Tomoko, I think your reasons for not liking the series are solid and you presented your opinion in a way that no one should feel offended one bit.

I personally liked the Twilight series due to it's different spin but I don't love it because of the points you have made about the author and her repetitious ways. The three books could have easily been one without all her "reviewing" what the reader already knows in each book.

I think my biggest complaint about any books lately is the size of them. The Harry Potter series has books that have a substantial size and a complete story line. Have you noticed that a lot of authors are just really giving us what should be several chapters of a book and claiming they are a book? It's so frustrating.

Also, for those of you who might want a little more substance check out Amelia Atwater-Rhodes. She started publishing at like age 14 and she is an author to keep an eye on for future good reads.

The Fourth and Final Twilight Series book will be released on August 2nd and is available for pre-order from book stores. It is called "Breaking Dawn" and the cover won't be revealed until summer.

Yep! I am excited to read the book too. Did you read her other book, "The Host"? It was really good too.

Has anyone read Breaking Dawn yet? It's amazing.

Yes, I read it! Wow! I don't want to ruin it for anyone who hasn't finished it or read it yet but I really thought the follow through on pulling every little questionable item into the ending was great.

Tomoko Tama
What didn't I like? I'm sorry if this sounds a bit harsh but...

(Don't read this if you're easily offended)

What did I like seems like a more appropriate question. I hated Bella's character, she seemed stuck up and conceited and couldn't appreciate what she already had. I hated her attitude towards Mike and I hated the fact that Edward and her called him, 'wicked' or whatever.

I hated the fact that the story had very little depth, and I hated the fact that the classic image of a vampire was torn appart. VAMPIRES SHOULD NOT SPARKLE! That's just... weird stare

I hated the fact that Edward and Bella didn't really have very much of reason to love eachother, aside from the fact - that he's hot and she smells good.

I ahted the way that Stephanie Meyer described everything, and the way she kept repeating how amazingly gorgeous Edward was.

I really, REALLY did NOT like Twilight. and I stand by that.

I completely agree with you. I ended up skimming through all of it. I'm sorry but I do not see Bella as a heroine. She's more like an anti-heroine. And the whole sparkle thing just killed it for me. Edward, in my opinion is abusive to Bella and like you said, they have no real basis for a relationship. I'm not going to be mean and I'm sorry if what I just said offended. In the end, it's not my cup of tea.
