It's Envy's hair. I mean, he/she/it has a massive palm tree sitting on his/her/it's head. Where does the hair go when Envy transforms? It makes up what Envy hasn't got. Also, maybe Envy skimps out on some of the details- like hair on arms and legs, skin layers, clothing layers, and such.
Oooo! Does that mean that Envy doesn't wear underwear? "It is the east, and Juliet the sun!"

Ho hum. It's probably just a humuculi thing. Like Lust has her extendy fingers and Greed his sheild thingy, so Envy can just do that for no reason. It's pretty awkward...
I can't think of any other, "HOW DO THEY DO THAT?!?!?" things... I think that's the only one...

I thinkz that they use the Philosopher's Stones as excuses.
EDIT: IDEA!! They use their insides! (homunculi don't need internal organs do they???) And expand / compress them somehow and make them into different materials (can't really explain that part....hmmmm).... Remember when Ling said that Envy was really heavy, heavier than he/she looks (in human-ish form)?
Heyy.... this reminds me of Lilo and Stitch in that episode where Stitch wanted to get really big, but then was really weak because his mass or strength or whatever was more spread out or something because the zappy thing that that big guy with alot of eyes (forgot his name) made doesn't add stuff but uses what's already there..... only here it's the other way around..
