Jess smirked at the mention of the name that she had once loved more than anything. and shook her head.
"Hiro says nothing." She said bitterly. "Hiro does what mummy tells him to." She gave a snort of laughter and lit up. "To make it worse he's now married to some little robot which gives me even less of a chance to get Yuki back. Stable Japanese family home versus the single, foreign mother." She closed her eyes and breathed deeply for a moment. "I didn't even want him in the begining. When I found out I was pregnant. He promised me it would be all right."

Kayne listened to her with a frown and felt the strong urge to beat the crud out of Hiro. Not that that was an unusual desire, as he had never liked the pompous idiot. Reaching up, he gently ran a hand over Jess' hair as he thought for a few moments.
"Do you have any pictures or anything? I know this is hard, but I want to share this fully with you Jess. I want to be there for you when it gets hard," he said softly, wanting to take the bitterness out of her voice.

Jess took a drag on the cigarette and paused for a few moments before extinguishing it.
"Yes." She said softly, stepping out of his arms and walking over to the wardrobe. She pulled out a box, it was a shoebox. Smiling a little she carried it over to the futon and set it down.
"This is everything I have." She said, opening it and taking out a rather full album. Patting the be dshe opened it and smirked as she saw the first few pictures.
"Okay, I look like shyte in all of these." She said with a sad smile. "This one is me eight months pregnant. The next one me and Yu-chan just after he was born. There I really look like shyte." She sniffed and looked at the tiny thing in her arms. "He's so gorgeous."

Kayne watched her get the box and sat beside her on the bed at her invitation. Turning on the light, he looked down at each picture as she turned the page and he felt several different emotions run through him. Despite what she said, she looked beautiful. She looked happy. Smiling, he leaned over and pressed a kiss to top of her head as he flipped to the next page.
"He's absolutely gorgeous," he said as he looked at the infant in her arms. This made it real. This made Yuki real and her pain real to him. How could people be so bloody cruel? It was obvious that Jess absolutely adored him and he didn't believe her crap about not being a good mother. "Tell me more," he said softly with a small smile as he slipped his arm around her and kept his eyes down on the album.
