"My lord, what foetrid corner of the Imperium breeds these fawning idiots? Now you really owe me." ~Gregor Eisenhorn, Hereticus by Dan Abnett Quote: I was sitting on the plinth, with my back against the tomb wall, blood slowly pooling around me, when a light flashed out in the darkness of the vault. It came closer. At last, Cherubael floated down and hovered over me. Its face, limbs and body were hideously marked with weals, burns and gashes. I looked up at it. It was hard to move, hard to concentrate. There was blood in my mouth, in my eyes. 'Glaw's daemonhost?' 'Gone.' 'He claimed it was more powerful then you.' 'You don't know ow nasty I can be,' it said. I thought about that. The last of the diabolic book's pages were mere tufts of black ash, scattered across the plinth. 'Are we finished here?' it asked. 'Yes,' I said. It frowned. 'I'm going to have to carry you after all, aren't I?' it sighed. Hereticus by Dan Abnett "Damned twinkly elf!" ~Bruenor Battlehammer in reference to Drizzt Do'Urden in one of R.A. Salvatore's books.

i never got far in the book "the princess bride", but there are a lot of direct quotes from the book in the movie. my favourites are "my name is inigo montoya. you killed my father. prepare to die" and "true love is the greatest thing in the world, except than a nice MLT--mutton, lettuce, and tomato sandwhich, where the mutton is nice and lean and the tomato is ripe" i love that movie 3nodding

"Which isn't to say that the two never engaged in a good old-fashioned game of cops and robbers, but whenever they did, no matter which role Nick was given, he always ended up being the one gagged, bound to a tree and sometimes abandoned." biggrin blaugh Bitten, Kelley Armstrong Page 69
I absolutely love her series, the Women of the Underworld. This is the first book in it, followed by Stolen, Dime Store Magic, Industrial Magic, Haunted and Broken. This one's about werewolves, but the others focus on witches, demons, vampires...ghosts and sorcerers, too.
EDIT: Sorry, Otherworld. Women of the Otherworld.

"When the wildlings knocked him off the Bridge of Skulls, somehow he landed in a nice deep pool of water. How lucky was that, missing all those rocks?"
"Was it a long fall? Did landing in the pool of water save his life?"
"No. He was dead already, from that axe in his head. Still, it was pretty lucky, missing all those rocks.

A few from the Robin Hobb series
"I have always been more curious than wise. Yet any wisdom I have ever gained has come to me from my curiosity. So I have never learned to turn away from it."
"No one can have so little that someone else can find nothing to envy."
"Don't do what you can't undo, until you've considered what you can't do once you've done it."
"It is the nature of humans that we tend to pass our pain along. As if we could get rid of it by inflicting an equal hurt on someone else."

haha i just read a book with some of hte funniest quotes..ill put my favorite...
"However, on resettling my position, i discovered that what i had taken for monkeys were nothing other than negro children, naked as they were born, parading in a feral manner to which they were not only accustomed, but in which they felt comfortable.I expressed my general concern at the blackness of the native people and was corrected on one count and instructed on the other."
its from "Cambridge" by Caryl Phillips...its so funny how racist people were in 18th century america lol

I found myself laughing aloud to this during early evening ::The Raging Quiet by Sherryl Jordan "I can supply you with whatever I have in excess." Marnie opened the bundle and pulled out a white dress, soft wool, with leaves embroidered on the bodice. "I see," she said, with a sly look at him. "Since when have you had too many dresses in your clothes chest, father?" "Ah---I've been caught out!" he chuckled. "'Tis a secret sin of mine, collecting women's garments."
This is a priest she's talking to. Of course, he was joking.. but it cracked me up a lot... especially after you've read most of the book and know how the characters act.
