I try not to be... but sometimes it can't be helped. Free-writing will do that to a person.

Part of it. When I want to write a fan fiction, I basically just sit back and let whatever wants to come out onto the page, then I take the time and organize the thoughts into words, the words into sentences, and the sentences into paragraphs, etc....
It might take longer, but it makes the process really interesting.

The best way for me, is to do it to music that I've never listened to before. It really taps into those subconscious thoughts.

Any particular type of music? Normally I cant do Free-Write with any distractions... but I've been known to write down a quick fanfic while listening to a new album.

Nope. I was taught this by my English teacher in Gr 10 and 11. She'd put on her personal selection which was like, anything from Punk Rock, to Classical, to national anthems. The point was to start writing everything that comes to mind and not stop writing at all, not to correct spelling, not to erase words, nothing. Just keep writing non stop. I gotta say the results were awesome.

That IS a lot of fun. I can't tell you how many times I've done that after a really long and stressful day. It's a wonderful tool for that. It's also something I do when I vacation in Maine once a year. When I'm not in the lake, I'm writing.

You and your... Vacation money. I haven't been out of the country in 10 years.

It's my mother's. Trust me, I am in no financial position to be going -anywhere- on vacation. My mother only gets one week of vacation a year, and thats what we do... we go to Maine and swim in a lake for a week in a rundown cabin deep in the woods.
Relaxing, and very detached from the rest of the world.
You should come out of the country, it'll do you some good.

Ooh. Cabin in the woods. That sounds like fun... Especially when someone reads the words from the Necronomicon and zombies come around and start singing and dancing.

You have no idea what it does for my creative streak. It's too quiet out there, I don't sleep, so I write, read and paint all day (night) long.
