A thought occurred to Loveless and she lowered her eyelids while looking at Hex again. "Why do I get the feeling it is hard to impress a stallion such as yourself?" It wasn't that Hex gave off a cocky attitude, but Loveless just couldn't put her hoof on it. It was strange, he was much different then other males she had run in to. It almost bothered her, not being able to figure him out. "Though, that's not always a bad thing.." she commented once more.

Hex's ears pulled forward and his gaze sharpened some as he stared at Loveless, trying to take in what she exactly meant by that.

"I blame Anevay," he said bluntly, without much humor. "And I require seeing something before I believe it exists, otherwise what is to stop someone from telling me something that is not true?"

His tone had adopted an almost accusing way to it.

"Your answer is almost dissatisfying for me." She grinned, and glanced at a rock on the ground. "You also don't seem like the type who would blame others, especially Anevay." With a flick, she nudged at the rock and watched it roll toward the stallion. "But alas, such is who you are, Hex. Like I said, its not a bad thing. I find it amusing almost, but I won't dwell on it too much." Because, that would just be weird, anyhow.

Bringing her attention back on the stallion, she realized how much time she had spent with him already. As much as she would never admit it, she had enjoyed Hex's company so far. She had spent so much time alone, that it was refreshing to run into another like herself. It was almost 'fun', but using that word in her mind was just disgusting. She remained quiet for some reason, waiting for the stallion to speak again.

Hex grimaced and let his tail spade slap the hard ground. "As I've said, much of what I've learned, I learned from Anevay and my mother. I wasn't being completely literal when I said to blame her...but...ah. Nevermind. It's not important." He stared at the rock that she had flicked at him and, in one smooth motion, he stomped it down into the soil, feeling some of it fragment into rock slivers.

The stallion no longer felt stand-offish at this point, but he was not an overly social kalona and it felt odd to be conversing with a mare who asked so many questions about things that were more theoretical and non-physical.

"You are....different."

She only smiled at him as he spoke, he took things so seriously, and he really didn't need to at this point. "Don't worry Hex, I know what you meant. I am just rude in that sense, talking too much may have come from my father." Since well, she did enjoy the sound of her own voice.

At his last bit of speech, she raised her brow and let herself finally erupt into a simple laughter. "Different? Well, that is one I have never heard before! Strange, compulsive, mean, bitchy.. different is added to my list now." She sighed with a hint of enjoyment. "I am just in a good mood, there is nothing wrong with that, right?" Again, she flashed him with her golden eyes. It wasn't wrong to show her playful side, or at least she didn't think so. Though, that would only come out when she deemed it worthy.

Hex stared at Loveless a moment and then grinned wryly, exposing one chipped fang beneath his lip. This meeting was so strange to him, being one who usually never had a prolonged conversation with anyone.

"No, nothing wrong with it. We aren't all fire and brimstone all the time, I suppose." He paused a moment to think over that statement. "Well...most of us aren't," Hex them amended, as he had heard there were some kalona that were constantly furious with the world. "I'd think I'd get tired if I was like that."

"It is tiring," she commented, eyeing him again. "When I was younger I felt that way, it was very childish. It was sort of an excuse of an emotion, if that makes any sense." It took awhile for Loveless to establish her own mindset, since so many others had been influential towards her, or completely left in the dust.

Having another slanty-eyed face, she grinned at him before speaking. "So even you have a.. different side then?" Any other word choice would have sounded strange, and she felt confident in the usage of 'different'.

"Many things a foal does seem foolish. They know no better....at least you learned it wasn't the way things ought to be, otherwise I doubt we'd be having such a civil conversation." Hex was certain that things could have gotten extremely ugly, extremely fast, had Loveless be combative.

At her question, he lifted a brow, almost loftily, and took a few steps back in her direction, appearing at ease for the most part. "It comes and goes, I guess you could say. In truth, I don't talk to many and this is probably the lengthiest conversation I have had with anyone." He grinned back.

Ah, that was true, and Loveless only nodded at Hex's words. The stallion probably didn't realize it, but she took his last words as a sort of a compliment, since there were so many ways that she could have taken her life.

She held a calm expression and drifted her eyes off of the stallion again. "That's how most are- and how I am as well. It is comforting, for the moment I'd say." She glanced back at him, lazily rolling her eyes. "I am suprised, since I don't find myself in these kinds of conversations either. I am trying to not feel unnatural, and to just, flow with it." With another lazi blink, she held a smile and wondered -literally- what the hell was going on. Males usually made her so angry, but Hex's calm attitude was complicating, and not bothering her!

"Besides your family and Anevay, have you met any other Kalonas?" She was curious, since there seemed to be more then most realized in these parts.

Hex tossed a fringe of mane from his eyes as he stopped a few paces away as to not disregard either of their personal spaces, but remained engaged in the conversation by watching her carefully.

"I have not," he admitted. "I hear about a great number of them, but I have not personally met them. I have also seem them from a distance, but I'm usually never inclined to meet them. Have you met many?"

"No, not a great number. I have run into a few, but I find myself alone on most days." That was the Kalona way after all, she could never flock to just any conversation. Her question to him, as random as it was, helped her realize that she wasn't the only one who wandered alone most of the time.

She had also noticed that the gap of space between them was now filled with Hex's new close appearance, and her ears twitched at that change. "Its nice to see you up close." She grinned, showing a tooth or two. "Your coloring has amazed me from the start." Such a color tone was almost cruel to anything innocent, and it was refreshing to her.

"Here I have rambled on this entire time, you must be exhausted." With a slight flutter of her eyelid, she undid her wings to move them around for a second. "Do you have any questions of me, Hex?" Though, she wondered what was so mysterious about her!

Hex looked a bit disappointed at her answer about not meeting many kalona, but covered it with a shrug. "I hear the numbers are growing, if nothing else. Many foals are wandering about, which is both promising, yet not. An untended kalona foal can become dinner just as easily as a lesser foal in the wrong situation." He'd never consider eating a kalona foal unless they were defective in some way, or came from weak blood, but he knew others had no qualms.

The compliments of his coloring made him puff slightly with a prideful air and he angled his head proudly. "The gleam of my coat comes from my father. I have been told it shines like a stone from the river bottom, but not in a way that inconveniences me. My father's coat is much stronger than mine. The red...a combination of my parents, I am sure." He grinned widely; he wasn't immune to flattery all the time.

Her question about his questions caught him off guard and he was uncertain at first of what to even ask. Most of the things important to him had been discussed already and he wasn't the sort to really pry into another's life unless they started it themselves. After a moment, he let his curiousity win.

"So, what do you plan to do with yourself, being estranged from your family? Do you have a goal?"

She nodded, and cringed at her next set of words. "And, there seems to be a bit of off-breeding lately, just the other day I saw some black stallion with a wind female? I hope to demolish their children if I can." She shrugged and kept a sour expression at the thought. "I will never understand why a Kalona would choose a different breed. But, that leaves off more prey for us to kill, I suppose."

At Hex's movements, Loveless only smiled, though didn't bare her fangs in any way. It was good to see he enjoyed flattery, since her father had taught her what a wonderful feeling it was. "I have yet to meet your father, but since he is such a mystery to me, I have heard what a magnificient sight he is. Your mother explained to me how Ruin has his coloring, and I was already impressed."

She was also a bit off-guard, since she didn't expect him to actually ask a question! And, the one he asked was a nice one to work with. "A goal of mine.. wow, I don't know." She sighed, wondering if that deemed her pathetic. "I don't really think about my life as a set of goals I guess, but I try to just make the right decisions, and become greater then what I am. Becoming a proud Kalona is a small goal I guess, but I hope to meet more Kalona, get rid of what is wrong," she snorted as if playfully, "and keep myself happy in the process." With a flick of her mane, she looked at Hex again carefully. "And, what about you Hex?"

"I've heard that half-breeds have been doing quite well, actually. Anevay has been watching a particular family, born from a kalona female and a wind male. Abominations, yet they've managed to grow to adulthood." He made a growl of displeasure at the very thought of such a thing existing. "However, I have heard that the female is not of the right mind anyway and that the male wind will go after anything female and of age." He rolled his eyes and shrugged, as though that was a possible explaination for such a strange pairing.

He then grinned again at mention of his father, whom he respected to the utmost level. "My father is not the social sort, but I'm certain that it isn't impossible to meet him at some point. He's a very distinguishable kalona...you will know him as soon as you meet him. He strives to better our race."

He explanation of her goal in life made him whicker, possibly in approval or agreement. "A good, reachable goal you have, I think. It's better to take things small, than to overwhelm oneself with a monstrous plot. Myself? Ah, I knew you'd ask me after I posed such a difficult question!" He stomped his fore-hoof idly, watching dust curl about the feathers of his leg. "In truth, I am more in your position. I prefer to work on myself and by doing that, help our race as a whole. I choose to pass my knowledge on where I can and keep the legacy of kalona as true as I'm able. If that means a family eventually, so be it. If it means being alone and carrying on, then so be it." In truth, he wasn't sure how he felt about having a family, but if it was his duty to do so to improve kalona bloodlines, he would. It was much too early to tell.

"Exactly, though I don't know if I like the thought of them doing well. If something like that turned into a trend.." The hairs on her neck shot up as if reflecting her anger. "Ah well, nothing can be done of its nonsense I suppose. And, I do know exactly who you speak of, I just ran into one of the sons the other day..I have known him since childhood.." She curled her mouth into a teethy grin, and remembered the fear on Antony's face. "I tried to convince him that a Kalona way is better and correct, but he would not have it. Such a dissapointment."

"Both your parents strive to better our race." She said, with a pleasant nod. "That is why I respect your family so much." It was the truth, and she had no problem stating such. He really was lucky to come from such an important family.

She grinned, enjoying the way that Hex spoke. He was so confident about certain things, and it was pleasant to watch him. "I think.." she said, while having her eyes away from his again. "You said everything much better then I could have. But, all of those things are important to me too." In a sort of embarrassed way, Loveless snickered playfully and moved her braid to the side of her neck. "That is what the future is for, I suppose. But I am sure you and I will be wise in our decisions, Hex." She puffed up with confidence. "We wouldn't have it any other way!"
