I'm Christian and I do believe in the supernatural/Paranormal.
PostPosted: Thu Apr 09, 2009 7:33 pm

I'm a christian and I've been thinking that most of the supernatural has to do wih different dimensions. For example, heaven could very well be all around us, but just in a different dimension. And as for shadow people, I think their in a dimension of their own, just like our world, just different beings.

Let's see the supernatural is sometimes called "The Unseen". Christians believe in Angels and Devils and that there is constant warfare between the two that remains unseen... As a Christian, to me, it only makes sense.
My parents once told me, "if you don't believe that there are other things out there, you would be stupid," I took that to heart as a kid. Now whether all of the ghosts, ESP and everything exists, I'm not sure I believe all of it. I do believe there is other stuff out there we can't explain though.

I happen to be christan. I do believe strongly in the paranormal, and afterlife. I've had too much happen to me to not believe in the paranormal; I've even lived in a haunted place all my life.
I guess why many would be against it, is because it pretty much messes with the ways of the religon. Although, the conclusion I have came to... when I person dies, it is not decided whether
they go straight to heaven or hell. They are all stuck in some place until that is decided. Until judgement day comes, and then will it decided who goes where. Maybe where they are.... is
somehow connected to where we live. That is how I explain the paranormal. Spirits. Some people will say that spirits are only of those who were killed violently/commited sucide/ are really
bothered by their own death. I don't believe at all in this. I believe that spirits are everyone who has died; those who were killed violently/commited sucide/ are really bothered by their own
death are just more active and not as peaceful.

My grandmother and most of her family are diffrent, though. They are stubborn, close-minded. They won't accept the paranormal as being real. They are very religious people. To my
grandmother, things like this are demonic. It's amusing though; she wants people to think that she dosen't believe in any of it. But in her very house that she still lives in today, a very old two
-story house... a teenager commited sucide in a room upstairs. A 20-year old man who lived there a one one and had attempted to do the same died in a car accident. She will not stay in that
house alone, she's paranoid of her own house. Oh how I do wonder why this is. ;D

I'm what I consider a "freelance" christian. I don't believe in organized religion, I simply follow what I feel.

It might not be a part of their religion.

I'm a Catholic and I believe in supernatural, I'm deeply emerged in it '-'
My parents probably won't believe all the experiences I had until now if I tell them, so they know nothing about what strange things I went through.
And my parents is very passionate Catholics as well.
My sister on the other hand is an atheist and she knows what I went through but she doesn't believe me. She thinks I'm either hallucinating/schephrenic(I don't know how to spell that)
It's kinda sad, really '-'

I'm a Christian and I believe in the paranormal. There are two things in the Bible that lead me to Paranormal theories about the existence of spirits and other beings.

The first one is scripture that I always hear, but have never read it (so I don't know where it is in the Bible). "To be absent in the body is to be present with the Lord."

The second one is a parable in the New Testament. A poor man sat at the gate to a rich man's house. The poor man would beg for scraps from the rich man's table, but the rich man would not give him anything. Both eventually died. From Hell, the rich man asked the poor man to get him some water.

The point is, for those who follow Christ, when they die, they are in the presence of the Lord. For those who do not, they die and their souls are in Hell. My question is: Where do spirits come from if there are only two destinations given in the Bible?

That is why I follow and believe the paranormal.

Yep, I'm also christian and believe in it because 1) Bible speaks of it. and 2) I've dealt with it personally.

There are many deep mysteries attached to God and concerning all creation. Only a tiny pinch of them have been revealed to us through Biblical teachings and I'm sure more will be revealed when the time is right. But to me it's the biggest oxymoron when anyone calling themselves a 'Christian' refuses to believe in the supernatural. GOD is supernatural! All His miracles, His creations, His deeds, everything about God is supernatural--God IS supernatural. So at least in my mind I can't fathom any true Christian not believing in the supernatural; this one here sure does! I always have and I always will. I feel, in fact, that it is a very important responsibility for all Christians to do so; to me it's all part of getting to know the God I love all the better! wink

GOD is supernatural! All His miracles...

...Actaully, the ten plagues of Egypt were scientifically proven to be a chain reaction from a natural gas leak in to the Nile River. The exact same ten plagues were relatively recently recorded again in Africa (but not Egypt).

Clarifying all that....it is my belief that since God made the universe and the laws of the universe that man has discivered (gravity), God Himslef would operate within the confines of the rules He set for the universe, lest He contradict Himself and no longer be a perfect being.
