That's what happened to me anyway and plus we have been friends forever and he even told me he liked me that way and he didn't try anything...

I hate the culture these days wear everyone has to have sex as often as possible and if it's not your main goal in life to get your leg over then you're some kind of freak.

I've been celibate for almost a year and you wouldn't believe the kind of insults people have called me because of it. O.o

It's just because they're jealous. Since they have nothing better to strive for, they take it out on people who have, seeing that they're the ones who made them realise that there are other things to life.

Does that make sense?

I've never had much luck with the "they're just jealous" theory.
I have a pretty big slice of self-hatred in me, I can't see how anyone would be jealous of me when I don't even enjoy being me.
