Vanghar Firstly, welcome all! I hope you have fun here. Second, our Guild now has over 50 members! yay! The 50th being Soleri! Oh dear! What an honor. I'm very glad to be here, everyone. I hope to make lots of friends and have many adventures here. I'm 21 and currently live in Southern California (I'm a bit of a traveler). I'm mostly into the literary branch of steampunk, but I truly love most of the steampunk decoration I've seen (on people and walls alike). I'm not much with my hands when it comes to most things, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to give those altered welding goggles a whirl. I read quite a bit and have often been called "the librarian". I like knowing about anything and everything, so I'm always here for all of you in that regard if need be. And if I don't know about it, I'll research it! I'm crazy like that. All questions are pleasantly welcomed, of course. Once again, I'm happy to be here!

Hrmmm... Well, firstly, 'tis a grand ould pleasure to be here.
Secondly, introductory-type stuff: Me name's Skrae. Aged: 19 looong years. Why here?: Lycan, Sakaki, G. JAmes, and a few others have been slowly intresting me in the world of steampunk and associated themes. I love it so far. Jules Verne is, indeed, a wonderful author. Although honestly, I never knew what steampunk was before I arrived on Gaia. A sad fact, I know. I look forward to both learning more, and well...I RP almost constantly...you'll learn more about meh that way than anything else. *bows* With that, I gladly join your ranks! Onward, steampunk soldiers!!!!!

Sakaki Haruto and I guess I'm here from overdosing on Jules Vern and HG wells as a kid, as well as more recently on steampunk in the forms of Miyazaki anime and the pc game Arcanum. I have always liked steampunk styled designs and drawings as well as the "fashion" I suppose. The entire idea has always amused me since I was a kid.
Skrae is also to blame why I'm here razz but that isn't her fault

Hi guys, I joined Gaia simply to view "A Gentleman's Duel" in the Gaia theatre, but I soon discovered a large amount of users here who share my passion for all things Steampunk. I used to mod over at the Steampunk Forums on Brass Goggles. And before that I helped found one of the first Steampunk mailing lists on Yahoo waaaay back in 1997. But perhaps the most notable contribution I've made was to the Steampunk Music world with my creation Vernian Process. I set out in 2003 to define Steampunk as a musical style, and since then I've been made aware of more artists doing the same thing (though I still like to think I was the originator lol). I've actually been a fan of the genre snce I was about 10 years old back in 1987. But enough about me, it's nice to find a Steampunk guild here on Gaia, and it's nice to make all of your aquaintances. BTW - I noticed a few discussions on here regarding Steampunk as a subculture. You may find it enlightening to follow the link above to the Steampunk Forum, for we have discussed, debated, argued, and agreed over this topic for quite a long time there (I think there is a locked and stickied 6 page thread up there regarding it)

Hello.
I'm fairly new to what is Steampunk. A friend of mine had introduced it to me and had caught my fancy. Ever since then, I've tried to find website including fashion for Steampunk. I am of course, a aspiring fashion designer. But alas, it is difficult to find Steampunk clothing on the web. But I did find some things, and what I did see was truly wonderful. Of course, I believe that when my friend had introduced me to Steampunk, I was already in love with Victorian clothing. He, introducing me to Steampunk, made my love go even further. Of course, now I like my vest with pocket watches and my jewerly made out of scrap metal. But I hope here to find even more then that is Steampunk, to feed my growing love for it.

Hello.
I am Ineffable_Crow. Primarily, my interest in Steampunk lies within literature and film. As a child I enjoyed speculative fiction as well as fiction set in the Victorian era. Imagine my delight when I found that the two can be and were being combined!
It is terribly nice meeting all of you. I look forward to our future conversations.

Hello, I'm Juneau, but you may call me whatever you wish.
First of all, my deepest thanks to Vanghar for inviting me! I didn't know there were so many steampunk residents of Gaia before joining this guild! I must say I'm very happy to be here.
I've been familiar to the steampunk subgenre for some time (mainly I've been hanging out over at Brassgoggles) , but I haven't quite been dressing the part yet, and am still on my search for the perfect goggles. I like just about everything steampunk; fantasy airships, sky pirates, and machines in particular.
I hope to have a lot of fun here!

Hallo! Thought I'd put my two pence in. I'm Nonee, new to the Steampunk genre, and yet finding I've liked a lot of things adjacent to it. I'm something of a history geek, and more of a comic geek. I draw lots and am learning to sew. Hopefully I'll be up to making a real steampunk costume someday! whee
I look forward to learning more about the genre and everyone here. 3nodding

Greetings, one and all. The name's ClockworkNinja, but you can shorten that any way you please. Nonee told me about this sanctuary and I decided to take refuge myself. I've been a big fan of clockpunk and steampunk for some time. Even tried dabbling in clockwork (curse my clumsy, flipper hands!). Other steampunk fun include Arcanum, various fictions, and movies like Steamboy.

Greetings and salutations! m'name's Super Lazar, but i go by Admiral Janus around my friends. at least.....in the real world.....with the only other person i know who's into steampunk in my school.....any who, yeah.
Introductory stuffs:
name: Lazar i'm's 17 i enjoy anime, manga, american comics, and sci fi from all era's i first read 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea when I was 11, and was enthralled by it. I prefer King Solomon's mines though. I've admittedly only just learned about the phrase "Steampunk" last week. I called my self a "Verne-inanistic person" untill then. Me and my friend invent and build stuff like that. I'm going to be in a "Mono-wheel" gang that consists of me and a good friend and.....i'm a cartoonist. I don't do avi art, but i'll draw your avi in the style of my comic character's, and use it in a four panel comic with mine. as long as your avi isn't to crazy cluttered only other condish: you write the script
