Tala blew one of his bangs away from his face. More people were starting to enter the room, yet still no sign of the teacher. "That's weird... The class is still pretty empty and the instructor hadn't even shown up yet. Heh, maybe we'll be let out earlier. That'd be nice..." Kai spoke back, for once. So Tala replied, "Hm. So, what've you been up to?" The Russian glanced out the window for a moment. There was a blue jay sitting on a branch right in front of the window. It hopped around on the branch a couple of times then flew off when the wind blew by. Once the bird was out of sight, Tala looked back at Kai waiting for him to say something.

Kai shrugged. "Not much, actually. Besides, you know I don't have much of a social life. Not that I want to have one, mind you..." Was it obvious that he and Tala weren't natural conversationists? Pretty much.
The brunette was still sketching... the other brunette had dropped her book... a maroon-haired girl was studying her notes... and he and Tala were 'chatting'.
How much more boring can this get?

Kana signed really bored in her seat. Playing around with her black long hair braided hair, she heard a familiar voice again, "How about studying again? Aim for a higher score this time."
It was Hayabusa she recognized. Pulling out her blade she answered, "Wait for more people, besides I already studied it. "

Kai was never to chatty. What could Tala expect? He half wished Bryan or Spencer were there as well. Heh, you'd picture a classroom as noisy... But this one... it's too quiet... The Russian didn't even wait for Kai to ask 'and you?'. He knew Kai wouldn't bother asking back. So Tala just told him. "Heheh. Well, I just moved last month so I've been unpacking like mad..." The red-haired teen wasn't quite sure what else to say.

Kokoro was grudgingly studing her notes, much to the happiness of Kyohaku and Kumori. "Oh shut up you two." She growled to Kyohaku and Kumori who were cackling on about something. "Nya." her bitbeast cried, sticking out her tounge. Kokoro sighed, shook her head and went back to her notes.

Sighing, Kei put down her pencil and examined her work. It was a simple sketch of the two boys at the back - the slate-haired teen and the redhead.
It doesn't look like them... she decided, closing the sketchpad in frustration. All her portraits came out the same: total failures. Dejectedly, she put the sketchpad back in her bag and took out her notebook. Might as well review a bit for the test...
"You moved, huh...?" Kai muttered, nodding absently. He didn't mean to be rude, but conversation was never really his strong point. He preferred to observe others, and offer advice if need be. But in this situation, who had need of advice? The students studying for the test?
Yeah, right.
He wished the teacher would arrive soon and get the test over and done with. Then they could move on to the next boring subject until they were dismissed for the day.

Drat... Apparantly, Kai wanted to talk as little as possible to the Russian. Tala didn't take that to offense. Hiwatari hardly ever wanted to talk to anyone. Reaching into his bag, he pulled out a textbook. Might as well study while the teacher is still absent... In a matter of minutes, the red-haired teen had scanned through all of the chapter. Could this stuff get anymore boring? With a thud, he slid his book back in his bag.

'Was the teacher absent?'Kana asked herself.
Then she suddenly remembered something a classroom report was due in a week. She looked at her back to the 2 guys who sat with each other then thought that one of them was her group mate but she remember who. She panicked thinking who it might be as both of them scared her. She tried to stand up to ask but her legs failed her and she fell back to her seat.
Kana gave a big sign to herself hating herself bit by bit. She didn't want another average mark. She has to remind her members and ask what she should do at the same time reminding them that she cannot speak at all in front of the whole class.
It then struck her that she had another member. The girl who was sketching.
"Ask her it should be easier with her, but you shouldn't be afraid of people. Try to speech in front of people" Hayabusa said.
"I'll just ruin it for everyone again and freeze." Kana answered as she stood up more easily but slowly and nervously approached the girl.
"Ummm ummm " Kana tried to say
"Are you my group mate for the science report next week?"She asked nerviously.

'Nothing?' Kana thought.
Kana got a little pissed. Knowing herself she tried to calm herself and sat back at her seat and took a nap.

It took quite a while for Kei to realize that someone was talking to her. But by the time she turned to acknowledge that someone - the girl with braided black hair - she'd gone back to her desk and was apparently settling down for a nap before class started.
Oops... Kei thought sheepishly, snapping her notebook closed. That was the problem with her: whenever she was caught up in something, it was hard to distract her. She was aware of her surroundings - evidenced by the many times she went down the stairs reading a book yet never tripping - but was totally deaf to anyone who tried to talk to her while she was doing whatever she happened to be doing at that point.
Now what was that she asked? the brunette wondered. Oh, yeah, that science thing! Reaching into her bag, Kei took out a pale blue notebook and started flipping through it until she came to the page she was looking for: the page where she'd made a list of her groupmates in the various subjects that had group reports due. Running her finger down the list for 'Science', she stopped at the name 'Kanazawa Kana'. Kei glanced at the apparently napping girl. She was Kana, right.
I'll get back to her later; wouldn't want to disturb her right now...

The teacher finally came with a large bundle of paper. Kana then woke up and immediately removed all of her stuff aside from her pen.
By the look of the papers Kana thought,'Is this really a quiz we're having?'
Soon her other classmates then came. The paper was passed.
' Enumeration, objective ,and essay. I forgot some of these again.' Kana thought as she answered it.

Tala leaned back in his chair, hands behind his head. Bored, he let out a long yawn. The teacher had finally showed up, but it hadn't seem that class has started. This could not be anymore pointless! Oi!

Oh, goody; a test. Kai rolled his eyes. How utterly boring. He took one glance at the paper and knew instantly that he could afford to slack off for a bit; the questions were pretty simple.
One glance out of the corner of his eye told him that he wasn't the only one who was bored; Tala was as well. The redhead even had his hands clasped behind his head.
The slate-haired teen re-thought his decision to slack off, then changed his mind. Better to finish the (insanely easy) test first, then slack off, rather than the other way around.
Kei, meanwhile, was already beginning the essay part, having breezed through the enumeration and objective tests.
Explain why cryostasis is important in treating limbs that have been completely severed from the body... she read. They'd touched a bit on biology and outside factors that could affect such physical processes such as healing. Cryostasis... the brunette thought, tapping her cheek thoughtfully with the eraser end of her pencil. Then the answer hit her - Of course! Keeping carbon-based organisms cold or frozen! - and she bent over to begin writing.
((Heheh... this is high school-level science class, right? I based the question on what I took up in my high school, so... ^^ ))
