David sat up and let out a loud, hidious scream before falling back on the bed, covered with a cold sweat. His eyes were wide open, but they were blank.
Hearing the scream, Glaedr woke with a start. "David?" Seing the condition of his friend, he rushed to his side. Looking to Ziven, he said, "It must be the poison..."

Standing quickly, the book she was reading fell to the ground with a dull sound. Looking from David to Glaedr, she nearly panicked. "Poison? Why did not you speak of this sooner! We must help him!" she said in a shaky tone.

Small tremors shook David's body, his eyes retained a blank stare, and cold sweat dripped down his face.
"It is only because I did not know of it sooner. At this stage, there is but one thing that can cure him..."
His face twistid as he sat bolt upright and screamed the single word, "Blood!!!"
"...yes, blood, pure, unspoiled blood..." Glaedr shook his head. "I'm sorry Ziven, but you are the only one who can donate to him..."

Staring at him, her brow furrowed, looking deeply troubled. "He broke his promise." she said softly, with childlike disappointment. With a soft sigh, she lowered her head, and sat on the bed beside him, looking to him with sorrowful concern, trying to remain still as she did not know what they would require of her.

Glaedr roared at her. "THIS IS NO TIME FOR IMMATURE 'PROMISES.' HIS LIFE IS ON THE LINE, AND THIS TIME HE WON'T COME BACK!!!"

Ziven whimpered and trembled, frightened at what Glaedr may do in his upset for Davids safety. She had held out her wrist for David to feast on, what more could she do? If he did not want to drink from her wrist, would not he simply grab her and bite her neck or somewhere else he wanted to? Her voice was small and trembling as she sat on the edge of Davids bed. "What more do I do?"

Glaedr reached into one of David's pockets and pulled out a small metal box and some clear tubes with some needles. "It's going to be a simple transfusion...This..." He held up the box. "This will remove most of the poison from his blood before it is transfered to you, and your dragon blood will sort out the rest...while that's happening, your blood wil be going to him in a seperate tube, and, as i said, your dragon blood will help remove the poison from his system, speeding up the process."

Still trembling, she looked from the tubes to David, back to the tubes, then to Glaedr. The last time she had seen such equipment, Seisuke had put something in her that caused her to change. She was fearful that she would again change but because of the circumstances, she would not say anything. She simply nodded her head, accepting the responsibility of making sure that David could be well again.

Glaedr took Ziven's hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. "Don't worry, you'll be fine. I promise." He quickly set up the device, but didn't stick the needles in yet. "Ziven, you need to relax...if you are shaking like that when i try to stick the needle in, i might miss, meaning i'll have to do it again..."

She looked at him with surprise when he took her hand but tried not to show it. When he asked her to relax, she took a deep breath and lowered her head, thinking of other times that were more calm, more preferred. "As you wish, Bjartskular." she replied softly, wanting to assure him that she would make things right. "Whatever is needed."

He smiled at her as he quickly tied a tourniquet around their arms as he started singing an ancient elven lulluby to calm Ziven's nerves. He swiftly stuck the needles in and turned on the machine.

Bowing her head slightly, she closed her eyes trying her best to remain as calm as possible despite feeling upset still. She appreciated the song, it helped her to remain calm and collected in this time.

As soon as he was sure the machine was running properly, he walked out of the room for a moment to fetch a bowl of cold water and a cloth. He soaked the cloth and laid it on David's forhead to try to reduce his fevor. Glaedr then walked over to Ziven and gently picked up her hand. "Thank you for your help."

Nodding her head slightly with his words, she did not meet his eyes as she spoke, keeping her head bowed calmly. "Anything for friends, Bjartskular."
