Bummer had thought he heard Mariih say something, but he had been too preoccupied with joy to make out the words that were muttered. Lifting his head, he tilted it to the side and blinked, looking at all the room left on the bed, then down at the pillow. "Is... that really how we're supposed to sleep on these?" he asked curiously. He turned his large, golden brown eyes to look at the bed fully, studying it. He had only slept a bed once, and Andie had been cuddling him close and using him as a body-pillow. Other than that, he had never really slept on one. That one time before, he had been too content with his owner's affections to sleep. Besides that, he had guard-dog instincts. It wasn't unusual if he didn't sleep at all. Bummer jumped up off the bed and pulled off his white tank top, scratching at his now bare chest for a moment. Finally, he flopped back onto the bed and moved around a bit, trying to find a comfortable position. "How do you...?" the younger german shepherd started to ask, though it seemed as if he was talking to himself out of confusion. He seemed to give up after awhile, curling up at the bottom of the bed, looking up to Mariih to tilt his head cutely. "Like this?"

Mariih chuckled again and sat on the edge of the bed. "Not quite. Though I think some do sleep like that." He replied with a slight shake of his head. "In most cases..." He started to explain, taking Bummer's ankles and stretching his legs out, "...You'd sleep with the full length of your body..." he gently dragging the other's body closer to the top of the bed, "...running the length of the bed..." he finished stretching the canine out along the bed and gave an amused smile. "Somewhat like that. But like I said before there are some people who don't, so i guess it doesn't particularly matter how you sleep." Mariih sat back and looked the younger male over a few times. He stretched a hand out and played with Bummer's hair for a few minutes before flopping himself on the bed to lay beside him.

The young german shepherd didn't blush, when perhaps most others would have. Instead, he watched carefully, allowing his body to be guided through the process. To him, it was not just physical contact, it was a lesson. A lesson that he would like to learn, in hopes that eventually he'd be allowed to sleep in the house more often, regardless of whether he had company or not. "So there aren't any rules to follow when sleeping in a bed?" Bummer tilted his head to the side and put the pillow beneath his head. Though, given the fact that he was often labeled as a personal space invader, he rolled closer to Mariih. The fact stood that he was an affectionate canine, who enjoyed physical contact rather than shunned it. Sadly, he had a tendancy to not understand why some people were uncomfortable with it. Bummer's tail wiggled, and he cuddles up against Mariih, sighing contently. "You're warm."

"Technically, no. There's just usual and unusual. It's almost the same as sleeping anywhere else, I think." Mariih muttered closing his eyes lightly. He found himself in a slightly uncomfortable situation, but didn't say anything. Instead he shuffled himself a little closer to the younger male, avoiding the possibility of slipping off the bed, and started playing with Bummer's hair again. "Warm? Is that a good thing? Someone usually only says that when it's cold and then they call me a freak because I'm not freezing like they are." He asked wondering if it meant the younger male was going to think he was strange as well.

Bummer wagged his tail when his hair was played with, making happy sounds, similar to the sounds a puppy would make. Looking up at Mariih, he blinked and shook his head lightly, smiling at the other. "A freak? No... you being warm is a good thing. You're warm like Faded, and warm how I remember my family being..." He murmured quietly, before blinking to slowly lift his head. Looking over his shoulder, he grinned and rolled over towards the other side of the bed again. "I'm guessing if there are any rules about sharing a bed, there has to be an equal amount of room for both people," he chuckled out. "Sorry," he added quietly, tail still wagging as he watched Mariih for a moment.

"That's good." He said before shuffling to get further away from the edge of the bed. "I don't mind if it's not equal. Just so long as I'm not going to wake up after falling on the floor." He muttered eying the not-so-soft looking floor. He hid a yawn by tugging the shirt he'd borrowed off, finding the unfamiliar scent and texture uncomfortable anyway. Was he really that uncomfortable? 'Nerves going skitz' he told himself knowing that it was all in his head. "Is your family nice?" Mariih asked closing his eyes again and letting out a slight sigh. His body lay still apart from his chest rising and falling slowly and the german shephard felt as though he was going to fall away. But Mariih refused to let himself fall asleep so soon. He'd feel awkward in the morning if he'd fallen asleep during a conversation, but he wanted to know more about Bummer. He didn't have a terrible lot of friends and would love to add the younger canine's name to the list.

Bummer had yet to realize, if he ever would, that Mariih was feeling uncomfortable. The younger german shepherd had never found himself in an uncomfortable situation. Well, most people would find all the situations he had been in uncomfortable, but he was so emtionally damaged that he couldn't feel uncomfortable... and he had never blushed before in his life. "My family?" Bummer asked softly, closing his eyes. His tail had stopped wagging a the word 'family,' and he was quick to burrow under the covers, hugging onto his pillow. The canine was starved of attention, that was what caused him to be clingy and affectionate - a personal space invader. "Papa left us... and Mama didn't want me. I guess.. I never knew my siblings, or my parents..." he murmured softly. "Faded calls me 'big brother,' though. She's a very nice dog. She lets me cuddle her, and she even lets me win at tug-o-war... and she's the reason that I'm not being kicked out of the house anymore. Andie... I don't want people to think she's a meany. I love her, and although she calls me 'Bad Dog' a lot, and makes me sleep outside... sometimes she just holds onto me for hours. I guess... they're my family." He said quietly, burrying his face in the pillow as he thought about his real family. He couldn't remember their names, or what they looked like. He only remembered the warmth of his siblings... After that, he had been taken away by some people when his mama decided she didn't want him anymore. Those people never fed him, or hugged him, or played with him. They kept him on a thick towing chain in a closed off area by the wood pile. Then... then Andie came into his life, and saved him. Took him home, loved him, played with him, and fed him. She even gave him baths! Even though sometimes she said she hated him, she always got sad afterwards and let him sleep in her bed. She was very nice.

Mariih listened intently to every word Bummer said. He felt sorry for the younger canine, the fact his mother didn't want him. He couldn't even begin to imagine what it'd be like with a parent who wanted to disown you. "I'm glad you have Faded and Andie now. Even if they're not related, they're still your family... Because you're cared for." The older german shepherd muttered wrapping his arms around the smaller body and hugging him gently. "I don't remember my family either... My real one, I mean. When I was really young I got lost out in a rural area and couldn't find my way back. I got a new family when some hunting dingoes found me almost starved to death." He said softly. He called them his family, but they never felt like one to him. He didn't have parents or siblings withing the pack. He was just kind of there. They treated him more as a friend who lived with them. He'd only ever gotten close to Naviskis, most of the other youngsters at the time teased him and picked on him because he was a different breed. "Families can be complex things... I've never heard of one that wasn't." He muttered trying to convince himself that he wasn't missing anything by not having a proper one. He didn't miss the pack. He was glad to get away from them, but he couldn't deny the major part they all played in his life.

The younger german shepherd lifted his head from beneath the covers, and away from the pillow, just so that he could nuzzle at some of Mariih's hair when the other hugged him gently. It was odd that even though he was starved for attention, he wasn't completely needy. True enough that he was clingy and affectionate, but he wasn't exactly needy. He could go on perfectly fine if he wasn't allowed to hug or cuddle people. He would still have Faded and Andie. But deep down, the adolescent craved for something deeper than that, though he didn't know it. Only recently had he even realized that he liked men and not women, and Faded had to help him to understand what that meant. "You're right..." he murmured lightly, frowning a little when the other explained about his own family. "I'm sorry... I may not be able to be your family, but I can be your friend?" The younger canine smiled and wagged his tail lightly.

Mariih smiled a little awkwardly, feeling both loneliness and sleepiness try to drown him. Thinking about what he'd left behind reminded him that he was pretty lonely even before he left the pack. Even now with Naviskis keeping him company, he still felt alone in the world. "I'd love for you to be my friend." He replied warmly and slightly sleepily. He gave a hidden yawn and closed his heavy eyelids. "I enjoy your company... Your different from other the other people I've met. I like that..." He muttered, not really paying much attention to what he was saying, though he really meant it. He'd not connected with many people lately, and felt uneasy around most of them at first. That wasn't the case with Bummer. He trusted the german shepherd pretty much from the start.

Bummer smiled softly and watched as the older german shepherd started to slowly drift off to sleep. The younger canine lightly reached out to pet his hair a few times, before loosely tangling his fingers into it. Not so that they were impossibly tangled up, but just enough for him to feel comforted. He usually did that to Faded when they slept, he had done that ever since she was a pup. It was nice to have his fingers in soft hair again... it felt comforting. Bummer's brilliant golden brown eyes slowly closed, and he exhaled contently. "Goodnight Mariih," he whispered out through a yawn, before he dozed off into a light, content slumber.

Had he been a cat, Mariih may have started purring with Bummer's fingers in his hair and body close. He hadn't shared a bed with someone in a long time and now realised how much he missed it. He wondered for a few seconds what the others at home were doing without him. But then it didn't matter. "'Night, Bummer..." Mariih replied opening an eye a crack to see the younger canine one last time before he fell asleep. As usual, Mariih fell into a deep sleep. It would take a lot to wake him. Strangely the older german shepherd hugged the younger closer to him in his sleep. Was it perhaps a result of the lack of company?

Bummer slowly woke hours later, and was a little confused when he didn't feel the sun warming his skin. He was warm, but it wasn't the sun that was causing the warmth... It was two arms wrapped around him to hug him close. It took him a moment to remember everything that happened. Nothing bad, nothing he'd regret... but... Oh, now he remembered! Mariih had needed a place to stay for the night, and Andie allowed them both to sleep inside! That's what happened. Bummer yawned tiredly, a little whine slipping out with the yawn. The younger canine's tail wagged slowly, as he contently snuggled closer to the warmer and larger body beside him. A few moments later his eyes popped open and he wiggled out of Mariih's arms, scrambling to sit on the older german shepherd. "Mariih! Mariih, wake up! Its morning!"

A soft murmur slipped through the older canine's lips as Mariih came back to the conscious world. He blinked a few times, not used to the light. This wasn't his room... and the german shepherd that woke him wasn't anyone who lived with him. Did he do something he shouldn't have last night? He glanced down at himself for a split second to find he wasn't even wearing his own clothes. "Wha-" He started about to ask what was going on. He soon remembered where he was and who the body on top of him was."Oh... It's you. I almost forgot where I was, then." He commented before yawning a little and stretching his arms, "Did you sleep well?" It took him a few seconds longer to process the reason why he couldn't move. Well duh! He couldn't help but smile at himself for his idiot moment. "You comfy there?" he asked with a little chuckle trying to wriggle underneath him playfully.

"I almost forgot where I was too," Bummer said with a grin and a little chuckle. He tilted his head to the side for a moment and looked down at Mariih before nodding his head. "Mhm, I did sleep real well. You're warm~" He said with a big grin. The younger canine wagged his tail happily, comfortable sitting on the older canine. "Mhm~" He responded, closing his eyes to stretch and yawn. The german shepherd began giggling when Mariih wiggled playfully beneath him. "I also had to get you up somehow, sleepy head!" He rolled off of the older canine and then pointed towards the pendulum wall clock hanging on the wall opposite to the bed. "Its morning already."
