"Is he?" Eyebrows furrowed as he delicately took the drawn picture. Yellowed eyes scanned it much like he had the first picture and his shoulders rose and fell briefly. "He looks like you, a little. Not the expression but...he is delicate. More then what you had once been. Attractive, but not like you had been then."

His other hand gestured blithly before the alien paused. Now, he wasn't the sharpest stone in the pile but Kian wasn't stupid. Why would he look like the other (even if it was just the delicate bone structure and body type) and why would he have that drawn photo of him? The older conversations twirled into his mind as Autsu had mentioned a leader - his all, his purpose - and that he was here due to him.

His punishment.

"Your leader." He finally said, long, red nails drumming gently against Autsus floor. "The one you called your all? This one, here, is the reason why they sent you to this planet." So Kian wasn't tactful. His eyes narrowed, boring into that picture before he almost grumbled, handing the picture back. "I do -not- appear as he does. He is slim. I am short and fat."

His lips twitched again, head tilting up to peer at his friend fully once more. Autsu looked wary to him. On gaurd. What did he expect Kian to do? Yell? Scream? "Apparently, then, you have very high tastes, ally?" A hesitation, then. "Would you tell me what happened?"

Autsu was not unaware of the traits he shared with Narin. Were the picture in color, Kian would have seen more. Their matching eyes. Their dark skin. The pencil sketch, even in hiding these facts, apparently revealed too much. He listened in silence as his friend spoke. No interuptions, no interjections, just cautious watchfulness.

He didn't nod in response to Kian's questions, though until this moment he hadn't really remembered saying those things to his ally. And he didn't argue the simularities that he saw between his friend and his lover.

It was a boldness, a brightness.

He just listened. And when Kian was done speaking, he pulled his wings around himself, and pulled his knees up to his chest. He looked very young then, and very bruised. His fingers worried the ring and the chain around his neck. His voice was so forcefully controlled that it shook with the effort.

"No. He had low tastes." This he said, as he remembered Narin's restless pacing, his prince's anger at his initial resistance.

'I am trying to seduce you.' Hissed in irritation, by his bold proud prince.

"I... we were... it was not permitted. The castes were not to mix. He was the prince, the next leader of our people. Like a god to them. They would have died for him. Me too.

"You're not supposed to touch things like that. Not if you're just a Di' guard. I made him dirty. I shamed him."

For all his rejections, then and now, of the beliefs of his people, they ran deep. Somewhere in him, there was self loathing not only for being caught, but for daring in the first place. Daring to love someone so high above him. Maybe that's why Narin hadn't turned. Hadn't even tried to stop them.

"That is stupid."

His voice, usually so mellow and monotone, had a near ruthless anger seething in it in that single sentence. His tail lashed and Kian shifted foreward, n his hands and knees, his eyes narrowed and hard on his friend.

"You are not low. I do not care if that was the status on your home planet, you are NOT low and you - as Autsu or the scaley red man - never have been. If you, or he, believed that having actual EMOTIONS made either of you dirty, you are both stupid. If you shamed him, then he is an idiot.

"So it was not permitted and was a crime. That I accept. You were two males and he had a status that required an obligation to persons other then himself. But I do NOT accept that you are a stupid man, Tsu. You are a GOOD person, despite what you may think of yourself, and anyone you deem worthy of your attention and emotions should be <********> proud of that fact or they, too, are damned idiots. And I would say it to their faces."

This was almost Korshan talking to the wounded boy. The anger, the insistance, that was Korshan, bt the emotion behind it all was something Korshan couldn't comprehend. The emotion and the desire to help Autsu was purely Kian. And it was Kian who moved nearer to his friend, still on hands and knees, and leaned closer to wrap his arms tight around him.

Autsu was pulled into a rough hug, whether or not the b*****d wanted it.

He WOULD be comforted.
PostPosted: Mon Jun 18, 2007 10:56 pm

He heard the words. Or at least he heard the voice behind the words, the anger there. And that, at least, was comforting. It validated his own anger, gave voice to things that he sometimes had difficult thinking. Because he loved Narin, and had loved his country. It was hard to be angry, with the love still so strong.

But the words themselves did not penitrate deeply. He could not, or would not, allow Kian's thoughts to change his perspective on a life he'd lived on a wrong that may or may not have been wrong. He was too unsure himself to allow anothers thoughts to penitrate. It was just one more level in the confusion.

And he couldn't speak. He simply leaned into Kian's arms, with no thoughts of sex or desire. His tactic at least, had worked. Want was, for the moment, the furthest thing from his mind.

"Kian."

He managed the name, but no more. He didn't know what else to say.

Kian shifted closer to his friend, adjusting his body so he was seated once again. This time, however, he still had his arms around the others frame, pulling him closer. The alien pressed his nose against Autsus pale hair, his own thick tail wrapping around Autsus frame.

"You don't believe me," His voice was a mumble, quiet against the other in respect for their close state, "You are very silly, despite it all, Tsu."

The anger had faded as abruptly as it had come, keeping his friend close in the embrace, very near wrapped around him. He had no strong love to fall back on in his anger, as Autsu did, but he had his own sense of self as well.

He wouldn't apologize for anything he said. Autsu would believe him. He would, one day. At the moment, all he cared about was keeping him close, trying to keep him... unbroken, somehow.

Or repair what he broke.

"I used to be pale, deathly white. Tall and thin and white. With big ears. I think I would have liked to be red as your photo showed." He fell silent, one more. Other words danced through his head but...for once, wisely, Kian kept his mouth shut.
PostPosted: Tue Jun 19, 2007 10:21 pm

Autsu was lost, half caught in Esuth, in the past he couldn't even bring himself walk away from. Though keeping that past close to him hurt all the more. Maybe the pain kept his path clear before him. Maybe he just didn't know how to give up the love that went with it.

He found himself wanting to explain it to Kian, to show his ally the love that made the pain so poinent, but the words weren't there. He'd spoken them once, in dark palace gardens, whispered them in Narin's ear. But this language did not have words for the fierce, forbidden heat of that love, had only stumbling phrases he did not think emotion shy Kian could understand. He had loved with a warriors heart, and the words that he'd learned here were too weak.

"I can not walk past it, Anne." He was quiet now, and his voice no longer shook. It was low and rough with pain, showing the first hints of he might sound as an adult. "I am grateful for this world. I am grateful for you."

His fingers fluttered upward, brushing lightly against Kian's arm.

"But in my mind, I am still as the picture you saw." Brief silence, and the sound of his unsteady breaths. "Are you still death white, when you see yourself?

"So dark now, the both of us."

"I do not like being so dark. Even the hair... At least you have different colored hair, my friend." Kian was trying to keep himself from becoming too serious. Autsu was hurting much now and anything else to increase that pain was bad in Kians mind. So he talked, his voice back to the mellow monotone is often was, one arm wrapped around his friend rising to stroke at that different colored hair.

"I am not white when I see myself now, however. I... My body.. It was the same. Everyone looked almost the same, save for facial features. Cheeks. Lips. Eye shape." His fingers brushed against Autsus cheekbone, over his jawline and then back to his hair as he spoke, the dark boys tone getting more distant as he remembered. "When I see my former body in my head, I see an entire race. The race that decided I was dangerous and not worth the effort to care for like many others."

He sighed, cheek pressing against the upset boys head gently. "...I am not a twin to a million anymore. I do like that. I am not the same, not the worthless. It is good, to be different. I am grateful for you as well, Autsu. If nothing else, being shunned has allowed me to at least meet you."

It was the hair petting that did it. Somehow, that comfortable touch was enough to bring Autsu back to himself. Kian was holding him lightly, and stroking his hair. This was not okay. This was very, very weird.

But Kian was sharing, speaking softly. And he had been patient, been supportive, through Autsu's lost wandering. The winged one was not going to cut his friend off by interupting or pulling away. He too, could be a good friend, when he tried to be. Even if he struggled sometimes, against himself. Kian too, could ache with memories.

"You are twin to no one and **** to me." He let his language slip there, still close to Esuth, to his true nature. In his true language, he sounded like a snake speaking Russian. In his true language, he could use a word that meant trust and leadership and strength given and received. "And we, we are not worthless. We will help the others, and find the lost."

He allowed himself to be silent, finding his path once again as he spoke of duty.

"You are important, Anne.

"To me."

"Is that your language?" Kians voice was mild, his tail limp against his friend as they were mildly curled up. "I like it. Although it sounds very hard to speak, with a humanoid throat here."

He was quiet for a long moment, fingers continuing to stroke the light locks. This time, it was more to comfort himself then the other. Autsu was getting better but Kian had lost himself temporarily into the memories of his own pat. His life hadn't been bad there. It had been pressured and then it had been rough, but he never had lack of those who wished to make sure he was cared for. Later, he cared for them.

Kians arms tighten just a bit at Autsus words, fingers curling in a manner that was almost rough against the other boys clothing. Even when unknowing, he was careful of his nails. it would be bad, to scour his friend with his nails.

"Important." He murmured, shifting slightly against his friend. "I do not think I am... enough to be important to you." A hesitation. To thank him? How do you thank someone for thinking you are important to them? "You are important to me as well, friend. You. You are the most important. All will be well, you will see."

And unlike his players ponderings on whether or not he would release Autsu, Kians hands let go of the delicate child, shifting to the side and away just briefly. His tail, however, remained on Autsu, shifting to wrap around his waist - it was long enough, now. "I know you do not like me being so very close. I am.. I will try not to latch on often. Yes?"

"Yes, it is not suited to this form. Little is." The last was bitter, said with irritation. He was still not fond of his form. It was unlikely that he'd ever become so. Sad, because he'd loved a form so like this one. But that, worn by another. It suited him less well.

It was a relief, when Kian moved away from him, and there was no hiding the slight relaxation of his muscles when the other gave him space. It was not intention, it was not wanted. But there was too much want for him to accept the others proximity easily. And too much tangled in the ideas of want for him to persue those desires.

Still, he met his friends triple gaze with his own level stare. "I am sorry." He replied, and there was undisguised sincerity in his voice. He was sorry, about many things. "I am not accustom to being touched. It confuses me."

An admission of weakness? Not really. Just the best explination he could give for his actions.

"Tell me of your woods, ally. I have never hunted. I have dwelled in castles, on battle fields. And here."

"My home?" Kian kept quiet at the others apology. It was alright. Just a reminder that clinging like ayoungling was no longer acceptable. No one wanted to feel his weakness. Either way, Autsu had asked him about his forests. His Home. "I do not see how a lack of hunting in them is possible, Tsu.. The are..."

And here, Kian smiled. While the second time that day, it was a smaller smile, warmer and fonder then the one he had given Autsus photos. It was the smile of a man in love when speaking of the owner of it's heart. It shined, despite his mellow voice.

"They are everything. Everywhere. The-" A stumble, "The High above, the Domes, even the base of the pillars was forest. Vast. Trees covered every part of our planet that I could see. The trees were varying shades of gray, though. Not like the color their is here. The animals, even, were whites, blacks and grays. The only way to see color was if you made someone bleed. The creatures lived there."

Oh, the creatures. They didn't have names - they were a unit, not simply one. Korshan had been an individual, though. He had a name and he had four limbs to their eight, pale skin to their dark. His ancestors were these creatures before genetic engineering of their high-sighted ancestors. They had taken him in and raised him in those colorless woods.

"It rained, often. I enjoyed the rain as Korshan. It was easier to hunt that way. The animals stopped moving. We used spears and slings, made of cloth. Simple hunting."
PostPosted: Mon Jun 25, 2007 7:19 pm

Well, that had worked better than expected. He had hoped to divert the other's attention, but had not realized that the other might get lost in the memory of what he spoke of. Kian was smiling, a rare event, and so Autsu listened, trying to understand this thing that could make his friend smile.

It was difficult to understand such passion for location When he had dedicated himself, it had been to people, either individually or as a country. Mostly individuals. He did not think well, in abstracts. It was what had made him a good guard, but occasionally a poor soldier. It had been hard for him to kill for the country. Killing for Narin had been simple.

But Kian was speaking, and Autsu was trying to listen. Trying to picture his friend as described, in the place described, and finding it difficult. Kian was as he was here. Strong, intelligent, attractive and self assured.

What might they have thought of him, among his own people? Or would they have thought anything, if everyone was twin?

"And these forests, Gaian forests, would you find your way in them, as you could back home? Would you teach me to hunt as you could?

"It would be well for me to be able to feed myself."

They thought nothing of all of Korshan. He was a perfectly normal boy in a perfectly normal family unit. Yes, he had a bit of a temper but that was altered with a few 'vitamins' each morning. It was only when the fear of being cut and physically altered shot through his mind and he escaped the Domes only to reign down a revolution years later did they think of him as anything but that sweet, if volatile child.

"I can move through them, although not as well. I am learning, still. The area behind our dwelling, there is forest, and I wander for as long as I can. As for hunting.." Kians lips twitch slightly. "I need to fashion a sling. I could teach you. We had hands as you and I do - four digits with an imposable thumb." He wriggled them, as if to prove to Autsu that he was correct, his red nails glinting briefly.

"Would it do well? Does your parental not feed you...? He did not seem the type to deny food."
PostPosted: Tue Jun 26, 2007 9:31 pm

"You are many skilled my friend." Autsu murmured, the compliment given with a mildness that indicated sincerity, not flattery. He was feeling, after his emotional outburst, surprisingly mellow. Even Kian's tail was not disturbing him over much, now that the boy had given him a little space. Too much of the past still lingered. "Me, I only fight. I do not hunt, or navigate the woods."

Almost, he laughed, at Anne's other statement, the suggestion that he might not be fed well enough. Almost. But he felt too worn, thin and streached like old cotton. The suggestion of amusement entered his voice, but he didn't crack a smile.

"I am fed, there is no neglect here." As had happened before, when Autsu was sufficently calm, his fingers found Kian, running with absent lightness over his tail. "But--"

He hesitated. "Nothing can be relied on."

While Kians two main eyes stayed open, his third slid shut for a brief moment at the petting. It felt good. Lately, his tail had become something of a comfort to the boy - it felt good when it was petted or massaged. Like a back rub. That would make sense... It was an extension of his spine, after all. He wasn't about to tell the other to stop.

"I had to fight and hunt and navigate. Otherwise, I was not much of a use to the Creatures," He mused, keeping his voice rather quiet and relaxed. Autsus words brought pause to him, lips twitching just slightly.

"Then tomorrow, before my parental arrives, I shall show you. But tonight was not made for teaching the art of death in the forest. Tonight was made for..." He tapered off, blinking slightly. "Well, I do not know. Showing you how to make your own?"
