Exploration. His sister tended to go on random adventures without thinking too hard on the consequences, so naturally, any sort of exploration reminded him of her. It didn't matter, though. To children, exploration was fun, and soon curiosity overtook any distaste he had for being too similar to his sisters. "I'm sure it's worth exploring. Shall we?" He gave an ear-to-ear grin to the boy holding his hand.

He always liked it when he made people smile. Hyacinthus smiled in turn at his new companion. "Do you know anything about the room?" He thought about finding his parents to ask them, but then they might tell him not go there after all or they'd give him a chore to do. He wasn't interested in a chore of any kind.

He shook his head. "Nah. I don't know much about the areas of this place; I try not to get couped up here often." Hopefully, Hyacinthus knew enough about this place to guide him there. It sounded like a promising adventure. Perhaps he could finally have some fun...

"Oh, okay." He swung their hands as they walked, smiling at his new friend. "Do you have any brothers or sisters? I'm an only child." He liked holding hangs with Texas because he didn't mind like some other boys might. His mother had warned him about the possibility of a boy not liking that gesture. Girls didn't mind it, of course.

Good thing Hyacinthus hadn't run into Esmée yet... "Actually, I have three siblings. They're all children like me, but my sisters are older." Texas nodded. Like Hyacinthus, he enjoyed rambling on a bit. "Esmée is my oldest sister and she's purple. She's annoying and an angel smarty pants too. Aysu is my other sister and she's a naiad. She likes this weather which I don't understand. And Criofan O'Kane is my younger fae brother and he likes stealing people's stuff and being lucky." His explanations were oversimplifying each of them, but Texas Pete didn't think there was anything more to say about them.

"Purple is my favorite color. Esmée sounds like she's pretty." He wanted to meet her now, but he could do that later with Tex because he didn't seem to like her all that much. Hyacinthus wandered down an empty hall, trying to figure out where the stairwell to the basement might be. "Does Criofan always steal things? I wouldn't want him to steal my stuff or my mommy's stuff."

"She looks more like a clown," sneered Texas, mocking his sister's markings. Who else besides clowns had such cheek spots? Of course, he was just mean to his eldest sister. That was his job... and, well, he really didn't like her. "And yes, he does. He's gotten better at simply tricking people out of their belongings now, though."

"Oh. Well, I don't want him taking my things. He shouldn't do that because it's wrong." More like it was wrong when other people did it to him. He often borrowed things and forgot to ask, but his intention was to give it back later. "Where's the staircase?" he mumbled, his words trailing off ask he looked around. They saw no one else down this hall, but Hyacinthus was starting to wish that they had. With someone else around, they could ask that person for help.

(( I don't really have anyone who can help. They're going to have to explore. xD ))

"He's a leprechaun, whatever that means. I guess that means it's expected of him to steal." Well, it wasn't so much expected as it was fact. Leprechauns were known for their ability to trick people out of their belongings, and that was what Criofan did without problem. It was a bit unfortunate for everyone else on the Isle, but at least he did not steal from Texas. "I don't know. We should go find it." With a firm, confident nod, the child started off in a whole new direction. If there was truly everything in this place, a staircase had to be nearby... Right?

He trotted after his new friend, admiring his confidence. He didn't see himself as being overly confident, but he didn't see himself as meek either. "So what kind of mommy do you have--I see the stairs!" He pointed excitedly at a hallway that looked like it might be a staircase. "That's where we can go. What do you think is in that special room?"

Texas was going to ask what exactly Hyacinthus meant by saying 'type of mother,' but Hyacinthus changed the subject himself, pointing out the hallway excitedly. The confident child grinned. He knew he would get them to the right area! "I don't know. Maybe there's a swimming pool, or some games, or a television, or some stuff." Texas shrugged. What did people keep in basements, anyway? It seemed to change depending on which house he went in.

"Maybe there's a big jungle gym, and drawers filled with clothes, and markers that never run out no matter how much you used them. Or paint! Then we can paint on the walls and make it pretty!" Now Hyacinthus was practically skipping behind his friend.

Texas couldn't help his mild chuckle. Hopefully, they had what Hyacinthus wanted. He deserved the paint after giving Texas something to do in this boring, stupid Headquarters. Once approaching what was indeed a staircase, he jokingly bowed and gestured to it. "After you, Cinthy." He had gained some sense of gentlemanly behavior already, but who knew if it would last.

He smiled gratefully. "Why thank you, Tex." Suddenly, he pinched the demon pae's cheek and bounded down the steps before Texas Pete could catch him. Of course, boldness did have its consequences. Halfway down the stairs, he misstepped. In a panic, he clung to the railing for dear life. The littel pae boy yelped quietly, for a moment terrified that he'd fall. A child had trouble articulating danger but was excellent at sensing it.

(( Sorry for the delay. Tex wasn't around. ^^; ))

Texas went to chase after him, but before he caught up, Hyacinthus fell. Well, he couldn't have that happening. Heroically, he made his way over and offered his hand to help the boy up. "Here, I'll help." Hyacinthus was amusing him. If he let Hyacinthus get hurt, that would destroy all of his fun...
