Spoilers for Finale

LUCKY> I'm too poor. But I am so getting the movie on dvd. Mainly because I hope they have commentary on there that will explain some of the stuff I didn't get. Like maybe, I don't konw, !That meesed up out of the blue no warnig or mutual feeling kataang kiss
I was only able to buy because I got a giftcard for (I think) Christmas. xD

Spoilers for Finale

I would like an explanation for that, as well. Dx I'm really, really confused as to how Katara went from confused (and no evidence of any feelings, for that matter) to "OMG! ILU let's kiss!". And, you know, the whole 'using the Avatar State' but sacrificing nothing' thing.

Spoilers for Finale
Katara and aang fought for the last 6 episodes
they only talked once during the entire finale in the beggining when they were fighting and they're disagreement was quickly followed by a brilliant Zutara moment in which Zuko calms Katara down which is something he seems to be an experct at. And Aang has been poked in the back before but one rock hits him and all of a sudden he's mister glowy. I guess they had to simplify it for the kids even though I'm sure they're just as confused as we are
Spoilers for Finale! Highlight to read:

Exactly! Katara and Aang kept having little arguments throughout the last few episodes, a rather major one in EIP, while Zuko and Katara are growing closer and closer, comforting each other and bonding and having a well-balanced give-and-take relationship, much different from Aang's take-take-take relationship with Katara. It doesn't make sense. :/

I still don't understand the Avatar Sate thing - that was definitely a bad cop-out on Bryke's part. However, I can kinda understand the Spiritbending and the message they were trying to give: killing isn't the only way to solve problems. Though, in this case, it sorta is, since, well, Ozai doesn't need firebending to be manipulative and evil. There's bound to be people in the Fire Nation who still believe in the war and its cause who would be more than willing to help Ozai out. Plus,he could pick up a new skill -sword fighting or something - and be just as dangerous as he was before. So, really, Aang didn't do himself much good. :/ He had good intentions, it just might not work out so well.Plus, I'm still baffled as to how he managed to learn an ancient technique he had only ever heard about.

Yeah, it's probably half keeping it simple for younger viewers and half using bad cop-outs so their self-inserts favourite characters can get whatever they want. Though, I don't quite understand why Zuko would want Mai. She doesn't exactly put in a huge effort to understand him or his problems. D:

... I think I rambled too much. xD

Spoilers for finale:
In the spoilers they kind of explain it a little better but it was still so confusing. I'm buying the dvd to hear the commentary and get answers. What would make my day is if one of the creators admitted they were Zutara. ZUKAANG HAD MORE SCENES THEN KATAANG FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. and Zukka too. Even Toko. And its pretyy matched with Junroh. The only reason I could think that they'd put that many Zutara moments in there and throw in a random Kataang kiss is because they wanted to do Zutara but feared that the kids wouldn't get it. AND I STILL HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THAT TURTLE LION SAID!!!!!
Highlight to read:

I think they did so much Zutara to throw shippers off - you know, make them uncertain of what pairing would be the final outcome. Which, you know, is fine and dandy, but they did it completely wrong. They needed to balance the Zutara and Kataang so that both seemed equally likely, not pile on Kataang in the beginning of the series, then pile on Zutara at the end, because the most recent events are the most impactful to the ending.

I think the lion-turtle said something like "In my time, before the bending of the elements, people bended the energy within us". Something along those lines.

I actuaaly felt bad for the Kataangers. They got a butt load of nothing. Just a meaningless kiss

Agreed. We got meaningful, dramatic moments that are all epic and shiny. =D Plus, a fandom full of talent and geniuses that can twist canon into whatever we want.

Or fanon is more pwoer full and satisfiying then their canon. I've already seen over a dozen Zutara vids using footage from only the finale(of course viacom shut them down). I'd like to see a Kataanger do that with the 2minutes of footage that Kataang had. A childish argument that was followed by Zutara and a random kiss. Good luck with that

As Sokka said it was very unclear. I so wanted Zuko to go into an emo depressed state when he found out Jet was dead. It never would have worked out between them with Nick and Bryke breathing down their throats but man would have been SWEETNESS

Hehe. xD I was hoping for that, too. It would've been hilarious and heartbreaking.
