Eudora blinked, looking up in obvious confusion. "Eh? You say something, Shale?" The noise sounded again and she tilted her head before giggling. "Shale's tummy makes funny noises!" Scrambling over, she leaned in close, peering at Shale's tummy. "Do it again!"

Almost as if on cue, Shale's stomach gurgled and rumbled loudly. He sweatdroped a little when Eudora was almost nose to belly button to his stomach. "Udowa...wha' you doin'?" His question came out carefully, not exactly sure what to do.

Eudora simply giggled. "Your tummy makes funny sounds! I like 'em!" She grinned widely, so wrapped up in this new discovery to notice Shale's discomfort.
Cabel chuckled, stepping back in to Shale's rescue. "Those noises mean that you're hungry, Shale. When your stomach is empty, it makes noises like that to remind you to get something good to eat. Anyone's stomach can do that Eudora, though I wouldn't recommend TRYING to make it do that. Now, Shale? Is there anything in particular you like to eat? Perhaps we can find something good around here. I'm getting a little hungry myself."

Shale smiled up to Cabel when the older Pae came to his rescue. He wasn't sure how to act around Eudora, but she seemed friendly enough.
"You no hungee?" He asked her, confused. He knew he was hungry, he was getting that rumbly in his tummy like he got every time when he was about to be fed by Koorie.

Eudora shrugged, giggling. "Dunno...but I could eat! I can eat any time!"
Cabel chuckled to himself, nodding. "You certainly can, my dear. Now, anyone have any special requests for what to eat? I'll see what I can do to fill those requests," he winked, still crouched low to the ground to talk to the young ones.

Shale giggled a little when Eudora talked about eating all the time. She was nice, and Shale was becoming a little less shy around her and her father. He looked up to Cable. "I eat anytin you find. I no mind." He made a smile to the bigger Pae

Eudora practically bounced up and down. If Shale wasn't going to decide, she'd be happy to. "Tasty fruits, Daddy! Let's have some tasty fruits!"
Cabel laughed heartily, ruffling Eudora's hair with paternal fondness. "Alright...tasty fruits it is! I'm sure we can find some of those with no problem around here. Shall we go?" He stood, offering a hand to each of the children.

Shale reached up and clung to Cabel's hand with both of his as he slowly and wobbly stood up. He had just began to learn to walk, and he wasn't all that good at it. his vice grip on Cabel's hand was in case his little legs gave out.

Eudora was quick to hop up and take her 'daddy's' hand. She was happy to get moving again as well as excited by the prospect of something tasty to eat.
Cabel smiled at the children, careful to watch Shale in case he stumbled. He took it slow as he started down the path, keeping Shale in mind as he talked. "Well, I think I know where there's an apple tree close to here. Perhaps that peach tree I used to visit when I was younger is still there too."
Eudora's eyes lit up. "Peaches? There are peaches, Daddy? I love peaches!" Grinning broadly, she turned to Shale. "You like peaches? If you haven't had 'em before, you'll have to try one! They're juicy and sweet and I loves 'em!"

Shale shook his head. He'd never heard of any of those names before, but maybe he just wasn't paying attention to when Koorie had fed him. She also generally fed them leaves and roots, something that was easily found and harvested. "I hope so Udora....." He smiled to her a little.

"You'll like 'em, Shale!" Eudora insisted, happily skipping along beside the two males.
Pausing beneath a large tree, Cabel smiled and released Eudora's hand to point upwards. "Here we are!" Up above, bright, red apples dangled from overloaded branches, weighing the limbs down heavily. Reaching up, the Fae grabbed a couple of plump, low-hanging apples and handed one to each of the children before getting one for himself. "Enjoy, you two!"
Eudora was quick to grab the apple in both hands and sink her teeth into the crisp fruit flesh. There was a sharp crunching sound and she giggled, wiping some juice from her chin. "Mmm...these are good ones, Daddy!"

Shale blinked when he was handed the apple and inspected it. He didn't exactly know how to eat it, but watched to see what the other two would do. When Eudora bit into the apple, he looked back down at his, then slowly bit into it.
At first, when it crunched, he stopped, not sure if it was right. Then he tasted the drops of the sweet juice on his tongue and bit all the way through, chewing and swallowing, a large smile on his face. "Yummies!" He then went and took another bite, letting the juices dribble down his face and hands.

"Told ya', Shale!" Eudora smirked victoriously before taking another oversized bite of her apple.
Chuckling at the children's antics, Cabel shook his head slightly. Ah, to be a child again...then again...being an adult had it's good points too. Smirking, he kept a close eye on the kids as he slipped away to another nearby tree. Variety was good for children's diets, even if it was all fruit. The trees were blessed by the Guardians this year, it seemed, as their limbs were heavy with ripe fruit wherever one looked. It wasn't long before he returned and sat down with an armload of fruits to share with the children, ranging from apples to pears to peaches. "There's plenty to be had here, kids, so dig in! We'll take whatever's left with us."

Shale giggled when he finished with the apple and reached for a peach, taking another big bite. This fruit was different, however, it was softer and tasted different, though just as sweet as the apple. He let out a squeal of delight when the juices dribbled all over him from this fruit, mixing with those from the apple.

Eudora giggled, finishing the apple and immediately grabbing a pear and a peach for herself. Of course, then she faced the problem of being unable to decide which one to eat first.
Cabel laughed heartily at the children's antics, selecting a peach for himself. Nienna would be sad to find out she'd missed this...he knew she'd be enjoying herself if she were here with them. A day in the forest with two adorable kids, enjoying the fruits of nature? Literally? Well, it didn't get much better than that. "Alright kids, take it easy. You'll make yourselves sick if you eat too fast," he reminded the pair with a smile.
"Yes, Daddy," Eudora replied in a sing-songy voice; a sure sign that she'd heard this enough before that she wasn't paying much attention now. She was more interested in the fruit in her hands anyway. Hmm...pear first, she'd finish with the peach.
