Gios trooded along the highway, with his green bag slung over his shoulder. he kept wondering if he was going the right way. he has been walking 98 miles to see his girl. hed just got back from the horrors of war. he was fit, and lean. when he went in to the service, he wasnt. nut, hed had the best time of his life with her. and he wanted those times to continue. and another thing, he had nowhere lese to go. but its ont like hed want to be anywhere else. "the old lady 30 miles back said the turn off to the school would be right about here" Gios said to himself, with a confedent stride in his walk. he walked up to the gates of a wall, and there was a gaurd there.

"wuts ur bisness here sirs?" he asked.

"to see a freind" i said. "ill be out by 9:00. "

the man stood transfixed as he looked at me. "well, seeinz how urz in the army and all, i guess i can trust yous" he said with a hick undertone.

he opend the gates and i walked through, following the road along the wall, th to see his love.
