Crystal raised her eyebrows, pleasantly surprised by Kyoko's request. She looked over her shoulder towards her mother, who nodded with a smile and a wink. Looking back to the green-haired girl, she smiled brightly. "I can take a break! I'd love to go get something to eat; I'm a bit hungry," she admitted with a sheepish smile. All those emotions compacted into a handful of heart beats just minutes ago had left her feeling as though she'd run a marathon.

She unbuckled the apron behind her neck, laying it on the counter; she then leaned over the counter, retreiving a thick silk ribbon used to tie around the larger vases. Crystal wrapped the precious trinket that had been held so diligently in her hand within the silky folds, doing as any normal lady would do and tucking it somewhere in the confines of her bosom. Keeping it close to heart would be the cliched term.

The flower girl then all but bounded over to Kyoko, her curled hair bouncing around her shoulders. "Thank you for the invitation, Kyoko. Did you have somewhere in mind?"

Kyoko chuckled. "It's no problem. I saw a couple of places on my way here. One looked like it specialized in light fare, like salads and such, the other looked like a pasta place. Both had the most delicious smells coming from them and outdoor seating." The green-haired girl adored good food of any sort. Then again...that was bound to happen with a father who aspired to own his own restaurant someday. "I'm good with either, to be honest."

Despite her small and delicate frame, Crystal was known to enjoy a good meal; she was not the type to go out and eat salad leaves and pretend it was filling. "Pasta sounds perfect," she offered, stomach threatening to growl in agreement. The young woman started out of the store, her dress briefly billowing in the soft breeze between the door and the patio before she turned and rocked on her heels, offering a bright smile to Kyoko.

The flower girl was full of strange energy that she didn't know she had. The only time she'd been so full of vigor was when she'd been painting after the first night with Qadir, although she'd never admit that it was the subject of the art and not the art itself that put her into such a thrill. Crystal decided that spending time with another woman, one as intruiging and unique as Kyoko, would be good for her. "Shall we?"

Kyoko nodded and caught up with Crystal. "Yes! Let's!" From the patio, she led the way, enjoying the nice day outside. And the company. Crystal was a very interesting person...Then again, Kyoko found that most people who knew and loved their work were. There was something about a good professional that just made them a better person to be around. By the time they reached the pasta place, Kyoko's own stomach was protesting not being filled.

"Heh...You wanna eat inside or outside?"

"Outside, if you don't mind. It's so nice out!" Crystal wasn't usually so decisive, but the day was beautiful, perfect in temperature until the summer heat came. She'd absorb as much of the spring time as she could until then. "And-" her words were cut off by an unceremonious gurgle from her stomach, "it, ah, smells delicious." A sheepish grin spread over her blushing cheeks as she placed her hands over her stomach in an attempt to stem the protesting organ. At least it didn't happen while she was at work; she'd never get over the fit of giggles that would surely ensue.

She waited for Kyoko to lead the way, much to her stomach's dismay.

Kyoko chuckled and quickly went over to the hostess of the establishment, requesting a table outside. The woman happily obliged (seemingly anyway...you never know with hostesses), and led the two girls to one of the smaller tables that wasn't yet occupied outside. Once the two girls were settled, the hostess left them with their menus and let the waitresses in charge of that section know that she had more people to look after.
Kyoko quickly skimmed over the menu, immediately cringing. So many yummy-sounding choices...and not enough room in her stomach for all of them. "Yup...this is a good place. Nearly everything looks yummy!"

Crystal's stomach growled in agreement with Kyoko. The woman took her seat, deft fingers flipping through the menu until she found what she was looking for. "It sure does! Makes me glad I have a favored dish." She grinned a little, leaning back in the chair to enjoy the warm air a delicate breeze. While she liked to try new things, her stomach was complaining so venemously she decided it was best to stick to the familiar and well liked.

The woman stretched her arms grandly before crossing them on the table, dangling her hands over her elbows. "May I ask what you do for a living, Kyoko? I can only imagine that you are an artist of some sort; any other job seems quite pale to your zest." Crystal grinned, tilting her head curiously at the happy-go-lucky woman next to her.

Kyoko decided to go with the 'point-to-a-random-dish' method of choosing. With her food now in mind, she sat back and waved at the waitress, letting the woman know that they were ready. She blinked at Crystal's question. "Uhm....I actually don't work. 'Tou-chan won't let me until I finish high school. Says I need to focus on school. But every now and then, I manage to snag a role with the festival dance troupes." She grinned and made a semi-pose in her seat, chin up and hand to her heart.

"For I...am a dancer by nature." She sniggered and sat normally once again. "I love dancing. I even plan to go to college for it!" The waitress had finally made her way over to the table, notepad in hand.

"What can I get for you girls?" Kyoko held up her menu for the waitress to take. "The four cheese ravioli in Alfredo sauce with a glass of iced tea please." The waitress nodded and looked to Crystal.

Crystal laughed delightedly and clapped her hands in a dainty manner when Kyoko mentioned dancing. "I'm sure you will dazzle everyone who comes to see you. Oh, you must let me know when you get a part. I'd love to come see you!" What? Did she just imply that she'd made her first real friend outside of work, other than Irene (who she couldn't tell from a day to day basis anyway)?

"Fettucini alfredo, please, with water to drink." She inclined her head to the waitress with soft words of thanks while handing over her menu. The woman then turned her glittering gaze back to Kyoko, absolutely charmed. "I adore dancing. I'm afraid all I know is ballroom, and I'm not entirely sure that's the type you're talking about." The edge of her lips curved into a wry smile, her curls cascading over her shoulder as she tilted her head curiously.

"Your drinks will be right out." The waitress took the menus and orders in, leaving the two girls to chat. "Really? I'll let you know! I'm looking forward to the end of school this year. It's my last year and I can fully enjoy the summer festivals and such!" Her grin was wide. "It's nice to know I've got someone other than my family wanting to come watch me."

At the mention of ballroom dancing, she blushed a bit. "I...actually added that form to my repertoire recently. And I learned it because of the Masquerade. But...I know a lot of other types of dance! I've been learning since I was small, and I've at least dabbled in every form I can get my hands on."

Crystal laughed again, spreading her hands in an apologetic manner. "My parents are very old fashioned, still swayed by the idea of titles and class. The rest of the world has moved on, but they still deem some things necessary to play to the roles devised for us." She dropped her hands in her lap, still smiling; she had danced recently under the moonlight, and none of her training had prepared her for it. It was the best dance she'd ever partaken in.

"I can't wait for the festivals to start! All the new and imported goods, and the people who sell them...it's like going to a far away place without leaving home." Her stormy gaze softened, momentarily losing focus, perhaps seeing the aforementioned far away place. "It's good for business, too. The whole town does good by it."

Kyoko shrugged. "No problem. To say my family was a little...unconventional is an understatement. I don't really mind old-fashioned...as long as they know how to have a good time and take joke." Her grin had toned down into a smile. "And your mother seemed really nice. Like what a Mom is supposed to be." She thanked the waitress as she showed up and left their drinks in front of their drinkers-to-be.

"I adore the festivals as well! It's like you say...going to a foreign country without actually leaving the city. I love some of the clothes and music people bring with them. And I always get to try a food I haven't had before!" She leaned back in her seat a bit. "It is a good thing for everyone. Everyone gets time to just sit back and relax!"

The young woman started to laugh at the mother comment, shaking her head with mirth. "My mother reminds me of a woman who chooses to live her youth every day of her life. Like a rebel against sophistication." Her mind turned to Rose's suggestive banter with Qadir, and she could only smile. "She's a character, and I'd have her no other way."

Crystal grinned over at Kyoko, as if the greatest idea had just occured to her. "We should go together, then, to the festivals when they start!" She couldn't offer a good reason, other than she liked the girl's company and wanted another chance to speak with her. "I've always had fun, even by myself. I'm sure the two of us could find some entertainment." She giggled a little, imagining the fun that could be had when sharing one's time. It was still a new and strange concept to her.

Kyoko nodded. "Yeah...My Tou-chan is like that too. He's weird, but I love him anyways." She chuckled at the thought of Gekkou protesting Anbu's habit of calling him 'Gramps'. "He's often like a teenager who didn't want to grow up." She took a sip of her iced tea, glad that it was a good balance of sweet and bitter.

She nodded happily at the suggestion. "I'd love that! It's always fun to go with someone else!" Unlike Crystal, Kyoko was used to being around people. In fact, she had trouble remembering a time when she didn't have someone she could go to and just walk around with. "It's like...It's like sharing your life for those moments you're together, making something bigger than each other alone, no matter how trivial the activity may seem."

"Very nicely said," Crystal exclaimed, a little surprised by the explanation. It was true, the memories shared were the ones that stayed with you. Things she did by herself weren't exactly note worthy, but she could recall with fondness the times shared with her family, her friends from school, and more recently, Qadir. "It's a date, then!" The flower girl laughed with glee; Kyoko might as well have asked her on one, for all the joy she felt of sharing one of her favorite times with someone else.

A smile playing over her features, Crystal tilted her head, inquiring, "Tou-chan? Is that a boyfriend? Oh! Would he be interested in coming with us, you think?" Thinking about Qadir had made her want him to come, too, although the festival was long enough that she could sneak out one night with just the two of them; her mind insisted a group would be better, although she wasn't sure she was listening.
