Kibo: Ah, I don't think I'm the best person to explain that.
He crosses his blades, and a man appears, a long cloak around his shoulders, and spirits, in the form of balls, floating lazily around him.
Kibo: This is Christopher Farind, my mentor.
Farind: Dammit, Kibo! I was in the middle of something! Ships don't captain themselves!
Kibo: Ahem? You're a part of my fleet now. Show a little more respect.
Farind raps his knuckles on Kibo's forehead.
Farind: Don't use that tongue with me, litt'lun.
He turns to Bigs.
Farind: I taught Kibo everything he knows about Necromancy. He crewed on my ship, the Burning Glory, for several years, until she sank. Now I captain a ship given to me by him, the Blazing Glory. Oh, and in case you haven't already realized it, I'm dead.

"I realized it from what he said about only one of his ships being captained by someone alive. But so what all can you do with...Necromancy?"

Farind: You know, raise the dead, use spirits to change your appearance and let you do things you can't normally do, like walking up walls and flying. Also, something Kibo knows I look down on, but does anyway...
He pauses a moment to slap Kibo in the back of the head.
Kibo: Ow!
Farind: ...Is allowing spirits to possess your body. It can be quite helpful at times, but if they don't want to leave, there's really nothing you can do about it.

Bigs looked shocked at the range of things you could do, "Have you ever thought about bringing Tiny back from the dead?"

Kibo: God, I think he had enough of me when he was alive. Let him enjoy some peace and quiet, huh?

"I guess it would be pretty peaceful to be dead." He thought back to when he nearly did die, along with the rest of his crew. "I wouldn't know anything about it however."

Kibo: It's especially horrible for those who have died, but still walk the earth, either in denial of their own death, or driven by revenge. Those are the most damned spirits I know of.

"That would indeed be interesting." He walked over and tightened a rope, "it would be hard to let go of the fact that your dead."

She walked down to her cabin and got another bottle of rum. She walked back up onto the deck and sat staring into the horizon drinking her rum.

Kibo: Especially the ones who remain only for revenge. They are the worst. A spirit can't harm, or even touch, a human unless given a semi-physical from by a Necromancer. Those are the spirits you see me summon. Spirits are all around you. That's one of the first things a Necromancer must be able to do, is to see these spirits. In fact, one's floating through you right now. See how you can't feel it? Well, it'd be kind of hard to exact revenge when you can't do anything to anyone, no?

"Indeed it would be hard." Bigs looked off toward the sunset, "And how long exactly does it take to become a Necromancer?"

Kibo: It's almost impossible to tell for a particular person. Some people can pick it up immediately, and others try their entire lives, and can't even resurrect a mouse's spirit. Come here.
He leans in, and inspects Bigs' eyes. He sees a faint glimmer, and grins, stepping back.
Kibo: You'd prolly be able to nail a decent spirit resurrection in about a year of training. But to get a physical resurrection, you'd need a "pact with the damned," I call it. I have two, actually. The first...
He holds up his right hand, and the mark of Sammy the Skull appears in his palm.
Kibo: When Tiny "passed away," he passed on to me all of his captainly duties: control of the ship, control of the crew, and all treaties, agreements, and alliances with other ships; namely Sammy the Skull. That's what first allowed me to physically resurrect someone. But now, I have my left arm, or rather, Charon's left arm. He's technically a "damned," so the pact is valid.
