"cool lets get some take out" she grinned. Turning to walk back to the shore.
Her new place was a one storey house with a view of the beach. Not that they could see it. She had barely moved in boxes were just about everywhere and they were having to sit on the bare tatami eating the pizza right from the box. still it was a nice evening and with the doors open they could hear the sea.
"what do you think?" she asked with a smile. The compensation money from Gennai had really gone a long way. "reclusive, i know but i love it."

Kayne laughed as he stretched out on the tatami, his head propped up in one hand and a slice of pizza in the other.
"It's really nice. I'd kill for a place like this," he smirked, glancing out towards the dark open doors. "The dorms are nice and all, but no privacy. I've been a bit spoiled by mine and Cirrie's apartment," he smirked and looked back at her. "Besides, now that I know where it is, you're far from safe of being alone now," he winked.

Jess laughed and picked at an olive from her pizza.
"Right. You're going to take time out of your hectic social schedule to hang out with me." She said with a snort of laughter. "though this is fun." she smiled popping the olive in her mouth. "I missed your goofy smile when I was in Osaka." she winked and stole an olive from his pizza.

Kayne laughed and shoved the last bit of crust into his mouth.
"Perhaps it will be my hectic social schedule I'll be trying to escape," he smirked and reached for another slice. "I'm enjoying myself too. I'll admit, I've missed your ever pleasant sarcasm and kicking my arse," he snorted and tossed a pepperoni at her. "You looked nice tonight. Wouldn't have recognized you if I hadn't seen you in such a weird place."

Jess smiled and severely tried to cover the blush that was easing under her cheeks. She wasn't used to getting such purely genuine comments.
"Well, i thought I would at least attemt to stop looking like shyte for one night." She smirked picking the peperoni off the floor and throwing it back at him. "fat lot of good it did me. Though at least one person appreciated it." She smirked, holding his eyes for a moment.

Kayne smirked as he watched the pink wash across her cheeks and attempted to catch the pepperoni she threw back at him.
"You were wasting the effort on him anyways. All he was worried about was getting you out of your clothes. I don't imagine it mattered much what they were," he smirked, looking up into her eyes. God she had such beautiful eyes. When a seabreeze blew in, one of her curls began to mar the view and with a soft smile, he reached up to gently brush it away. "Though personally I like it when you look like shyte," he smirked a little, keeping his eyes on hers.

Jess smiled and watched him as he brushed the curl away from her face and smiled, sitting in silence for a few moments as they looked into each others eyes. He'd definitely grown up. She could see that in his eyes and his confidence, he was a man now. Well, almost.
"I'll take that as a compliment." She said softly, her eyes not leaving his. "It's not really me is it? You know it would only take me two minutes to get a run in my stokings or trip over."

"Good. I meant it as one," he said just as softly, keeping his fingers lightly against the side of her face. Laughing a little as she went on, he nodded a little in agreement.
"True, but then, that's what I've always loved about you Jess. You're not perfect and you wear it on your sleeve. It's terribly cute when you try though," he smiled softly, bringing his fingers forward to trace the scar gently. Smiling a little more, he found his hand slowly slipping down to the side of her neck. Pushing himself up, he gently brought her forward though paused just before his lips touched hers. His silver eyes watched her face carefully for any signs of distress. Things were over and done with between them, but he wanted to taste her lips just once more. Leaning forward, his eyes slipped shut and his lips pressed gently against hers.

Jess smiled as he spoke and breathed deeply as he moved towards her, his intention very obvious. She did not shrink back and she did not flinch as he moved his lips close to hers. She wanted him to kiss her more than she realised.
When he finally did she kept it soft and sweet, reaching her hand up to rest on his cheek lightly. There was no duty in that kiss, no misdirected passion. It was sweet, to the point and exactly what she needed.

Kayne kept the kiss soft, relishing the fact that she was kissing him back without any hint of hesitation. After a few moments, he eased his lips away and slipped his fingers up into her hair. Keeping his face close to hers, he opened his eyes and looked at her again. Only in his wildest dreams had he entertained smiliar moments, and now it was real.
"I've really missed you Jess," he said softly. "There hasn't been a day when you haven't crossed my mind at least once."

Jess smiled as he broke the kiss and kept her eyes closed for a moment or two longer to savour the moment. When he spoke she moved to wrap her arms around him tightly, her fingers slipping inot his hair. That had to be the most romantic, nicest thing anyone had said to her.
"I missed you too." She said, kissing his cheek softly. "When I was in hospital, no one came to visit me. All I wanted was to see your smile and be in your arms. I felt like such a fool."

Kayne smiled as her arms wrapped around him, and he quickly slipped his around her slender body. Holding her close, he breathed her in deeply.
"I'm so sorry Jess. I wanted to come, but you told me to stay away. I shouldn't have listened to you. I should have been there for you," he said softly, holding her close and pressing a soft kiss to the side of her neck.

Jess closed her eyes again and listened to his voice amongst the crash of the waves and swallowed.
"God I'm so, so sorry. I loved you, no I love you. I threw it all away because I was worried about what people would think. I don't deserve this." she said softly. "But, do you want to start fresh? Clean slate. No stupid ex boyfriends or sibling s**t?"

A broad grin swept across his face and he pulled back a little to look at her once more.
"Aye. More than anything my love," he smiled and pulled her gently into another kiss though slightly deeper and more intense. When he broke away once more, he smirked and pressed a soft kiss to her cheek. "I don't think I fancy much going back to the dorms tonight. You wouldn't happen to have any spare room on your futon?" he asked with a cheeky smirk.
