Just then Zoet glanced skyward and gave a little gasp. "Oh dear, it's much later than I thought it was!" She wrinkled her nose. "My father wants to meet for an early breakfast, so I really should go get what sleep I can before the sun rises." She tipped her head to the side and smiled at the odd looking stallion. "Thank you," she said plainly. "You have made the night pleasant beyond what it would have been otherwise. I would love to talk more later, if it suits you."
She was very honest in that, but also honest in the extent to which she offered. Talk, not intimacy of the physical kind. She didn't mind so much now that he had asked. If anything, his candid inquiry had helped her to understand her own motivations better. She liked having clear ideas about what she wanted. But she also felt she'd made a friend tonight. "I'll see you later, 'Tony." She nickered a goodbye and turned to trot off into the darkened woods, humming a tune to herself and letting her hooves strike the beat as she went.
