Kaosu smiled. "I don't think this is what he had in mind." He looked at Tsai oddly then. "What exactly are you doing?" He was referring to the whole pick and rope thing. "Going to mine the Sokyoku?" He laughed. "That's not a smart way to train I think."

Tsai closed his eyes and smiled to himself. "The pick and rope together are going to act as a grappling hook for me. And if that isn't enough to tell you what I am doing. I'm going to climb Sokyoku Hill for training. It will work my strength, endurance and speed because I'm going to be timing myself," he said as he tossed a neatly tied set of rope to the feet of Kaosu. "I might already know why your here, tie that rope tightly around the tsuba of your zampakuto and you can use it as a grappling hook," Tsai said now spinning his pick and rope.
Tsai soon let the pick go as it hit one of the many ledges on Sokyoku's rocky climb. As it hit the ledge and grabbed on, Tsai tugged on the rope to make sure it was secure. "I'll see you at the top," he said pressing a button a timer, putting away and began his ascent.

Kaosu looked straight up at the gigantic hill, overwhelmed slightly. He shook his head, regaining his composure. He tied the rope to his tsuba and spun his zanpaku-to a few times, finally letting it go into the air. He waited, and was rewarded by it lodging itself into a rock high up. He smiled as he gripped the rope, and used his legs against the rock face to walk vertically. It seemed easy, but he was only a few feet off of the ground.
"So...what time do we have to get up there?"

"I don't know," Tsai muttered. "This is my first run on it, but I'm rushing up it," he said as his hands moved quickly coordinating with his feet as he scurribed up grabbing onto ledges until he had reached his pick. When he did he would toss it up again hoping to hit something. It'd be dangerous then, since he'd have no support and have to rely on his own strength as support.
This was the best training Tsai could think of. The only way one can improve is if he reaches his limit, then pushes so that he can continue further than that. "Come on Kaosu hurry up," he shouted as he continued moving up.

Kaosu sighed. The whole rope thing was getting annoying. He untied the rope from his zanpaku-to and sheathed it again. Hmm. I live on the wild side. Then, without aid, he began climbing straight up the rock face. He had tied the rope around his ankle. He finally caught up with Tsai, sweat beading off his brow. "Unh...fun stuff and we aren't all but ten feet off the ground, eh?" He waited for an answer as he kept climbing.

"We are approximately around 7 feet from the ground, you were close Kaosu," he commented as he continued to go up. "Kaosu, might I warn you that if you fall when we get higher up, you'll die for sure,"
Tsai's hands were cutting cut and hurting from pulling himself up on such a rocky surface but he continued. "Kaosu..I was wondering did anything else happen when I was hospitalized?' Tsai asked out of the blue. He wanted to catch up the things that he missed. They were barely even 10% up the hill and his hands already hurt. "I wonder if I should use that pain numbing technique?' Tsai thought as he went up. This would be his first time using it but it would be better not to since he didn't know how to use it yet.
Tsai then decided against it silently without any signs that he was thinking and proceeded moving up.

Karite heard exactly what the old man had said and knew what to do. He had to make himself stronger and faster. After his last fight, he couldnt even hit the little b*****d yet he kept getting closer to hitting him. If what he said was true about the intruders he had to train his speed and strength...no everything about him harder then anyone. He was one of the newest members to court of pure souls. He wasnt going to leave it so quickly. He looked around and though the quickest way to get anything done would be to fight himself. Karite turned and ran and ran faster comeing to the edge of the cliff. He jumped. No rope to catch him he just jumped. He was now free falling to the ground which seemed like it would be his death. Karite was smarter then that, what seemed like 20 feet from the ground he ripped out his zanpaktou and stabbed it into the base of the moutain. He jerked and was hanging by his own sword. He put a hand in a crevese and pulled out his zanpaktou and sheathed it. It would be diffcult to climb to the top with speed. He shook his head, this was definetly one of the dumbest ideas Hiro ever had.

Tsai moved on without an answer from Kaosu. He didn't have time for chit-chat with his dear friend. His training was timed afterall and he did have a long way to go up. There would be no rests while going up so he'd have to go as quickly as possible but also conserve energy. If push comes to shove, he could always drop down a couple hundred feet. Sure, he'd break a few bones or...die but he'd learn and gain something from it all.
He shook his head and continued his way up.

Kaosu was slowly getting smaller and smaller as he moved up, he wasn't even a quarter of the way up the slope. This was going to be a long climb, but Tsai wasn't quite tired yet. He looked down, the view was somewhat pretty. From what he could see, the gates of Seireitei were now closed. He was about 18 ft above the ground now and continuing his training.
Tsai began thinking about his battle with the woman known as Chimitsu. "How could I defeat a woman like her? She's powerful enough without a shikai, but she also has a powerful shikai as well...man, there has to be a way I can gain more power..." he continued to brainstorm.

Then it struck brain like a thunderbolt. "The only way I can even try to touch her...is if I unlock my shikai as well!" he looked down at his side and stopped for a moment. His zampakuto was doddling by his side. "I'll learn your name even if it kills me.." Tsai muttered and then continued. "Hmm if I remember correctly, there is a class specialized in shikai, but now that the classes are all messed up, maybe I can try to find something at the library later.." his thoughts continued. The weight of his bag was starting to get to him as he progressed up the slope of Sokyoku Hill.
"Why did I decide to bring this bag up with me?' he began to question himself.

His hands, back and feet began hurting a he continued up the slope. He was starting to slow down his pace because of his fatigue suddenly. The weight of the bag was causing Tsai to lose balance and thus use more grip and strength when climbing up to ensure that he didn't fall. It was now about a 35 feet drop from where Tsai was and the only thing holding him up was the pick and the rope. But even the rope had it's limits and would break if Tsai along with his bag suddenly slipped and fell.
He lifted his hand and grabbed another ledge and began pulling himself up, it wasn't a big ledge that would allow him to sit on but it was big enough that Tsai could stand and rest a bit before he continued. However, it also had its downs. Tsai still had to continue to grip onto the very rough rock there so that he wouldn't lose balance and fall. He was very close to his pick and would have to rethrow it sooner or later. Now that he finally found a nice spot to rest he would do so.

Using the power of his right hand to hold the rocky edge where he was standing. Tsai used his left hand to pull the rope so that he could release the pick. The pick fell downwards but no where close to Kaosu. He began reeling it back in so he could rethrow it. This was a hazardous training environment and was very frustrating. One wrong move and Tsai would have fallen but that was the whole point of this training exercise. It was to boost Tsai's mental ability to stay calm in dangerous situations to think better, to test his strength, speed, and balance and to get the excess energy out of his system.
The reeling was almost done, Tsai began spinning the self-made grappling hook and tossed it. It wasn't as lucky as the first time and with a simple tug it loosened and fell again. Tsai had to reel it back in again...

He once again reeled it back to himself and got ready to throw the grappling hook again. He waited for awhile and released it. This time it was successful and got caught behind a nice strong rock. Tsai tugged of the rope hard 3 times. Each of the three times, the pick and rope remained tight and lodged into the rock.
Tsai could began his climb again. His right hand was shaking from holding onto the ledge for so long but now he had the power of his left hand to back it up. He began thinking about his battle with Chimitsu...

Now, Tsai was abour 30 ft above the ground and about 20ft above Kaosu. "I hope he can catch up to me now.." he joked as he continued. He wondered what Kaosu was doing down there, that was taking him so long to get up. Maybe he was daydreaming? It didn't matter, the whole point of this exercise was to train Tsai's ability to maintain himself in dangerous situations and not get distracted.
He continued to climb higher and higher, the ground seemed to blur as he looked down. The idea of falling down was scary, and Tsai pictured himself after that had happened. It was gruesome.
He shook his head again and resumed his thoughts on his opponent: Chimitsu. "Judging from what I remember from the battle and what information I got from the doctor, her shikai's abilities consist of deteoriation of the skin and reshi system causing most damage to it, but with my new arm I can fight that off..
However, she is also quicker, stronger, and has more than me...which means I have to train myself harder in order to counterbalance those traits"

"But my true focus would be to obtain my own shikai, I wonder how I do that?" he asked himself. Although Tsai was a total bookworm, he had no idea how to obtain shikai. He had read about it in books but even with that the information didn't really help. One book suggested that the zampakuto spirit usually contacted you after you have trained yourself well enough but how would Tsai know if that was true?
Another book stated that each person has a different way of obtaining their shikai whether it be in the time of danger or just while they are sleeping. That sounded more releastic to Tsai. He stopped thinking for a second as he realized that he stopped his climb and continued to move his hands and feet in coordination with each other as he moved at a moderate speed up the cliff.
