If you want me to go into the details about when they rewrote the bible (on many occasions,) I'll be glad to. Like in 1540 AD. Let me just say that compared to other religions, Christianity is more about giving those in power control, and NOT about spirituality.

Kyle Riley greyconcepts Oh, I see... Catholicism (I know I can't spell it) offers an inaccurate view of the Bible. Is it inaccurate? I just see it as another view. ~ I Love Tommy ~ I don't know ALOT about it, but I do know that it greatly contradicts the Bible, and sometimes changes things... The main differences I've been taught about it, is the path to heaven, views on afterlife, ect....all which are different from what the Bible really says.

[Appley Goodness] goodkarma97 [Appley Goodness] Kyle Riley [Appley Goodness] Just because it may be sexist does NOT mean they would alter the word of God because of it. That is a sin. A sin worthy of Hell. Why would they alter the word of God and risk Hell just because they are sexist? It's people who convert because their "beliefs" don't agree with everyone else's that get to me. Oh well, more room in Heaven for me I guess. As long as Tom is in Hell with me, I'm fine. ~ I Love Tommy ~ An eternity of suffering where you will never see Tom is okay? Well, I guess that is what you are condemning yourself to.
you seem so sure of his fate. i do not believe it is your decision that decides what happens to him in the afterlife. and if i have/am been/being at all insulting, please forgive me. it was not at all intended. i am merely giving my two cents.Umm, yeah. You do not accept God, you are going to Hell. Hell=Eternity of Suffering. It says in the Bible. Why do I believe in the Bible so much to be the truth, it's called Faith. Religions are built around it. so what you are saying, is that just because i am not christian, means i am going to hell? well, i got news for ya, buster. i was baptized okay? i hate that i was, but nothing i can do about that.
what if i accept god in a different way? how about Goddess and God? Lord and Lady? Mother and Father?
and what about the people who are athiest? just because they do not have the same ideas as you, means they are condemned to a fate worse than yours just because you are too close minded to even try to understand anyone else's beliefs? i think not.

greyconcepts Actually, there are plenty of stories in the Bible about women who did great things. The reason why mostly men are featured is because in those times, men were the leaders. Which is still true in these days. And Eve did not have to accept the fruit. And Adam did not have to accept the fruit. but in the story, eve WAS the one to accept the fruit. how come she was more easily tempted? how come adam was the bright and shining star? coincidence? i think not.

I think that depends on which history you're reading up on.
The Catholic church back then was all about control, but there were those who went against the church to translate and distribute the Bible.
Noone is truly wrong when it comes to spirituality, but only God is right. Christianity is about a relationship, not religion.

St Bailey ` F a c e l e s s i never really fully believed that there was a god.
things like that just made me despise the stereotypical christians.
but i do have some friends who are christians.
so i know not all are rude and obnoxious. 3nodding yes, not all are like that. some homophobia within the church was only ONE reason why I left. I try not to judge, it's just the church wasn't doing it for me and I left, simple as that. I have nothing against christians what so ever. 3nodding I'm like you, homophobia is one of my reasons

But, the Bible specifically states that Eve was a part of Adam, so if anyone is to blame, Adam is! Which is total crock anyway, since Adam didn't have to accept the fruit from Eve.

Yeah. So back to what you were saying- Eve gets the blame for Adam's downfall!
Oh dear. This doesn't help anyone else's views on Christianity, does it? For we could just blame God for giving Adam curiosity.
But if God took away everything we didn't like.... What if someone blamed God for creating free-willed humans?
We wouldn't know the difference! rofl

see, what i belive is a little different. i don't believe "God" created us. (i'm going to use "God" in quotes because i believe something different. i don't want to offend anyone by doing this. it would just take too long to type out what i believe.) i think that there is no sin. there is only karma. sometimes tradtional sins can give horrible consiquences, and sometimes not. depending on the situation. example: say a man cheats on his wife, but still loves her with all his heart. when she finds out, she divorces him. does he need that punishment on top of hell because he sinned?
