He looked back up to the sky once more before turning towards the forest, glancing over his shoulder at the mare after a moment. "... I know somewhere that you can stay; assuming you trust me enough to let me lead you there. Crow doesn't like to get his wings wet and, while his are different than yours, I doubt you like the feeling any more than he does."

She thought about it for a moment before she nodded. "I think were you going to do me harm you would have already." Fluttering her wings softly she decided it would be far easier to follow him in flight than otherwise.
It was easy change size and hover beside his head. "I do hope this does not .. startle you"

"I am used to having Crow fly by my shoulder... What is another friend of small size?" He laughed as he lead her through the woods, coming out in a clearing close to the base of the mountains. Several rocks had shifted over time to form a tiny alcove that would be mostly hidden from the elements. "You should be safe here."

She fluttered into the alcove and inspected it from her smaller perspective before she let her hooves touch the ground again. "Thank you ... it should do nicely." Her wings would stay dry and she wouldn't be caught out who knows where while a storm raged.

"There's no need to thank me... I still owe you for saving my life." He nodded slowly, flashing her another of his odd smiles before turning his head back to the sky. "Do you need anything else for the night, Kochu'Akai?"

She could use something to eat but that could wait until after the storm had passed. "No .. i think shelter is enough to ask of you." She shook her head and looked out across the black sky. "You have somewhere to hide from this?"

"I don't hide from the things that life throws at me..." He smiled softly at the mare as he glanced back down to her. "Shelter though? Yes, I have shelter... Of course, if I return to it right before a storm I'm sure Nostalgia will chastise me for not making sure you've made it through the weather."

There technally wasn't enough room under the alcove for two full grown soquili, even if she was petite, but there was a way. "Would you be willing to let me stand on your shoulder there is room here for you."
It would be a little hard to stay in place if the winds were strong but she doubted Draven would let her get swept away.

He shook his head slowly before looking back to the petite mare. "I won't chance exposing you to the elements... Storms can be rough, as can the winds that come with them. I've stood out in worse before... Stay there and I'll guard the entrance." He nodded before glancing up at the sky, watching as the first drops of rain began to fall.

She shook her head and flickered her wings. "So you would rather i feel horrible about you standing around in the rain than trust my ability to hide myself from a storm?"
She didn't really like that idea. It would be a nasty storm, she could smell it, and she didn't want to have to watch him stand out in it. There was plenty of room and she could bite onto his mane should the winds get too bad.

"No, I would rather you be comfortable as you are than blown away by a strong gust." He smiled softly as he stepped just inside the mouth of the alcove, blocking the view of the outside. "If I stand here I'll only get hit by a bit of rain and there's less of a chance of some blowing in on you. I promise I won't melt... And the rain won't last forever. It can't rain all the time."

She laughed softly. "I still feel bad that you are insisting on getting wet when there's no need." She'd weathered worse storms in her smaller size than this one was promising to be. Though usually she did that tucked into a hollow tree.
"It could rain all the time. Be a horribly dreadful place to live if it did though"

"I can either get a bit of water now... Or I can go splash around in the stream afterwards. Either way it's going to take a bit of water to clean the dust from my coat." He nodded slowly as he smiled at the petite mare, pale eyes still lingering on her crimson ones. "I'm sure it could, somewhere, but it won't here. It can't here... The rains come long enough to revive the earth and give us things to remember and then they're gone as if they never came."

She shook her head and tucked her wings against her body. If he was going to be stubborn then she could let him get wet for the moment. She could see no way to convince him otherwise that didn't involve finding a way to force him into the alcove. She was rather sure that with her size compared to his it would not be a feat she could accomplish.

The rain, once it came, fell hard for a good fifteen minutes. Once it began to taper off he trotted away from the entrance to the alcove, splashing his hooves through the small pools that had gathered. He let the rain soak into the rest of his coat, giving his head a light toss that sent droplets flying from his mane.
He nickered softly when the clouds parted to show the sky once more, making his way back towards the petite mare. "... I told you it wouldn't rain forever."
