Genevieve was not going to dignify Finch's remark about the likelihood she'd like him if she knew him any better with a response. It was a thing she preferred to find out for herself, rather than be told.

Genevieve put on her I'm-going-to-be-stubborn face and smiled sweetly. Genevieve, not being naturally inclined to sweetness, was ordinarily a worrisome person when she smiled sweetly. At least to those who knew that. There was no way Finch could know, unless he happed to be good at reading people, which was quite possible.

"You're right about the laundress thing," Genevieve agreed. "And about being a poet. And it would be my pleasure to teach both you and Raeli, if you want to learn."

She paused and her smile became more brilliant.

"For no fee."

She didn't quite hear Raeli's muttered remark, though she did note that he giggled at Dragul's awful manners. At least he wasn't inclined to be offended by the ill-mannered undera. It was a relief.

The reason that Raeli's remark passed unheard and that she paid little attention to his mirth was simply that she was a little distracted by Finch's approach. Their very new acquaintance aside, Genevieve had personal space issues which tended to flare up whenever a person was within two feet of her.

"After all," she continued, forcing herself to ignore her inclination to take a retreating step backward, "I'm an unproven teacher. And I enjoy math. It would be silly for me to demand recompense for doing something I otherwise enjoy."

She gave it another moment's thought while she watched Dragul's eyes grow wide when Raeli chuckled. Dragul was not accustomed to receiving any sort of approval for behaving rudely in public. Genevieve guessed that she would have a difficult time issuading Dragul of the notion that blowing raspberries was a socially acceptable activity.

She fumbled briefly with her purse until she was able to produce a pen and a receipt from a gas station which had to be at least four years old. She knew that beause her family hadn't owned a car for four years. She applied the pen to the receipt and wrote down her address.

"Dragul, will you give this to Raeli?" she asked, handing the slip of paper to the young goblin.

Dragul took the paper with a great deal of glee and with an air of self-importance handed it to Raeli.

"It's my address. Basically, if you head north on this street and then turn right onto Birch Lane, my house is the off-puce one. You can't miss it. It looks like somebody threw up and then used the color as a basis for the house."

She had meant to re-paint it the summer before, but money had gotten tight very suddenly and it hadn't happened. She'd actually bought the paint, too. It was simply that she'd had to take on too many shifts to have the energy to paint when she came home. She was struck with inspiration.

"If you want to pay me for this, you can repaint the house. I've got the paint, but not the time, really," she suggested.

Finch shook his head with a slight look of anger when she'd offered to teach him as well. "No good comes from me learning..." he muttered under his breath, half hoping she didn't hear him. He took another step closer, now with a friendlier, yet somehow still discomforting air lingering around him.

"See. You do have issues!" Raeli called out with a smile, confirming his earlier remark about the vampire having issues about being educated. However he disregarded his last sentence when the goblin undera handed him the piece of paper. He studied the note carefully for a few minutes before looking back up to Dragul with a smile and a nod. "Thank you." he said before tucking the note into the small bag the two had brought with them.

"Alright. I won't miss it..." He said, though really he hadn't been listening to the directions. He didn't need them. "Repaint your house?... I... I don't know about that... I can't really stay out in the sun too long without feeling ill and drowsy... Although late afternoon and into the twilight, I think I could manage. I just wouldn't want to creep you out with my linger presence just outside." Finch replied thinking about it with great consideration. He'd be able to get the job done in half the time any normal person would, should she allow him to paint later in the day. Although, that didn't mean he would. He'd probably take half a dozen breaks each day it took.

That he kept stepping closer made her a little uneasy, but she stood her ground, mostly out of pride, more than anything else.

"Good. I'll see you tomorrow, then?" Genevieve said, glancing at her second load in the dryer.

"We'come," Dragul answered, beaming at Raeli's smile. She was apparently feeling eager to please. It was not a usual state for her, and Genevieve wondered if she ought to take advantage of the undera's unusual tractability and see if she could convince her to submit to a bath.

"I wasn't serious about painting the house, you know," she muttered. She hadn't meant to be an inconvenience, after all. "I'll get to it eventually."

It wouldn't actually have creeped her out if he'd been lingering outside or not. For all the paranoia she had tried to cultivate when she was younger and had moved to where she currently lived, afraid of the rumors it was a bad neighborhood, Genevieve had no sense of the supernatural and probably wouldn't have noticed a person sneaking up behind her or lingering outside her house or peeping through her blinds unless they said something or touched her.

"Even so, I would would have liked to help out. Some of your personal time is being given away to someone you barely know, I don't particularly want that to go... un... rewarded? I don't know. Whatever you want to call it. If you won't let me pay, then at least don't hesitate in asking a favor of any kind." He insisted with a slight shrug. He stepped back a few paces quite suddenly when something tugged at his vampire senses, want him to bite and drain the girl. He couldn't let that happen.

The second load of clothes finished and Finch smiled. Finally. He could get out of here and avoid any 'accidents'. "That was quicker than I expected." he admitted, though it was still longer than he would have liked. He turned to the washer and dumped all the clothes in the same basket as before. "You right to go, Rae?" the vampire asked the corsea who had been quite entertained by the younger creature, Dragul.

"I... um... guess so..." the pink corsea muttered in reply. He didn't really want to leave their new... friends? But he reminded himself that they would see each other tomorrow and this time for longer. It seems for a split second the corsea forgot about the lessons. "I... guess we'll see you tomorrow then, huh?" He said mostly to Dragul before he watched Finch pick up the basket of clothes as if it were as light as a feather. Clearly he was feeling better. As much as Raeli was glad, he was also somewhat frightened.

She was relieved when Finch backed off a bit, but she stopped herself just short of heaving a sigh of relief. She hadn't actually been holding her breath. She'd just been holding her body taught and ready. Yay for fight or flight instincts.

"That's kind of you. I'm sure I'll think of something," Genevieve said, having no intention of even attempting to think of something to ask of Finch.

Dragul smiled toothily at Raeli. "Yeh. T'morrow."

Genevieve unloaded her machine and nodded in Finch's direction, belatedly remembering to include Raeli in the gesture. She was not quite used to dealing with non-humans except Dragul. She had to remind herself that they were sentient creatures, despite their unusual appearances. She would not do well if she were abducted by aliens it seemed.

"Bye."

D'you want me to set up another RP for continuing this or what? It seems to be wrapping up.

"If you say so..." Finch muttered with a slight smile. He wasn't offering out of kindness really. It was just the way he was brought up. Never take and give nothing in return. He dropped that rule a while ago... having stolen so many lives, the list of people would take 84 years to write out. That fact sickened him, and so he changed his ways back to what his father had told him.

Raeli waved to Genevieve and Dragul, as he and Finch left in the direction of their apartment building. Honestly, he was surprised they were still living there. The amount of noise Finch and his friends sometimes made... The corsea guessed that their young appearances must make everyone else think they were partying university students or something.

Genevieve hung aruond the laundromat long enough to fold her laundry, but then she skedaddled as quickly as she could manage. The place had returned to being menacing once Finch and Raeli left. She returned home in a significantly better mood, however.
