Kay flew through the sky, closing in on her destination. She decided to check her assignment parchment when she was practically a mile away from the retirement home. She nearly dropped it when she discovered that her assigned souls for the day virtually doubled. "What the heck!? What's going on here?! Why am I guiding so many souls today?" Kay stuffed the magical parchment back into her belt pouch, and a sinking feeling grew in her stomach. "Something is not right here. My parchment has never been updated with so many new souls before, because heaven rarely makes that many mistakes. No... I believe someone is committing a foul deed. I better hurry!" Kay flailed her wings faster than she had ever done so before. She prayed that she wasn't to late to save those poor souls.

Tai sensed a holy pressence coming towards him. So he decided to clean up. The souls that is. He quickly opened the gateway to hell and began dragging the souls downward by in groups of two.
"I'd better hurry," he began, "Or else that angel will bypass me and hed straight for the left over souls."

Kay landed somewhat gracefully in front of the old retirement building. The presence of a demonic being was easy to detect, and Kay dashed through the front doors. She frantically searched the halls, looking for the foul demon that was most likely stealing innocent souls. Finally, she found the demon pulling and shoving the elderly souls into a gateway that lead straight to hell. "STOP!" Kay screamed, and she drew her sword getting ready for an attack.

Tai whirled around to see an angel draw her sword. He glared, hatefully, knowing he had to close to gateway to hell. He did so, and then drew his own sword((if he's even allowed to have one, if not, please let me know so I can change the post.)), a black katana, and held it into a defensive position.
"Well, well," he began, "You sure are earlier than I had expected."

((Yeah, demons are allowed to have weapons.))
Emmett stood up and pulled up the necklace tucked away under his shirt. The jewel was pulsing frantically, "What the hell is it a masacre or what?" he murmured. He checked his watch and stood up on the grassy river bank, wiping off the the stray green blades that clung to his black pants. "I'd better be heading back anyway." He droned in the same voice that always came from his mouth when he spoke. He walked up the hillside and up onto the side of the road where he had parked and headed off down the road heading back into town.

Kay gritted her teeth when she saw the portal to hell close, leaving the elderly souls lost in hell forever. There were only two soul who hadn't been stolen from her. Perhaps she could save them, but first she would need to take care of the demon. "How dare you take those souls without proper judgment! I will not allow you to take anymore!" She stood between the demon and the remaining souls, who were frantically crawling away from the frightening demon. "Touch them and I will cut your hand off!" Kay tried to back up her words by standing tall and unafraid, but she knew her short sword didn't seem as aesthetically powerful compared to the katana. She prayed that her average fighting skills and protective barriers would be enough to save the last of the souls, or at least allow her to hold out long enough for help to arrive.

Shina sat quietly next to her boyfriend's hospitial bed. Examing him as he layed in coma. His parents were on the other side of him, crying their eyes out. Not that she blammed them, the doctor did say that he would never come out of it. She stood up to leave as his parents did too. She walked to the door with them following close behind and when she at the door she stopped to take one finale glance at her beloved, his parents did not. Instead, they walked right through her and continued on their way. She was dead, the car hit her and killed her instantly. She had been dead for a few days now, spending countless time watching over everyone she cared for in the spirit world.

Tai charged towards the angel, the katana held so that the blade was ehind him as he charged. In an attempt to fool Kay, Tai straifed left and right as he ran. Once he had gotten within ten feet of her, though, he lept, still moving forward due to momentum, and raised his katana, swinging it as he came closer.

Emmett parked outside the building at which the Pendant nearly bounded from his neck towards the establishment. He leaned on the hood of the car and left the visible spectrum of the living before outstretching his right hand in front of him and closed his eyes. "Seems we missed out." he said and patted the pendant as though patting a small child on the head. "There's only two souls left and.........one angel..... one demon. That's their quarrel. not something a reaper should be involved in." Upon saying that he strolled up on to the pavement outside of the building, and on closer inspection it became quite familiar. On the pathway to the left, it was laid with bricks with names of those who had passed away here at the retirement home. The bricks started in the late fifties early 60's seeing as the establishment was built in 1951. It was the 27th brick that was put down on the walkway, he was suprised he still remembered. But then slightly taken aback when he had. He tried to forget to those he was tied down to. He crossed his arms and looked up at the sky, she had gone straight to heaven, he refused to take her when she left so he let an angel guide her, so he wasn't sure if she was guiding people right now or teasing him, after all it was what mom's did. He blocked his eyes with his arm as the sun shone down into them as his gaze was directed up. He quickly turned his head and looked back at the building. "This is foul play on heaven's part." he said sarcastically, and with that he heaved a sigh and headed back in through the doors of the establishment to witness the beginning of the fight. Really just sort of lingered towards the back of the room and watched in a leaning stance against the wall.

Tai felt a cold chill run up his spine. He stopped charging and nearly froze as he struggled to turn around. His pupils narrowed as he saw, watching through the window, Emmett, the reaper.
"N-No!" he said, "An angel is one thing, but a reaper?!"
Knowing that, should the reaper decide to pick a fight with him, he would be killed, he fled. Once he was far enough away that he figured the reaper couldn't find him, he stopped. He trembled in fear, as he thought back to that moment. All he could see was a cloaked figure with a burning skull for a head, and that well known scythe. The look on it face haunted him, it's evil grin and pointing index finger. Even though others probably saw just a pale kid, he saw death.

Emmett looked around in a rather dazed way as he listened and watched the demon leave. He looked up and pointed accusingly at the ceiling, "Stop dragging me into these types of affairs, just because you went to heaven doesn't mean I do the dirty work." he said quietly. He looked over at the angel from earlier, "I told you demons cross over like that." he turned back towards the door, "I didn't even get to watch the fight." he said with a shrug. Stopping before the glass doors and held out the pendant as he had earlier, before the two souls slipped away into the green and blue lights. 'If word gets out there's a reaper working for the angels, this could get bad.' he thought to himself and looked around before pushing through the first set of doors and standing in the small space between the doors to outside and the other set of doors behind him. "This is becoming more and more difficult to figure out than originally planned." he sighed hitting his head against the wall. And Death was no help, all he did was talk turn souls over to him, the only two times he had actually spoken to him was when he first died and the night before when he made a deal for 5 new souls.

Luke McHale watched over Julian, as he often did. He knew he should be working; Death was being especially testy lately. But he just couldn't leave Julian as he looked over photographs of himself and his deceased lover. Luke thought he was done crying, but more tears surfaced in his etheral eyes. A voice rang in his head: Get to work! He ripped his eyes from Julian with much effort and floated gracefully out the open window, preparing for another day's work. Oh, how he hated doing this... he didn't even remember how he had gotten sucked into it. Something about wanting to stay behind with Julian. But now that souls were misplaced, he had hardly any time to do that. He walked in midair, five stories over the roofs of houses and small office buildings, gazing down at people that looked like nothing more than cockroaches from his vantage point. How he wished he could just fall and die once more.... It was then the faint glow caught his eye. "Great," he mumbled to himself. "Someone else's time to die, and I just so happen to be the one who has to kill them...." As he walked downwards as he would on a staircase, he saw that it was a man of about thirty three with his son. On the bright side, it was the man whose time it was; not the boys. But still; right in front of his son? Luke couldn't do it yet. Not until... "Mommy!" the boy shouted, running from his father's side to that of a young woman's; she was pretty, only a few years younger than the man. The little boy waved at his father as his mother took him by the hand and rounded the corner. The man returned the wave as his child vanished from sight. This would be the last time the man would ever see his child... But it had to be done. It was the natural order of things.
((OOC: Keiko; i'd like to change my Death Token >.< I'd like to cause death by touch, por favor! i'll PM you in the event you don't get this.))
Luke slowly placed a hand over the man's heart and ceased its beating. He fell to the groud, eyes open. He was dead of apparent cardiac arrest. "Sleep well," Luke said sorrowfully as the soul rose from the body. It seemed to be going to the right place; Heaven. It continued to float upwards until a small flash of white light consumed it. One spirit in the right place....

Kay fell to her knees as she became overwhelmed with relief. She had been taken off guard when the demon tried to fool her with his sneak attack, and most likely wouldn't have been able to block him. She rose to her feet, sheathed her short sword, and ran after the reaper. She followed him through the front doors, and wearily smiled at him. "Thank you. I don't know what I would have done if you hadn't shown up." She looked at his pendant, and said sternly. "Those two souls must be taken to the gates of heaven. Only there will they safely face judgment. I... I know you're busier than I, so I will gladly take them off your hands, and guide them myself." She walked closer to him, and asked "What is your name? I would like to know, if that is all right with you."

((note: I've gotten a lot of pms with questions about reapers so I'm going to split reapers up into two different classes, Scouts and Enforcers. more info on the two groups will be under the reaper category for the types of characters. Sorry for any confusion, but it makes a tad less confusing as far as powers and abilities go.))
"If names really mean so much." he sighed. "My name is Emmett Dean." With that he tapped the pendant and the lights lit up again around the sphere and two whisps floated out and took human shape. "Go ahead and take them. My job isn't to deal with demons though. I just came to see why there were so many loose souls about." He stepped back from the wall and turned to the outer door. "Tell me has Heaven noticed the large amounts of souls that have been misplaced? Or are they just being ignorant?" he asked rather bluntly.

Luke didn't know what to do at the moment. He wasn't sure where to begin; limbo, Heaven, or Hell. He supposed he would start with Heaven; the more evil souls there, the more likely a takeover attempt would occur. As he slowly and steadily rose upwards, he pondered the many humans reaking of death below him. Why did they need to die so soon? Most weren't even in their fifties yet... It just wasn't fair. "What did I do to get this job?" Luke moaned aloud....
