Nahanni looked up as Ayako talked about her practice. Yes, the sister seemed well suited for Defense Against the Dark Arts. She was abit surprised though to hear she was already trying Patronus. Wasn't that of upper-level skill? She put a finger to her lip. "That....shouldn't be to hard for you. Just think of mother...that should work." Anyone in the family knew of the close bond between Ayako and Nari. Nahanni blinked in thought. What would be their Patronus. She chuckled to herself. She'd probably be a mouse, but hopefully not.

A smile lit up the kit's face as Nari was mentioned. Golden wings fluttered slightly in happiness and Ayako murmured. "Yeah, perhaps." She should try it again someday, though she was a little lazy (she admitted grudgingly to herself) to try it out. And anyway, she didn't want to seem like a showoff in front of her sister.

"See?" Ayako's smile made Nahanni herself show a faint twitch of the lips. She curled her tails around herself. "So...what do you think your Patronus is?

Ayako tilted her head, turquoise eyes brightening at the possibilities. "Well, I don't know. I hope it's an eagle, or maybe a leopard." She admired both the hunters, the eagle as it swooped down on it's prey and the prowling and graceful leaps of the leopard.
"What do you think yours will be?"

Nahanni nodded, seeing Ayako having both those qualities. A brow raised as she pondered her own possibilities. "Maybe just a rabbit....since they are timid. Or a dove...." She gave a shy smile at the thoughts.

Ayako smiled. "Whatever it is, it will still be powerful." Her three tails waved slightly in the air as she thought of her other siblings. Yawning, she lifted a paw to stifle it and cast an apologetic gaze towards Nahanni.

Powerful? Nahanni shrugged, not to interested in strength. She blinked as Ayako yawned and tried to resist repeating the action. "Hey sister.....you know how you study Defense against Dark Arts?" Her tails flickered nervously and eagerly at the same time. "I think...I found a subject I wanna succeed at too....."

"Well, it is supposed to be a protector charm against Dementors." Ayako reminded her, laying her head down. "Hmm?" She looked up, then sat up straighter, wanting to be polite. "Really? What is it?"

"No, I'm all right." Ayako assured her with a flick of her ears. Legilimency, yes, she had read about it before. It reminded her vaguely of something...."Mother's an empath." She murmured, not really telling Nahanni, but herself, the thought striking a memory. She shook her head, eyes snapping out of staring into blank space and focused on her sister. "Have you read up much on it? I don't know if you need a Legilimens to teach you though..." Not that she knew of any, of course.

That was true, that mother had a touch with emotions. Empath. Was that the same as Legilimency? She turned to her sister, but raised a brow as the other seemed to be daydreaming. She kept her mouth shut though, and simply nodded. "Bits and pieces. I'm...not sure if I'll need a tutor though." She hadn't really tried the spell, just researched it.

The reason why Ayako seemed to be daydreaming was that she was thinking. About whether she had inherited their mother's powers, empath, healing, just to name a few. Maybe that was why she could feel Katsumi's annoyance of being with the family, and therefore, her dislike of her sister's impoliteness. Maybe, just maybe.
"You could ask Dad." Ayako said simply. He was, in his past life, a teacher from a magical school. Then she grinned. "I guess if you do master Legilimency, I'll have to learn Occlumency to make sure you don't pry into my thoughts."

Nahanni nodded, knowing that was probably her only option. Sure she could ask her older siblings for help learning, but father would know it much better. She blinked at Ayako's statement before giggling light-heartedly. "No need to worry there. It takes eye contact for it to work, and we both know how I am about that." She leaned back in the chair while gazing out the large windows. "Besides....I don't want to be a nuisance with it." As much as she liked this magic and its potential, she disliked the idea that she would intrude on others.

Nahanni flicked an ear nervously. "I...suppose." She was nervous enough just being in the same room as her parents. She felt...disconnected by their overwhelming bond. Let alone to ask one to help her practice. Would she...disappoint them?
