Maybe tektek or avi contests, they always seem to be popular. I know a whole guild that was based off of just themed avi contest, the winner could get art from certain people chosen or the guild mods. Okay I think I might hurt myself if I try to think any longer this evening.
You could even make it art orientated. Like, the theme is an artist (not from here), and then people can try and make their avvie like a person/thing from one of their pictures, or a painting, etc. Abstracts would be fun. =PI personally like this idea to find an outside artist and try and portray it through our avi. I would love to participate in something like this; also an idea of my own was to pair up and see which team could draw and then the other portray their drawing best of their ability with their avis. _Xyiam_ 4laugh

Akiralta Some people (myself included) don't want to post pictures of themselves online. So, it might not be the fairest contest if a bunch of people don't participate. I don't know. I might just be the minority here. Your not alone. I dont really think the picture idea is that good it would be unfair to those of us that would rather not post pictures of ourselves.. It would be fun though but if alot of people want to be apart of it their own personal self conciencesness' would keep them from participating in the guild.

kettish Chiru013 I think a large, community sized project would be cool. Maybe something like everyone has an inch by inch square and put them all together. Or a lotto type of art trade thing. I really don't know, just throwing some ideas out. There's actually a world-wide collaberation going on right now that's doing that. You get a certain number of pixels to do whatever you please with. Really cool, actually. I'm new here, but a lot of people do the 100-theme challenge. How about doing a challenge with something different (rather than 'themes')-religions around the world, countries, languages, something like that? :3 I like this idea too... 4laugh An artist shoudl be able to portay their work through anything themes religions countries languages quotes anything through this you can draw or you could even team up and work togethor have an avi and a drawing and have them correspond it would give members of the guild to get to know one another and help out each other. _Xyiam_

I think that we should make clothes for avatars and sell them cheaply enough then you'll make loads more gold. the basic shops gaia gives are ridculous for prices. RIP OFF! sorry if you guys are able to afford it but i'm sort new to gaia and i've not much gold. If we could make clothes they could be very fashionable and affordable ( nothing like 24,000 gold for fairy wings, give me a break!) but things like that everyone can afford. Or you could make monthly collectables that don't cost gaia cash but that are reasonable price gold. then they can be auctioned later cause theyre valuable or rare or better still original! smile

Do not get of this guild for the sake of all the art lovers of Gaia do not give up on some thing that brings joy to so many others if you do that the world of art may never be the same for art is somthing thats not only good to do exspess ones feeling but it helps other to feal and think and may yet also inspire other people to become the artist that they know that they truly are don't give up hope for the sake for the art lovers everywere and the artists of Gaia

heart heart heart I think cents valintines day is soon to come why not do some thing with that may be couples art and and not only is it based on how well it is drawn but on how loveable or lovey dovey it look the more romantic the better that way couples get there chance at at to.. love is in the air let it spread like fire that sweep arcoss the the dry land and let love be thy inperatoin

*Nod nod* Whell you could axtend the 100 theme thingy a little by letting the wrighters here wright a short story or maby a poem and let collect them in a list. Than let the artists who draw make illustrations for them. It would in that case be okay for drawers to wright something to but not allowed to pick there own text for there illustrations. (to solve the short on writhers here) You could even pick a general theme like discripions of scenes or faces or creatures or whell I bet that people can think of a lot more. If it would be like a contest you could pick the one's that has the best text and best illustration. In that way you can both work sepredly for a good result but when working togetter your results will become even better. Maby this idea is nothing but I'm just brainstorming here. razz

Ideas from teh Spice:
-Find a poem or bit of prose that the contestants have to draw a piece about. It wouldnt have to be exactly whats written, just an interpretation.
-Do the same as above, but use a quote instead of written word. (should be silly razz )
-Pick someone randomly from the member list (dunno how youd want to go about it o.o I'd make a database, number everyone, and use a random number generator). That person comes up with either the description for an OC or their own avi, and contestants draw that person's character.
-Calendar projects (where random people from the guild are picked and assigned a month to draw for, or people submit an entry for a particular month and the best get picked.
-Same as above but for decks of cards, chess sets, emotes, you name it.

I think all these ideas are gonna fun. 4laugh But I can only do the writting thing. Since I still haven't figured out how to post pictures of my own on here. Otherwise i've already posted my Vampira drawing. And I am gonna donate again. It's just that I'm still saving for my wolf and skirt. 3nodding

idea i think that we should hav to draw a place in gaia so then if someone didnt no wat something was, they could just go ther n find out. everyone would be able to draw the same thing nomatter where they are.

What about a two pronged contest? The first part would be for the artists. A theme would be picked, but kept general. Like fighting, saving the world, nature, etc. Then the top 5 pictures will be used by the guild's writers to compete. Each writer can enter into different categories: short stories, poems, plays, ect. Basing their writings off of one of the winning pictures. That way each area gets to compete and we all go home happy....or at least logoff satisfied.
