Well,when i watched the second movie.. he got shot,then came back to life. o-o; i`m not sure if there are other movies. but yeah. xp

Yes, his death made the series work well, but it would've been interesting to see what L would've done to catch Raito in place of what Near did.

L's Death kinda went with the Death Note "theme" i guess....
It's not one of those fluffy animes where only bad guys die and everyones always happy.... and thus many many characters died from both sides of "good" and "evil"
but Light is still a buttmunch....

if L had remained in this world he would catch light before he was ever close to godhood, and i think that the writer of the books, wanted to show how insane light actually is.

.I agree with what you say about Light's godlikeness and how L's death improved Death Note but I almost stopped watching after L died... Almost. and I loved how Death Note ended, especially when Light got shot by Matsuda.

At least I don't feel like a baby for crying that he did. I haven't watched the whole series but I've seen some AMV's and some loser posted on the Towns topics he died. >,> Losers. Dx I'm gonna wait to watch the movies until I finish the anime.

all i know is i liked death note a lot less when L died sweatdrop
his character was just too important to die in my eyes or at least he should have lived untill he caught light

I was sad when L died, but I love Near just as much.

Because L was to awsome for this world and the inbalnce between L's awsomeness and Light's assholeness was to much for the world to handle..so L had to die for all the anime world and a little bit of japan could live.
