"Green?" Axel cast a confused glance at the boy before looking himself over. His gaze found the cause of disruption almost immediately. Green eyes widened as the pieces slowly fell together. He glanced up at the youth's shoulder's and grinned nervously. "Uh...I'm sure it'll probably wash off."

Kaleb just glanced nervously back and forth between the two, his twin tails nervously swishing behind him. The colour could almost be described as abrasive, so he quickly turned to look at the water rather than risk being blinded by the bright colouring.
"M-maybe y-you two should try washing it off," the mage stuttered, taking one hesitant step towards the water. "I-it wouldn't be good to leave it in case it stains..."

Finally, Demyx looked at his green shoulders. Equally green eyes widened as the sitarist let out a startled shriek.
"A-a-a-axel!!! What did you do to us?!?!"
Now, if Demyx had been the old second in command, Axel would find himself full of bullet holes at this moment. Thankfully for the fire-wielder Demyx wasn't violent....unfortunately though, he could get rather whiney.
"How could you Axel?!"
Eyes watering, for effect of course, the rather sad youth gave Axel the sad puppy dog look.

"I didn't know!" Axel confronted the youth's teary gaze with his own mostly innocent expression. "Don't cry, Dem," the red-head pleaded. Great...now look what his mischief had gotten him into. Not that such consequences would ever stop him, of course. He'd just be more careful next time.

Effects quickly and easily fooled poor Kaleb, who mistook Demyx's expressions for signs of pure distress. And of course, that distressed him to no end. The little mage's hand-wringing only increased as the seconds passed, he didn't like seeing his friend upset, and didn't know what he could do to fix it.
"D-Demyx, m-maybe w-we should go try and wash it off?" Kaleb stuttered in a rather anxious voice, hoping to convince Demyx to get into the water. Even if it didn't come off, maybe the musician would at least feel better in his element.

Ears flattening back in a continuation of his act, Demyx gave one final whimper at the red-head before trudging off to the water. Truthfully, he was ecstatic to finally be in the ocean, but he wouldn't dare let that show yet. It wouldn't do to show he wasn't -too- upset....he wanted sympathy afterall.

Axel trailed after the youth, his own ears drooping a bit. Was Demyx really upset with him? It was hard to tell with one who's mood could change from one minute to the next. Which would make it all the easier to cheer him up later with a quick trip to the local pet shop.

The healer's worry for his friend's mood was easily translated into anxiety at the water's edge. If anything, he appeared even more nervous about the beach than the first time he had come with Demyx. This time he stopped short of the line of damp sand where the waves ran up the shore, and hesitated there while he fidgeted nervously and watched the water almost as though it would bite him.

The sitarist had wandered far enough out in the water so he could float comfortably and hide his shoulders underneath the water, and stayed there. From his position in the slowly rocking ocean, Demyx stared over sadly at Axel and Kaleb.
"It's okay to get in Kaleb, the water isn't going to hurt you...."
Ears flat, the little blonde watched to see what his friends would do.

Axel hesitated at the water's edge momentarily, looking out at the saddened youth. Well he could just stand there and let the boy pout...or risk the discomfort of the water and take advantage of the opportunity to rub the boy down. A smirk playing across his lips, he hurried after the youth. "Mind if I help?" he called, approaching the sad little sitarist.

The expression on his friend's face was absolutely heartbreaking, and it only made Kaleb's fidgeting worse. Was Demyx also upset because he was hesitating? The mage abruptly stepped into the water and froze again, this time with his tails poofed out and his wings lifted slightly away from his back. What if the green didn't wash off?

Demyx sunk further in the water as Axel approached, keeping his sad gaze fixed on the red-head.
"Don't you think you helped enough Axel?"
A biting statement perhaps, but Demyx was really trying hard to convey this whole guilt trip thing. Thankfully, for Kaleb at least, it wasn't likely he'd be able to keep it up very much longer.

The red-headed audio's ears flattened, his smirk drooping into a worried frown. He really had upset the kid. It was going to take a lot more than puppies to cheer him up this time. "Dem I....I'll..find some way to make it up to you..." he stammered, reaching out a gentle paw to stroke the boy's head.

Kaleb's own ears flattened as well, and he took a step back and out of the water to fret and worry at the water's edge. This really wasn't good, the last time he had seen Demyx so upset was on their first day at the beach, and that been one of the most traumatizing events of his life. The little mage just barely held back a distressed whine, but he couldn't bring himself to go in the water and join the other two.

"You better not be getting green in my hair...."
Finally, Demyx could hold it in no longer. The gentle touch to his head started a small string of giggles from the boy.
"I know you didn't mean it Axel...but you so owe me! Don't you think I'm going to let you off easy either!"
Black ears perked back up as the sitarist looked over to his friend.
"Erf....Kaleb it's okay!"
