--- Compiled from the shop 10/26][quote="Kabuto Kabuto slipped in through the front of the shop, Fifth on his shoulder, and looked around. Zero Dream And in there, was the girl from befone, again. She was still reading the papers on the billboard, squiting a bit, visibely trying to decipher Simon's handwriting. Kabuto Kabuto stepped up her smoothly, momentarily forgetting that he had a passenger. "Hi," he said, smiling. Seated on the shoulder opposite Zero's position, Fifth smoldered. Zero Dream She blinked, glancing up at him. "Yo. Pretty empty right now." Kabuto He glanced around, which was entirely unnecessary, as he had searched the room thoroughly upon entering it. "Yep. I've heard that if there are two people here, there will be four, and so on, but for the moment, two seems just fine." He smiled again. Of course, he was still conveniently forgetting Fifth, who took this as a cuse to leap into the air and screaminto Kabuto's ear: "THREE!" The little feien looked genuinely upset. Oni setepped in shortly after Kabuto, a pair of tiny wings peeking out from the hood of his coat. "Oop, pardon me." He said politly as he scootched past him, waving at Zero on his way to the bolts of cloth. "H'llo." Zero Dream This drew a smile on her face... It was a little amusing, she had to admit. "Yes, three." Kabuto "Behavior," said Kabuto coldly to the fairy, then returned his attention to Zero. "So what brings you back?" Angrily, Fifth shot from Kabuto's shoulder and went to sit on the shelves behind the counter. Zero Dream "Just reading some more things..." She said, running an hand trough her braids. "Preparing for my bloom, you could say." Kabuto "Right, your name is next on my delivery list," he said. "I'm sure it will be soon." Silently he added, just be careful what you wish for. Oni and Banana Tango "Yellow would be good, do we need anymore black you think?" He said glancing over his shoulder. Oni and Banana Tango Sitting up in his hood, Banana pushed her dreasds from her face leaning over the rim of the hood. Adjusting her little scarf about her neck, she furrowed her brow in thought as she looked over the cloth then made a gesture like fluffing up. Oni laughed and looked again. "You're right, but I don't think I see anything like that here.." He looked again through the different materials. Zero Dream "Yeah, being why im preparing and all." Shrug. "Would stink if I ended up hurting the poor thing." Fifth Fifth practically bowled Oni over as he bounded over. "Hellooo!" he crooned, sliding to a halt on the glass counter just in front of the newcomers. Finally, more people! Kabuto "I'm sure you'll do fine," Kabuto reassured her. "Even if you do hurt it, feien are very resilient. Perhaps even moreso than humans." Oni and Banana Tango Jerking his head back, at the outburst, Oni squinted to focus at the Feien before him. "H'hello??" Banana clung to Oni's hood as he jerked about. having to tug her scarf off her face but manages a wave. Fifth "Hiiiiii," smiled Fifth, displaying two rows of tiny perfect white teeth in an almost feral manner. He turned upside-down in the air. "Who're you?" His experience the other day had taught him: get the other person's name before you give your own. Oni and Banana Tango Oni couldn't help but be slightly unnerved by the smile but returns it with one of his own. "I'm Oniaja, and this is my feien, Banana Tango." He reached into his hood gently taking Banana from his hood and setting her down on the counter. A bit touseled from her perch and plunked down on the glass. She hid slightly under her scarf. She scuffled her feet on the countertop waving meakly. Zero Dream "Yeah, I know... But I guess I worry easely." She sent a glance at the billboard again. "...I should jolt this down for Yoku, anyway... Is there some paper around ? And a pencil ?" Fifth "Banana Tango? That's a neat name." If only because it was bound to elicit just as much teasing as his own, if not more. "I'm Fifth." He stuck out a hand. Kabuto "Hang on a sec, I'll get some," offered Kabuto. He walked around the counter (excusing himself as he passed Oni, Banana, and Fifth) and proceeded to enter the back office. There were several papers lying about and several pencils and pens in the desk drawer. He selected a blank sheet and a mostly sharp pencil and stepped back out into the shop. He remained on the other side of the counter, since it was directly next to the noice board, and handed Zero the materials. "Here you are." Zero Dream "Thanks." She smilled, drawing off a chair and sitting in front of the board, re-reading the information for god-only-knew how many times, jolting down what seemed the most important and resuming. Her handwriting was kinda scratchy and irregular, yet readable, as if she was not used to write on paper all that much. Kabuto Kabuto leaned on the counter, resting his chin on his hand, and watched her write. After a few moments, he said, "Is the information really that helpful?" Banana Tango Taking the extended hand, Banana smiled broadly, She drew her hands back after shaking it signing a number of things to Fifth. Being mostly used to her household. she was unaware that maybe he wouldn't know what signing was or if he even understood it. Zero Dream "Well, for someone who doesn't have a clue how to take care of a feien, it does." She smirked. "And that would be me. The one tip I got so far was not to sit on the bloom.... Well, duh." Fifth Fifth cocked his head to the side as he righted himself and landed. He mouth twisted into a frown. Was she having some kind of spasm or something? Kabuto "I think most of the instructions are rather much like that," noted Kabuto. "I'm afraid I wouldn't really know, though, as I got Fifth when he was already a juvenile. Emi just sat his bloom next to her computer monitor for a few days, as I recall, and out he came." Banana Tango Noting his confused look, she stopped and looked up at Oni a little lost only to find him looking through the shop wares again then back to Fifth making a gesture as if writing on paper. She had forgotten her writing papers and quills at home unfortunately and looked to him sheepishly hoping he'd get the hint. Zero Dream "Yeah, I've also been told not to experiment too much - not that I inended to." She said. "Some bad things happened because of that before, I think... Im just gonna find something it likes and expose it to that." ... "...Trough how can you tell if a flower likes something or not ? That made about no sence." Fifth Fifth just stared at her further. "Do you have bad breath or something?" Kabuto Kabuto thought a moment. "The flowers move a bit, and if they don't like something, they curl up or turn brown. So I've been told." He looked back up at her to see how this information was received. Zero Dream She nodded, and jolted that on the paper along with the rest of the info. "Makes sence... kinda like a real flower." Banana Tango and Oni Pinching the bridge of her nose between her eyes, thumb and fore finger rubbing at the corners of her eyes as he let it be known that she was not getting through to him. She fanned her wings and fluttered up to look for something to write on and with her size. Oni finally caught on and pocked himself lightly with the butt of his palm. "Oops I'm sorry, She can't talk and.." he dug through his pockets, "Hm.. I forgot her papers." He mentally cursed with a shrug. "Sorry, Hon." She crossed her arms and pointedly didn't look at him as she landed back on the counter. Kabuto "Not that I know anything much about flowers, besides that they are the gift of choice for young girls." He grinned and laughed lightly. "Supposedly, there's a whole language of flowers, and certain flowers have special meanings. Friendship, love, good wishes, fortune, luck... that sort of thing." Fifth "Can't talk?" asked Fifth, looking from feien to bond. "Why not?" Zero Dream "My, my." She grinned. "Yeah, I heard about that too. Kinda like flowers, but... eh." Shrug. "Computers are better." Kabuto "Really? I've heard that, but I admit, I don't know much about computers myself." Which was a subtle way of admitting he was almost completely computer illiterate and that the machines caused him headaches. Oni "I.. really don't know to be honest." Oni sighed rubing at the back of his head, "She was like this since she came out of her bloom." Fifth "Have you tried scaring her? I bet she screams." Sadly, now that it had been revealed Banana could not communicate, Fifth had mentally dubbed her persona non grata. Zero Dream "Wwll, to be true I was basicly born right in them. Been around them since I can remember, so its like second nature to me." Kabuto "It must be nice to have a childhood like that," he said wistfully. Oni and Banana Tango Oni set his hand palmside up on the counter for his feien to step on only to have her kick him roughly in the finger tip and flutter back into his hood to sulk. Not the greatest of first impressions, that's for sure. He winced slightly and put his hands in his pockets. "No I don't think scaring her would help her find a voice really." He tried to think his way out of this gracefully but sighed and nooded at the door, "I think I should get her home now though. It was nice meeting you, Fifth." He tipped his head to the feien and headed toward the door. Zero Dream "...Yeah... It was." She sighed. "...But its all gone now, and it sucks." Kabuto "Well, it was nice talking to you, but I suppose we had better get back," said Kabuto. "Fifth!" Fifth "Bye," Fifth frowned after Oni and Banana. Then, to Kabuto: "Coming!" He needn't have bothered. Kabuto scooped up the feien as he walked around the counter. Kabuto "I'll see you again soon," he winked to Zero.

Banana Visit's Globin pt.1 Truding down the sidewalk with his hands stuffed into his pants pockets,Oni tried his hardest not to look over his shoulder even though he could feel the hole being stared into the back of his head. His mind shuffling through things he could say but throught better of. "..It wasn't my fault he didn't understand. You were so hel bent on not meeting other feien of course I forgot your papters. They're YOUR papers to begin with. YOU should have taken them with you." He finally grumbled, catching a glimps of Karma's house out of the corner of his eye. Normally he'd turn and head up the walk to her door but he wasn't much in the mood today. Banana however, stung by his words figured it was just what she needed. Not that she wanted to go home with him right now ANYWAY. She punctuated this fact with a swift kick to the back of his head and made a beeline for the front door. Grasping at the air where she should have been angrily, he shook his fist instead and stalked off toward his home. She tugged down one of her bottom eyelids and stuck her tongue out at him as she seen some characters from tv do from time to time when angered then looked up at the door. She fluttered her wings as she flew back a few paces and flew at the doorbell. Grinning as it sunk in with a muffled ring. Karma jolted, wondering who it was THIS time as she got Zimma situated in the kitchen in front of a tiny bowl of pixa chow which the moggy kitty promptly sneezed confetti all over before attempting to eat it. Reaching the door, she drew it open and reflexively lowered her eyes to feien-level finding, indeed, that someone was hovering there. She recognized this one, she knew, as she racked her brain for the name. This was--this was---Oni's feien! Yes! "Hi Banana." she greeted the little yellow-marked fairy. "Didn't bring Oni today?" she asked, looking around for the unicorn boy and not seeing him anywhere. Hm...guess she -had- come alone. Oh well. She moved aside to allow her in. Happy to see a friendly and familiar face, Banana smiled up to Karma. Glaring down the street where Oni headed before fluttering inside. She didn't wander too far only being familiar with part of Karma's home but she did however plop down on the back of the couch. Closing the door to keep out the draft, she looked around briefly for the feien, spotting her on the couch and approaching, dropping to one knee until she was more or less at eye level with her. "What's wrong, hon? Not having a good day?" she asked. "It must be catching...Globin's been in shambles lately himself."She raised her hands to sign to Karma, but thanks to her incident earlier she just let her hands drop back down into her lap and shook her head slowly. She tossed her braides out of her face and stood up again looking concerned at the mention of Globin and fluttered into Karma's hair careful not to tug or pull. Karma blinked as the heat feien disappeared into her hair, a little confused by Banana's dejected manner but...but much everything involving the feien, it seemed, this was none of her business. "Maybe you can help snap him out of whatever funk he's in." she suggested, heading in the direction of Meka's room. "He'd probably be more willing to talk to a friend than he would to me anyway." She remained in her hair, remembering this path from her last trip here. Really unable to reply to her at all. People that couldn't talk shouldn't bother anyway, so she thought. Her little wings fluttering out of nervous habit every so often as she listened to Karma talk. Weedling her way down through the strands onto her shoulder, she side stepped out along the curve of her arm and waited patiently. Sweeping Meka's bedroom door open, Karma frowned a bit to find that Globin was no longer on the desk where she'd left him last. "Globin...?" she called, looking around for him. "C'mon, I know you're in here." she sighed when she got no answer. There was a minute scuffle from the top shelf of the bookshelf and the foxcoon rolled her eyes knowingly, looking to Banana on her shoulder and pointing at said self. Following the instruction, Banana fanned her wings and fluttered up to the indicated shelf. Looking about into the shadows there she sneezed covering her mouth with both hands as some dust kicked up from her fluttering wings. She weaved herself about the fronts of the books peeking around the corners in search of her friend. Globin, huddled between Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy and Dave Berry Does Japan, had heard his bonded call to him, but couldn't summon the energy to respond. Instead, he enfolded himself in his wings and willed her to go away. He had enough on his mind at the moment...namely wondering what the hell Merri's cryptic note and the rose were supposed to mean. He didn't react at all, in fact, until he heard a droning sound he vaguely recognized but had not heard in a long while. ".....Banana...?" he asked rhetorically, not sure if he expected a response or not as he unwound his wings from himself. It was all she could do to keep from throwing herself at him. She did however step closer scurring her way under his wings as it unwinds to give him a tight hug. She heaved a deep sigh as she felt her face grow warm and all the stress from earlier finally came crashing down and she started to cry. She tucked her wings against her back burying her face in his chest just happy to be near SOMEONE that showed some symblance of understanding her today and wasn't a butthead like Oni. Globin was a bit bewildered as he suddenly found Banana clinging to him...and even more taken offguard when she began to cry. His mind raced for how he ought to comfort her and in the end he could think of nothing. Perhaps it was because this was the final uncertainty that nudged him over the edge, or maybe it was just that he had been caught in the empathy of how she felt due to his own problems, but he found himself clinging back to the dark-skinned little feien as he began to cry himself. He was unaware as Karma silently left the room and swept the door gently closed behind her as she went. A little settled by the comfort, she settles a bit, sniffling as she rubbed her eye with her fist, curling up to the taller feien tighter. It had also beein a while since she has seen him last, she was happy to know he hadn't forgotten her. Getting himself slowly under control, feeling a little more settled now that he'd gotten it out of his system after days of festering there, Globin's quiet sobs wound down to occasional hiccups and sniffles, though his grip on Banana remained tight. He was too tired, he realized, to waste time on apologizing for his outburst and it seemed that it had been a mutual thing anyway. Heaving a long cleansing sigh, the last of his tears drying on his cheeks, he drew back a bit to look down at the heat feien. "I--" he cleared his throat, his voice husky from crying. "I suppose its pointless to ask if you've been having a hard time as well...." Globin said, sounding a bit sullen. Banana gave a watery smile, chuckling at his comment with a faint nod of her head. She hesitated slightly before sitting back, still covered by the shelter of his wing as she signed to him about meeting with Fifth and how that went and just how stupid she felt unable to talk like other feien. She seemed to glare down at her hands as if it was their fault somehow. Globin knit his brow, Banana's signing a bit garbled in some areas from her stress, but he got the gist of it. She'd been unable to communicate with someone. Really, it wasn't hard to understand her if you paid attention to what she was pantomiming, but he supposed some people just didn't have an attention span like he and Merri did. "You're not stupid." he assured her, folding his other wing around her as well, drawing her into the feathery cocoon he usually reserved only for his own private angsting. "Banana, you can't help how you are...and if anything, you're more clever than the rest of us for having found a way around it." He wasn't used to being the comforter...in fact, this was the first time ever. But, at the moment, focusing on something other than his own upset was doing him a bit of good...he hoped Banana might feel better in the process as well. Looking up to Globin, her eyes slightly red from the crying and her rubbing at them. He was right though, she couldn't help how she was. That didn't make it any less fustrating to deal with though. She tugged the scarf from her neck. It seemed bulky and out of place on her for the first time since she had gotten it. [ It just hurt, I didn't know other feien could be so mean.. ] She signed with a disheartened sigh, [ Oni had dropped me off the day before and it.. I wasn't comfortable there. It seemed like I was just intruding. ] "At the shop...?" he questioned, remembering his own encounter there and feeling his feathers bristle a bit. "Well...if it makes you feel any better, at least you made an effort..." he sighed, closing his eyes, looking somewhere between deeply upset and disgusted with himself. "I--I didn't even get past the threshold of the window and I started panicking. I didn't stop until Shalafi abandoned his friends and took me home." His ears folded back. "I don't think I'll ever go back, either...the shop just isn't -for- some people." He was trying to comfort himself with his last statement, but it didn't seem to be helping much. Straightening herself, her lips pursed in an almost upset manner. Insulting her was one thing, but to upset her friend when he clearly outshone most of them was another matter all together. That was all she needed to hear, she would not be convinced to return to that shop if she could help it. She rested a friendly hand on Globin's shoulder, [ You shouldn't let them worry you, they seem to be stuck in a game of 'I'm better than you are' anyway. ] She signed with a snide smirk. [ I have friends like you and Merri and that's fine by me. ] Globin looked up at her, studying her expression for a moment, looking like part of him didn't entirely believe her for a moment -- the same part of him that he'd inadvertantly trained to reject all praise and compliments upon hearing them. He pushed it out of hand and allowed it to, somewhat at least, register. She had no reason to lie about something like that. "Thank you." he said softly, trying to smile, his mouth wavering, and failing. "I--I can't say I've met any feien I've been at odds with other than Talon, but according to Merri there -are- a few who are terrible. Whomever this Calico was that he dealt with was horribly cruel. I'm not sure who it was you met, Banana, but I'm sorry you did." He hesitated and then tentatively added "I've....met a few friends since last we saw one another. If you'd like me to perhaps introduce you sometime, if you'd still like to meet others, they're very good people..." Her strong manner faultering slightly at this offer. She did want to meet other people but didn't wish for another event like earlier that day. She balled up her tiny hands, the thumbs rubbing rubbing along the knuckles of of the other fingers as she chewed on this thought for a moment longer. So far she wasn't too sure about meeting Calico or Talon personally, but if Globin said there were a few good people then there was still a chance. [ I would like that, though.. not in the shop. ] She replied, or as well as she could pantamime, Some words she still wasn't used to signing. [ I'm sorry that I met that person as well, but I guess I can't be upset at my bonded too terribly much, he did try to introduce me.. I guess I took the reaction a little too hard. ] "No. Not at the shop." he agreed. "Aileron refuses to go to the shop at all because he's had bad experiences there as well, in fact...and I'm not sure Yeande and Shalafi go there much as it is." He reached out, brushing one of her dreds away from her face. "You may like Shalafi, I think, we'd just need to figure out how the two of you would communicate. Much like you don't speak, Shalafi can't see. But also much like you, he's found ways around it."As he shifted his weight a bit, the stem of the rose Merri had left for him earlier prodded into his tailbone from where he'd stuffed it behind his wings with the note when he'd gone up here to brood before Banana's arrival. Wincing, he reached back and drew it out, setting it aside and sighing at it as though it was the source of his own problems. "But---but at any rate, I would be happy to take you to them one of these days, should you like." he continued, acting as though nothing had happened. Blushing faintly as he moved her dred from her face, she couldn't help but smile at the simple gesture. It was a wonder what a good solid hug from someone able to do so could do for a person's mood. She huggled him again, blinking and sitting back again as she felt him wriggle about. Hoping that she wasn't making him uncomfortable but happy to see that it was merely because of a thorn in his side,no pun intended. She tried to stay polite about it as she watched him take the rose from behind his back, shifting her gaze from him to the flower as she listened to him. She gave another quirky smile, finally caving under the weight of her curiosity. [ Where's that from? ] She signed pointing at the rose, holding out her hands expectantly. "That's...." he trailed off and sighed, looking down at the flower again, his feathers standing on end. It was a wonder he wasn't continuously molting with as much worrying as he did. "....that's from Merri." he said quietly. Noting that she was holding out her hands, he picked up the rose and offered it to her to hold. "He sent it this morning along with a note...we've--uhm--" a hand went behind his head to rub at his neck "....well....things have gotten a bit uncertain between us. And I suppose I'm not entirely sure what he's meant by this. I want to believe its something good, but...." But he insisted on looking for the worm in every apple, he thought to himself sourly. Gods, he didn't know what was wrong with him...other than he hated making assumptions when they very well might be completely wrong. Taking the flower delicately in her hands, she looked it over with a scrutinizing eye. It seemed to be in good health, not picked over and the scent was pleasent. There was some good that came of living in a green house at least. She offered the rose back to him. pointedly ignoring the note. That wasn't her business thought she did sneak a glance at first. Not enough to catch it. [ It's very pretty. ] She signed, [ It doesn't appear to be damaged in ayway and it's read so that's a good sign. ] She offered hoping that the good news would cheer him up some. She thought a moment then grabbed her scarf from her lap and drapped it on his shoulders as best she could. "Why is that--" he paused as she draped the scarf around his shoulders, blinking in slight bewilderment. "....why is that a good sign?" he continued, allowing her to fuss with it without protest. His wings came apart a bit, allowing some fresh air in with the two of them to counteract the muggy environment their body heat and the breath from his talking had created. That was the one good or bad thing about feathers, depending on how one looked at them -- remarkable insulation. Banana had to blink through the light that filtered in from his opening his wings. The henna on her body easier to be seen now. Smiling a bit as she admired her scarf on his neck. It looked better in her opinion as he had the stature for it. She nodded her head and flexed her wings a bit. [ So what are you doing for holloween? My bonded told me about this fun thing called treak or treating. ] Realizing she'd shifted away from the topic, he suppressed a sigh and tried to answer the new question. "Halloween...?" he said, knitting his brow. "I don't know that I'm doing anything, really...I'm not even entirely sure what it is." You dressed up as something outlandish...the television told him that much. Why anyone would go to the trouble was beyond him. Never the less, he cocked his head questioningly, awaiting her to explain. Noting his sigh, she clonked herself upside the head with the butt of her palm. [ I'm drifting aren't I? Sorry about that but what I mean was that since the flower was in good shape then I'm sure that he's not thinking anything bad.. Else he would have send you a flower that had some bit of neglect just to pacify you. ] She smiled sheepishly to him, almost like a guilty puppy. [ As for trick or treating, as I was told, we dress up in costumes and shake people down for candy. Those unfortunate to have candy we dress up their houses with toilet paper or draw on their windows with soap and eggs. ] She grinned happily. It seemed like innocent fun to her. What better way to spread such a giving holiday with those that couldn't take part. A silver brow quirked in confusion. "So...you...demand candy from strangers and deface their homes if they say no...?" repeating what she'd just said with his own bleak outlook on everything. Catching himself, he gave himself a swift inward kick for it. Why did he have to constantly rain on everybody's parade? If this was a widely-recognized human tradition and Banana wanted to take part in it, just because he didn't understand it, he had no reason to try and dissuade her. "It---It sounds a bit odd, but I suppose I can see how it would be fun..." he said hesitantly. "...but what would you dress as?" For a moment she gave him a look like someone told her puppies grew into dogs, rainbows had no golden pots and there was no Santa Claus. But she shook her head. [ Nono not all of the houses. For you see, there are some people that are so sad they cannot participate that they are angry. It is our jobs to bring out the spirit of this holiday of giving by returning the joy! Eggs and soap all wash off and toilet paper is too flimsy to be harmful anyway. All harmless. ] She grinned, having returned her own faith in this activity. [ Me? I'm going dressed as a honey bee! ] She signed proudly. She had no real dealings with these creatures and only had the happy bouncy cartoon representations she saw on television as her guide. Surely if she knew what they REALLY did she would think otherwise..maybe. [ Oh you should join us, Globin! It will be alot of fun! Peggity could help you with a costume and everything! ] Globin shrank back a bit into his wings "Mnh...I don't know...." he said quietly, looking down and to the side, moreso uncertain than dismissive. He tried to envision himself dressed up and accompanying Banana and whomever else was going and was having a hard time doing it. He'd never even -worn- clothing... And what if people didn't like him there? What if he ruined everyone's night? For that matter, what if someone remarked on the fact that he wouldn't NEED a costume to look outlandish? He chewed his lip thoughtfully at this. She gave him a playful nudge and gave him a winning smile, [ It'll ve fun, I promise. We'll get alot of candy. It'll be a chance to kick back and not worry about what the other feien are doing for once. ] she took his hands in hers, swinging his arms out a bit as she looked about, drawing her hands back to sign again, [ So why are you hiding up here anyway? Wouldn't it be better to be down there where you could see things better? ] She nodded toward the edge of the book shelf and snapped her fingers, [ ahaha! You remind me of this tape Oni has. It's called The Last unicorn! ] She accentuated her comment by whistling the opening credit music for him, maybe he'd seen it. Globin hadn't seen it...he'd never even heard of it. Perhaps Talon had, though. He and Berra seemed more keen on watching television than he did. "I remind you of a unicorn?" he said, a split second before remembering the protruding white horn in the middle of his forehead and feeling stupid. Well, that would be why, he supposed... "I suppose I've been doing a lot of hiding lately." he said truthfully in regard to her earlier question. "Every time I feel like I'm ready to face the world, something happens that sends me straight back in here, a little further than before. Talon used to be the reason I hid here all day, now that he isn't bothering me any longer, its been this ongoing struggle with Merri. The shop was the final straw, really..." He smoothed his bangs from his forehead "Berra's told me I need to stop this before I waste away. I agree with her, but I just don't know -how- to stop. Hiding comes naturally to me, I guess."[ That shop seems to be a breeding ground for ill will if you ask me. ] she sighed turning up her nose a bit. She set about preening some of his closer feathers. She remembered her own bit of hiding at finding out about Oni's past a while ago. She understood what that feeling felt like all too well. [ I hid for a little while too actually. It was for a different reason though.. ] She seemed to trail off pondering a moment or two before regailing him of what happened between he, Oni's diary and Nhu. [ I want to learn how to defend myself.. I have some knowledge but just enough to get myself hurt I learned. But enough on that.. ] She furrowed her brow in thought though. Another name she hadn't heard of before. Cocking her head curiously at the mention this Talon person again as well as Berra and scratched her head. [ You seem to run into this Talon fellow quite a bit. Does he live year him? What of this Berra person? ] He listened to her as she told her story, not sure what to make of it, and even more unsure of what he ought to contribute to it....and so, those uncertainties in mind, he thought it best not to say as little as possible. He was relieved when she quickly changed the subject, making it unnecessary for him to say anything at all. Realizing he'd not really elaborated on his housemates, Globin looked over, watching her preen his wing feathers with distracted interest. He'd been hugged, he'd been petted, but nobody had ever -groomed- him before... "Talonfaust and Kookaberra are the two other feien who live here." he told her. "Talon was here before me and he's--well--he's Talon." he said as though that would explain everything. "Kookaberra is his daughter and she's, thankfully, nothing at all like him." He squinted a little, as though trying to decide something. ".....in fact, Banana, she's just about your size. Almost exactly, I'd daresay."Looking up from straightening his feathers, she raised a brow to this, A feien that didn't tower over her for once?? That was amazing in and of itself. She bounced a little with excitement.[ They live here? Really? In this room along with you? ] She half crawled half wriggled from his side to the edge of the bookshelf to look about. Pressed down on her belly as if she was trying to sneak a glimpse of a wild animal from the safety of a safari van. Crawling free from the haven of his wings brought about just how much cooler the air in the room was in comparison and she huddled slightly letting her wings flutter wildly a moment. "No--No they live two doors over from me in their own room." Globin explained, crawling after her. In spite of his miserable spirits, he was unable to suppress a trace of a smirk at her behavior. "They should both be here, I think, unless--""GOD DAMN IT! I don't WANT to go!" a male voice squawked in protest as footsteps headed past Meka's door and receded back toward the kitchen. "Oh, stop whining. You'll have a good time." Karma's voice replied faintly. "....unless Karma plans on making good on her threat to make Talon go out with her and her husband today for his summonday." Globin finished, wincing a bit at the punctuating slam of the garage door as his bonded officially left the house with Talon in tow. "....but Berra still ought to be here." Hoo, What a mouth that one had on him. It was no wonder he and Globin seemed to be at odds. She wasn't sure what was bad about going out on one's summonday.. unless it was to that Chucky place. The stuff called Pizza was yummy but they had giant people eatting rat monsters. He should have nothing to fear unless that's where Mrs. Karma was going to take him. In that cased she couldn't blame the poor fellow. Listening to the noise diminish down the hall before sitting up to wipe the dust off her front, She smiled up at Globin ready to try again for his sake. [ Can we meet her? ] Globin's ear twitched as the distinctive noise of the car starting up could be heard and, deciding it was safe and that Talon and Karma were as good as gone, he shrugged a bit. "I don't see why not." he told her, gathering his feet beneath himself and standing, his knees wobbling a bit from having crouched for so long. " She's a bit exciteable, just to prepare you...I imagine she gets it from her mother."Joining him in standing, this bit of news gave her a pause. A Mother. She didn't have a mother of her own. Just the little flower that she crawled from if that could be considered a mother. Either way she nodded and wondered how this may go. [ Well, if you say she's a nice person than I trust you. ] "She's very nice, yes, just a big too eager at times..." He wandered to the edge of the shelf and gave his wings a flap, taking to the air with only a little difficulty. Karma, thankfully, had not closed the door all of the way and he wouldn't have to bother with the knob as he paused in front of it, nudging it open and motioning Banana to follow as he slipped into the hallway in search of Berra. Giving a testing flap before buzzing after him, Banana lazily zig zags out the space of the door to catch up to him. The trip giving her time to look about the house a bit better and become familiar with everything. Karma's house seemed a bit more lived in properly than Oni's. It actually felt as if someone with some decorative sense put the place together as opposed to posters of half naked women and various anime posters barfed on the walls at random. "Berra?" Globin called softly, looking for the little pigtailed feien. Strange, usually she was zipping around the place at breakneck speed when nobody was around to tell her not to. "Berra? Are you--uff!!" he grunted, rounding the corner into the kitchen just in time to be careened straight into. Kookaberra did a clumsy backward saumersalt in mid-air from the force of their impact and paused, rubbing at her forehead and blinking at Globin a moment. "Oh! You came out! Are you feeling better?" she asked, immediately fixing herself with a smile when she realized who it was. "A bit, yes." he nodded. "I've someone I'd like you to meet." he added, gesturing behind him to Banana as she caught up with him. A little worried as she saw him jolt to a hault in the air, but relaxed as she watched a separate feien hover before him. She had the angle herself upward to stop just short of crashing into either of them. Catching just the tail end of Globin's introduction. A nervous pang gnawed at her stomach as she waved meakly at Berra, mouthing the word Hi unsurely at first. Hoping the gesture didn't look as awkward as it felt. If Berra was bothered, she certainly didn't show it as she zipped forward immediately. Unlike Globin or Talon, she loved meeting new people. " Hi there!" She chirped, stopping a short distance in front of Banana. "Its nice to meet you! I'm Kookaberra, what's your name?""That's Banana." Globin said softly. "....take it easy." he added hesitantly. "She's a bit nervous." He decided not to mention Banana's muteness. Berra would find it out on her own as, thankfully, despite being a bit hyperactive, she was quick on the uptake. Putting on her most pleasent smile she gave a inward sigh of relief as Globin introduced her. Of all the things that were a pain to sign her name seemed to be the most perplexing to translate she learned. Hoping for a better reception, she thought to mouth out her words as she signed this time. [ It. is. nice. to. meet. you. ] Berra cocked her head a bit at the strange introduction. "Its nice to meet you too." she said after a brief pause and a nod of her head. Noting her silence, the red and white feien fluttered a little closer and a sympathetic look came into her eyes though she was still smiling. "Aww, did you get the same cold daddy did?" she asked. "He lost his voice for a couple of days too." "Actually..." Globin, again, gave himself an inward kick for not sticking to his guns. "....actually, Berra, she's unable to talk.""Not at all...?" Kookaberra inquired, looking from Banana to Globin, watching as the blood feien gave a brief shake of his head, hoping he wasn't offending Banana by answering for her. "Oh! All right then." she said just as off-handedly as she might have if someone were telling her what the weather was like. Clearly, this was not a big deal to her. "So you're a friend of Globin's, Miss Banana?" she asked, turning her attention back to the yellow-marked feien. The mention of having a cold she found was actually amusing. She nodded to affirm Globin's words pantimiming as if she were trying to yell, cupping her hands either side of her mouth and giving a shrug when not even a stale peep came forth. She was so happy to not be stared at like she had three heads she could help but grin from ear to ear. She nodded and returned to her half lip synced signing. [ I. Met. Him. Shortly. After. I. Came. Out. of. my. flower. ] "Oh! So you've known him for awhile then!" Berra said, sounding happy with this news. " I was starting to worry that Merri and Aileron were the only friends he had." As she spoke, she flew a slow circle around Banana, investigating her. This was the first feien she'd seen who wasn't larger than she was. In fact, they were exactly the same size. "You're a very pretty color!" she announced randomly. "I've never met a yellow feien before. Most have been black or white."This time it was her turn to blush at a compliment, she watched Berra circle around her figiting slightly as she does so. [ Really? That's a bit odd. Must be fairly common colors then. ] She couldn't help but feel a little better by this if even a little bit. Berra nodded in agreement as she came to rest in front of Banana again, hovering on the air. "Must be. Aileron's white, Shalafi's white, Daddy's white, my sister Irisa is half-white..." she looked thoughtful. "Lots of red feien too, now that I think about it." Globin looked down at himself as Berra spoke, realizing he was all three of the colors mentioned....did that make him unique, or did it make him three-times overdone, he wondered? "Do you have any idea how long Talon will be gone?" he asked, forcing himself not to think that way. "Nope!" Berra said, briefly buzzing her bat-like wings in a furious flurry of movement for no reason whatsoever. "Miss Karma said they were going to lunch and then to a movie so they'll probably be gone all day." She paused, looking concerned about something. ".....I hope daddy wasn't serious when he said he was gonna commit seppuku with a cocktail toothpick if they took him to Denny's...I don't even know what seppuku -is-, for that matter..."Maybe there was something to be said for being common colors. For she realized that most of the black, white and red feien she had come across were usually both colors. She folded her arms against her chest for a moment. Was it really good o be such a different color afterall? [ It doesn't sound pleasent, that's for sure. ] Banana signed with a shake of her head. [ Is your father always so angry all the time? ] She inquired, hoping her question wasn't as forward as the signing made it seem to be. Globin did have a point, this one did seem alot more pleasent than the afore mentioned Talon seemed to be anyway. Berra's expression slipped a small notch, though she didn't seem quite so offended as confused, wondering who'd told her that. Or perhaps she'd just had an unfortunate meeting with him. "Not all the time." she said, putting her hands behind her back. "Its just nobody really notices him when he's being quiet, but when he gets mad he makes lots of noise and it makes everybody look at him....so they think he's always that way because its the only time they notice him."Her hands fidgeted with one another behind her back as she wondered if this would make sense to Banana and then she looked to Globin, wondering if Banana had gotten her information from him. Globin lowered his head guiltily in reply and said nothing, making Berra zip toward him and give him about as much of a comforting tacklehug as she could manage for her size, barely making him kilter off-balance in the air as she settled her arms around his neck "Globin's afraid of Daddy." she explained for Banana's benefit. "They used to fight lots when Daddy was still little and now that he's bigger, Globin doesn't want any part of him. I keep telling him they should talk more, but this is the first time I've seen him out of Meka's room in weeks."She giggled silently into her palm as Berra hugged on the sulking feien. Berra didn't seem like the type to chastise him anyway for something so innocent. Banana tilted her head back with an 'ooh, I see' sort of expression, nodding as the like sized feien explained the situation to her. [ That almost makes them like brothers then. If my understanding is correct from how my bonded and his brother are always fighting. ] She wavered slightly and looked about for something to land on, She didn't mind hovering, but being as her wings weren't that thick across, it did tend to get tedious staying in one spot for too long. [ Would you mind greatly if I landed? My wings aren't as big as yours ] "Hmm? Oh! No, go ahead!" Berra said, making a sweeping gesture at the nearby countertops. "I was just looking for some lunch, you guys can join me if you want." she added, zinging back toward the fridge where she began to struggle with the door, trying to pry it open. Globin watched her a moment and then ventured forward, biting his lip.

Banana Visit's Globin pt.2 "You're....going to strain yourself if you're not careful." he warned her, moving to aid her in opening the fridge door. Their combined strength made it offer a bit of resistance and then yawn open to reveal its contents, venting chilly air onto them both. Globin's feathers ruffled, making him retreat a bit as Berra, offering no hesitation whatsoever, zipped inside to examine what they had to eat. Skiddering to a stop on the smooth countertop, It was nice to be off her wings for a while. Ususally the hovering never bothered her this much. She poked out her bottom lip and pawed gently at her belly. She did seem to have put on a little weight, must of had to something to do with all the fried food things that Oni was opt to feeding her. She shuddered as a cold breeze rippling up her back from the fridge. Turning on her heels she gave a clenched-teeth glare at the appliance. She never was fond of the things that much, it was better than the freezer in any case. She waited patiently to see what may be produced in any case. Though much farther away from the open maw of the frigdge at least. Berra began to make short trips back and forth from the fridge, setting whatever she found on the counter for the others' perusal. There was a grape here, some cheese there, a bit of lunchmeat, and then a pause as there was the sound of a faint tupperware burp. She emerged a moment later carrying three rigatonis in her arms that looked to be part of a larger pasta salad in the fridge from the way they were covered in spices and mayonnaise. Each were large enough to suffice for one full meal if anyone should want them. "Do we have anything warm?" Globin inquired of Berra before she could go back to the fridge. "Banana is a heat feien, Berra." "Uhm..." she trailed off, rubbing the back of her neck. "Don't think so?" she blinked apologetically at Banana, biting her lip. "And m'not allowed to use the stove anymore after I tried to make some chicken soup for daddy and ended up dumping it into the burner..." she added with embarrassment. Globin's ears pricked a bit at this and he suppressed his amusement. He HAD wondered why the smoke alarm had gone off a couple of weeks ago and had been backed by a symphony of Karma cursing and pots clanging. Waving Globin off playfully, she grabbed the bit of lunchmeat and drug the bit of cheese over it. [ It's no problem. Here, maybe I can do something with this. ] She could handle this no problem. Why since the failed trip to Chucky Cheeses she had been working on her magic. She sad down on her knees, clapping her hands together for dramatic effect before rubbed her hands together vigorously. [ You may want to stand back as I'm still working on this. ] She warned then held up a finger to them both from each hand. When she was sure that they were well out of the way she rested her hand on the cheese, At first, it seemed as if nothing was happening. The cheese started to give away under her hands and melt rather nicely making the feien grin proudly with herself. Then almost at once it seemed like too much was happening as the cheese and the meet started to sizzle and bubble. The edge of the slice starting to curling inward and crisping brown. She yanked her hands back quickly but it was already too late as the area around her wafted with over cooked meat and cheese. As she sat back, her once proud expression now totally cowed by the fact that she just about melted the food to the counter top. She looked to Berra and Globin appologetically. [ Guess I need a little more practice with that.. ] Globin coughed a bit and waved away a tendril of smoke that had found his nose as Berra moved forward to examine the burnt food, cocking her head curiously. She quietly wished SHE was familiar enough with her magic to do things like that, unfortunately in the times she'd asked Talonfaust to teach her spells, he'd not been eager...she supposed it was because he was rather unaware of his own magic as well. At length she looked to Banana and smiled. "Its okay. You've gotta make mistakes to learn." the little red and white feien assured her as she trotted to the paper towel roll, tore the corner off of one, and then flitted to the sink to wet it before she set about cleaning the burnt remnants of food up. "If I knew how to use the microwave, we could try that, but I don't wanna burn the house down or anything." she said conversationally as she worked. Globin, investigating one of the twists of pasta nearby, nodded absently in agreement with this. "I think that would be one of the few things Karma would not forgive us for...." he murmured. Following after Berra, She grabbed her own bit of papertowel to help out. It was her mess after all. She should help clean it up. She gave a quirky smile at the words of comfort. It could have been worse. ( Gee Mrs. Karma, I don't know why your house is a smoldering pile. I was just melting some cheese... ) She chipped off the bits that refused to come off from the wiping. Having to stop every now and then to keep from falling over on her rump as the bits popped free from the linoleum. Pepe Val Pew: Globin would have helped the girls, but by the time he reached them, they seemed to have it pretty well in check. "Erm...." he muttered, sighing at the mess. "Well...what now?""No big deal." Berra assured him cheerily. "We'll just find something else, that's all. What do you guys like to eat?""I'm...." Globin trailed off thoughtfully "....I'm not sure, really. I've really not had much need to eat, truthfully." he hesitated. He looked to Banana for ideas. Looking about for a garbage can, Banana fluttered from the counter to dispose of the papertowel and bits of food she destroyed. Figuring she had done enough destroying for one day, Banana trotted over to the pasta that was still out. She leaned and gave it a curious sniff and pointed to it as if asking if she was allowed to try it. Sitting herself down before the bit of pasta, she signed to Berra, [ So what are you doing for halloween? I was going to see about taking Globin Trick or Treating with me and Oni. You and Talon are welcome along if you like. ] Berra had understood everything Banana had just asked except for where exactly she was taking Globin. Looking to the heat feien apologetically, she then looked over to Globin, at the same time, making a gesture at the pasta to invite her to try some. "Trick or treating, Berra." Globin informed her. "Its...a rather odd holiday involving pranks and candy.""Ooh! Like on the TV!" she nodded, pigtails bouncing, understanding now. "I'd love to go, Banana! Only..." she trailed off, rubbing at the back of her neck. "Mm...I dunno if its much of something daddy would like. I guess if we aren't out too late he might not mind...?"Banana nibbled testingly at the bit of food, finding it rather good indeed and peeled herself a larger bit to eat. Unfortunatly, she had gunk all over her hands and looked about for something to clean her hands with as it was almost as bad as talking with a full mouth. She eventually gave up and cleaned them off as best she could on her thighs and began to sign again. [ Well I don't know how long we'll be going out for, but the rules that my bond read to me did say to bring a parent. Maybe your dad could come too! ] She grinned at this idea. Two adults along was even better than just one. [ I'm going as a bee, I already suggested to Globin he should be an unicorn. Do you have an idea of what you might go as, Berra? ] She signed curiously. Berra and Globin, sharing a wavelength for a moment, both tried to envision Talon participating in something like Trick-or-Treating and neither could grok it. Dressing up? Lugging candy around? Talon didn't even -like- candy, much less hassling strangers for it while wearing a ridiculous outfit. Instead of either of them saying this, however, Berra nodded. "I'll have to ask him and see what he says. But he might wanna sleep that night." she said quietly. Hmm...what WOULD she dress up as, she thought, looking down at herself? Miss Karma sometimes said she was like a little caffinated hummingbird on a sugarhigh, but where would she get feathers? And then, suddenly, she had it. "I know!!" she announced. "I'd go as the girl from that show!" Globin arched a brow at her, blinking "....that doesn't narrow it down much, I'm afraid.""You know, that show...the--umm.." she fumbled, trying to remember the name. At length, she simply hummed the first stanza of a very familiar television theme song and snapped her fingers twice. "....The Addams Family?" knowing of this show only because Karma continually had teased Meka by saying 'Thank you, Thing' every time he handed her something and Globin, curious about it, had finally asked what she'd meant by it. A brief rundown and sing-through of the theme song from his bonded later, and he considered himself educated. "Yes!" she grinned broadly. "The girl from Addams Family!" Globin fell silent, trying to wrap his mind around this. She was the polar opposite of Wednesday Addams in everything -but- a vague similarity. "....but....why?" he questioned. "Because we both have pigtails! Its perfect!"Banana looked to them both as her idea was met with mutal silence and change of the subject slightly. She didn't seem too off put by that but let it slide anyway. At the first exclamation of 'the girl from the show', Banana had to nod with a snicker. Unless Berra meant dressing up as a tv, being every girl on it at once was virtually imposible. Course, being the tv watcher that she was, a wide smile spread across her face as Berra begain to hum the theme. She clapped her hands joyfully with a vigorous nod of her head. Even the simple fact that she had pigtails as well made alot of sense. [ That's a good one! ] She signed then looked to globin, [ Actually, maybe you should be Unico. He's a boy and I think he's cuter than the Last Unicorn. That way we don't have to figure out how to give you boobs. ] Globin blinked twice at the mention of having to have a bust to be the character in mind as Berra, taken utterly offguard by what Banana had just said, dissolved into giggles. Poor Globin! She had never seen The Last Unicorn and was unfamiliar with Unico, she could tell by the cluelessness in his eyes he hadn't either and was oblivious to the fact he'd been drafted to play a female in the first place. "I suppose if you think that's better." he nodded agreeably, really having no preference. As long as it didn't involve cutting his hair or doing anything painful, he supposed he didn't care one way or the other. For that matter, he was unsure he'd even go when all was said and done. Perhaps when the time came, he would lose his nerve... She nodded content with that idea, [ Unless you'd rather go as something else. ] She offered, clearly making it up to him. She would hate to force a decision on him after all. Turning herself on her knees to face toward Berra she thumbbed in what seemed to be the direction of her house[ If you need help with your costume I'm sure that Peggity can help out too. She's a good seamstress and I have more than enough black cloth to make your dress with anyway. She ate a bit more of her pasta, chewing upon it daintily as she wated to see what they'd say. All in All, it was summing up to be a fun evening. Globin nodded quietly. "I'll have to think on it, I suppose." he told her, forcing a small twitch of a smile. He wondered idly how much time he had left to decide. Halloween was close-in-coming, he knew, but HOW close? Berra, meanwhile, nibbling on her own bit of pasta, nodded eagerly. "Sure! I'd probably need all of the help I can get. I've never made a costume before..." she chuckled. The little feien jolted suddenly as though remembering something and winced, slapping her forehead with the hand that wasn't covered in mayo and spices from the bit of pasta. "I'm supposed to be feeding the pixas!" She groaned. "They're probably all wondering where I went...I told them I was just going to get something to eat really fast and I'd be right back!" Dropping the pasta to the counter, she zipped across the kitchen, rummaging around on the middle shelf of the pantry before emerging with a tiny bag of what looked like sand grains but was really tiny kibble. "I'd better go." she said apologetically to both Banana and Globin. "Sorry...it was very nice to meet you, Ms. Banana." She smiled genuinely, offering a quick wave before she fluttered out of the kitchen to go deliver the food to the waiting throng of pixas in the backyard. Banana returned the wave as quick as she could watching Berra fly away. [ She was nice. ] She signed conversationally as she chewed on her mouthful slowly. [ What's a pixa though? ] She faned her wings against her back slowly much like a resting butterfly. Warming herself with the added circulation. Now that they were alone again, and without distractions, she looked to him. [ So, was the rose the reason why you were hiding? I didn't see the note but, did something bad happened between you and Merri?] Globin had been about to answer her question of what a pixa was, but then as she kept talking, his wings drooped. "I don't know." he sighed. "The rose isn't the reason, no...I've been in hiding for a good long while, ever since I told Merri that I--" He trailed off and turned his head from Banana, rubbing at his upper arm self-consciously. "....ever since I told Merri that I had feelings for him. I'm not sure that he reciprocates them and I think I may have ruined our friendship with it. But then he delivered this rose and a note which didn't answer any of my questions at all, and...."He trailed off and shook his head. "And I'm very confused at the moment, I suppose. I can't help how I feel, but I don't want our friendship to be the price."Seeing him visbly droop, she felt maybe just maybe she pushed too hard there and slouched over shamefully. Maybe it was time to go home, she'd have to eventually. Part of her was feeling a little sickly and cold. She didn't feel right with just deciding to leave him this way though. Not after she obviously made him feel bad. For now though she decided to remain silent completely and just finish her food. Mentally cursing herself for being so rude. [ I'm sorry, Globin. ] She finally signed, letting her hands fall into her lap shortly after doing so. She shook her head sadly not having anything else to offer than that really. Globin looked up, brow furrowed. "Why are you sorry?" he asked, sounding genuinely confused. "You've nothing to be sorry for, Banana. This is something I've been upset about for weeks now...it hasn't gone away, it just occasionally recedes when the subject is changed, that's all...I--I'm the one who ought to be sorry." He drew his knees to his chest and rested his forehead tiredly on them. He hadn't meant to upset her. Why couldn't he just lay his own damn issues aside for even a day and enjoy others' company instead of inflicting his moods on others? Gods, he could be such a selfish p***k sometimes, he thought to himself. Remembering what Oni had told her earlier she fumbled about with the thought for a while. She didn't like seeing Globin sad and so she crawled over to where he sat huddled. Leaning her head against his lightly an arm curling about his shoulder just above his wing bases to give a comforting hug. Staying that way with him for as long as he allowed. She felt warmth rush to her cheeks as the little flicker of a though popped up in her mind again. This time however, she figured what did she have to lose? Tilting her head down to reach at his cheek, she hesitated for a moment before planting a light peck there and sat back on her knees and nervously awaited her fate. Globin was unresponsive for a moment, as though he was making up his mind whether that had really just happened or not. At length, he simply lifted his eyes to look at her. They were not threatening, they were not outraged, they were merely questioning amid the stormy sadness already in them. Mistranslating his expression, she leaned back, her face tightening expecting him to be mad with her for the seemingly harmless kiss on the cheek. She swallowed deeply trying to keep down both her thumping heart and the food in her stomach that threatened to escape from the nervous tension. [ Maybe I should go.. ] She signed eventually stumbling to her feet using every ounce of will she could muster to keep from running away. [ I.. will be back later with Peggity for the costume stuff.. ] The shaking of her hands making the signing almost as bad as a studder. She tried to fake a smile but found that it only inticed her to start crying and quickly turned away from him fluttering from the counter top. Globin's eyes widened in hurt shock. "Banana...!" he called after her, getting up to follow, stumbling, and spilling onto his belly before quickly righting himself and lighting into the air after her. "Banana, don't go! Please...!"Stupid...!! he cursed himself. He didn't know what he'd done to upset her but it was clearly his fault. He hoped he could catch up to her before she reached one of the open windows. He couldn't live with himself if she left even more upset than she'd come. Grinding her palm against her cheeks rubbing at the tears that streamed from them. She could juste barely hear him calling out to her and flew that much harder. It was almost like breaking the surface of the water as she zipped free of the frame out into the chill of the evening air. Curling her arms about herself. She looked around for a way back home. Unfortunately everything looked the same in the dim light and she started to sink toward the ground in dismay. Thinking better of it, she buzzed her wings harder to stay aloft and tried to get herself to stop crying. Stop it, she kept mentally repeating to herself drifting one way then the other. After a while of this she gave up, she was lost out here and that wasn't good. A stiff breeze didn't add to her already dismal mood. Globin, sighing as he realized Karma had left the living room window cracked open to allow in a breeze, flittered out of it after her, unable to see much in the darkening evening. Did she know her way back home, he wondered frantically as tears began to sting his own eyes. "Banana...!" he called again, zipping out to the edge of the front lawn and pausing there, squinting in the darkness as though it might help him see better. "Bana-na..." he called again, his voice breaking around the lump forming in his throat and tapering. He keened his ears to the wind, listening for the buzz of her wings and not hearing them. Maybe she really -was- gone. Sighing, huddling his wings around himself, he floated where he was for the moment. "I'm sorry..." he said aloud to no one, before turning to head back toward the house. Once the breeze died down, she weaved in lazy zig zags across the yard. She felt her spirits start to lift as she heard Globin had followed her outside. Swallowing her pride she flew in the direction she heard his voice come from last. She threw her arms up to shield her face as she almost crashed into his back. Actually she didn't stop intime so she managed to thump firmly against his shoulder floundering and finally grasping his arm in panic. Looking up at him like a guilty puppy as she hung from his arm. He looked down at her, feeling a pang of both relief and upset as he immediately turned to snap the smaller feien up in a hug, tears spilling over the rims of his eyes. Gods, the last thing he needed right now, on top of everything else, was to lose a friend. "I'm sorry, Banana. Whatever I did to upset you, I'm sorry." he told her. "I--I didn't mean to, I just--there's so much going on right now, I--I didn't know---" he realized he was babbling and forced himself to stop. "Please don't go." he managed to get out.in some semblance of a steady voice. "Not this way. I can't stand knowing I've made things worse."Has she the voice to do so, she would have yelped as he snatched her up into a tight embrace. Her initial reaction was that he had been flailed to get her off and she was preparing to fly, instead her wings stammered once then stopped as she was crushed to his chest. She patting at his back as best as her little arms could reach, both relieved and happy that he didn't want her to go. The warmth of his form comforting her as well as she realized that she had begun to shiver from the chill. She gave him a watery appologetic smile and tucked her hed under his chin. Globin, relieved she didn't try to pull away, loosened his hold a bit and heaved a sigh that filled every cavity of his chest. He just wanted to make it right, that was all. Banana was one of his first friends...the second feien ever to show him kindness aside from Merrimack. He rested his head on top of hers, closing his eyes. "If I can make it up to you, please tell me." he offered. His mind was already racing...he'd go Trick-or-Treating if she really wanted...he'd even let her dictate his costume and dress him up however she liked. He'd make a fool of himself and brave public. Anything...! Not wanting to let go of him, partially thanks to the warmth, but she very well couldn't sign behind his back. Gently tugging away from him just far enough to get her hands around for him to see. [ I shouldn't have ran off like that, I'm sorry. ] She reaches up to cup his face in her hands. Her thumbs lightly wiping away the tears. He looked back at her and managed a thin smile. "And I didn't mean to upset you..." His ears folded back in somewhat of a submissive manner. He felt bad enough upsetting those who -didn't- like him, heaven forbid he should upset his friends. She pouted her lips, shaking her head slowly to tell him he didn't have to appologize. Really he shouldn't have to. She was the one that was being nosey and bringing up bad subject. She felt bad that she only added to his grief. The sadness in his eyes tearing her apart. She wanted to tell him that she liked him, It felt a little sudden to drop something like that on anyone however. A crush maybe? That was harmless right? Though still there was Merri.. She was still unsure of her feeling for him yet but she knew she liked him as well. She never figured that they were together or in the process of, and that meant.. She didn't know what that meant, but she didn't want to lose her first best friend. Something, maybe it was instinct or a gut feeling that made her do it, but she pulled his face down to her for a kiss.It wasn't unpleasent, but it was an interesting feeling to say the least. Her fingersloosening on his face as she felt herself draw back. A guilty pang tugged at her heart, she couldn't lie that she wasn't growing fond of him. A crush at the very least but she didn't want to come between him and Merri. Globin's shoulders stiffened at the kiss, for a moment utterly at a loss. What was she doing? When she pulled back, he blinked owlishly at her, shaking his head once to clear it. It wasn't his first kiss, but all the same, he wasn't sure how it was supposed to feel. He certainly liked Banana much more than Talon.... Was he supposed to hear bells? Was his heart supposed to be racing? It was an enjoyable feeling he supposed, and very warm, but....but there was no actual spark. Certainly not the same panging ache he felt whenever he thought of Merrimack. He cared for her...he just wasn't sure he cared for her beyond friendship. "Banana, I--" he began, wondering exactly what he would say to her about it. Even letting her down easy at this point would have been a blow that she didn't need right now. He sighed and drew her into another hug, saying nothing. Sometimes nothing was best and there was no reason they couldn't discuss this when both of them were in a clearer frame of mind. Right now they were entirely too burnt-out emotionally and the last few weeks had brought him more than enough drama to wade through. For the time being, she just allowed him to hold onto her. The tone in his voice was more than enough of an explanation. He didn't need to say a thing, she already knew what he was going to say. All at once, she felt as though a massive weight had been lifted from her shoulders and registered as a lump in her stomach. Was it jealousy? Could she even manage to be jealous of someone she barely knew for someone she knew even less? No, that would make no sense at all. Somehow she felt that it would have been this way, had it not been Merri, it would have been someone else. Globin was far too nice to stay by himself for long. She felt silly for even thinking so. On the bright side, she didn't feel she was getting in their way anymore, Yeah, She could just be his friend that was fine. At this conclusion, she smiled faintly, tightening the hug. The steady knock of approaching footsteps drew her attention away from him however. A familiar figure was walking down the sidewalk up the driveway. It was Oni, looking like a cat on a very narrow pole. he had something in his hand as he walked to Karma's house. His expression went from confusion to sullen irratation at the seemily over intimate way the two feien were clinging to each other. " Here." Was all her grumbled jutting his hand outward to them. It was a simple box with no special wrappings of any kind. "If you're still going tomorrow, you're going to need this, and to get some proper sleep." He shot Globin a look, it wasn't a nessessarily a mean glance but a 'what are you doing with your hands on my daughter' stare. Banana pulled away from Globin, landing on Oni's fingertps as if waiting for the thing to jump up and bite her. Knealing down, she opened it up to reveal her completed costume. It was almost a perfect replica of the one in the catalog and this made her grin. She might of rushed to hug at his neck, but the vibe coming off of him told her it'd be a bad idea right now. Instead she closed the box again and looked over her shoulder at Globin. A tiny wave was all she could offer. [ Don't forget about the trick or treating! ] She signed, though not fully convincing in her cheerful signing as Oni started to head back down the driveway. She had to lean out far to be sure he saw it at all. Globin hovered where he was a moment, his cage thoroughly rattled by Oni's sour countenance. He offered a small wave back at Banana in return and then, wrapping his arms further around himself, the cold seeming to sink into him moreso now as he crossed the lawn and headed back toward the house. He was relieved, at least that they'd parted on a good note, but it hadn't precisely put his mind at ease. Oh well...if nothing else, it HAD gotten his mind off of his present problems for a bit. He hoped Oni wouldn't be too angry with Banana....or misunderstand what he'd walked in on. On that note, he hoped for a lot of things, really...

The rest of the walk home neither good or bad just quiet. Neither feien or demon making an effort to break the silence between them too tightly wound In their separate thoughts. A breeze moaning through the leafless branches of the trees and Oni?s footsteps the only sounds. Banana however was completely oblivious to either noise. She sat in his palm forcing herself not to look up at him fidgeting with the corner of the box he gave her. Her face drew tight as something tickled at her nose and she sneezed.
Oni drew his hand into the flap of his coat shielding his feien from the night air as he walked. Sure he was still upset, but he didn?t want her to get sick after all. She was, in a sense, his daughter still nothing would change that. He felt her shifting around on his palm and climb her way up to his shirt pocket. He didn?t want to say anything, but he noticed a falter in her behavior. She didn?t seem like herself in the least.
She was huddling against the warmth of his chest. A million and one thoughts all flickering though her mind and it made her tired. Hugged her knees staring up into the darkness, a bit of the night sky visible from the opening than his coat, she pondered just how things could have been differently. She was a stranger to how love worked or if she?d know what it was but she new that felt -something- and that something wasn?t good. She didn?t feel any better from earlier, her stomach bothering her slightly, but she summed it up to the food just disagreeing with her.
She rolled over on her side, hearing the echoing rhythm of Oni?s heart as her head lay against the inner fabric of his shirt pocket. It was a welcome distraction at the least. It didn?t last long however as she recalled the kiss. Touching at her lips with her finger tips she tsked and buried her face against Oni?s chest. What a fool she was. Globin probably thought she was crazy for how she acted. Hell, She thought she was for how she acted. It was obvious that he didn?t like her as much as she hoped and there was no point in mourning it. To hell with crushes and the lot, she thought to herself angrily. To be this torn up inside over a person, she couldn?t fathom it and tried her best to ignore it.
?Banana?? He finally asked stopping to peek inside his pocket at her. ?You okay? You seem quieter?than normal.? He asked softly. He could just make out the yellow in her wings moving to face away from him in indication that she was looking at him. His brow knit in worry as she remained that way without any hint of moving. ?I wasn?t happy that you kicked me earlier.. but I apologize for getting mad at you.? This brought a slight stir from the half hidden feien. He didn?t press it further as he began to walk again. Taking them the rest of the way home, Oni shrugged off his coat and Banana wriggled her way free from his shirt and fluttered lazily out to her greenhouse home. Oni stared after her slightly in shock. It was if he hadn?t said a thing at all. Bitter and angry, he threw his coat in the closet trudging over to his Playstation to turn it on. Maybe killing a few things would cheer him up..
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The greenhouse seemed dull and desolate now. The radio still softly humming some instrumental music she didn?t recall. She landed on the small patch of ground before her home walking the rest of the way. Pushing down the little latch on her door, she stepped inside and stood dully in the doorway looking around simple room apathetically. Right now, all she wanted to do was take a bath and go to bed.
She went to gather her wash basin and pitcher from the bathroom and headed out to the small pond. The water, even though it was still foreboding and dark was something she was used to. The magic wafting from it was much stronger now but she could hardly care. She did however care when the little plastic bowl slipped from the crook of her arm and plopped down into the dark waters.
Mouthing a curse word, she flew down to hover over the surface of the pool. It was made of plastic so hopefully it would float back up. Fate was not with her though. She clicked her tongue in irritation and tried hard to peer through the dark waters. It sat down in the water taunting her with it?s rippling image.
Banana cursed as she stared down at the ripping image of her wash basin from the surface of the water. She dipped her hand into the water, drawing it back sharply. The water was icy cold, almost painfully so. She grit her teeth, she had to get her basin though. Wheeling high into the air, she shot down into the water with a subtle splash.. Sitting properly upon the glass roof of the greenhouse watched a bitter figure, it?s wings curled tightly about it?s shoulder like a shawl as it watched and waited.. Holding down the simple plastic bowl in the water was a mere parlor trick, it wondered if heat Feien could naturally swim.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Meanwhile, Oni sat wedged deep in the cushion of his sofa, the Playstation controller in his hands ticking loudly as he mashed the buttons down in annoyance. This whole father deal seemed like a big screw job. Was he to be firm with her? Spoil her? What did he need to do??
Having slipped into the house unnoticed, Nhu padded it?s way to the living room, following the wall sneakily. Sitting in the shadow of a fake houseplant it formulated a plan. Oni wasn?t known for his overall intelligence and this made manipulating him a simple manner of finding the right button to push.
He was so fixated on killing the enemies in his game that he barely noticed the tiny purple body snaking up in his lap.
?Oh, hey Nhu.? He said not bothering to look away from the screen but did reach down to pet the Offanburu along the scruff of it?s neck. The creature leaned into the vague show of affection and staring up at his face silently. ~What?s the matter, Oni? You seem upset?~ It cooed mentally to him making a big show of being sweet and affectionate. It watched him play his game fiddling slightly with the joystick as it caught him just about to make a mistake.
?Whew thanks, that would have been my last life, Nhu!?? He replied actually smiling for once.
~My pleasure, dear.. Now what was the matter?~ The aid to his game a little distraction that allowed it a peek into his mind. It played it?s role accordingly though climbing up to stand on his shoulders pawing lightly at his singular horn.
Oni chewed on the corner of his lip still heavily focused on his game, He felt his eyelids getting heavy from the attention to his horn. He fought to keep the controller in his hands but eventually let it go dazed slightly, ?I got into an argument with Banana and I apologized but she didn?t seem to really care. ?
~Ah yes.. I?ve had a small encounter with her, she seems to have an underlying nasty side.~ Nhu telepathed in a pouty tone, it?s claws raking the hairline cracks in his horn making him draw his face tight. ~These seem to be getting worse. ~You should ask about getting something for these before it breaks off.~ Other than this, his reaction was minimal so it decided to step up the bar. ~ You know WHY she was afraid of you Right?~ It paused climbing down along the arm of the chair. ~ It was because of what she found out. A monster she said nothing but a horrible monster.~ Nhu hung it?s head, putting on it?s best pitying expression. ~I?m sorry..~
?What??? Oni?s eyes opened as he heard that. His voice catching in his throat and he had to swallow deeply before continuing. ?She said that..?!?
Bingo.
He sat upright in the chair turning to face the Offanburu who sat and looked at him in innocent confusion. ~I accept you for who you are. I don?t see why she cannot and she?s your so called daughter.. I even allowed her to use my telepathy and she tried to abuse it.. Not even so much as a ?thank you? either..~
It?s little shoulders rolling up in a shrug. The anger seemed to well up all at once as Oni brought his fist down on the armrests on his chair and got to his feet heading toward the greenhouse. Nhu didn?t bother following after him, it merely smirked evilly as it tip-toed it?s way to the edge of the chair to see him go.
?You?re a nasty little creature, you are.? A tinny voice cawed from over head as the Dream landed solidly on the opposite arm of the couch. ?You had no right t? do such.? Anthelion narrowed it?s beady eyes at the Offanburu who politely ignored the barb in place of grooming it?s leg.
~It wasn?t far from the truth, course I don?t expect a being that feeds off imagination to believe anything but lies to begin with.~ It looked to him from head to toe with distain. ~Look at you.. You pampas fool. You could have stopped me but you chose not to. So who is the nasty creature now?~
The dream stood himself up to it?s full height, metal talons gripping the arm of the couch fiercely. ?You?ll do wise t? watch that tongue of yours, harpy. It may end up ripped from that traitorous sink hole you call a mouth..? He hated to admit it but she was right, his tie with Oni barred him from interfering with such personal matters.
Nhu seemed distracted as it felt a small mental tug on the leash it set around the bowl. Perfect, the second half of the plan was coming into play. ~Spare me your threats, old man. I will not play your game of make believe. I have more important things to deal with.~ It hopped down from the arm of the couch and trundled it?s way after Oni. Antehilion didn?t follow, he was just a dream, it was not his place to interfere.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Banana tried her best to resist the cold of the water, tugging furiously on the bowl that sat contently at the bottom of the pond. The water bit all over her body like a thousand tiny needles and she knew she wouldn?t be able to stand it much longer as her body gave a start. Something like a pair of hand grasped at her throat.. She lost the breath she was holding in shock and began to flounder. Clawing helplessly at the icy waters inching her way to the surface, she felt her fingertips just break the surface but something drug her right back down. Panic began to set in as she stared wide eyed at the water surface so far from reach. She didn?t want to die here! Not like this!!
She kicked and struggled but seemed to be going further down. Her lungs began to burn in her chest , barely feeling the water anymore as a pair of hazel eyes fixed her in their gaze. A roundish face turned up into a smile. Just over head in a flurry of bubbles, a hand lunged in, closing around her just as she felt herself blacking out.
Oni has just managed to see the struggling in the water as he entered the green house. All anger dissolved as he rushed to the pool lunging his hand inside snatching Banana from the water and scurrying back. Something had tried to grab her back, fortunately he was much quicker. ?Wh--what the hell?! Banana!! Oh my god!!?
Just out of sight, the Ice Uhane watched the events from above on a cloud just on the other side of the greenhouse walls. Her white canines showing brightly against her dark fur as she smiled. "Seems that the little one has finally awoken", the Uhane purred to herself. Her tail twitched about her knees and she floated closer to get a better view. It seemed a little odd though... that an Uhane would have a fascination with something as tiny as... that yellow sprite creature that it was trying to play with.
Oni cradled his unconscious feien in his hand watching as the young Uhane half climbing out of the water. A disappointed look on it?s face as it reached out at him. How dare this stranger steal his friend from him! He?d hurt him! Bite him if he could, but the air outside of the water wasn?t as welcoming so he bristled sliding back into the water with an angry hiss.
Waiting a moment or two as the figure disappears below the surface, he looked down to Banana nudging at her gently with a finger. He rolls her over in his hand pressing against her back. Breathing a deep sigh as she sputtered and choked up some water, squirming sluggishly in his shaking hand. ?Oh.. Oh Thank Goodness?.?
Raising to his feet, cupping his hand over Banana protectively, Oni leaned out trying to see the strange creature that assaulted his feien. His lip curled slightly in an angry sneer and he rushed back toward the house, muttering something under his breath about that ?enchanted waterfall?.
Blinking in a bit of amazement, Akala scrunched her nose in thought. That Uhane seemed a bit... possessive. Her ears flattened as she watched the waters carefully. She would have to pay this new Uhane a visit. After Oni and the sprite had left of course. She sat back a bit. It was still very odd for an Uhane to act this way. Usually Uhane were... peaceful...
After she was sure that Oni and his sprite were gone, Akala dropped off her cloud gracefully and made her way into the greenhouse. Her tail keeping close to her legs, she made sure to pass without making a sound. She moved ever so lightly, making sure that her jewelry would not clink together. Taking a seat on the edge of the pond, she leaned over and blinked into the water. She could see the faint color of a type of aura, something that all Uhane had, but that only other Uhane could see. "Come on out little one, I see you there" she purred softly.
The Uhane remained at the bottom of the pond, circling slowly as it heard her call to him. Peeking it?s head above the surface slightly it looked around for the evil man then bristled again. ?Where is she? He took her from me and I want her back ?Now. By this I swear I?ll get her back.? It said in a calm yet firm voice, it?s hand holding up the small basin in a pair of fingers.
Akala blinked and tilted her head. ?Why are you so angry little one? You didn't even know her. She just happened to accidentally fall into your pond here.? She leaned over and tapped him on the nose. ?And just so you know... she can't breathe in there with you. Most other creatures can not breathe under water. That's why she was so frightened maybe. And that's why he took her away from you. She was in danger of dying.?
The youngster swam back a bit as she tapped him. He never thought of that, in fact the idea that she would drown seemed impossible. Not her, yet too proud to admit his mistake, he held up the basin defiantly. ?Then why did she give me this if not because she loved me?? He snatched back his treasure greedily raising up farther in the water. ?Who are you??
She smiled lightly and purred. ?My dear... that of which you hold as a treasure from her, is nothing more than a mere vessel to carry water.? Catching herself a moment she thought about what he had just said... "love"? Did she hear what she thought she heard? Her eyes narrowed and she sat a bit confused. Uhane did not often fall in love. Let alone with something that didn?t even summon them! Her ears flattened and she asked the water Uhane "Love? Is that what you would feel for that creature?"
He looked almost insulted by this and swam closer to the shore, ?She was with me every day living in that hutch right there. He said pointing at the dressed up little birdhouse by the pond. ?Every morning she came here and spend time with me. Surely she loves me. I live for her. She is why I am here!? He planted his hands on the shore pulling himself out of the water further. What he mistaken for love was merely the small feien doing her daily ritual of bathing.
A bit stunned, Akala just sat there... for once not knowing what to say. In all of her life she had never run across an Uhane like this. "Little one, do you know what you are?" He opened his mouth to say something, then stopped short. Looking about once again as though trying hard to remember something. ?I.. No.? He sighed angrily. ?I .. Thought I did but I apparently don?t.?
Shaking her head she sighed. "I should have never let him take you"
He blinked in amazement, ?HE??! You mean That monster is the reason I?m here?!? He thrashed back into the water angrily swimming to the bottom of the pond to brood.
Akala shouted after him "But I thought you liked to be here! After all, if not for him, you would have never met HER!" With a light breeze, Akala vanished without a trace.
He didn?t want to admit it, because then he?d owe that evil man something?but she was right. Streaking to the surface he called out, ?Wait! You never told me?what.. I .. Was..?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oni hurriedly set about making trying to get her to warm up. She was breathing at least but still cold to the touch. Her wings stiff and pale like wax paper. If not for her element the poor creature might of frozen to death. He had completely forgotten Nhu?s words. None of it mattered if he let her die, he?d be as bad as she said. Worse even.
He startled slightly as he noticed the young Bunnix and Reju staring up at him curiously from the hallway. They must of heard him clambering about and were woken up.
?Mittens, what ?s going on..?? Came Kami?s soft yet scratchy voice. Her paw rubbing at her eye sleepily. Maki however noticed the pale figure in his hands and rushed up along side him worried. ?Oh no! Daddy.. you .. You didn?t..! Did you??? Tears welling up in her eyes as she remembered this was how she looked when she accidentally squeezed one of her pet frogs to death. Oni, horrified, shook his head curling a free arm around her. ?No no, Honey? She almost drown out in one of the ponds.. She?s okay now.. Just cold Help me find something to warm her..?
What would you do to heal a nearly frozen heat feien? The thought of setting her on fire was simply out of the question, he clutched her close to his chest as Oni tried to think quickly. Kami, now more awake had ran down the opposite end of the hall.
Maki quick! Help me get this open!? She called. The Bunnix pulled away from Oni and ran to her sister. ? Help me reach this.? Kami commanded pointing to the dryer that was set above the washer. Being physically stronger of the two, Maki had no problem holding up the Reju as she opened the dryer. Luckily some wash was ran earlier in the day so the laundry was still nice and hot. Grabbing her Keroppi face towel Kami hopped down and ran back to the kitchen. Oni had found a water bottle and was filling it with warm water. Constructing a make shift bed out of the towel on the water bottle, They sat around the table and just waited.
An hour had probably passed by unnoticed as they watched over the unmoving feien. The color had slowly returned to her skin, even her wings regained their luster. She was sleeping peacefully now, tiny shoulders rising and falling steadily with her breathing. Maki and Kami had dozed off at their posts leaving Oni to sit along in thought. Nhu, who had been watching and seething quietly, dug it's claws into the wall beside it and stormed off. At least the Uhane had taken to the subliminal messages. Oh well, eventually it's plan would succeed..

It took Banana a couple of days to recover from her experience in the pond. Oni forbade Banana to go back to the greenhouse and she was more than happy to comply. She sat on the window sill basking in the warmth of the sunlight filtering inside as she watched the television in the living room from her spot. Anthelion clattered to a landing on the counter aside her. His plumage freshly groomed and his eyes shining brightly. “Ahhh you are awake, then. That is good to see, fair lady..†He crooned in his tinny voice.
She gave him a pleasant smile and pushed her hair out of her eyes. [ Thank you, Captain. Where is everyone do you know? ]
Cocking his head sideways the Dream looked about shiftily before leaning in close to her. “Ah.. No, lass, but I came t’ warn ye. That fowl lil beastie is th’ reason why you nearly went t’ Davey Jones’s locker, aye.. Nhu’s getting pretty nasty, I think it’s addled.. But I’d watch myself, poppit..†he whispered. She felt the hairs on the back of her neck rise at this. She new exactly who he was referring to and the idea that Nhu had that much power made her blood run cold. [ Does father know..? ]
The dream drew it’s head back shaking it slowly. “She tried to poison his mind with negative thoughts you concerning his book. It’s.. a very touchy subject with th’ lad and she told him that ye called him a monster.â€
Banana’s look of horror turned to anger as she got to her feet quickly. [ I said no such thing..! ] I‘ll tear it‘s feathers out! I‘ll..I‘ll..] Her signing hard to understand in her anger. A familiar thrum of wings hummed past the window catching her attention. She just barely made out Kione’s blue form weaving through the rusty metal bars of the fence. Her mood uplifting, she rose to her feet, pushing the window open just enough to slip through. A wide grin spread across her face as she stepped back patted the Dream on his neck ruff.
[ I know what I have to do. Tell Oni that I’m with Kione for me. Don‘t tell him -why- please. ] She half buried herself into his feathers with a tight hug and flew out the window. Confused, Anthelion nodded slowly and watched her leave.
Following behind him a ways, knowing better than to zoom up on something with a dagger attached to it’s rump. One of Kione’s ears fluttered and he glanced over his shoulder at her. “ I was beginning to wonder where you ran off to. I was on my way back to my den, why don’t you join me.†He called back. Slowing enough to allow her to catch up.
Once at his den, Banana signed excitedly to Kione who sat back on his multilegged abdomen and listened politely. She told him about the giant rat monster, her confrontation with the creature in her pond and nearly drowning. [ I want to learn to fight so I can have my revenge on Nhu. ] When she was done, he shook his head and set down his small cup of water. She looked to him in confusion. He stood over her , a firm expression fixed on his face. It almost looked sad and ashamed.
“You still lack focus. Your rash actions have gotten Oni in trouble and could have gotten you, that poor fellow, and Oni hurt badly. Revenge is never a good reason to learn how to fight, my child. It is too easy to abuse and far too easy to lose control of..†He sighed stepping over to his window and looking out. Something in the tone of his voice seemed as if he were repeating a speech he didn’t wish to. She closed her eyes, bowing her head sadly.
“You must learn to know when it is right to fight. You still do not have patience. We fix this starting today.†He went to a small chest and took out the toothpick again. “You are to practice a basic exercise, for each mistake you make I will tap the floor and you must start over. We will move on until you have perfected it 20 times in a row. You will not succeed if you try to hurry. You will fall behind if you take your time. You must be steady, and with that comes patience.†At this, she looked up nodding affirmatively at this decision.
And thus began her training with Kione. She stayed in his den on a separate bed roll he constructed from some cloth scraps and soft leaves. Each morning for the following week she would, without a word from him, start to practice. It didn’t take her long to get used to the routine. She had gotten used to watching the sun rise as she practiced by the third day.
He would make her carry large pebbles from one side of the yard to the other, setting them in a neat pile as quick as she could then take them all back. When this was done at least three times each turn, they would return to his den where she would go through some basic spear maneuvers.

[ WHAT??! ] Came the slightly flustered signing from across the small plastic table. Kione sipped at his tea, savoring it's flavor to the utmost as he ignored the 'tone'. "We are going to the shop." He said finally setting his cup down and staring her in the eye. [ I promised myself I never would return to that horrid place! ] She signed, her face drawn in a mask of anger, half shadowed by the dim afternoon light filtering into the shop. "Be that as it may," He spoke louder and more firmly, "You wish to succeed, you must be prepared to face you problems. Avoidance only makes it worse." She sighed wiping her palm down the center of her face. Her eyes glaring up at him as her fingers drew down the bottom lids of her eyes almost comically. He was right, and she knew it. Standing up, she gathered her dinnerware, bowed politely and went to prepare for the flight. The journey wasn't all that bad, she felt her stomach tie into sailor knots as they drew closer to the familiar building. The oculai hovered before it staring at the sign and looking about. "THis is the place then, aye?" He questioned skeptically wavering closer to the glass to get a better look inside. "I see no group of feien.. bur I can see an open window to the side there. That will do." He thought aloud. Winging around the corner and resting on the outer sill, he crossed his arms and nodded. "Try to do your best. I will not interfere no matter what happens." Unedited compliring from the shop 11/15 Gritting her teeth as she wedged her way in through an open window, Banana Squinted at the bright light of the inside of the shop. She had promised herself that she wouldn't come back but somehow here she found herself again, with the help of Kione of course. He hovered outside the window and ushered at her with his hands to go on. This was all part of her training after all. Clutching at her papers and quill tightly, she took a sigh and landed on the sill, It did seem pretty quiet anyway. So she thought. As Fifth floated up from behind the corner, he thought he felt eyes upon him and turned to see a familiar little face. Now here was reason to smile. "Hellooo there!" he called out, and waved enthusiastically in greeting. Walking along the sil she settled herself into the silent atmosphere of the shop. It seemed so odd to see it so.. She jerked her head up at the greeting, preparing to wave back.. until she recognized the markings. Oh no, not him.. She waved back anyway, forcing a grin. Hopefully this would be a better meeting? th darted over so he could speak to Banana without shouting. "Are you still not talking to me? It's rude to not greet people when they greet you, you know." aquaphina darted into the room- divebombing to the counter and sat down- looking over at all the feien in the room- everyone looked so much more equal of size- before everyone was so much taller than she. slowly she scanned the room for signs of life She had her pen, she had her papers but she forgot something to write in. Thinking a moment, the feien held up a finger gesturing for him to wait a moment. She kneeled down to scratch out some words on a sheet of paper handing it to him. 'I don't have a voice. Sorry.' Fifth crumpled the paper in his hands. "That's ridiculous. There aren't any humans around. What are you afraid of? Come on, TALK." aqua squinted at the writing on the paper- ~i cant....i cant what?~ as the other feien crumpled it up. dang...must read faster Standing back up, shook her head and tried to think of how to show him that she honestly couldn't talk. Honestly stumped she just offered a shrug. and tried scratched out on another sheet. ' No, I was born like this. I cannot talk at all.' She looked a little, no pun intended, at a a loss for words. "No, no, no!" shouted Fifth. He reached out to grab her by the arm. Taken aback, Banana tried to step back out of the reach but wasn't quick enough. Staring at Fifth odly as she gabbed onto his wrist with a what-are-you-doing?! expression. This caught him by surprise, but not by much. Fifth gave a snarling grin. "If you won't talk, I'll -MAKE- you talk!" he hissed, trying to pull her towards him. aqua watched the two feien talk more intently than before- her growing concern was for the one who spoke more animated- she looked back at the one yellow feien and watched as she try to demenstrate her skill- or the lack there of- Brow drawing down angrily as she was yanked forward a half step. Firmly planting her foot on the ground she yanked him back just as hard. She had no idea what he was planning but she didn't like the sound of it either way. With a strangled gasp, an unprepared Fifth went pitching forward and crashed straight into Banana, head smacking into her chest, which did have the unforeseen benefit of placing his horns perilously close to her face. aphina gasped at the two figting. she didnt want to see another gem- granted she never saw a gem before but she didnt want to start- she stood up and walked over to the two feien "HEY!whatsallthis?" Whuffing slightly as Fifth crashed against her, she stumbled to catch herself and him staring down at his horns warily. She jolted at the outcry of a second feien she hadn't noticed before and lossing her footing pitched backwards onto her rump. This gave Fifth the opportunity he wanted, stumbling practically on top of Banana and grabbing at her once again. Aqua once again came closer this time to pry the challenging feien off the other mute one "HeyNofighting! letsbecivilizedhere" she had been towering over the two trying to get one off the other "Pleaseyourbeingquitestrange" Gawking at the slightly larger feien latched onto her and the one towering over her, Banana squirmed and wriggled to get free still trying to stay out of at least face reach of those horns on Fifth's head. Fifth was too focused on grabbing Banana to really think too much about his horns as he gave her arm a TWIST to the extent of his strength. aqua once again began the prying trick- hoping it would work. she growled at the feien giving the rugburn "Hey!isaidstopthatyourhurtingher!" wraping her arms around fifths waist and attempting to pull him away... Unprepared, Banana's eyes grew as round as dinner plates, Her jaw dropped open in silent scream as pain shot up her sore arm and manifested itself in the form of a right hook aimed squarly at his jaw. The punch sent Fifth reeling; only his strength kept his grip from failing. It took a moment for the impact to realize itself, and then Fifth let out a cry so fierce it shook the rafters. He struggled against Aquaphina as he dagged himself back down towards Banana, mouth open and teeth bared as he tried to bite into the other juvenile's flesh. aqua contenued her struggle against fifth. both thier stats and physics were the same but she had more determination "yourhurtingher!STOP!!!!" aqua tried to kick the legs right out of fifth "Dontdothis!itsnotnice" Baring her own teeth she scrambled to her feet thankful that the elder feien was holding onto him. She made a vulgar gester at him and fluttered back clutching her arm against her abdomen. It stung but at least it wasn't bleeding or worse. Now that his quarry was escaped, Fifth twisted about to face Aquaphina. "Get in my way, will you?" he snarled, lunging for her hips (as it was about the only part of her he could reach). His arms went wide, intending to encircle her. Aqua gasped and stepped backwards- thats the problem with playing hero- who will be your hero when you need it- she quickly scanned the room for any possable help- "anyone?HELP!!!!!!!" she took another step back and once again tried to pry the feien off her- what she wouldnt give for a crowbar right about now... Averno followed a step behind Corvus and to his left, her face tilted up to regard him as he spoke, eagerly hanging on his every word. The younger Darkness Feien seemed to absorb each tidbit of information with relish. "I regret having only visited it once then, Master Corvus. I wish I had not been so distracted prior." Corvus scarcely seemed to notice that she had spoken. "Most people underestimate the non-elemental spells, choosing instead to focus on weak elements and trivialities. The non-elementals are in fact the strongest spells in our arsenal, particularly for weaker feien such a--!!" Rounding the corner Corvus stumbled into the scene unfolding near the windowsill. Two unfamiliar feien and-- "FIFTH!" Fifth looked up from his battle just long enough to realize this was Not Good. Still, it was fun, so he shoved the tips of his horns at Aquaphina before releasing her and leaping backwards. Seeing Fifth turn on her savior, Banana's wings buzzed faster as she dove down through the air to meet him half way. She was hurt but that was no reason to let someone else get hurt either. This Fifth seemed like a bully in need of a lesson. aquaphina yelped- the horns nearing her torso- she looked down at the feien who backed off a bit and sighed- she then turned to look for the yellow one to see if she was alright "Yellowfeien?areyouhurt?" she scanned the room back and forth- the two dark feien standing there and the young one who was trying to attack with all his might- but where had the yellow one gone? Averno nearly stumbled into Corvus, pulling aside just in time to avoid a collision, and she blinked at the scene within the shop. "What on Gaia is going on in there?" Whatever Fifth was intending to say in reply to Corvus's entrance was cut short when Banana's tiny form went barreling into him. He went directly horizontal across the windowsill and nearly hit the frame, but he hit something two inches away from the frame instead. "WHAT the HELL do you children think you are DOING!?" came the irascible shout. Corvus was holding his arm out, and whatever he had done, it had stopped Fifth just short of smacking into the wall. He flew over to the two juveniles with a furious expression on his face. aqua yelped as corvus stepped forword- not saying anything.... she looked at the two and then back at corvus- stepping backwards and hoping not to be yelled at A triumphant grin on her face, Banana and Fifth tumble along the sill. Blinking as they came to a halt in..mid air? She didn't have long to reflect on this as she was yanked up into the air. Sucking in a breath of air through clenched teeth. "A bunch of bloody BRATS, that's what!" Corvus snarled, grabbing them both by the arms and pulling them apart. He made the unfortunate mistake of grabbing Banana's already agitated arm but made no notice of this fact. "Both of you, what do you think you're doing?" he demanded again. His grip on Fifth was particularly tight. "She started it," said Fifth, smirking since he knew Banana could not make an argument without her precious quills and paper. She tried to claw her way free of his hand due to the pain, she shot Fifth a cold stare. She shook her head up at Corvus pleadingly pawing at his hand. Averno hung back in the corner of the windowsill and watch Corvus' handling of the matter. Her eyes scanned over the warring Feien with curiosity, committing their faces to memory. "she cant....shes mute" aquaphina panted- her tone of voice slowed by her concentration to her own breath "she....didnt scream" aquaphina whiped some sweat off her head and looked back at the yellow feien "i watched it all...." "A mute?" At that, Corvus released Banana, to focus more intently on Fifth. "Am I to believe some idiot mute decided to attack you?" "I guess she was jealous that I'm not afraid to talk," remarked Fifth lazily. Moving through the portal several minutes after Corvus and Averno made their way through, Shalafi paused just near the circle of stones, thinking quietly to himself. Everything made a bit more sense now.... but he had so many other questions as well. Sighing, he moved to fly off towards home, then winced when he heard the shouting from inside the shop. Was that Corvus?? He'd never heard the summoner that angry before... Flying to the doorway, he paused, hovering there and listening. The smaller darkness Feien began to let her eyes roam over the rest of the shop as the matter seemed to be well in hand. Averno squinted to try and determine where the spells Corvus had been speaking of were kept. aquaphina turned to the smaller yellow feien and smiled "gladyour alright" her tone of voice returning as she turned and flew out the window twords home Watching the pink haired feien leave she waved after her vaguely ...wait a moment Idiot?? Banana stared a bit dumbfounded at Corvus then back at Fifth in disbelief. Mute? Shalafi didn't know there was a mute Feien. Idiot, even if she signed at you, you can't exactly see it. Winging his way intot he shop then, Shalafi moved to the counter and landed there, keeping a bit of distance from the fracas, but still close enough that he could tell what was going on. Apparently Corvus did not see fit to engage the "idiot mute" any further. "Where's Kabuto?" he demanded of Fifth. "Who let you out here?" Fifth pouted a moment, then reached up to grab the arm around his neck and squirmed around. Confused, Corvus's arm fell downwards and suddenly Fifth had gotten it into his mouth, and then-- "GYAH!" howled Corvus, throwing Fifth down against the windowsill as hard as he could and darting up into the air. "You little fecking brat! You BIT me!" Fifth dashed for the nearest shelter -- which happened to be Shalafi. Jumping at the loud howl of pain, Bana brought up her hands in defense, moving out of the way so she doesn't get hit watching him fly into the air. At the very least, she didn't feel bad that this feien got under just her skin. Shalafi had no clue anything was coming until it was nearly there. "Mr. Corvus?? Are you alrig-- YIIIIIIIII!" He nearly jumped a foot into the air as something zinged past him and took refuge. Corvus' cry dragged Averno's eyes back there and his words made her mouth fall open. "He bites?" She asked as if in disbelief. Hair pulling Feien were bad enough, a biting one was enough to make her finger the hilt of her cocktail rapier. Corvus rubbed at the mark on his arm. Two perfect little rows of teeth. That was going to bruise. "Biting is the least of what he does," the summoner snarled. Fifth just stuck out his tongue. "You tried to kill Aileron, so you can't talk!" Stepping aside, Shalafi moved away from Fifth, leaving him in the open. He knew a bit about THAT particular incident, and refrained form speaking of it. Narrowing his eyes slightly, he looked towards the rather abrasive voice. "And who are you?" "That depends," said Fifth, narrowing his eyes at Shalafi. "Who are you?" Looking back in Corvus' direction, Shalafi sighed. "Are there mockingbird Feien that I wasn't aware of?" Averno sidled in a wide berth around Fifth and Shalfi to move nearer to the protective vicinity of Corvus. "Well I don't care to see what else he does." Corvus just dashed forward, grabbed Fifth again and said, "That's enough of that. I'm taking you home." Without even bothering to apologize to Averno, he stormed out, Fifth in tow. Averno watched Corvus depart and she sighed. "Well I suppose that is my cue to head home myself." Slinking backwards toward the opening of the window, Banana figured that now was a s good as any to make with a quick get away. That couldn't have gone any worse, she thought bitterly to herself. Adrenaline still coursing though her rigit form as she hoved in the dim light of the shop window. Squinting her eyes at your throbbing arm, she touched at the stinging skin to hiss through her teeth. It might bruise, but she'd be fine. As an after thought, Fifth's horns wafted into her mind and she shuddered inwardly. She'd rather have a sore bruised arm than lose an eye anyday. His violent ways only confused her more. Why didn't he understand that she just could not talk? Why would she stay silent even in the absense of humans if she posessed a voice of her own? I guess you'd take a gift like that for granted if you've had it all your life. Maybe Globin's words were right, or maybe it was her fault after all. For being an mute. For being an idiot. A glance back inside allowed for her to see the small group that had amassed through out the entire ordeal. Of them only two of them tried to stop it. That tall pink haired feien with the quick tongue and the tall black and yellow feien covered in ornate designs. Something about that one commanded respect. It may of been his dual markings or the volume in his voice but it was something she could not ignore. He had no hesitations on what she was though, and she felt a lick of anger flutter in the back of her mind. This thought didn't last as a pair of hands rested upon her shoulders. They gave a firm comforting squeeze that eased the tension in her muscle. "You tried your best. I saw you did. Come, let's go home, you deserve the rest." Kione sighed quietly, letting her go as he buzzed off in the direction of his den. Her hand reflexibly went to cradle it's hurt twin, recoiling quickly as it burned in her touch. She looked about for the familiar blue shadow and followed after him. There was no use in dwelling on it tomorrow would be a new day.

Quote: Anthelion let me know that Banana was staying out at Kione’s den. This is fine with me though I don’t know why, my dream didn’t seem to know either. I trust Kione not to let anything happen to her and it’s probably good that she stay somewhere else for the time being. I’m getting snarly late at night and I don’t want her to be in the way should I suddenly lose it. Working on bulbs for the shop hasn’t helped much either but it’s all I can do for right now. The atmosphere in the house seems a bit tense as well. I have a feeling that I’m missing something, but I can’t put a finger on just what it is. I’m sure I will find out what it is eventually. I’m sure. Kamille sent me an envelope with some information I didn’t really understand. It looked to be some generation records for a few of the families in Edo, one I recognize as my own. There was also Something about a guy called Kamada Tendo. Her note says he was a descendant from one of the patrons of the temple my mother used to frequent and was coming to Gaia to talk to me. I hope he knows English. I can’t speak anything else. Maybe I should pick up a translation dictionary just in case.. Part of me wants to drain that pond and get that…whatever the hell it is out of the greenhouse. The other says I shouldn’t as I am responsible for it being there to begin with. I will try to talk to it later, but until it can get past calling me vile scourge and such it will have to wait. The colder weather has forced me to bring in some of the potted plants and cover the trees in the green house but everything by the pond is forfeit I‘m afraid. Training began the same time the following morning as always. Kione, like usual had already been awake a few hours prior off doing who knows what only to arrive right as she had gotten her practice gear from the little plastic chest and the meager furniture moved out of the way. She would turn to him and bow politely in one fluid motion just before taking herself through the motions. Banana watched her hands carefully as she practiced the simple staff handling exercise with her eraser knobbed toothpick. Kione watched over her quietly with a scrutinizing eye. By now she had committed the routine to memory, or at least as much of it as she could. Her thoughts drifted off only to snap back as she realized she missed a hand motion. She felt the hairs at the base of her neck stand on end as his lips pursed tightly. He brought his stinger thumping on the wooden floor of his den producing a hollow knock. The look on his face suggested that it wasn’t the only mistake she made that time. She wouldn’t allow herself to quit until her arms were almost too sore to continue and she could feel her fingers trembling from forcing themselves to remain wrapped tightly around the toothpick. Time passed steadily as training went on from early in the morning until mid-afternoon By now a thick layer of sweat covering her small frame as she tried to keep momentum on the last rotation. Kione could see her apparent exhaustion but made no move to stop her. It was hard work but she wanted this. Nothing worth obtaining is ever easy to get. Letting the toothpick fall from her hands when she could practice no longer, he took her to a small stream near by where the rocks jutted up just high enough to make a miniature water fall. Just at the base was a pile of rocks worn smooth by the waters where she would sit under the rushing waters. She would try to ignore the icy cold of the rushing water through meditation. The water was both a curse and a blessing with it’s repeated pounding against her sore body. Something in the water glimmered attractively but only for a moment or so. It could have been her exhaustion playing a trick on her weary mind but she could not ignore that she did in fact see a red flash. Try as she might, her curious nature got the better of her. Peeking around cautiously for her teacher as she slipped down from the rock, Banana waded through the shallow waters over to the spot. What could a harmless peek do? If there was nothing there she would simply return to her meditation. Kione didn’t have to know after all. Her wings bowed outward keeping her upright in the waist deep rushing waters of the stream. She carefully navigated through the waters toward the spot, having to stop now and then as a pebble would turn traitor and slip from under her toes causing her to have to maintain balance. With the water now up to her chest, She was ready to give up this futile quest when the twinkle of red to her left caught her attention. At first she wasn’t sure what to make of it. It looked like a rock with a gem inside. That didn’t seem natural at all. A tentative poke with her foot resulted in nothing but the stone sliding along the sandy river bottom. Taking a deep breath, she hunkered down in the water wrapping both arms about the stone and tried to stand. The stone proved to be very light weight despite it’s size while she hugged it to her chest carrying it to the shore. Setting it down in the grass she stared at it oddly. Wringing the water from her hair, a familiar feeling caused the feien to roll her eyes. It was radiating a soft magical aura. Wonderful. The last time she had felt such an aura, she had nearly been drown. Before the little voice in the back of her mind could tell her to leave it be, she was already running a tiny hand over the smooth surface. She would keep it, with a little instruction perhaps whatever it was wouldn’t have a taste for murder. The feien looked about for her instructor finding him nowhere in sight. This didn’t worry her, she remembered her way back to the den from here. She was more concerned with this odd stone. Should she take it back, she was unsure that Kione would let her keep it or chastise her for neglecting her meditations. A flutter followed by a solid form landing three in front of her brought her attention to more important matters. Kione had often warned her about magpies in these woods and they had no problem with snapping up small creatures for an easy meal. One beady eye staring down at her as it’s head bobbled about sharply. It lunged forward, great black wings spread wide as it pecked at the stone. Happy that the bird had other things on it’s mind beside food, Banana rolled out of the way of the shape black beak cutting through the air. She clawed at the ground for a weapon of any kind not ready to let her prize be taken away so quickly. The magpie dipped it’s head low clasping its beak about the embedded gem preparing to wing away. Banana faced the large bird, gripping the end of a stick tightly in her hands. as she brought it down squarely across the bird’s beak. It’s shrill cry froze her in her tracks and it whipped about it turned on her. Throwing up her arms to shield the angry talons kicking up to rend her limb from limb, It had barely been given the chance to reciprocate it’s anger on her as a bolt of blue struck it squarely in the chest sending the large bird tumbling end over end. She instead had the daylights knocked from her as the magpie’s wing collided into her and sent her flying along the grass. Kione wrestled with the furious bird making quick work of it with a well placed stinger in it’s eye. It thrashed like a thing possessed struggling to get the Oculai from it’s face while attempting to fly away. Moments seemed to drag on for an eternity as Banana watched dazedly from where she landed. Kione held steadfast to the creature’s head even until with a choked squawk it sunk to the ground dead. The feien watched in fascinated horror as he yanked his stinger free crawling about the carcass as it dripped with sticky black icor. Satisfied that it would trouble them no longer, he flew the short distance to her, pulling her to her feet. “Are you hurt? Did it cut you? My god child, what were you thinking??! It could have killed you!” He barked looking her over worriedly. She shook her head pulling out of his grasp rubbing up at her head. [I’m fine let’s.. just go back. ] She sighed vaguely gathering up the rock and leading them both back to the den in silence.

Quote: Saved spot for RP with Neko When Neko and Merri left for home, Oni stayed behind to fix up the kitchen as Banana drifted off into the hallway nestling in the lap of the gargoyle wall sconce for a bit of quiet time. All in all, it was a nice visit, Oni and Neko seemed to have hit things off. Friendships were always good. Not to mention the strengthening of current bonds. She mouthed on a soft peppermint candy she pilfered from a candy dish on the counter wrapt in thought. Banana's hand drifted up to her face to rub at a faint blush that rose in her cheeks. Oh no.. In her effort to come to terms with her friends' relationship, she had only succeeded and burying herself deeper. Now Merri was added to the equation! She was never sure if she was completely over Globin, and just when she had hoped to find some clarification in all of this, she started to fall for Merri too. What a mess. The small feien thought back on the time she had spent with Merri and Globin. In the sparse hours they had conversed, she had learned so much about them both. It was an awkward situation truth be told. Maybe it was just that term she had often heard refered to as a 'crush'? Breaking off another bit of the candy, she huddled down further into the gargoyle's lap. She decided to worry on other things. She hadn't seen Nhu since the night they argued, and if Banana had anything to say about it, they still wouldn't. It seemed like forever and a day ago that all of that happened, yet it hadn't been more than a month at least. Hold a tick...she was.. the girl counted on her fingers.. 3 months old now. Wow! How time -did- fly! She had to admit she did feel different than she used to feel in this place she called 'home'. She was bound to her father, but she had grown accustomed to the life away from home. Everything seemed so foreign to her now. It never seemed so bad the last time she left the house, but then, she had never been away for quite so long before. Her ear pricked as she heard Oni rinse out the last few cups and set them on the rack to dry from her gargoyle perch. Rolling to her feet, she hopped from the stoney beast's lap and winged around the corner. The kitchen was cleaned and the dishes were put away. There was her father, looking about for something else to clean or wipe down. His expression was one of confusion and sadness, his lips twitching into a quick smile as she fluttered into view. He pulled a chair from the table and sad down upon it wearily patting the table before him. Obeidiantly, she fluttered down and set herself in an indian-style sitting position before him looking to him expectantly as he gave a deep sigh. "Look at you, You've changed quite a bit since I've seen you last." Oni cooed softly in a hushed tone, his head resting against the backs of his wrists. " I see you've put on a bit of muscle too. Not bad." Banana smiled, rocking a little as she listened to him speak. She hadn't noticed the slight definition in her arms before, it was almost amusing. "So.. training huh?" Oni said breaking a moment of uncomfortable silence, " You learn alot of things did ye?" She nodded to him, [ I want to be stronger, father. I want to learn how to take care mf myself. Though I don't think I can continue to train under Kione. ] She looked a little saddened by this and sighed. Petting the top of her head lightly with a finger, the feien smiling a bit. "No worries lovie, I'm sure you'll find someone who can help you out. I'm rather proud of you that you're taking on such a mature task. " Banana chewed at her bottom lip, interally arguing with herself before she sat back down raising her hands to gesture to him, [ I can help you get better, I mean, I think I can anyway.. ] She looked to him expecting him to be upset or refuse, instead she was surprised to see him smile at her warmly. "You want to help me get better? That's very big of you. Though even I don't understand how I should help myself, dearest. You are the first to actually to help me get rid of this thing, well, aside from mother.. your grandmother rather. Adopted, but still.." He started to ramble a bit and she waved up to get his attention. [ I will help you no matter what. ] Smiling, he nodded gently and held his hand aloft to her. "Having you here has helped alot.. but we shall see."

Shop RP 12/03/04 2/12/2004 ((compiled from the shop, borrowed from Sycorax. ^_^ ))Ursa Sycorax had dropped Ursa off at the shop, and set out on her own to buy a latte and read a apper at a nearby Starbuck's. Ursa approved of this. She didn't like having to get dragged around, but she was certain she'd be able to remember the way in after this. Certainly, she could handle herself on the streets. She pittied any bellicose birds that crossed her flighpath.
And so the ancient floated into the shop, cloth wings billowing out behild her. Her hands were on her hips, and she surveyed the scene with a critical eye. This was, she confirmed, the place where she'd been reborn. She recognized it immediately. It seemed far less impressive, now that she was past the confusion of emergence. She flicked her tail in annoyance.
Still, Ursa had been 'born' here. Or reborn, at least. This was Ursa's domain. She looked upon it, posessively.
"Yanvir? Is anyone here?" she called, commandingly. Sycorax had said that this Yanvir, who went around ressurecting people, cold hide in the shadows. Ursa intended to be thorough, but she could not see in the dark so well. "If so, show yourselves"
Ursa wanted answers, and she intended to get them. Banana Tango The descision wasn't made instantly, Banana had talked it over with Kione. She had potential but unfortunately, she was not cut out for the brutality of war just yet. The Oculai did agree to continue to help her get over her phobia of the shop. Every little bit helps. Following the directions that he wrote down for her to the shop, she paused before the door unsurely. She'd had never been to the shop on her own and it seemed so much more intimidating now. She would have had a change of heart had something brightly colored caught her attention. Was that a feien? She squinted through the glass. Blast, couldn't get a good veiw. Her curiousity getting the better of her, she flew around to find the open window into the shop. The feien before her was a sight indeed. Never had she seen one like this. Setting her gear down on the sill fluttering closer cautiously. Ian and Aria Ianios flew into the shop, lagging behind him was Aria. He had come to visit Celaien's gemstone while she came to just hang out. Once into the stop, Ian stopped, Aria nearly slamming into him. "Hey!" she cried, peering aring his shoulder. Ianios didn't answer, staring at the new feien. He'd never seen her before! "Aria, who's that?"She shrugged. "Lets go find out?"Ian nodded, and flew down to where the green and blue feien was. Odd, it was almost like he and Aria had bred judging by her colors. "Hi!" he called cheerfully. "I'm Ianios and this is Aria!"Aria waved, moving out from behind her brother. Ursa Ursa turned in midair, when a flash of yellow caught her eye. Something yellow was buzzing twards her - a small chit of a thing, really. She beckoned her closer with one clawed hand. Ursa might have been born the day before yesterday, but she still recognized a child when she saw one. One of the many things she knew, without knowing why.
She was confident in her knowledge, in spite of its murky origins.
"You there! Come closer, girl, I won't bite. I already ate lunch," Ursa nodded, slightly, in welcome. It wasn't Yanvir, but it would do. She was satisfied to be making some progress. "What's your name? Do you know this place? I'm looking for one of our kind, who goes by Yanvir. He brought me back from the dead."
Ursa said that last sentence matter-of-factly, as though people getting brought back from the dead was something that happened every day. For all she knew, it WAS.
Ah! There were more. These ones were larger - adults. Ursa waved them over as well. They would come to her, of course.
"Hello," she said, businesslike. "Are either of you Yanvir?" Ian and Aria Ianios shook his head. "Nope, never met him or her before. Have you?" he asked, turning to Aria. She shook her head. "No...there are still a lot of feien I've never met."The green one nodded, then rubbed his chin. He had heard the newcomer mention she was once a gemstone. Well now...then it meant Cel could be brought back. Wonderful! Cascati Taking in what was veritably a gaggle of Feien was something very close to intimidating; but Cascati had already given Rose the slip (which was as difficult as getting a mouse to eat cheese) and, well, hell, there was no time like the present. He'd already gotten through the gauntlet of Div and Nero, Irisa and Neruo, and - Quantel. He'd been skulking around on the shelves for a few moments, touching fabric, the sharp corners of things; now there was a flock of Feien gathering at the fore, like so many colourful butterflies. The most colourful butterfly was in the middle, powerfully built. She was - Casca's mind closed around junoesque like a crab in a trap; more practically, she could probably eat him if she liked. He hoped he looked particularly delicate, meatless, and with fragile splintery little bones. Sigh. It was so tiresome being a juvie. Cascati flitted like a pale grey moth down to the edge of the little circle, selfconsciously patting his hair back into some semblance of shape, and attempted to look winsome. "My, this looks like a party, honeys. May I gatecrash?" Banana Tango Being spotted halted her in her tracks a moment or two. The corner of her mouth drew in slightly, pursing her lips as she fluttered closer at the gesturing. Okay, this wasn't a bad start so far but now fir the inital hurdle. Brought back from the dead? That caught her off guard slightly, but she didn't wish to be rude. Last thing she needed was to make an enemy so soon and this one would probably break her in two. She gestered to her throat shaking her head following it up with writing on paper motion against her palm. Holding up a finger she returned to her gear, rooting about in it for her paper, a bee stinger and a tube of paint. Returning to the feien, she wrote down, ' I am mute. I cannot speak, but my name is Banana Tango. I don't know of a Yanveer. What is your name if I may ask?' Ian and Aria Aria giggled at the small grey feien, marveling over his hair. How utterly gorgeous! "Sure, you can crash the party." she stated. Ianios glanced at the pretty yellow feien. She was still a child, but still..she was awful cute. He waved at her, smiling. "Howdy."Ursa Mute? That was unfortunate. Well, at least the girl wasn't being obnoxious and weepy about it. If there was one thing Ursa couldn't stand - and for someone who was two days old, she was very set in her ways - it was navel-gazers.
"Yanvir is the Feien who brought me back from the dead," Ursa explained, to all and sundry. She seemed to have gathered a crowd. Well, who could blame them? She was large and powerfully built. Rubeneqsue. These frail things looked like a stiff wind would knock them over. She hoped she wouldn't need to babysit them. These people should eat more and toughen up - especially the adults.
What sort of society had she been ressurected into? Was that why this Yanvir brought her back?
"My name is Ursa, sweetie. Or at least that's what I'm calling myself," Ursa paused. "If none of you are Yanvir, I should ask who you are." Ian and Aria Ianios blinked. Maybe she hadn't heard. Ah well. He'd introduce them again. "Name's Ianios, but you can call me Ian. This is Aria." He gestured to Aria, who was still looking at Cascati's hair. Cascati Casca bowed to Aria, smiling, all flourish and endearing grin. Another adult, softer than Quantel, all long blue hair and sweet smile. Interesting. "Thank you, sweetheart. I hate to gatecrash, but such is life. I'm Cascati, by the way, but I'll simply die if you don't give me a nickname. 'Cascati' is so stiff." And there was the other little yellow juvie, all bright hair and big eyes, holding up a sign like a hobo at a train station. It only took a glance to get the gist; the ice feien cocked an eyebrow. "Banana Tango? That's... unusual. Piquant. I like it. Enchante. Do you know sign language, dearling?" He made a movement with his hands, complicated and laboured as he obviously tried to think it out. "Not that that would help much. I think I know all of 'turtle'. Well, we could talk about turtles, no?" Banana Tango Banana mouthed the name to herself it was a familiar it seemed or sounded that way at least, but still unique none the less. The titter of other voices caused her to Stare about at the amassed crowd for a moment in stupified awe. Banana looked back to the larger feien again and smiled crookedly. It was amazing how quickly groups gathered in this place. She wrote down on the back of the paper large enough to show them all, 'Hello, Everyone' It was the best she could manage and still have room to write clearly. She switched to a new peice and held it up to Casca, ' Yes I know sign language, though I am not sure who else does. ' Once it had been shown around she wrote on a different sheet handing it to Ursa, ' Excuse me for not understanding fully but what do you mean brought back from the dead? Isn't death final?' Ursa Ursa was getting restless. All of this chit-chat was getting her nowhere. Ianios gave her greetings and nothing more. Aria was whittering like a juvenile over the hair of an actual child - disturbing, really. Cascati's speech was full of frippery and lacking in any sort of substance, and the mute girl was getting drowned out by the others. This was very much an unproductive mess.
Well, she'd asked for it.
"Who is in charge here, then? Do you know?" she asked Ianios.
Surely someone must be in charge. Ursa fought not to be snappish. Small-talk was not her style, but she needed information. Aria Aria giggled. "A nickname? Alright." She had to think for a second. Cas? Well that was almost too normal, but then Ianios was Ian. So what would be good for such a cutie? Hmmm... She looked him over, all swirly marked and all. Swirl? Cutie? Cassy! She laughed. "I'm calling you Cassy!" she remarked, grinning from ear to ear. Cascati rosemilk Ianios, Aria, Banana Tango - good God, she needed a shorter nickname, stat - Ursa. What a crowd. Cascati was going to need a notebook to commit all the names to proper and respectful memory. And maybe he needed to learn more sign language. Other than turtle. And find out whoever 'Yanvir' was. That name sounded familiar. He'd heard it bandied around in Emperial's house, generally in tones of frank disgust or horror. Or annoyance. Or all three. "The name does sound familiar - madame," he added, nodding his head respectfully to Ursa. His blue-white hair shivered down his pale shoulders. "Not that that's helpful at all, I know, alas. Je ne sais pas. But as for who's in charge - that's Corvus, alpha beta gamma, the Feien Summoner." He knew that much. Ursa She looked back at Banana.
"I was a gemstone. We become them when we die. For reasons I'm unsure of, I was brought back. This is why I need to see Yanvir."
The kid seemed to know even less than Ursa. Was she that young? Or was it simply that NO one was in charge, and this place was chaotic and tiresome? Maybe THAT was why Ursa had been brought back - to whip these people into shape. Cascati Cassy. He might as well have invited her to braid his hair and put ribbons in it, and then had a sleepover. Oh, well, it could have been worse; Cascati laughed despite himself. Cassius has a mean and hungry look."Cassy," he repeated, and flipped his hair. "I only hope I can live up to the cute, my honey. Should I call you Arry and we can be twins, or do you like Aria?" Ursa "I see," Ursa nodded at Cascati, with a slight smile. "Thanks, honey."
She still didn't much hold with the frippery, but at least the boy was getting somewhere.
"Summoner, eh? Well, he didn't summon ME," Ursa stretched, lazily. Anyone who wanted to be in charge of HER was going to have to earn it. "Perhaps I should speak with him regardless."
He certainly didn't seem to enforce much discipline among his people. Not that any of the things she saw here could possibly challenge anyone for power, she supposed. Yeande "In charge?" A subtle voice came from the doorway, followed by a soft snort of amusement. "Good luck. Half the time we don't know, the rest of the time we only THINK we know and then find out someone else has been pulling the strings." Yeande flew into the shop, black wings spread wide as she moved to land near Ursa and looked at the taller feien critically. This one was new... but there was something about her that reminded Yeande of Arturo and Semella... was this one an ancient as well? "If you're looking for Yanvir, he's generally through that tunnel there." She pointed towards a hole in the wall where she had first travelled to deliver Corvus' message to hte bizarre little feien. "However, if you don't hear him screeching from here, chances are that he's not at home right now, or is sleeping for his one hour a day." Banana Tango The sharpe tone made Banana want to straighten imediately. It wasn't scary but it demanded respect that was for sure. She gave a shrug and unable to really answer the question, but she did want to help. 'I am not sure but there was another feien I think his name was.. Corus?' That got scratched out, 'Corvus? He seemed to be someone important.' It was vague but it was the best she could manage. The gears in her head shifted and turned at the thought of gemstones Surely not like the one she had found, right? She hoped not anyway. She blinked and looked past Ursa to the newest member of the group. She felt a lump rise in her throat and she swallowed deeply. If at anytime she would ever become aware of how small she was, the time was now. Ursa Ah! Now this one looked like HER. Or approximately so. Ursa's smile grew, in greeting.
"I'd thought as much," Ursa gestured towards the new Feien. Double wings, double ears... and while still scrawny, this one at least had the claws to maybe make a go of a fight. "Any leader worth his salt wouldn't let people go around ressuecting others on a whim, which is what happened to me."
She held out a hand for the newcomer to shake.
"Ursa," she said, shortly. "I was dead. Now I'm not. You look more like me than the rest of this lot - were you brought back as well?"
At least she knew where to find this Yanvir, now. She'd hunt the boy down and toss him like a ragdoll if she had to, although she supposed she should be happy to be alive. From what she remembered, being dead wasn't exactly unpleasant, but... feh. She wanted her answers sooner rather than later. Cascati "Sounds like the exact kind of Feien Emperial would be bonded to," the little wild-haired juvenile said candidly, and grinned; he put both his hands behind his back and attempted to look endearing again, but the eyes didn't quite make it. " De rien, Madame Ursa, don't mention it - Miss, you're Yeande, aren't you?" He'd heard of her, too, though because all of his information came secondhand through Rose, considered that 'Corvy's girlfriend!' probably wasn't appropriate. Considering Yeande, more like Corvus' evil battle queen, or even more likely, the Feien woman who makes Corvus her little b***h. Corvus was probably going to be one hell of a Summoner if he was associated with this. Yeande "Yeande," she answered, taking Ursa's hand in a firm grasp, although it was obvious she didn't have the strength of the other woman. It was hard to say if she was just introducing herself, or answering Cascati's question as well, as her gaze slipped to the boy with one brow lifted to regard him. "I'm afraid I'm not like you, in the sense that I'm not a reincarnated Feien. I only know of one other that fits that description... Semella, a rather kindly Rain element. I've merged with a gemstone, as did Corvus and another of our kind who's off questing with his daughter." She smiled to the woman then, liking her matter-of-fact attitude. Finally, someone who didn't tack purple prose onto everything. "It's good to meet you Ursa. From your words, I assume your reincarnation happened recently? That had to have been either Yanvir or Corvus. From what I've heard, Julius is the only other one with the ability, and he absolutely abhors the idea. For an immortal, he fears death too much." Ursa Ursa seized Yeande's hand in a powerful grip, and gave it a firm shake, before retrieving it and crossing her arms.
"Semella? I'll have to seek her out, then."
Then, what Yeande had said actually hit her. Hit her like a Feien-sized two-by-four to the back of the head.
"Wait," she said, warily. "What do you mean, 'merged'?" Ian and Aria Ianios shrugged. He really didn't know all that much about the leaders of the feien, if there was any. He glanced at Aria, who was giggling. He shook his head. "Arry? Nah, Aria's fine with me." she told Cascati. Ianios smirked slightly, just listening to the others talk. It was a good way to get information. He saw Yeande enter and smiled. Always a pleasure to see her. "Greetings, lovely lady," he said to Yeande. Cascati That startled Cascati out of any complacency; his next question was quite sincere. "What's a reincarnation, honeys? I mean, I know the term, and I've heard it mentioned in the House, but I've never met a living breathing Feien reincarnation." Julius, for one, was as elusive as Rose's socks. Yeande "Merged," Yeande replied, trying ot find a way to say it. "Corvus found several feien gemstones... and Julius offered us the chance to merge with them, since reincarnation wasn't an option. We took the stones into us, and gained some of the powers, abilities and physical traits of the former feien." She heard Ianios and waved to him, although her attention stayed on Ursa. Cascati "Merged with dead Feien," Cascati murmured. "My God, how delightfully morbid." OniAja A reincarnation and a merging! two things she was not aware of. Just how much of her own people had she been a stranger to? The idea was as offputing as it was intriguing. Not wishing to interupt she merely listened to them both speak. This Yeande had a desceased feien within her? How did -that- work? She had so many new questions but now seemed not the time for any of them. Ursa Ursa nodded at Cascati, curtly. He was calling THEM 'honeys'? She snorted with amusement. Silly little boy.
"A reincarnation is bringing a dead Feien corpse, a gemstone, back to life. That's what I am. A ressurected corpse."
She repeated the words that she'd said to Sycorax, days ago. "This old girl's got some life in her yet."
Then her tail cracked, whip-sharp, and she focussed all of her piercing yellow gaze on Yeande.
"So you mean to tell me that if I hadn't been brought back, I would have been... taken into someone else I didn't even know? Consumed? My corpse used up like a powerup in some blasted videogame, with no thought to my life or my wishes? Is that what this Julius does?" Ursa frowned, contemptuously. The very idea sent shivers up her spine. She could have been merged... consumed! Devoured cannibalistically by some lackadaisical nitwit! Some weakling! Such a thing was NOT acceptable. Ursa was practical, but not so practical as to advocate digging up the graves of strangers for power.
Then again, maybe that was fine, for Feien. She didn't know. She didn't know a lot of things. She's been ressurected naked and alone. All she had to reply on was gut feeling, and a thrill of terror that insisted she remain herSELF.
"Ah, but I must be mistaken. Our people can't be so callous. Did you merge with a friend? A loved one? My condolences." Cascati "Where the dead can walk and the blind can see," Cascati said languidly. "Death appears to be a less unbreakable barrier here than I thought. Though, madame Ursa, you're very pretty for a zombie." Yeande was Merged with a gemstone. Ursa was reincarnated. Was anybody here not practicing some form of necrophilia? Aria looked like a normal adult, as did Ianios, and Banana was obviously just a juvie, but as for the other two... Yeande "Thank you," Yeande said softly, smiling to Ursa. There was no way in hell she was going to tell this woman that she'd laid eyes on the stone for the first time only moments before merging with it. So instead, she neither confirmed or denied it. "And no, not all stones are merged. We have one currently that was a Feien my bonded was very fond of. She died due to neglect, as so many seem to do recently. He hopes to possibly bring her back later... or if that isn't possible, to give her stone to one that he knew she would have gotten along with in life." Ian and Aria Rynn Ianios glanced over to Cel's gemstone when Ursa asked Yeande if she had merged with a loved one. He sighed, then nudged Aria. "We gotta get going," he said, whispering to her. Aria nodded, and he turned back to the others. "Sorry, folks, we got to get going. Was a pleasure meeting you all." Ursa Still.. that was wrong. That was VERY wrong. Ursa would have to ask the human to make sure that such a horrible fate did not befall her, as well. Anyone who would do that, who would merge with a gemstone with no thought for the entire LIFE it must once had had, simply for power, was disgusting. Ursa would crush such a person. THat was all that sick, power-hungry trash deserved.
Yes, her return definitely had a purpose. She understood now.
"But you said that this Julius had the gemstones. So he took your loved one from you and THEN merged you? Does he keep a stockpile of the anonymous dead for special occasions?" she pressed. "That cannot be allowed to continue. This person must be stopped." Cascati " Au revoir, sweethearts," the Ice juvie said, barely batting an eyelid. "Until we meet again." Banana Tango That -was- very offputting. She sighed inwardly thankful that her bonded wasn't so neglectful. Or at least, she -hoped- he wasn't that way. Hugging her papers to her chest, she furrowed her brow as she looked over Yeande. Had she not known any better she would have thought she was another creature entirely. But to merge with a friend, that couldn't be bad, right? The thought that someone would take that person into themselves instead of bringing them back was what got her. Then again she wasn't really the best judge of those situations... Yeande Yeande blinked, regarding Cascati for a stunned moment before she answered Ursa. "No... most of the stones are with others, being kept safe. There are some cases when a stone can't be reincarnated, for many reasons." Cascati Lovely. A Feien reformer. Frankly, Cascati couldn't care less what happened after he passed away; he would rather have been merged and cause some unsuspecting Feien merry hell than rot away somewhere else. Not that he was planning on dying any time soon. "Let the dead bury the dead," he said conscientiously, velvety; and he crossed himself. "Julius will be judged eventually." Raphael Raphael entered the shop with an oddly vacant look on his face, chewing on a bit of melting snow as if he were a toddler sucking his thumb. He looked at the feien conversing further inside the shop as he touched down on the windowsill, but noticed, with a good bit of relief, that their backs were turned and they were otherwise not annoyed with him. So he contented himself with watching them from the windowsill, idly staring, somehow forgetting that it was impolite to stare. Ursa "So that's it," Ursa said, in a low, dangerous voice. "That's it? Does no one here speak for the dead?"
Ursa would make herself strong. No, she was already strong. She would make herself stronger. She would go the this Yanvir and she would see what could be done. She had to. The only alternative was a fate worse than death, for all of her old comrades. And she had the feeling that they must have been comrades. Some of them. Maybe.
Ursa was a stranger in a strange land, brought forward to a new age because it was lacking something from the past. She had no name and no memory. All she had was herself, and her principles. Those were all the weapons she needed.
"Would no one here know me? Or anyone from my time? Other than this Semella? I must have died long ago," Ursa mused, her fury fading, but still throbbing in the background of her consciousness. "I look noticeably different from the others, and so do you, Yeande. Why did your old friend appear different from the rest?" OniAja This was alot of new information to digest. The way things sounded, her training seemed that much more imperative. Not just for the fact she may be drawn into someone but the idea that she may NOT come back at all. She didn't wish to incure the wrath of any other feien but she didn't think too highly on it either. She raised a hand before she realized that she even had. Staring at her traitorous limb in dumbfounded resignation. It was a start? Yeande "She was an ancient as well," Yeande replied, sighing. "From wh at we've been told, the Ancients have been dying for quite some time. The only way that the Feien have been able to survive is to bond with humans. The reason that you have been able to be reincarnated is because a human agreed to bond with you... those that are not so lucky have only the choice of merging to live in some fashion again." Cascati Cascati laughed, shrugging at Banana in a very ah, well fashion. "Don't worry about it, Tango-honey. Frankly, it's all going over my silly little head." In some fashion. Ursa versus the world. That thought had him ready to hide in some safe, forgotten niche. Ursa "But you wouldn't be yourself," Ursa shook her head. "Merging with someone you would hate, who was against your principles, would be like being ressurected into hell. Like a violation of your mind, of your existance... wouldn't it be? It would be half a life. Less than that."
Wouldn't it? Ursa was confident in her instincts. if she thought it was so, it likely was. She had a strong personality. She couldn't imagine it being watered down, and fed into someone she didn't even know.
The shiver hit her again. When she was asleep, as a gemstone, was she dreaming then?
She surveyed the shop, contemplatively.
"I wonder what it was like, in the old days. I wonder what I was like. I..."
She smiled crookedly.
"Ah, forgive this old girl's ramblings. There's no need for drama."
Cascati Of course there was need for drama. It was entertaining. Cascati wished that some of the conversations could be videotaped for later edification, maybe when he had found a bowl of cherries to eat with it. Popcorn went right to his hips. "I think we all felt a little like this when we were born," he said thoughtfully, resting down on a book, cloaking his wings over his shoulders and stretching back. "Naked, not knowing anything. I still don't know anything, it's terribly tiresome. We'll help you get used to it, Mama Ursa." Yeande "Old girl, hmm?" Yeande said, smiling wryly. "You're looking pretty damned spry for an old lady. I'm hoping that you're able to have a good long life this time around... I'm glad that you're one of the ones that seem to have found a willing human bond." This one... was unique. Yeande was finding herself rather fond of the ancient, and her brusque ways. It was far better than the brown-nosing she saw on so many occasions. Banana Tango She smiled unsurely to Casca, He seemed like a pleasent one. She wasn't sure about being called honey though. It made something in her mind tingle. She shrugged it off though, her small shoulders bouncing in a polite chuckle. Ursa Ursa smiled at Cascati, bemused. The boy had attitude. Someone needed to take him in hand - tell him to drop and give her twenty, or the like. He seemed to mean well, though.
"Oh, I wouldn't call myself helpless, honey. Though I have no idea how long we live," she turned her smile on Yeande. "And I'd wouldn't call Sycorax willing, so much as bumbling. The woman is a wreck. I need to bring her into line. No matter - it will do her good in the end, and I'm sure she'll thank me. Were your humans forced, then?"
What a ridiculous notion. Obviously large, lumbering humans should want Feien around, unless they were giggly fools. Cascati "Some of them chose." The ice juvenile's expression changed; he shuddered theatrically. " My human chose. I only wish she would give me a chance to die from neglect. I love my sweet Rose dearly, but she doesn't like to let me out of a single room in case I fall and hurt myself. She's knitting me a scarf. Someone should tell her that my element is ice - " Oh, dear, wait. That was bitching. That was too close. Cascati laughed instead, silvery-light. "I think that most humans like Feien, though, Mama Ursa. We're so small and graceful and sweet and adorable." Yeande The idea of Youko being forced into anything was amusing and Yeande chuckled faintly. "No, no... not forced at all. He was given my bloom as a gift, and took care of me. Later, he bonded with another, a little Ice feien named Shalafi. Unfortunately, there seems to have been a problem with how he was summoned, and he was born blind. Recently a third bloom came as well, and that one is a bit of a handful... his name is Ankou, and Julius says he's a Death element." Banana Tango That thought had never really crossed Banana's mind really, she held the paper in the crook of her arm, dipping the bee stinger in the paint before writing , ' I believe that Oni wanted to bond with me. He does treat me like his daughter.' Ursa Death? Ursa would have to watch out for that. Someone who wielded the power of death should be properly trained and kept in line; given a sense of discipline. Otherwise, all hell might break loose, and from what Yeande said, no one here was equipped to stop that. All sorts of Feien running around the with the power of ressurection, apparently with conflicting principles, other people taking dead bodies into themselves, no clear leader... what was this world she had stepped into? It was a madhouse.
Trying to make order might be futile. It might not. Ursa, at least, could lead an orderly life.
"We're not all adorable, boy. I'm certainly not," Ursa grinned with pride. She was far from some humans' doll. Did Cascati think that he was weak? Poor boy, he just might be right. It wasn't his fault. "And neither is Yeande. You're not even grown. There's hope for you and the girl yet."
'The girl', of course, was Banana Tango. She was simply hovering there. Hopefully because she couldn't talk, rather than because she was afraid to participate in the conversation. Yeande Yeande didn't mind being called 'not adorable'. She was far from it... and knew that she intimidated the hell out of quite a few. "Actually, I may turn him over to you for a bit of training, if you'd be interested. He's a wild one, not altogether an intelligent sort, and tends to not think before he acts." Cascati Cascati gave Ursa a dainty little smirk. "I know, I know, Mama. Merci, c'est gentil. I'll grow big and strong if I eat my vegetables and drink my milk?" Maybe if he ate vegetables and milk for ten years. Delicate was a word you could apply to the ice juvie, and if you didn't like delicate, you could always go full hog and call him scrawny. The biggest part of him was his hair. Ursa "I'd be happy to," Ursa's eyes sparkled, slightly. Yeande had suddenly risen much higher in her estimation. It was good to know that someone else believed in order, here. "I've been dead once. Death does not scare me."
Merging, now, that was another matter, and Ursa was hardly ready to relinquish the life that she'd just discovered. She wasn't about to tell that to these people she'd just met.
"Once I've had a few days to get my bearings and hunt down this Yanvir, that is."
Ursa was very hard to unbalance, and she had taken to her new life with astonishing practicality, for someone who came into being under scuh extraordinary curcumstances. That being said, she needed to teach herself to fight before she decided to try 'training' others. Ursa was many things, but a fake was not one of them. Banana Tango Indeed most of her silence was due to her lack of voice. Constantly tapping people to hand them notes would get annoying soon enough for both parties. Not to mention that signing to a group that possibly didn't know how to translate it would be even more fustrating. No, for now she was more or less content to actually remain in the company and slowly aclimate to it than run off this time. She couldn't help but feel drawn to Ursa in a way. She seemed like everything she was not. She seemed to pridefully raise her head up at being mentioned. A slight smirk playing at the corner of her mouth. Her attention piqued at the mention of training and she looked between Yeande and Ursa with a sort of 'me too??' expression. She was, in a sense in the market for a teacher and this ancient seemed like the best bet so far. Yeande Yeande cursed softly, catching sight of the clock over the counter. "I'm sorry to cut this short, but I must be going. Ursa, I'm glad we met, and I look forward to seeing you again. If nothing else, our address is somewhere in the owner's book over there..." She pointed towards the office door that was currently closed. After saying her goodbyes to the two young Feien as well, she spread her wings. "I'll bring Ankou with me next time I see you so that you can take a look at him. SOMEONE has to be able to knock some sense into him." With that, she aimed for the door, picking up speed as she flew. Ursa "It was good to meet you as well," Ursa nodded in farewell. This Yeande wasn't bad. Direct, and she got things done. People that got things done were high on Ursa's list of people. That she had just made. As of two days ago.
She looked down to see, the tiny mute Feien giving her some sort of... look, with wide purple eyes. Ursa was not good at interpreting these sorta of things. She preferred blunt words.
"And you girl?" Ursa questioned. "You're probably used to being neglected, but there's no cure for that except you standing up and taking attention."
Bravo to her. Such a little thing. Clamoring for attention took nonexistant Feien balls.
"Such as have right now now. Is there anything you'd like? As you can see, I can't offer you much in the way of information," Ursa was smiling, barely. This was as close to 'friendly' as the gruff woman got. Cascati "Goodbye, Yeande," Cascati called out gaily. "Till next we meet. 'Tis twenty years till then." He pushed his shoulders back, joints popping, head tilted up to the ceiling as the ancient among them looked to Banana. The thought of the quiet little juvie getting taught by the adult tickled his fancy. Talk about the meeting of different mountains. "You should train her too, Mama Ursa. You have voice enough for three of her and more." Banana Tango Ursa was right, she'd have to be direct. Unfortunatly her handicap didn't make it any easier, but she was stubborn that way. She had to be. Not wanting to miss what seemed a golden opportunity, she quickly scrawled on a sheet of the paper and help it up to the ancient feien. Gnawing on her bottom lip hopefully. 'Train me as well! I will work hard!' She couldn't get more direct than that. This feien didn't seem the type to wait about and if she didn't jump now she wasn't sure she'd get a second chance. She nodded to Casca as if to emphasize his words. She quickly looked about for something to give an example with. Spying the owner's book, she flipped the paper and wrote down. 'I'm strong, I've been practicing on it! Watch' Fluttering to it she brached herself cupping her hands under the corner of it. It took a moment but the end of the book did rise, not far but it did. She let it back down and turned to them both looking for approval. Cascati Cascati immediately broke into applause, taking the time out to put his fingers to his mouth to give her a piercing wolf-whistle. "There you go, Tango-angel! I couldn't do that with a winch and kneepads. Congratulations, dearling!" It would be extraordinarily useful if they were ever, say, attacked by a library. Maybe he should keep Banana in mind if Rose's Grimorum went rabid. Ursa A slow grin crept over Ursa's visage.
"Have you, now? Very good, girl," Ursa cracked her tail, like a whip. "But not good enough! No matter. We'll fix that up properly."
The girl would learn. Voices? Those were commonplace. Getting attention was about throwing your weight around.
Weight which, admittedly, Tango was lacking in. All in good time.
Ursa's wings fluttered, and she back drifted towards the shop door. This was not an impediment to her being herd. Her voice boomed, naturally.
"If you work hard, you'll become strong. If you slack off, I will break you so fast you don't even feel it. It won't be easy, and it won't be fun, but if you can deal with that then I can deal with you," the girl seemed to have her head on straight, and she didn't look a fool. If she was going to have to discipline some young overpowered hooligan, at least Ursa could have a serious student as well. The best way to cure this disordered society, was surely to keep juveniles from running wild.
Ursa did not think to question why anyone would want to train under her when she was only two days ressurected. Of COURSE they would. She was Ursa. She had been powerful, and she would be powerful. That wasn't even in question.
"I have to go meet my bond, now," Ursa stated. "Prepare yourself. I will meet you here, in a week. If you don't show, I'll assume you're not up to the challenge." Banana Tango Panting slightly from hefting the book, it was very different from carrying the rocks. She was even surprised she got it off the counter herself! Ursa's words brought a wide grin to her face and she nodded affirmatively. She would work hard and become strong. Getting broken meant being a gemstone. That was bad and NOT an option! It seemed almost natural to salute, so she did so. Her heart thudded in her chest at what all this meant. She waited until Ursa had gone before leaping for joy on the counter top. Had she a voice she'd be crowing happily at her success. She quickly got a hold of herself though. Calm down girl, it hadn't even started yet, she thought to herself. She looked to Casca and grinned buzzing off the counter to launch herself at him in a thankful hug. He had helped, and she was just so happy. Things were starting to look better and better. Cascati Cascati wobbled slightly for a moment, completely startled, and then threaded his arms around Tango to hug her tightly in return. He'd never actually, well, hugged, and the engineering seemed mildly complicated at first. She was also a Heat feien, and the warmth was a shock against his cool skin. "See, darling? Of course she'll train you. You just have to make sure she doesn't push you too hard or your pretty self will break, so stand your ground, s'il vous plait. And, look, honey, I remembered - " He untangled his arms from her to hand-sign, not at all well and more than a shade clumsily, but it was clear; congratulations. Banana Tango Realeasing him from the hug, she smiled to Casca IT was nice to sign again. She didn't feel -as- hindered. If even that made sense, [ Thank you,] Then remembering what he mentioned before she added, [ S.C.A.T.I. ] It wasn't the best nickname surely but she was sure he had heard 'Cas' quite a bit. so 'Scati would work she hoped at least. Cascati The other juvenile blinked; and then he burst out into a rather more genuine smile, pleased with himself to have worked out her signs, pleased with her. Well, at least 'Scati' was better than 'Cassy'. It looked better signed, anyway. Like that, he signed back, still laboured, and added out loud; "It's a good nickname, Tango-honey. You'll make me blush. Especially if you smile more. Enough to kill a poor man's heart." Banana Tango She complied with the request it was simple at least. She smiled to him pleasently. Happy that he didn't dislike the name. She barely knew him. Save for that he was quite cold and hugs would probably be few and far between. Cascati "There. Perfect." His grin in return was very white and fleeting; it ended when he looked through out the window, the deepening dark, and sighed in annoyance. "If I don't get back to my bondmate the ambulances will take her away, Tango-angel, out of heart attack - I'll see you again, no?" Casca slithered over to his previous exit, waving at her carelessly. "Take care of yourself, dearheart. We juvies have to look out for each other." And he was gone. Banana Tango Banana waved after him looking back into the empty shop as she landed on the sill by her gear. Maybe it wasn't such a bad place after all. Maybe. She smiled to herself and headed back to Kione's den.

Banana's Omake Theater Chapter 1Compiled by Ice Queen Tango with the Banana 12/16 Silva stepped through the door, looking around the empty store and cursing himself. He had fallen for that line so damn easily. Ice was good... He shrugged, then admitted to himself that he was curious as to who would live with the name "Banana Tango." The kid had to have guts to go out in public. It was time for Banana's regular forray into the shop to get over her fear. Using the directions Kione wrote down for her, she flew to the shop in no time. She didn't bother landing on the window sill as she entered the shop through the window as she was used to doing. She winged her way to the counter top, unwrapping her new scarve from about her shoulders and shook the collected show from her dreads. Stupid cold... stupid snow always getting into places unwelcome. Silva looked up as a flash of yellow caught his eye. Yellow... huh... He shrugged, taking to the counter and heading for the newcomer, his toothpick between his teeth a question in his mind. Why in the hell were there so many cute but too damn short females around here? "Hello, Darlin. You look a little... cold." He called out in his usual drawl. He barely restrained himself from offering to help warm her up. But the thought made a smirk pull at his lips. Banana glanced over her shoulder at the voice behind her, taking a moment to try and focus on who was talking to her. She had a look of mild irratation on her face, one because of the snow...the other was the rather.. familiar pet name. She blinked turning to face Silva and look at him expectantly. Something about the look in his eye making the sparse hairs on the back of her neck crawl. She did, however offer a polite wave to the stranger. His smirk turned to a grin at the look. It was honestly the first time he had run into a female that didn't seem to like him. Save for Sunil, that was... but she had gotten over it soon enough. "I'm looking for a feien by the name of Banana Tango." He told her, restraining from calling her darlin again. He needed to get his information, if she had any, first. Then he could play with her. "You wouldn't happen to know her, would you?" She made no effort to hide the suspicion in her expression as she folded up her scarf. Why..would a feien she never met before be looking for her? The creepy way he was eyeballing her didn't help matters any either. Ears canting back slightly, she signed then pointed to herself, [ That would be me. Who are you? ] Well, s**t... He stopped, his expression going blank as he thought things through, then he remembered something. He turned slightly, not looking at her, not even thinking about the fact she hadn't spoken. He had to get this feien a gift. She didn't even like him, how the hell was he supposed to get her something she would like if she didn't even like HIM? He turned back again, his eyes cool as he looked at her this time, evaluating the muscular structure that he hadn't seen in most of the other females. "You work out?" He asked, figuring it was best just to get to the point. "Fight?" The smaller feien quirked a brow when her answer resulted in him turning away from him. She thought a moment or two about taking the chance to flutter off, but no.. that would serve no purpose at all. Once he had turned around again she raised her hands, this time trying to sign out each letter of the words to him as Neko had shown her, [ Who are you? ] The odd request caught her off guard, fight? She didn't even know his name and this guy wanted to duke it out! Maybe it was this odd fellow's way of making friends? He -did- ask after all. Sure, a friendly spar.. it couldn't hurt could it? With a shrug, she gave him a vague nod and planted her feet on the counter to ready herself. Silva blinked. She thought he wanted to fight? Well hell, why not? He reached down, taking his chain off and tossing it to the side before bringing his fists up. He wasn't planning on hurting her, just seeing if what he was thinking of would go to good use. Or TOO good of use, he thought dryly, motioning for her to make the first move. Hell, if she gave him a decent spar he would even tell her his name. Taking the offer, the smaller feien pushed off from the counter. Keeping low to the glass surface as her wings humming loudly as she launched herself his way. her hands out ready to grapple at him. He shoved himself into the air right before she would have hit him, noting absently that she was fast... but not quite fast enough. With that thought he dropped to the counter again, but this time where she had started from, waiting for her response. Dammit, she half expected him to move out of the way fortunately angling herself to skid to halt on the counter top. She rose to her feet, crossing her arms across her chest, nope, this time she would be the one to let him go first. She waited to see if he was going to follow through, when he hadn't, she dropped her arms at her sides and gestered exaggeratedly at him. It was almost as if she was taunting him. Her arms dangling at her sides as she had a ' is that all?' look on her face. Her henna'ed wings flexing and folding against her back steadily. The look changed to a very 'ho hum' lip pout. He snorted, then lunged forward, his hands ready to grab, only to stop before punching, and kicking instead. Now it was her turn to smirk as she readied herself for his attack. He was fast though, a little too fast as a rogue fist connected sharply with her jaw. Shaking the stars from her eyes, she just managed to block a kick. The movement coming as second nature as she grabbed at his ankle in her right hand, pushing roughly on the back of his knee with her left.. It would be a second or two before she realized that she had performed a move she had been practicing for almost a month now, save Silva's leg served in place of the toothpick staff she was used to. But now was not the time to be marveling at one's own abilities.. He caught himself before his face met the floor, but didn't shove himself up. Instead he scissor kicked outwards to catch her ankle and trip her to the ground as well. He didn't plan on eating glass alone, after all Had she the voice, she would have yelped as she was brought down heavily on her side as her leg was kicked from under her. Still trying to blink off the bleary haze from his punch and now a fall, she scrambled away from him to get her barings. This guy was dangerous! Even moreso than Fifth!. Maybe he was just as psycho. what had she gotten herself into?! He sat up, a strange look on his face as he leaned back on his hands. Then he did something unexpected. He started to laugh. "As short as you are, darlin. To take me to the ground..." He shook his head, still grinning as he shoved himself to his feet, holding out his hand. "Thanks for the fight, Banana Tango. Name's Silva." This guy just got weirder and weirder by the second. At least from what she could tell the match was over. With a sigh of relief, Banan sank down, plopping down on her rear. She wasn't winded, but bit more at ease thanks to the laughter. She smiled, a hand reaching up to rub at her tender cheek. She recoiled mildly with a soft hiss though grit teeth. That was definitly going to be sore in the morning.. [ Nice to meet you, Silva, why were you looking for me, if I may ask..? ] She signed, he seemed to understand her better as she signed out each letter. It was a start at least.. He stopped, remembering that he wasn't supposed to tell. "Now darlin..." He siad, crouching down in front of her, his arms resting on his knees. "I can't quite tell you just now. But you'll find out soon enough." Just when she thought things were calming down, there he went again sending those creepy little shivers down her back. Her wings snapping together against her back as if trying to calm them, smiling up at him quirkily. Somthing in his tone made her uneasy but she hid it to the best of her abilities. [ Pardon me for asking, I've just never seen you before today.. and couldn't think as to why you were looking for me. ] He nodded, standing. "Makes sense. But I can't tell you." He shrugged, taking a step back. "Hell, maybe I was just looking for a new sparring partner. You're good. Might want to keep your guard up a little better." He chewed on his toothpick, looking thoughtful. "And put some ice on that cheek, darlin. You're getting a bruise." Again her hand rose to cover her cheek carefully at his words. Her brow furrowing slightly, how ws she going to explain -this- to her father? She sighed getting to her feet to retrieve her scarf. A sparing partner? Hmm.. she'd have to think on that.. [ You're quite good yourself. I'm surprised I kept up with you, your're fast! ] He nodded, shrugging. He had met faster. Been beathen by faster. And bragging wasn't his style, surprisingly enough. "You know, darlin... the most dangerous man I ever met didn't say a word. Didn't like me, either. Guess you have a lot in common with him. If you're looking for a spar, drop me a note." She nodded at the offer wrapping her scarf about her neck loosely. She'd have to tell Ursa about this guy. She wasn't too sure about people she didn't know looking for her for things she knew nothing about.. She'd have to ask about.. He turned, heading off of the counter as she went off into thought. That hadn't gone the way he was used to things going, but oh well. What he had in mind would work for her, and that was all that mattered. He didn't bother looking back as he headed out the door. He had said what he considered a farewell, after all. And he had been right about the guts part. She could back up her name. Unless it was verbally, that was... With that thought he left, deciding it wasn't his job to take on. The door slammed shut behind him, letting in a cold breeze for a second that died down. Banana shuddered in the icey blast of wind, her meager little scarf not enough to sheild her from it. She glared toward the door and set about heading home. Silva was right, she had to get something on her cheek before the swelling got too out of hand. Lingering a moment or two not quite ready to brave the cold, Banana sat down and inspected her faint wounds. Her side ached and there were the beginings of a few bruises on her arms from blocking. She gave a disheartened sigh. Oni was not going to be happy about this.. She silently groaned standing up just to notice a faint twinkle on the counter top. That boy forgot his necklace! She chewed at her lip scooping up the jewelry and fluttered to the door to leave. The only thing to greet her was the numbing cold and an empty street. Dammit, she didn't know where or how to find him either..Perhaps Oni knew. For now, it was the best idea she could come up with. She'd have a better time figuring it out at home, she'd take it with her for now. She would feel bad if the guy lost his necklace afterall and she did nothing to help out. With that, she fluttered down the street toward home.

Banana's Omake Theater continuing from 'Tango with the Banana' Penn sat backwards in one of the kitchen table chairs, the small feien in his hands. He catured to her motheringly his arms bowed injust enough to act as if he were shielding the poor dear. Long graceful fingers holding an icewater covered Q-tip to her cheek like a compress as he cooed softly to her over the roar of Oni yelling in the background. "There now lovie.. that should take the swelling down some.. It's okay don't cry.." The Concept's brow furrowed as he continued to comfort and sooth the jittering little feien glaring up at his less than helpful housemate. The boy's hair was touseled wildly about his head, his eyes red from rubbing at them angrily to get rid of the watering. All in all, he looked like a pissed off one horned bull. "..and if I DO find out who did it their a** is DEAD!" The demon yelled storming into the seventh lap of his pacing of the kitchen. The last word was said with such severity it caused both Concept and Feien to jerk in surprise. The corner of Penn's snout wrinkled in a displeased manner as he sat up to address Oni firmly. " Get ahold of yourself, man! Can't you see you're scaring the poor child?" He shot at him coldly taking a moment to redip the Q-tip. "I am upset too but this is no time to fly off the handle." His voice held a tone of irratated concern. Oni gave a disgruntled sigh, Penn was right, he was behaving poorly. He glared down at the tiny chain he had been holding in a white knuckled grip. "You're right.." He sighed again, shaking the hand up and down, letting the lightweight thing bounce in his palm. "..You're right.." He repeated finally taking a seat himself. Banan slipped from Penn's hand to walk over to Oni's arm resting on the table, leaning against it gently. He barely looked to her returning his gaze to the chain in his hand. "Sorry about that.. I shouldn't have been acting that way." He whispered, his voice scratchy as all the yelling caught up with him. Banana shook her head. The last thing she wanted was her father upset and even worse upset at something that was partially her fault. Getting his attention again with a few hard knocks on his arm with her knuckles. [ Father, don't be mad. It was partically my fault. I'm okay, see? ] She gave him a meek smile, signing in relief when it was returned. "Very well dearest.. Now about this locket." He started, "I don't know much I can do to get this returned to it's owner but I'll ask Karma. Oh and speaking we should go over there sometime. I signed you up for a secret santa program the shop was having." he fished a note out of his pocket and held it down for her to see. " I figured it'd be a good way to get you introduced to other feien." Banana stepped back to read the note, her tiny arm waving through the air as she read each line: This is a bit late, I know, but as this is a smallish event, I figure no biggie. This is just a little feien-to-feien Secret Santa. Signup is posted on the shop board, so if you'd like to sign your feien up, just post a reply here saying as much! I'll send out assignments on the 16th, which is in five days, and your feien must buy the other feien a present. They can do it anonymously or in person, and the present doesn't have to be anything big -- something your feien made or a gift from the minishops or a Pixa or something along those lines. Knowing her father's spontinatity, Banana wasn't surprised that he had signed her up without her knowing. Banana rested her chin on her hand in thought on this. She hald already made Oni buy Pixas for people, it did sound interesting to say the least she looked to the wall calender then back to Oni, [ Who am I buying something for? ] "Kookaberra." Penn said off handedly as he cleaned up the make shift med pack he assembled. The tall man had been so quiet, they had forgotten he was even there. [ I know her! ] Banana grinned, wincing to rub at her sore cheek. Okay no smiling so big just yet.. [ She's one of Mrs. Karma's feien, daughter of someone named Talonfrost? No Talonfist? ] "Talonfaust??" Oni blinked clapping his hand on his knee with a laugh, "That sly dog! That's why he ran off! Hahahah hoo.. very well. Then shall we go out to see if we can get a gift for Kookaberra then?" He asked setting the chain down on the table. Both Feien and Concept nodded contently. It had been a long while since they took a carride. The End of chapter 1

Banana's Omake Theater
Tis The Season pt.1Quote: The carride to the plaza was nice, for once. Banana behaved herself with swinging on the ornamental crystal unicorn hanging from the rear view mirror as Oni and Penn chattered back and forth about the different shops they planned to go to. "..I dunno if I should go back in there.. I doubt that Ian fellow would want to see me aggain. "Oni said in an undertone, "You remember the hat incident?" The concept nodded with a wry grin on his face, "And the boxers, and the shirt and th.. you know it's amazing you bought anything at all. Just how -DO- you manage to impale the same display on a rack of scivvies like some obsure national flag?" He mused with a chuckle as Oni pointedly ignored his question, fluttering a finger at the rump of the unicorn making it bobble and sway in a rocking motion. Banana was too busy enjoying the ride to care about underwear and store displays. When she could focus clearly, she opened her mouth into a 'O' shape pointing at the lovely display windows. "We could go to the mainland you know. We haven't been there in ages." Oni said, his voice trailing as he glanced quickly to the flickering lights, dancing snowmen and bowing nutcracker guards. "S'pose we should get some clothing for Kamada? I don't know what the Japanese like ar far as fashion goes." Oni murmured only getting a grunt or two from the Concept. "We could ride the train. I don't have enough gas for that kind of drive." This word train caught in Banana's ear and she fluttered from the ornament to rest on the dashboard just behind the steering wheel. [ What's a train?] She signed. Penn having caught the minute gesturing tugged his chapter book from his armrest and flipped to his bookmark. "Trains are great noisey beasts that hiss and follow each other on great clacking feet in a long row. They have more than one mouth! Why, even more than four at times!" He demostrated with his books opening the covers like the jawes of a great crocodile. "Their heads have massiving glowing eyes and should you be caught in front of one..!" he clapped his book shut sharply, "You'll be snuffed out like a light!" A cruel grin fixed on his long graceful features and Banana, who was quite used to his ...playing, simply leaned away from him. The corner of her top lip curled in mild disgust. That sounded too horrid to be true. Snuffed out like a light indeed..and yet, she couldn't help but wonder just what it would look like. [ And people gladly GO to these things..? ] She gestured in disbelief up at Oni who gave Penn a sidelong glance that bore no aregument. , "Don't worry my dear. They're held by eletric teathers that keep them on their trails. You're safe with us." He reassured. "As trains are NOT beasts and they don't have mouths, they have doors." "Ah but the last bit is true." sung Penn burying his overly long nose into his book his doeish eyes half lidded in mean spirited amusement. Filing out of the car Banana tucked herself away carefully in Oni's hood as she was prone to do. using her scarf like a tarp so she could peek out at the people passing by. The air in Durem smelt heavily of industrial oil and machinery the clattering of many feet on the cobble streets was almost deafening. The young girl had to all but tumble backwards end over end to see the clock tower towering over the main squair like a big steadfast soldier. Oni had no problem wading through the varitable sea of people (noone seemed too eager to bump into boy with a horn protruding from his brow.) but Penn decided to glide up ahead. "Too little shoulder space." She heard him grunt indignantly as he dropped the shawl of his trenchcoat into Oni's arms climbing halfway up a sweet's shop wall to get a good boost. It didn't take too long before they reached the station. This place was packed even more than the street. Mothers consoling their crying babes, old friends laughing heartily at a joke they shared, chatter in every language imaginable from all ends! Banana had to raise her hands to lobes of her ears, preparing to cover them should they pass another one of those screaming pink wigglies in the cloth. She had no experience with human babies, but decided that she wanted no part of that noise! A man with a thick bushy beard was calling out stops over the din. Penn, who towered over the crowd waved the pair over to a loading dock. "Here! This one's going to the main land! Hurry, man!" Everyone around him took a few steps away muttereing to themselves. Banana's mouth was stuck open in a silent scream as Oni's jouseling gate had her bobbing about in his hood. He caught up with Penn, slightly out of breath perchasing a ticket along side his travel companion, who to the dismay of the worker and a few people, wedged himself inside, wings and all. Peeking around Oni's neck, Banana caught sight of the impressive metal car just as the engines let off a angry ear splitting HISSSSSSSS~! Instead of rattling into a ball of fear, the young girl clambered her way to Oni's shoulder to get a better look. No way! -THIS- was a train?! It looked like someone had linked together some sardine cans and poofed them out some. The feien's wings drooped in disappointment. It had no fur, no scales.. It wasn't much of a beast at all! "For the first time in a long while, she had wished her father was wrong. They boarded the train and stood aside Penn who was working his charms on a particularly portly woman as he filched a toffee or two from her gaping purse. Banana shook her head at this, that was until she felt a bit of plastic being shoved into her arms followed by a finger pat on the head. She was now holding a gold wrapped toffee, behind her another handful or so. Now this was more like it, she thought fighting with the wrapper merrily. "Daddy Daddy! I want one of those!!" a mere squeak of a voice spouting up from Oni's thigh called. It caused both feien and demon to look down together at a pudgy faced young girl. Her eyes lit up like great marbles as her bouncing make the tight curls about her face spring and dance wildly. She was pointing up at what Oni had assumed was his horn but Banana knew was herself. The 'daddy' turned his sleepy gaze to the odd pair and blinked twice, the second time however Banana had dove into the fabric of Oni's hood. The man's thick brow furrowed. Must be exhaustion, he thought dismissively and shrugged it off facing ahead. "Behave, Susie.." He gruffed giving her occupied hand a parental tug. "Don't point. It's rude.." The girl groaned dramatically and set about huffing, arms crossed tight. lip poked out. Oni blew a puff of breath up into his drooping bangs with a roll of his eyes. As if on command, the train began to lurch out of the station picking up speed. There weren't many stops before their destination. Most of the people having filed out allowing them to sit down by the window. Oni rested his chin on his hands as Banana sat at the end of his hood watching the world whizz by though the frosted glass of the window. She poked at it drawing little faces in the condensation as she sucked upon the end of her buttered toffee. A voice cracked over the intercome confusingly as Penn and Oni rose to their feet. "That's us." The boy sighed adjusting his coat. As they trudged out on the the loading dock, He looked about, squinting in the glare of the Christmas decorations. "S'pose we should get a map." "Don't need one." Penn said matter of factly holding up a map in two dainty fingers. "Oh good.. now we should buy return tickets as well so we--" "Don't need those either." The Concept grinned sliding Oni a pair of tickets. He caught the boy's incredulous look and clapped him on the arm, a cheerful glimmer in his eye. "Did I ever tell you I love having fingers?" He purred walking down the street merrily. "Ahh this place! Sad I couldn't bring my huggybear. Do you suppose he'd like a wonder woman costume this year?"Oni made it a point NOT to answer that as he shook his head and walked after Penn staring down at the procured items. Well, as long as they weren't caught, this ...did..make shoping alot easier with more money to use. Banana all the while was snickering to herself, fluttering quickly to duck into the collar of Penn's jacket. He was in the midst of a heartfelt chorus of Joy to The World.

Meanwhile Outside of the front door on the porch lies two small gifts with a note underneath. Neko I know it isn't much, but I was thinking about you, so I thought I'd get you a gift for the holidays. In case I don't get a chance to speak with you before the holidays, I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and New Year's, and just a happy rest-of-the-year anyway.
From, Neko Merrimack Banana,
I haven't forgotten about you during this... gift giving season. I hope that you're doing well, and that your training isn't tiring you out or anything. I got you a gift... It isn't much, but I thought you might like it. Have a happy Christmas, and I'll perhaps see you soon.
Merrimack Neko PS: He means well, he really does. He just sucks at saying NICE things, and seems to come out rude anyway. Merrimack PPS: Have I ever mentioned how much I hate my bond? I hate her very much. Neko PPPS: Merri loves you! He just doesn't know how to say it right! Merrimack (in a messy scribble) PPPPS: I DIDN'T SAY THAT!!

Later On I've decided to do this the easy way. A small blue ferret with three small figures sitting on its back raced down the street, stopping in front of Oni's house. Nack, the two inch tall skunk boy looked at the slip of paper in his hand before kicking the ferret lightly so it raced up the stairs of the house. Nick, a small wolf boy, was sitting behind him, holding on for dear life to the plush doll that was bigger then both of them. When they stopped he let it fall to the ground, hopping off and looking at the tag tied around the plush's neck. "You really think her name is Banana Tango?" He asked, cocking his head slightly. "And Boss man's hand writing tilts the wrong way..." "He's left handed." Nack replied, reading the small note again. It still didn't work for him. "He didn't even explain how she's s'posed to use it..." Nick muttered, shoving a hand into his hair as he tried to figure out Silva. He gave up quickly on that. "Think we should... write somethin?' "Could... but if it's a girl she might not want to know..." Nack said, only to reluctantly pull out the pencil lead he kept behind his ear and scrawl underneath Silva's name: Hit the X's."That's better! But... how we s'posed to reach the doorbell?" Nick asked, staring up at the door. He blinked as Nack walked into the yard, grabbing a small stone and sending it flying as hard as he could, making a small, but obvious "Thunk" on the door. "Let's go." Nack said, getting on Tibuzilla and barely waiting for Nick to mount before racing away. And the small plush lay abandoned on the front step of Banana Tango's house.

Quote: Returning home from their shopping, all their gifts having been delivered, the trio returned to find their own collection of things resting on the steps. Oni gathered them up and brought them inside for the feien to enjoy. Banana zipped from the safey of Oni's hood to inspect her gifts hugging the pixa box after reading the note, pushing other box toward Oni. She hardly expected Merri to get her a present and the fact that he had seeped to all the more wonderful. She blinked toward the odd looking doll and stared at the note beside it in confusion. Hit the X's? She looked at the doll gathering it up against her side as she looked to the note as if it were a set of instructions, jabbing at the little red X's on the dummy. Oni and Penn looked to each other and shrugged. Neither one got it and that was fine as long as she was happy. Oni picked up his box from Neko and smiled warmly. Placing the gifts in a safe spot in Oni's room, Banana wingged her way back to the kitchen and sighed as she stared out at the greenhouse. That thing was still out there, barring her from her home. At the same time however, it was out there alone in the cold. Despite what it had tried to do, it was a living thing just as much as she was and deserved a chance at life. Mulling the thought over in her mind, Banana glanced around to be sure she was all alone, then pushed open the kitchen window and headed out toward the greenhouse. Prying open the loose screen door, Banana snuck into the dark greenhouse. The air inside was still warmer by compairison, but it was still unbearable. Landing on cold stone path, she could see the foggy sillouette of her bird feeder in the distance and the pond surface. There was something coiled about it. The shape looked odd and vaguely human but as if it were covered by a cloth. Swallowing back a bit of second thoughts, she walked slowly toward the half frozen water. A sinking feeling welling up in her gut as she got closer. Worse case scenario was that the poor creature had froze to death out here alone and misunderstood, however a baleful moan not only stopped her in her tracks but made her sigh with relief. Whatever it was, it was still alive, thankfully. Raising into the air slowly, she hovered closer making sure to stay out of reach as she landed at the edge of the pond. A pair of oily yellow eyes drifted to her sorrowfully then widened with hope. "..You came back!" Came a raspy voice as the creature lifted it's head from the roof of the birdfeeder. Like her, it was still young it seemed, it's round face housing gentle features. It's reptilian like skin shone like polished coral in the dim flecks of light ghosting in through the skylight catching the brightly colred hair atop it's head to bath it in a ethereal glow. She took a step back as he reached a webbed hand to her. Withdrawing it's hand as if struck with pain, the Uhane gave her a pleading smile. "Don't be scared..I didn't wish to hurt you, I swear! I only wished for you to be with me always. Forgive me.." Banana couldn't help but feel a twinge of guilt for the strange creature. She didn't know what she had done, but somehow or another, it was partially her fault. Stairing down at her feet, the feien balled her tiny hands into fists, kicking up from the ground to propell her through the air across the pond before she could rethink it. Fearing that she ma be attacking, the weakened Uhane scuttled as best it could behind the feeder to protect itself. Banana looked to the boy in confusion and realized that he wasn't half the monster she thought him to be. Brow furrowed in worry, Banana stepped closer to rest a hand on the boy's arm only to recoil as he cringed at her touce. He was cold as ice, just as she feared. Flying up to land on the roof of her feeder, she came up to eye level with him smiling as pleasently as she could. [ It's okay.. I won't hurt you. I know it wasn't your fault. ] The Uhane seemed relieved by this, gingerly reaching up to touch her with a finger or two. She allowed this, well only for a while as his cold fingers wer a bit much for her to stand and brought about her other inquiry. [ It's very cold out here. You should come into the house. ] The Uhane shook his head quickly and ducked behind the feeder further, "Oh no. I couldn't.That's where the monster is. Stay here with me. I'll protect you from him. He will never take you from me again."This was going to prove problematic indeed. [ I can't keep the both of us warm out here. Please trust me, my father won't hurt you if he understands that you're not trying to hurt me. ] Banana fluttered up to the boy's shoulder and biting her lip, she rested against hims cheek, trying to share her warmth with him. Maybe if she were to comfort the strange boy, he would be willing to agree. He did seem to be thankful for the shared warmth though it was brief. He seemed to be debating with himself on the idea and though he wasn't fond of it there was really no choice. "For you, my love. I shall come into the house of my enemy" Shakily getting to his feet, refusing to let her take flight from his shoulder, the Uhane worked his way through the chilly pond and to the door. The trek from the green house to the back door seemed to take forever. The remaining snow not helping at all as he lurched. Having been a swimmer for more than half his life, the Uhane found walking about on land to be quite the unessessary chore. Letting her wing her way in through the window, Banana worked at the simple lock and gestured for him to come inside. He did make it eventually and clumsily working the knob made it inside. Both magical creatures greeted the welcoming warmth gratefully basking in it's glory but a short lived glory as a familiar single horned boy rounded the corner and stared at them owlishly. The Uhane stared back just as surprised. "..Stinking fish!" Oni spat grasping for the nearest thing he could reach. "Vile monster!!" The Uhane retorted and went to charge at him with claws and teeth bared. Banana was thrown tumbling through the air as the Uhane slipped from under her like an eel. Before either attacker could lay a hand on the other, a pair of massive wings snapped around them both and yanked them apart. "There will be NO fighting in this house!" Boomed Penn as he glared at them both. His red eyes narrowed angrilly as both demon and Uhane clawed at the air to get at each other's throats. "How in the hell did you get in here, you b*****d?!" Oni snapped letting the object fly from his hand only to have it intercepted by Penn's large hand. "My love let me in! You do not deserve to be called 'father'!" the Uhane replied coldly peeking around his hands from the instinctive flinch. Banana looked to them both unsure what to do hoping that Oni had either gone to bed or was busy with other things to avoid such a mess. Penn however was not going to tolerate such behavior. Giving them each a rough shake, "Stop it." He hissed at them both. The fight and their air being knocked from them with the force of the shake he was able to set them down on the tile floor easily. "Now.." He looked to Banana, "What happened."Banana went into a varitable floor show of signing and pantamiming to try and explain not only to the Concept but to Oni as well. Still dazed from the shake, Oni grunted and drug himself dizzily to his feet decided it best to leave the kitchen. The Uhane remained on the floor a bit more worse for wear from the shake as it was still weakened from the cold. For now it was a moot point with both combatants subdued. Banana and Penn sighed deeply and set about caring for their charges. It was going to be a long night.
