They reached the trees and Kale simply strode into the opening between the trees, the stream was only a few dozen feet into the shade, hopefully Lovey wouldn't mind a few more steps to walk. Sometiems mares could be fickle--not that he could see Lovey was one of that brood.
The large amount of hair was deceptive like that sometimes.
Oh thank the gods that she didn't become offended at that statement. "Would you really?" He asked, glancing back at her before continuing forward, "Are you sure you could handle having three or more? I mean, I had trouble with my three and no help, will the father be around to help?" He could have shot himself for the way he was talking, but she should understand a bit of what was going to happen to her. It was important to know, there were less surprises that way.

Lovey followed along with him and slowed her pace just barely. As much as she loved being with company her mind was thinking a bit. They were almost there and she managed to smile to herself. It was a relief to know the truth.. And to know that she wasn’t just getting fat again. Ha.
Blinking as the shade settled over her, the mare nearly sighed in delight.
“Oh yes… I know it won’t be easy of course, but I’m not saddened at all by the news of what’s happened.” She lowered her head down and started to cool off, feeling it was safe in front of this stallion to not preen or anything along the lines of that. “I’ll take myself off to where the father lives as soon as they’re born. As much as I fuss about going now.. I don’t believe I should.” Talking about something “touchy” really wasn’t in Lovey’s dictionary. Everything was up for discussion.

Kale looked back at her and smiled wanly, "I suppose that's better than how my daughter took it at first." He sigh escaped him again, "Sometimes I pity Caelen, Azariel has a temper that few can match sometimes. I don't know where she got that from though." Perhaps she got it from his mother? He couldn't quite remember. He hadn't seen her in quite a while just like the rest of his family.
His long braided tail swishing softly as he thought for a moment, "If that is what you feel best, then there is nothing I can or should say to dissuade you." He answered at last, nodding once, "I don't know your sitaution well at all, so I can't really say much in one way or another."
He paused and brushed away a few small branches to open the way for Lovey and nodded his head forward to indicate that she was free to move forward first as ladies were always allowed to do.

Lovey smiled at him easily and couldn’t help but wonder if Az screamed at Caelen til she was blue in the face or if the two had just screamed back and forth. “Ahh, but while Caelen’s temper isn’t as violent he’s a bit strange in the fact that he loves watching others get mad.” The shamrock stallion was a bit of a provoker, but only to those he seemed to care about. “Children can pick up odd habits.. I can’t help but wonder what mine will do.”
Her long tail swished back and forth swiftly, not in irritation but just to get the hair moving and to try to stifle a bit of heat that seemed to be stagnant in her tail. “For now I’m pleased with the idea.. Of course, I’m liable to change my time at least ten times before it’s all said and done.”
When he signaled for her to go first a soft smile spread across her face and she moved in to see water that looked almost sinfully delicious. Probably the heat making her think weird things, “It looks.. Wonderful Kale.”

Kale gave a rueful sigh, "I've noticed that about him. In this type of situation, that side is not entirely helpful though, is it?" He shook his head and watched her carefully as she moved. The old protective instinct never did fade away completely. "I'm sure they'll be lovely," He answered automatically, smiling, "You'll find that more often than not they'll be entirely different when their outside of their parent's watch than inside." He knew this for a fact.
"That's only natural, I remamber Marina having a hard time deciding whether or not to think or do anything. Half the time she was terrified to go anywhere because she thought she'd trip and hurt the children and the other half I wasn't sure what she was thinking." He shrugged helplessly, "But no matter what, it's not a situation that'll change for a long time to come."
A faint smile graced his features again, "I'm glad you like it. It's a nice place to cool down if you'd rather not do it in the unshaded lake." He absently blew a braid of hair out of his eyes, "You can go in if you like," He pointed out, chuckling softly, "There's nothing wrong with cooling down."

Lovey smiled at Kale and let him explain. He was already a parent of three so the stallion knew what he was talking about more than what she could say. That didn’t mean that her mind argued to think what it wanted to think and to believe what had always been instilled. Funny, a mare with parents who only cared about her looks and nightmares of a childhood that had been so very still, could hold such strong family thoughts and beliefs. “I’m sure they’ll only want to behave for me.. And to be independent on their own..”
She grinned slightly at the idea of not being able to move, “Oh no… As much as I’d like to take the opportunity to just be still and do nothing I know I’d weigh more than three Soquilis if I did that.” Lovey enjoyed her leisure time. “Besides, I have a daughter already, Ignacia, she wouldn’t take too kindly to me cutting our play time together.”
The stallion had essentially read her mind and Lovey began to wade into the water. It was cool and refreshing, somewhere that she’d have to remember how to get to and from. “Who’s land are we on Kale? Anybody’s in particular?” Hopefully not, she’d intruded on lands one other times and it hadn’t ended badly.. But certainly not well.

Kale gave another understanding smile and let it pass.
He let a chuckle pass his lips but shrugged his shoulders all the same, "I know what you mean, but there's no harm in resting every once in a while. Everyone needs that." He blinked in surprise and raised his eyebrows, "But if you have a--" He stopped himself, not wanting to delve into something she might not want to talk about.
It bugged at him though, how could she have a daughter and not understand that she was pregnant? Unless...that child had been adopted or some such. He sighed at him and shook his head, amused despite the obvious failings in his thinking. Was he really getting old?
Blinking in surprise--he had never really though about someone owning land--he managed to shrug his shoulders nonchalantly, "I don't think these lands are claimed by anyone." He answered honestly, "As of yet I haven't encountered anyone who's "claimed" them in any way." He shrugged again, "But I honestly can't say."
