His eyes looked over her carefully, both of them were aching but the last time he had been gone she had been alone for over two months. Lovey had traveled some distance, close enough in fact that he had run into Kale before coming to her…
“Aye lass.” He’d have to tell her what they both needed so she’d be able to rest up and heal properly, “I’ll make sure that if I’ve nae gotten ter Lovey in three days that I turn around an’ head back home ter ye.” Even if it meant not getting to Lovey.
He smiled and nuzzled her neck, “Ter be honest I was more worried about you than I was fer our little ones. I couldna tolerate losin’ ye little lass.” Of course, that hadn’t happened and nothing was needed in the way of fussing except for letting her know how proud he was of her and being so strong for their family.
“Mmm.. Weell, perhaps we’ll jest have ter practice on the way o’ not havin’ wee ones.” His voice was a bit sleepy so it lacked the punch of his usual teasing.

Azariel shook her head, "No, find Lovey first. I can wait more than a week, you should make sure Lovey's alright as well." She nudged his neck gently, "As long as you come back, I'll be fine."
A raised eyebrow, "Why worry about me? I'm young, healthy and strong enough to survive childbirth as we've both clearly seen." She smiled wearily, "Besides, you'd think I'd let myself die and leave our children without a mother? That's too cruel." She sighed and leaned in to his touch, "There's nothing to worry about Caelen. Except for maybe you influencing the children into ganging up on their mother." She looked up at him, "No playing tricks on me, okay?" She gave him a pleading look, only half-joking.
"Practice is good." She replied, smiling, "We just have to be careful where we practice now." She nudged his cheek gently, "But now, nap time, right?" She yawned softly and allowed her body to drop to the ground next to the baskets. She'd feel safer if she could feel them while she slept.

Caelen just raised an eyebrow at her. He’d taken his oath and it’d be three days or coming back home. While he wanted to check on Lovey, his mate and children took priority every single time.
“Why wouldn’t I worry about ye?” Because she was so young. He didn’t feel like a cradle robber but he had to be careful since she was such a young thing that if she hadn’t been ready for the babies then well.. Bah, maybe his mind was just making a monkey out of him and forcing extra worry where it wasn’t needed or necessary. Darn it. She’d gone and taken the fun out of being a teasing father to the children. Of course he’d have them gang up on her once in awhile in a game of tag or something close to it. “Weeell.. I’ll think about it alright lass?”
My but she was a feisty thing. He grinned slightly and dropped down beside her, laying his nose slightly on her withers and breathing deeply. She was warm and he was sleepy… Now to just let them both… rest…

"Why not? Because you should be ever so excited over the fact that you have little ones of your own to play with now, Caelen." She pointed out simply, looking at him with an amused expression.
A sigh escaped her and she mumbled something inaudible before giving him a displeased look, "I doomed to be plagued by both father and children from now on, aren't I?" She grumbled softly, shaking her head sleepily.
Anther sigh and she lay her head down next to one of the baskets, eyes slipping closed. Sleep now, argue just a bit later...
