Kafiri did not mind being tuned out, especially when her brother was putting so much time and thought into something just for her. Being tuned out was better than being picked on, so even if they weren't decorating her little hideout she would have preferred it to the alternative. She watched silently as he finished his gardening and seemed content with the flowers that were already there. Maybe they wouldn't need to worry about whether or not there were anymore of the white and pink flowers.
"I agree," she murmured with a nod. As a cub herself, and one who'd never criticize something made by a family member (each for their own reasons) she saw it as work very well done. It would be a fine place to come whenever she wanted to be on her own.

Mezi scootched himself closer to his sister to get a better view of her new hide away. He nodded his approval, proud of the work they had done. Hopefully, Mommy dearest wouldn't come along and ruin it for Kafiri. That would just suck. The had put quite a bit of work into this little den, and the idea was that the adult wouldn't bother her youngest daughter. Luckily, Mezi had yet to run into his mother near the stream. He was sure she went by here occasionally, seeing as it was the local source of fresh water. As long as she didn't go into detective mode and look specificlly for a den that a smll cub could fit in, though, he figured the hide away would remain hidden.
"Well, I'm glad you like it." He nodded again. When they were a bit older, they could work on it again and make it larger for her to fit into. Or, by then, they might even be able to climb, and she could just migrate to the branches of the tree as opposed to the roots. He wouldn't mind having a tree around this area. With all of the flowers, there was a real nice view. Plus, the water so close meant that he'd never have to go far to get a drink. Always a plus.

Kafiri was content to sit where she was for now, admiring their work and knowing she had somewhere nice to go whenever she wanted to. She didn't think about how long it would be before she outgrew it, or what alternative options she would have by that time, or even how long it would be before mother or her other siblings found out about it. No, she was happy with it now and that was her focus for the time being.
"Thank you for the help," she murmured again, glancing over at Mezi, "I'm sorry you got so dirty.."

Mezi took a glance at his side, where some of the dirt still clung stubbornly to his white spots. It was deffinately not a hilight of the day. It would take a while of grooming to get his coat back to the condition he'd like it in. However, it had been a trade off. He had sacraficed his cleanliness for a short while to help out his sister, who he was growing increasingly fond of. So, in the long run, it would be okay. He shrugged a little and looked at Kafiri. "It's okay... I'll groom it all out later." Of course, next time he planned to dig a den, he'd take into consideration the soil factor. For now, though, it wasn't such a big deal. Without even thinking about it, he licked at one of his front paws, attempting to rid it of the Jungle earth. "And no problem, by the way. Glad to help." He pulled his gaze from his fur to his sister with that same pleasant look on his face.

Kafiri smiled inwardly when Mezi simply brushed off the fact that his fur was so dirty, it seemed a family trait to put some care into fur-care. It was good that the dirt hadn't ruined their fun in the end, because that wouldn't have been a good way to finish their afternoon. She fought back a yawn as she realized how long they'd spent out here, considering how far they'd gone and how much time it had taken to get everything together.
"We've been gone a while now, do you think mother'd be in any better a mood?" she asked quietly, glancing from Mezi back in the direction of their home.

Mezi hadn't noticed how long the pair had been gone until Kafiri brought it up. He looked at the sky, or rather the canopy of leaves. The small shafts of light that peaked through the green were growing dimmer. Well, they really had been out here a while. "She might be a bit better, though I doubt she's cheery." Mleli was, of course, not the cheery type. Since her little ones had all probablly scattered when she grew angry, she might've had time to cool off at least a tad by now, though. Or at least, that's what they could hope.
Standing, the cub took one last sweeping look at the hide away they had made, and then turned towards his sister. "She might get worse if we don't start heading back soon, though." Deep down, the leopardess was a mother, and Mezi knew that there was some caring nature under all of that moodiness. Any mother would be miffed if their babies went missing.

Kafiri almost had to laugh at the idea of mother being cheery, it just wouldn't happen as far as she could tell. Then again, Kafiri herself hadn't expected to have such fun and be so happy herself. Her den would always remind her of Mezi, and being happy, so hopefully it would help her cheer up on days she came here.
He had a point when he said she'd get worse if they weren't home at a reasonable time, though. She nodded to show her agreement, and turned herself around to head in the direction of home.
"We better go then," she sighed.

Mezi nodded his agreement and started padding away from the stream. Some day, that place might be his sanctuary. With all of the flowers around, it was deffinatley easy on the eyes. Now that his sister had a little hide away there, he might even have some enjoyable company. Those were two words that the cub rarely put together. He was more of a loner than a social butterfly, as many leopards were, and he seemed to swing more to his mother's species than his father's when it came to state of mind. Either way, it was a bit odd for him to like the idea of any kind of company, besides a few meetings with full leopards. Kafiri was a family member he seemed to get along with, though. She was sweet, but not overly so like Aunt Ajali. He kind of liked it. All of that could be thought about later, though. For now, he had to focus on getting home as innocently as possible to stay on mom's good side.

Kafiri nodded in response to Mezi's agreement, and allowed him to take the lead on their walk home. Her main focus was on getting home, and her hopes were high that their mother would at least be more apathetic than irritable as eariler in the day. Without a glance back, she followed after Mezi.
