Yelping she smack the ground then shakes her head wondering what just happen. Looking up she chuckles then closes her eyes "It seems we both play dirty." moving her hands she wraps them around both his wrist never looking away from him.
Chucklign she tilts her head "For someone who didn't knwo how to play, you seem to get it now." pushing up with her hands she tries to get up into a sitting position.

In a rare, charitable moment, Kane allowed her to climb to a sitting position...though he wasn't about to let her go to pounce him again.
Of course it never occurred to him how questionable this might look to anyone that just stumbled across them right now.
Eyes flashing, he gave her another mysterious smirk before leaning in closer. "I'm a fast learner."

Kika smirks tilting her head then chuckles "I must admit you are a fast learner." turning her hands slightly she place them in his own hands "I won't attack you again I promise. Your alright Kane, for a cat." pulling away slightly she looks away then wrinkles her nose.
Okay did she just really say that? Shaking her head she closes her eyes now very confused. Was this the pae'il in her speaking? The wolf in her was barking at her calling her insane.

Raising an eyebrow, Kane's curiosity was peaked. He could sense Kika's confusion and he figured she could probably sense his as well. She did seem to possess many of the same skills afterall, even if her behavior was radically different.
He glanced down oddly at their hands. Why had she done that? He wasn't sure why, but something about this suddenly made him feel...uncomfortable. Covering for this, he swiftly leapt aside, adopting a casual-looking seated position as he smirked back at her. "Yeah, well...it's not like I couldn't take it if you did." The cocky smirk was back now, and he leaned back as he surveyed Kika with narrowed eyes. "You're not half bad for a dog either, Kika."
Still grinning at her arrogantly, Kane secretly waged a war with his own instincts. They were practically screaming at him that this was all wrong; that he shouldn't be fraternizing with another predator, let alone a canine! He was going to get himself killed.
So said his instincts. And they'd never been wrong before.
...weren't they due?

Kika tilts her head slightly shaking her head "Is this before or after you lose?" chuckling she sits back on her knees as she arches her back to pop it. What seem almost like a groan she smiles as she relaxes "Thanks I think?" looking away she frowns slightly "Where Kal'daka? She must have headed back home without me. Probably found a rabbit to chase." growling she shook her head.
Looking down she digs her nails into the dirt for a moment "You know its funny. Growing up my pack always told me to stay away from felines. That they are dangerious, not saying that your not." looking up she smiles alittle "But your different, I actually find it rather fun to be around you."

'Fun?' What an odd idea. Though, the foreign concept secretly intrigued Kane. Just because he didn't quite understand it now, didn't mean he couldn't. Or didn't want to.
He merely smirked at most of what Kika said, staying silent for some time before responding. "As I said, you're not bad for a canine either. I never had anyone to tell me to stay away from canines, in my case; I pretty much had to figure it out myself. Had a few run-ins with wolves in my own past," he admitted. "You learn a lot of things the hard way when you're alone," he continued, glancing back up at Kika.
A strange thought crossed his mind and before he could stop it, the words seemed to flow from Kane's lips without resistance.
"What's it like to have a pack?"

Glancing over at Kane she arches a brow for a moment thinking. She wasn't sure at first how to explain what a pack was. She thought everyone knew. Making a face she chuckles "A pack is like a family, you help eachother, only the difference is in a pack you also die for eachother." frowning she looks down as she rubs at her arm.
Thinking about her pack almost brought tears to her eyes. Taking a deep breath she looks back up at him, trying to hide the weak feeling. But she knew that she was failing as she quickly wiped at her eyes.

A family, eh? Yeah, he'd had one of those once. He thought. Though it wasn't quite the same picture as Kika painted, he couldn't think of any other word to describe his relationship with Takeko, Aspen, and...the thing. Okay, fine...Cabel. Despite the fact that Kane hadn't been too pleased with them all at the time, they each had their moments. He'd have to think harder to find one for Cabel...but not the point. They had been a family once, even if he hadn't seen any of them again since he'd been a child.
Picking up the distinct scent of salt in the air, Kane's slitted eyes darted towards Kika, narrowing as he found the source of the smell. So...she wasn't completely unlike other females, it seemed. Though...at least she didn't pitch a fit like most femmes when they were upset. It had to be a femme thing though...this...crying thing. They were the only ones he'd ever seen do that. Ugh...emotions. Kane was glad he didn't have 'em.
"I see," he said, deciding it was easier to ignore her tears and move on than trying to deal with them directly. Not that he'd know how anyway. "Think I had a pack...err, family once, though I can't said I'd have died for 'em." He talked smoothly, waving one hand in the air dismissively...though his words were a lie. He wouldn't admit it outright, not even to himself as he wasn't sure, but when he thought of Takeko, there was some momentary doubt. He couldn't seem to dismiss her as easily as he thought he should be able to.
It was...disconcerting.
"So, you and Kal'daka are a pack now?" Something had upset her earlier in what she'd said. He wasn't that oblivious, and he wasn't sure which direction to take the conversation in order to keep from upsetting her further. He didn't need a sobbing female to deal with. "It's obvious by how close you are."

Kika nods alittle before she chuckles "Yea, she like a little sister to me. See were all that left from the pack we were with. She was a cub when everyone else was killed." standing she brushes off her knees as she walks towards the stream "She was wounded, but I manage to take care of her." with a light shrug she wraps her arms around her waist.
"Now she watches over me, she wants to see me happy. So she urge me to come back out of hiding. I found my father again, and I'm learning what its liek to not be alone." turning she looks at him chuckling "Even though I have my family, and Kal'daka. I don't know, I feel as if something might be missing. But I'm not sure what." sighing she kicks a rock intot he stream.

Kane couldn't help but wonder what could have happened to destroy an entire wolf pack and leave a mere pup and a young Pae'il alive. He knew better than to ask thought. This wasn't the best time, curious though he may be.
"Missing, huh?" He wouldn't admit it, but a similar feeling had been haunting him for the past few weeks as well. Maybe even months at this point; it was hard to judge. He had food, shelter, water...what could possibly be missing? While he could think of nothing, the feeling wouldn't go away that there was some hole in his life that needed to be filled. Some essential factor was missing. Although...
"Even if you're not sure, perhaps you have a guess? Any ideas on what it might be that you think is missing?" He asked casually, as if he could care less, but he listened intently for her answer. Perhaps if she could find her own answer, it would help him figure out how to find his.

Kika looks over at him for a moment before she looks down at her hands "Not really sure, ifs just this feeling I've had since I became an adult. Like I'm happy that I have Kal'daka, but apart of me wishes that I had someone else." shaking her head she sighs "That doesn't make sense though, wanting more then just the companionship." pausing she looks over at Kane for a moment.
"I mean, its like my parents..when I saw them together I was happy. I guess its something liek that, I want that feeling.." rubbing at her temples she growls shaking her head. Not only was she thinking to hard, but she didn't understand anythign she had just said.

Great, that was helpful.
"Hmm...can't say it makes much sense to me either," he commented flippantly, secretly letting his sharp mind mull idea over a bit. "Your parents? What sort of feeling? Like, being with someone else then, another Pae'il?" Inadvertently, Kane had made yet another accidental leap to conclusions. Possibly a correct one.
He thought back again, to what seemed like ages ago. Takeko and Aspen...the closest thing he'd ever had to parents, he supposed. Usually, they were alright in his eyes. Takeko had his respect and Aspen...well, if Takeko had dubbed him a worthy mate, and Aspen had proven that he was capable of taking care of his mate...then that was enough for Kane's respect, even a grudging one.
Of course, anytime they'd started any of that mushy crap, Kane hightailed it out of there as fast as possible.
"So, secretly, you really do want to be a Pae'il as well as a wolf then?" Kane eyed Kika carefully, as if studying her intently. "Is that what this is all about? You're conflicted, even if you don't want to admit it to yourself?"
Perhaps that hit a little too close to home...

Kika looks at him making a face before she shook her head "No I love being a wolf. Its just...." sighing she looks down at the ground rubbing at her temples for a moment "I'm not conflicted...I know what I want." she was lying, and she knew it. In truth she didn't know what she wanted, none of this made sense to her at all.
Looking at Kane she push her hair from her face before she lunges at him. She was aiming to pin him, just so they could get pass this topic. It wasn't that she didn't want to answer the questions, she just didn't know how.

"I never said you didn't love it," Kane smirked at the look she shot him. "Just suggesting that maybe you wanted to see what it was like to be a Pae'il too."
Refusing to acknowledge that he was psychoanalyzing himself as well as her, Kane chuckled. "Do you? Do you really know?"
'Do any of us, I wonder?'
She almost caught him completely by surprise. Almost.
Grinning, he knew he couldn't move in time, but let her hit him instead. Reaching up, he grabbed her hands even as he rolled back, wings carefully tucked flat when he hit the ground. Fingers entwined with hers, he smirked up at her cheekily, raising an eyebrow.
"Heck of a way to end a conversation. Can't take the truth, dearie?"

Looking at her hands in his Kika look back down at him, she couldn't speak. A rather confused look appear on her face as she pulls her hands away from his then climbs off of him. Shaking her head she stands turning her back to him. Her hands ball up into fist before she growls.
Looking over her shoulder she still look very confused, but at the same time anger was on her face. She wasn't angry at him, she was angry at herself. Closing her eyes she exhales "No I can't..." she didn't speak again as she looks down at her feet.
