((I think they’re tinier than that because the Ikis, their mounts are large foxes.))
While the other Ikis stood vigilantly on all their fours waiting for some sort of confrantion with this large one and the unicorn like beasts close to them, Croofor calmly stretches backwards. He pushed his body backwards while leaving his front paws to the ground and slightly raised his hip up. He was careful not to drop the Kokiri on him.
His eyes moved to the animals, and to his fellow travel mates. He lifted its head up, and steadily gazed at the human before them. He knew her eyes was looking at Delai, but he looked at her as if she was talking to him as well.

(about 6-12 inches tall, I would say)
"Your mount merely posesses the fine fire that any mount should," Delai commented, signaling to the group behind her that they could ease up a bit. By no means would they drop all caution yet, but the Anjt seemed to be no immediate threat. "Are you camping here for the night? It is not long till dusk, and we ourselves must find a place to rest. I would hate to be in your way, or to part ways unecessarily."
Delai seemed to have calmed down after Maelyn's response, but then she saw the iki's ears start to twitch. Maelyn wasn't the only large human running thereabouts. The 5 ikis and their riders behind her began to emerge from the forest into plain few, nervous hands on bows and knifes.
It was late afternoon, several hours after the raid had ended. Maelyn's people had used scouts and hand signals to successfully inform most of their members that they were again free to move about. However, tribes people who were alone, and further out, such as Maelyn, were just now recieving the news, because they had to wait for the person or persons who knew where they were to get the message and then seek them out.
The last person to see Maelyn should be arriving any minute now, probably also on horse because of the distance north and west.

Maelyn laughed, easing up. "Fire is one word for it..." As if in response, Bourgeon trotted off, his lead having been released, and proceeded to stamp about, trying to sniff the Iki mounts. Maelyn nodded in response to the second statement. "Yes, I believe I will be staying here, unless I am told otherwise by one of my tribesmen." She stood again, and stood in front of Klaptack, putting a hand out in front of her, on his forehead. He whinnied once or twice, and trotted off, following at a slower pace behind a now galloping Bourgeon.
She sat. She noticed the other Kokiri making their way out, but paid them no mind aside from a sideways glance or two. These were indeed strange people, so tiny in stature. She would have to call them brave, for how calmly their leader stood before someone so much larger than her. She smiled down to the tiny woman, and asked, "What is your name, tiny-one? I hate to be on such unfamiliar terms with one so kind."

( xd I was trying to get you to bring in an NPC! At least tell me who you would like to have seen Maelyn last. A relative?)
Delai didn't know quite what to think about that. Kind was not an adjective that she would normally apply to herself, though she supposed that she wasn't particularly rude nor mean-spirited. "My name is Delai Neliesh. What is your name?" she returned politely enough. She hadn't given her title, and hadn't asked for one from Maelyn. "And if I may ask, what tribes people do you mean? It is good that you are expecting someone, for someone is coming."

((Sorry... sweatdrop guess I missed that. Sure, it could be her father, since they're close enough))
Maelyn sat straighter. "I'm called Maelyn Mestiru. My mount is Klaptack, and the other is his half-brother Bourgeon, if it should interest you any." She turned, looking to the fast approaching figure in the distance. "Ah! You're eyes serve you well. That will be my father, Haggrab Blaed. Will the horse be of any trouble to you and your company?"

Delai eyed the beast, but there was more than suspicion there this time. "The horse, as you call it, might be of less threat if we could not be trampled underfoot, though I don't see how we would get to its back on our own." That was one way to find out if the beast was evil, she felt-- ride it.
The little people came further into view as her father approached, wishing to be a part of whatever was going on. They hoped to learn something, since here was clearly a messenger, although their presence would likely change the expression of the message if her father was appropriately cautious.

((oops, I guess that it does make more sense for me to take him sweatdrop ))
Although perturbed by the appearance of these strange people, Maelyn's father still managed to convey to her the essentials of what was going on in the world, to the best of his knowledge. Some of the information was in code, a natural code used simply and sparingly among their tribe. The raid was finished, and according to him, and overall loss. Lock down was over, but the tribe was still on high alert, now expecting a backlash because of the raid, and also because of other strange happenings filtering down to them.
There was a dead dragon on the border of Feretris, he had heard, and many of the regular underground contacts in Feretris had not reported this past night. He mentioned, in code, that his friend Raven Firestorm* had been the source of some of this information from Feretris. His friend was worried that the underground network there would receive a hard blow, and that there ability to rescue the occasional slave through their old networks would collapse.
Although Haggrab risked leaking information to strangers and possible foes, the rise of danger needed to be conveyed immediately to his daughter.

Croofor had wondered what the Anjt were talking about. His ears were listening to their voices, but his eyes were watching them speak, and their faces seem to be telling him something else. He could sense a feeling of anxiety from the older one as he spoke, but he wasn’t looking at them.
He was a little eased that they were probably weren’t talking about them, besides, if they really were worried about their little party, they wouldn’t talk about it right in front of them. They could have done other things to avoid them, but they didn’t.
He waved his Iki tail behind him as he glanced up at Delai, and to the others. He wanted to speak to his Kokiri rider, but not in the presence of other humans who may find a talking animal unusual.

Maelyn nodded gravely as the news was relayed to her. She thanked her father for informing her of such events, and told him she would return to him when Klaptack had Bourgeon calmed down. She turned to the Kokiri, and smiled. "Sorry to keep you waiting, Miss Neliesh. I wonder if there is anything I can do for you and your company, to help you get on your way, seeing as you have something important you must do."

Delai puffed herself up the best she could. Although she was anxious to talk to Croofor as well, what she was about to say may doom their privacy for it. "If I may be so presumptuous, it seems that your father and yourself are well connected to the plains people. It would only be fair to offer you the opportunity to represent the interests your people by joining us on our mission." Although her people knew perfectly well that there were at least three separate tribes people, they spoke and acted as if the tribes were one people, not unlike how the Feretris women viewed the tribes. "It seems to me that however important you may be to your tribe, they would be able to spare you for such a mission. We seek powerful beasts who can affect your future with a thoughtless flick of the tail. These savages must be reasoned with, if reasoning is at all possible, so that your realm and ours does not come to ruin in the ensuing battle."
It was the longest speech that she had ever delivered, and contained such bold declarations that her guards were left slack-jawed around her. They did not expect for her to reveal the essence of their mission to any one, not even Croofor, nor did they expect her to exhibit any care for what happened to the plains people.

Maelyn held a look of consideration on her face. Such a trip would definitely spark some sort of interest. But what of Bourgeon, and the other horses she trained and bred? She sighed. "I will join you. These beasts, the dragons I suppose, do sound formidable, and I cannot help but think about your lacking size, and how well you would fare against such monstrous beings. Unfortunately, this would require me to take a small detour back to my tribesmen, to inform them of my departure, and have my apprentice look after my horses... Would such a stop be alright with you and your tribespeople?" She asked, turning to Klaptack as he brought his brother back.

Haggrab seemed to go pale. Although he had never expressly forbid his daughter to do any thing dangerous, he had done his best to keep her sheltered. "I will come as well, then," he immediately insisted. Perhaps, he hoped, these dragons were a myth, and they would actually be riding away from the main danger, since they rode away from the Feretris conflict. Dragons had not been in the land for generations, though there had been strange reports as of late. Still, there couldn't be that many of them, or else every one would know, right? "There is another scout to the west of here, and we can leave the message with him."
Delai agreed, since they had to go west some anyway unless they wanted to go through the mountain foothills. She started her group up to leave immediately, and under their pressure, Haggrab led them to the nearest scout. They rode through much of the night.

Maelyn hesitated for a moment, but nodded. "Yes, it would be good for you to come. One Anjt isn't going to do much for a whole tribe of the tiny peoples." She smiled to Delai, and got out of the woman's way. "Will you be leading then?"

Haggrab nodded, and he did indeed lead at first. But after meeting the scout and exchanging whatever messages there needed to be, it was time for Delai to lead. There were soon out of territory familiar to the Anjts, which seemed to make Haggrab nervous. He started asking questions of Delai, but never liked her short, cryptic answers. Really, she wasn't being cryptic on purpose. It was the way that the White One talked, and she was simply repeating some of what she had heard.
"It is simple," she repeated, "We are traveling to a den of monsters, to bring them a message. It is impossible for us to coexist with them, but we pray that they will respect the territory of the White Ones and not cross over the mountains into Feretris. In any case, my people hope to find out the monsters' plans. It is a dangerous mission, full of honor and..." and blah blah blah. By this point in the journey they had heard it before.
They had managed to skirt around farms and houses dotting the country side. It was not certain whether they elicited notice, but they were not bothered by any one on their journey. They skirted the edge of a thinning forest, heading almost directly north. It was as if Delai wished to use the forest as cover in an emergency, but recognized that the underbrush was too thin to be of any use and therefore would only slowly them down.
