Atae glanced over at Edward. "Ready to go already?" Something was up, and she was tired of sidestepping around it. If there was anyone she didn't need to be afraid of, it was Edward and her other friends, and whatever was bothering him... was effecting those around him with the way he was acting. "Why are you mad at Endless, Ed?"
Endless felt an indefinable shiver run through him when she whispered his name like that. "I hope you'll forgive me... if this needs forgiving..." Even if it was only this once and never again... He moved to look into her eyes again, nose almost brushing hers, and kissed her softly before she could ask or he could change his mind. He just hoped she wouldn't get mad about it or something...

Her last question caught him off guard and Ed looked to Atae in a puzzled manner. "I'm not mad at him" he said, quickly going on the defensive. Kind of a half lie/half truth... he wasn't really mad mad at Endless... more like annoyed at him. But well, he wasn't going to admit to that either, atleast not easily.
Although if he knew what was going on outside, he might change his tune.

"You're going to tell me what's going on, or I'm going to go outside and start doing sprints." Was she serious? It was really hard to tell. It was unusual enough that Atae was being so assertive. "Seriously Ed... I can't be sure what's going on with you, but I know it's not just that dream you had the other night, and you've been acting odd ever since the other day... and I know I'm not the only one that's noticed."

A frown and brows furrowed, "Like hell you will." He'll make her stay put, even if he has to use alchemy to do so. And he can too. However, ears turned back at her words... especially with the whole bit that she's not the only one that noticed. "Nothing's going on, alright?" he said impatiently. He didn't want to get in a fight with Atae, but he wasn't about to spill out what he had on his mind either.

"...It's not, but I can't make you talk, either. I just... worry about you guys. It bothers me to see people I care about suddenly being so... ... blah at eachother?" Atae frowned, sighed and let her head fall onto her paws. "I wish I could just make you all happy and safe all the time, but I'm not able to do... much of anything. Except going flying when I least expect it." Her attempt to joke about her injuries made even her grimace at the bad pun.

Why did she have to make everything so complicated? Girls are just weird, he decided. "Sorry Atae... but really.. its nothing important." He wasn't about to tell her that he might have feelings for Lilianna, whom Endless was obviously in love with. After all.. Endless was her friend... and like with Lilianna.. he didn't want to cause a difficult situation. It was just better to avoid the whole thing. He needed to be more.. discrete about it, but that was easier said than done.
"Its getting late anyway.. you should probably sleep." He yawned a bit too as he thought of sleep, remembering suddenly that he was sleepy as well. Finishing his tea, Edward decided that he needed to get up and do something.. clear his mind. "I'm going to take this to the kitchen.. are you done with yours?" he asked, refering to their teacups. Carefully removing himself from Bryna so as not to wake her up, Edward put his black jacket under her head as a pillow and covered her with his red coat.

If Hemi had been awake he may have had something to say about that. He had seen Ed & his sister in the yard after all, though he had not heard the words exchanged. Still he was fairly perceptive to body language and the fullmetal had been much more relaxed after than he had been last Hemi had seen him -and certainly since seeing Endless again. But he was basically out cold against Atae, sleeping to regain the energy used in healing.
Her eyes flicked open as Endless moved and spoke. There was a flash of confusion behind the green as she wondered what he could possibly do or say that might need forgiving... then felt his muzzle... then his mouth... and the kiss...
Green eyes fluttered shut once more with a soft sigh of trust. The kiss was soft and warm and... Liliana responded to it tentatively. Just a little. Enough that it was clear offense was not taken. A light flutter of acceptance.
Time seemed to slow, and she could only hear their heartbeats. Hers fluttered like a bird trapped in a cage.
What was this? It was... nice. Not just the kiss, but the way it made her feel... She would have to think about it. Later.

His heart was fluttering too, at least between skipping beats. When she returned the gesture that tentative little bit he felt something in the back of his mind relax; Lily wasn't going anywhere.
At least not until Kitsyn opened the back door and coughed. He jumped, not having expected anyone, and toppled over when the jump made him break contact. In his current dizzy state of mind it took him a moment to remember how to work everything.
"Sorry for the interruption... but it's getting sorta late. Wasn't sure when you guys needed to get home." Kitsyn managed, with difficulty, to keep a straight face while Endless rolled onto his back and obviously started making sure his legs were still working.
"I'll be in... in a min." He had a silly grin on his face as he rolled to his feet and shakily stood. Lily still hadn't exactly said 'yes' or anything, but after that... he didn't mind giving it until tommorow. Or next year. He'd wait as long as it took for her to decide. He nuzzled her, perhaps a bit more affectionately than usual, and started inside, still a bit wobbly.
Atae just nodded her head and yawned before settling down in a sleep-ready position. She wasn't going to sleep yet, but she felt comfy with all the warm bodies around. She hadn't gotten to snuggle before bed since Soot stopped coming when she grew up.

She responded to the cough like someone waking from a pleasant dream, even with Endless' startled movements beside her. Her green eyes were glazed when they slowly opened to blink at Kitsyn as if trying to remember who the kitsu was while at the same time replaying her words to comprehend what had been said. Her gaze drifted gently to watch her dear friend, rolled on his back and looking both silly and endearing at once. She still did not have any answers... but somehow right at this moment that did not seem to be a problem.
Liliana did not say anything or take any real step to move until Endless' nuzzle which she returned in kind before following him inside as if through a mist or fog. her movements were more automatic than thought out -any fluidity or function due to her started training taking some control. Her voice came out slow and dreamlike even to her own ears. "I should... check with Edward and Hemi. As long as we tell the others where we are and as long as we're not imposing..." Her gaze flicked to Endless' with a slight smile. "We can apparate home anytime. As long as they know where we are. So Daddy and the others aren't worried." So she was repeating herself and probably not being very congruent; Lily did not notice.

Taking the pair of teacups by the handles with his teeth, Edward quietly left the room to return the dishes to their proper place. He paused as he walked into the main room, hearing Kitsyn calling out to the pair outside.. and then as they made their way in. The teen looked at the both of them for several moments, giving Endless an almost accusing stare. However, he soon made his way into the kitchen... only to find that he was too small to reach the sink. Muttering something to himself, he placed the cups somewhere where somebody would easily find them.

"Yeah... I should check on Atae..." Endless seemed to be in no less dreamy a state than Liliana and completely missed Ed's glare as he all but floated down the hallway to peek in on Atae. "So... how you feelin', kiddo?"
Atae opened her eyes again, she'd closed them briefly because the lids were getting heavy. She lifted her head up enough to talk easily, though... she suddenly didn't know what to say. Looking up at her long time father-figure she was suddenly filled with a fluttery sort of elation... and realized that was what he was feeling. Not at all sure what exactly was going on, she not-quite-blushed and murmured sleepily, "Er... a lot better. Hemi fell asleep... and Bryna. Apparently she knows Ed from somewhere, too." She indicated the small ball of silvery fluff and black leather that had mostly burrowed under Edward's coat.
Endless gave a silly grin. "Lily and I had a... nice talk..." he murmured before slipping off into a sort of waking daydream.
Kitsyn eyed Endless and then turned to Lily. "Well, you know you guys are welcome to stay as long as you want. We've even got extra rooms, if not a handy magic door." She refrained from looking back over at Ed in sympathy as she said that, knowing he probably wouldn't be at all fond of the idea of an overnight right now. ...And she wasn't sure where the idea came from, but she decided that the kid needed a place of his own. Especially with his friends on the way. She just... didn't really know how or where.

Spotting Edward white and gold tails wagged happily, Liliana in too good a mood to react otherwise. She was not a deft judge of expressions but even in the state she was in Lily could not miss the look her best friend gave Endless. A perplexed look brushed her face, still mostly with that dreamy quality. She did not know what to say or even what to ask him. Besides, he looked busy with those teacups.
She turned to listen to Kitsyn's words, half wondering why it was more difficult than normal to focus on something so normal. "Thank you. That would be nice. I should go talk to Edward about it...
A sudden flash of thought had Liliana's cheeks warming, red blush undetectable beneath already crimson fur. A thought swirling around how she hated to sleep alone. A question at the back of her mind wondering if she were to sleep beside Endless as they had done before would it be like making a decision. "Eh... I'll ask Edward now."
Lily padded into the kitchen where the alchemist had gone but not left yet. At least not through the door that she had seen. Sticking her head in she sought her friend's face. The teen looked pretty cute without his coat on. Strange to see him without it and Ed not to be hurt or needing help with his automail. "Edward? eh... Kitsyn -yeah, Kitsyn- says we can sty as long as we want. I don't know how tired you are or if you'd be up to apparating again or..." She paused in her dreamy ramblings. "Is Hemi still with Atae?"

Hearing Lilianna come through the door, Edward turned around and put on a bright smile for her. "Hi Lili..." she seemed happy enough, and well.. that was... good. As she spoke, he simply nodded once, as if thinking.
"Well I'm not planning to stay here tonight if that's what you mean. I'll either ... eh.. apparate with you or walk to the HQ, either one." He gave his shoulders a shrug, before nodding again, "Yeah, he's sleeping next to her. All that healing really wore him out I guess." He paused... wondering if he should dare ask.
"So... how are things with you and Endless?" Mostly he wanted to know if she'd made any decisions yet... if she was happy. Judging from her current demeanor, it seemed that she was.

Kitsyn waited patiently just outside the kitchen area, listening and not. So, Ed was gonna head out? Maybe she'd walk him to HQ. And keep an eye out to see if there was anywhere that might be a good spot for a new kitsu house.
Endless came over to Atae's bedside and peered down at Hemi. "Heavy sleeper, isn't he? You want me to move him?"
Atae quickly shook her head and then looked slightly embarrassed. "Er, no... it's kinda nice having someone around to curl up with again..." She glanced up at him, looking slightly sheepish on top of something else she seemed to be unconsciously burying.
Endless tilted his head, his elated mood leveling off a bit. Atae was... lonely, wasn't she? It hadn't occured to him that she might not enjoy "having her space" as much as an adult as he... used to. Really, most of them had left her to her own devices, but these days she didn't even see her blood-family as often as she'd used to, not that she saw them a lot in the first place sometimes. He reached over to ruffle her head-fur. "You know... you're still allowed to come in my room if you have a bad dream or... something. You don't have to sit in here by yourself."
Atae blinked slightly up at him, ears going back briefly in surprise. "I...er... thanks." She felt a tear start to roll down her cheek and she quickly rubbed the side of her face on a pillow. "I'm okay... I just... miss everyone sometimes. That's all."
Endless gave an exasperated sort of smile and ruffled Atae's head-fur again before trotting into the main room to see what was going on. He was starting to think he'd taught Atae... too well, in some regards.

Her worry melted as she mirrored his smile with a bright one of her own. Then Lily listened carefully to his words, a little surprised that she should have to focus so much on something so simple. "He's sleeping?" Sisterly concern for the 'baby' evident in her voice. "I don't want to wake him. It's his first time healing more than a scratch... but I don't like the idea of you walking alone anywhere at night..." Unspoken but evident was the worry of Envy or his kin finding her friend out there. She knew Ed could take care of himself, but that did not stop her feelings. "If you want to leave I could take you somewhere, then come back until Hemi wakes. I can't leave him hear alone all night. Well I could... he's old enough but I feel responsible and..." A small shrug accompanied by a sheepish grin for her rambling. "He's my baby brother."
Yes, that seemed to cover it.
Only then did she go to answer his question. "Good. Very good. Very ... comfortable. There was a meteor shower, Edward. He showed it to me." Her voice dropped softly, so that only he could hear what was said next. She needed her best friend but even if she suspected anything, Liliana was not adept at judging these kind of things. "He... kissed me. I liked it. But... everything's so new. I don't know what to think. Or what it is I'm feeling. Not used to thinking about feelings. I know my feelings are most intense around you and Endless... but..." Another shrug as she butted her head to his cheek. "nothing is set..."
Vivid green eyes looked into Edward's golden ones. Perhaps his words from earlier that day were ringing at the back of her subconscious. Who could tell. But she did look worried. "Edward... if Endless & I... I mean... We'll always be best friends, you & I. Right?"
