Isa stared at her new emplyer, the small amount of food she'd been chewing on still in her mouth. She swallowed, murmured, "Interesting," and continued thinking. When she'd finished the food on her plate, she got up. "I think I'm gonna go walk around for a bit," she announced. "Nothing much seems to be happening in here right now, so you don't really need me, right? I'll be back in about an hour. Is that okay?" Isa had had the idea to ask for permission for almost everythnig beaten into her early on.
Kyna finished her food, said, "I'll be in my room!" and scuttled up the stairs. Once there, she started scolding her wind, which had been fighting with the native wind again. "Really, now, you know better," she chastened. "Go on, go explore. Make friends with the natives. And for the love of all that is good, get along." She sat on her bed and pulled a book out of her pack, starting it. She'd never really had time before.

"Hmm" Cat said as she pulled her hair out of her eyes and back into her ponytail. "Yes of course. The Inn isn't really open yet. Take as long as you need" She said sweetly.

Kyna put her book down and went to sit on the window ledge. A breeze came to her, swirling her long hair around gently. It wasn't her wind, but one of the native winds that hers had been fighting. "Good morning," Kyna said courteously. "May I help you?" The air just settled down possessively around her. "Great," Kyna murmured. "You're looking to start a fight? Do me a favor and start it away from my stuff. And my new job. Go on, shoo. Go find somewhere else to tussle." Immature brats, she thought. The wind left and Kyna sat in peace, wondering for a minute what would happen if she fell. Or jumped. Would she be able to halfway harden the air below and land safely? Or would she break both legs. She mused over this for a time, trying to relieve her boredom. When she got bored of this idea, she swung her legs back inside. Before they'd settled, a strong gust of win swirled around her and knocked her balance off, causing her to fall backwards. Right out the window. "s**t," Kyna had time to murmur. Concentrating as qickly as she could, she tried to harden the air around her, to make a sfot landing place. It worked. Sort of. Kyna got up, dusted herself off, and decided to explore Yakoi.

Isa and Kyna walked back into Miss Cat's inn. Kyna turned to Isa and said, "That was nice. Thank you. I'm going to go to my room now, bye." Without letting the other girl reply, Kyna rushed up the stairs, just in time to see her book fly out the window. "Dammit!" she exclaimed. "Must you be so stupid? I wasn't ignoring you. What, do I have to do everything with you now? Geez, talk about jealous." Kyna stomped over to the window and, with a sharp gesture, got another breeze to blow the book back up to the window. She caught it easily and placed it firmly on the desk. "Gods all help you if it's ruined," she threatened.
"Okay then," Isa said to herself as she watched Kyna go up the stairs. "That was interesting. Now what to do?" Isa shrugged and went to her room. She got out her purse and checked to see how much money she had. When she saw how little she had left, she bit her lip. "That can't be good." She looked guiltily at the bags still sitting by her door. "And that didn't help. Oops. Oh, well." Isa shrugged again and sat down. Holding her palm out, she summoned a bit of fire up and started toying with it, casting shadows on the wall and making weird shapes with them and the fire. She soon got bored with that and clenched her hand, sending the flame away. After that, Isa just sat staring at the floor, unable to think of anything else to do.

"Opening time dearys" Cat said as she left the kitchen. After a while the place was becoming filled and plenty of waitress oppertunitys opened. "I will fill in the orders...if they want entertainment just tell me."

"Okey-dokey!" Kyna said, running headlong down the stairs. "...What am I doing again?"
Isa walked down the stairs slower than Kyna had. "I know what I'm doing," she remarked, tying a clean, white apron with large pockets around her waist. "Do a lot of people usually come?"

"Sometimes it's more packed...usually during the Period of Demons...Every year a great demon foe comes and if someone defeats it they shall have a great power...That's what legend says anyway. No one's been able to kill on in over 500 years." Cat said as she turned the stoves on and got the water to boil.

"Really?" Isa asked. "Sounds interesting. When does it happen?"
"I still don't know what I'm doing," Kyna sang quietly to herself, spinning around for no reason. "Man, am I bored."

"Well during holidays actually...It's said that the protectors become interested in the festavals and less in the gates to the underworld they gaurd...So one always gets out from every gate and always looks for a good fight...He roams around for about a week...that's when he's usually recaptured and stuffed back in. If someone slays a demon tha gaurdians will grant a person a special power..." Cat said as she began to cook. "But no one knows much else about it...Kyna....tell Isa what she is doing please..."

"Sounds like fun," Isa remarked. "I wanna try that." She turned to Kyna. "You can... I don't know, bus tables or something. If it gets busy, I'll need help with taking orders and everything else. Does that work for you?"
Kyna stopped spinning. "Yes! Be right back." She ran up the stairs, grabbed something from her pack, and half-fell back down the stairs. "Can I wear this?" she asked, holding up a really bright green cape. "It's pretty." She smiled as she stared at it.
Isa stared at Kyna uncertainly. Weird, she thought. Whatever.

"Oh but it is certainly dangerous..." A figure said from the door way. She walked in queitly. She had amazing fox ears and a great bushy tail. She sat down with nothing but one graceful move. "Ice water please..."
"Oh dear...." Cat said under her breath. "I agree with the kitsune...It is truely dangerous...not many people even live through the encounter." Cat said as she filled five orders including the kitsune's.

"Pfft," Isa said as she put the water next to the newcomer. She placed all the other orders next to the patrons who had ordered them. "What kind of demon is it?" she asked Miss Cat.
"Lalala, nothing to do still," Kyna whispered very softly. She toyed with the air in her direct vicinity, twisting it first one way and then another. Whenever someone looked her way, she jerked to a quick stop. It wouldn't do for people to see her playing with nothing. She smiled to herself as the wind murmured softly around her.

"Demons even the underworld wouldn't keep in it's boundaries. Fierce beasts...and each time they come...a demon with a different element comes...making it easyer for some elementalists to destroy and harder on others...depending on that element's strengths and weaknesses." The kitsune said as she sipped the water.
"Yes....what she said." Cat quietly. She put an order up that no one had ordered. It wasn't on the menu either.
