with its plush feathertop mattress pad and plethora of pillows. That gave her a thought. Maybe Mama would let Riley stay over? There was certainly room for her here. She grabbed hold of her ankles as she sat indian style, grinning happily. "I'm going to put curtains up on the sides eventually," she added, "But not yet cause sometimes I like to look out the window at the moon."

Riley chose to sprawl out instead. She just had to soak in the feeling of such a big bed...! Her's was small, after all. It had enough room for her, sure, but Manny's was just amazing! "Curtains?" she grinned. Yes, she could see Manny having long curtains in her room...thinking of it in her own house nearly got her giggling though, "I'd probably trip over them if I had 'em." Besides, she didn't like lacey, flowey things. But...she had decided it was ok for Manny to like them. Manny always seemed happier with such things and that was all that mattered.

Manny couldn't help but laugh at the thought of Riley tripping and getting herself all tangled up in a set of curtains. "Yeah, I kind of want them because they keep the room dark," she admitted, "And I like to sleep in." Mama Estelle had this rule about being up before 11:00am, but sometimes that was a little rough when you stayed up all night watching the city. "Oh! Do you think your brother would let you stay here tonight?" she asked excitedly, thinking that maybe if she stayed she could show her that too.

"Ah! That makes sense," Riley agreed, never having thought of it that way before. She prefered to sleep in the dark too but...she could sleep anywhere. When she crashed, she was out and wouldn't be up for a long while. So depending on when her body shut her off completely she could wake up normally or late. There was no sense trying to force her awake, because she slept like a log and ignored the outside world.
Riley lifted her head slightly at the suggestion, a gleam of excitement in her eyes. "Of course!" she said with excited confidence, that really had no founding. She didn't know what her brother would say. But this was Kai and...he was easy to convince when it came to things she wanted.

"Yay!" Manny shouted, throwing her hands up in the air. Mama Estelle wouldn't have a problem with it, she had already decided that she liked Riley. Now thinking that they'd have more time to hang out Manny hopped down off her bed and struck a pose in front of her closet, "Want to see what I've been working on?" Well, with Antony's help.

Working on? Riley gave Manny a blank stare, making her confusion obvious. What could Manny be working on, exactly...? She didn't have a clue, but she certainly wanted to know! Letting her curiousity take over she grinned, tilting her head to the side slightly as she sat up, crossing her legs. "Sure!" Her imagination ran away with itself, musing over the posible secrets within her friend's closet.

Grinning, Manny thew open her closet doors, revealing a wardrobe marked with pictures and notes and all kinds of symbols, "Ta da!" Ok maybe it wasn't ta da worthy, but she'd put a lot of work into putting all this stuff together, and the little three way mirror in the middle had been really hard for them to put in, so she was maybe a little proud of it.

Riley blinked, looking at the closet with some confusion and determination. But no matter how much she looked she couldn't figure out what it was exactly that Manny had worked on. So she paused, furrowing her brows for a moment as her "ears" twitched in thought. Then she came to the only possible conclusion that fit. And it still was a bit odd, at least to her. "You made all those clothes?" she asked, a little bit of wonder in her voice. She didn't like fussing with clothes or anything but she had never really thought about how they were made.

"What?" Manny asked, looking back at her closet. Well, no she didn't make them. But she made the outfits. "No, I bought them," she explained, "But I altered some of them and made them into outfits I like." Riley wasn't really one for fashion now that she remembered, she was more into physical stuff and running around. But that was ok too, just maybe it meant she wasn't the best person to appreciate the closet.

"Oh," Riley said, the look of awe slipping way. She was never good about hiding her feelings. She didn't even really know how to try yet. It meant she'd always be honest, but...in some situations stretching the truth might be better. Oh well. "That's...neat," she said hesitently, looking extremely confused. Manny saw outfits and assortments of color. Riley saw...clothes. That was about it. She was still trying to puzzle through exactly what Manny had explained to her by the look of things.

Egh... That wasn't going so well. "Um, so do you like them?" she asked, reaching to pick two of the hangers up off the rod. Sure it wasn't that hard to put some outfits together, but she'd paid a lot of attention to colors and cuts and some of them would even look good on Riley. "I mean if you don't we can watch a movie or something," she offered, trying to remember all the stuff she knew about sleepovers.

Riley paused, wrinkling her nose a little in concentration. While she was impulsive, she was also stubborn. When faced with a challenge, such as figuring out exactly what was so exciting about her friend's closet, she wasn't about to back down. She jutted out her lower lip, jaw set firmly as she examined some of the outfit sets that Manny had. She stood up to go over and stand beside Manny, pulling out one set with a look of curiousity. This one, like some of them, didn't have a skirt or anything lacey. "Mm...." She tugged on the jacket of one pair, "...This is...kinda cool..." For clothes anyway.
