LordNeuf kingpinsqeezels I don't get it... Who would want to have a castle on a swamp? Gross. King said it was daft to build a castle in a swamp, but I built it all the same, just to show 'em. It sank into the swamp, so I built another. It sank into the swamp, so I built a third. It burned down, fell over and then sank into the swamp. BUT THE FOURTH ONE! STAYED UP! LOL! I love Holy Grail. She's a witch, burn her, burn the witch!!! I'm not a witch!

Yes of course I have, I just didn't remember that part, (It's been awhile) which was long after the part about the witch. I had a crush on Sir Galahad when I was little. redface

I still almost die laughing when it gets to that part. The holy grenade is pretty awesome...

I dont belive it will have direct influence on Jewish-Christian relations. They will alwyas try to convert us and we should always say "no".

Ahh...Good movie. Spamalot was awesome, too.
I have to say it is a bit annoying to me. I dislike the new pope, and I really don't see the point in them praying for our conversion. That's annoying, offensive, and will probably influence generations to come. It's things like this that start getting twisted into different and worse prayers later on.

It appears that we've all forgotten one important part: the service is in latin.
I don't know very many catholics out there with enough working knowledge of latin to understand the prayers as they're being said. Unless they have translations to read along with it or something. (I know Cindy speaks latin, but she's not a Catholic O.o)
There are still Churches here and there who provide a latin service, and they're not very popular anyway, from what I understand.
Oh, and those of you who don't get the Monty Python references should seriously check out their work. It's an education. 3nodding

Wasn't it in English (or whatever vernacular), but the Pope changed it to Latin? Either way, we have translations of Hebrew in lots of prayer books- why would Catholics be any different?

Having attended a Latin mass once (I was schedule as the musical 'interlude' performer), I can tell you that yes, there's an interlinear translation or a facing-page translation whenever the service is conducted in a language not known to most of the congregants.

DarkHalcyon It appears that we've all forgotten one important part: the service is in latin. I think most of the "never again" theroists are having bad memories of what happens when a German guy addresses a crowd of 200,000 people and starts talking about "doing it like they did back in the old days." I think there's very little to worry about in that regard.

I'm pretty sure our aim here isn't to badmouth other religions, however much we may disagree with their basic tenets or premises.
However, if one does think that the religion is crazy, I say, let the craziness come out so that its members can look it dead in the eye and ask themselves if they're really committed to it.
