"I would like that," Kara smiled, "It has been a long time... I think..." she mused on that before looking at Ulani, "How long has it been? We weren't really sure, though there were a few guesses being thrown about."

That was right, time passed differently, it was a good thing they were elves otherwise Kara thought, it would be a sad thought to not see them anymore. Though it was scary that something big could happen here and they wouldn't know it.

Donovan nodded as he took Kara's arm to follow, though he frowned at the thought of what could have caught them off guard. Six years wasn't overly long, but it was a lot of time missed, the fact they were attacked within those six years, and if Leif was a new addition....

"What attacked you?" he finally asked wondering if it was wild animals or... something else.

Ulani and Ulrich exchanged an uneasy glance, and there was an awkward silence for several moments. Finally, Ulrich answered, "By the time Leif was finished with them, you couldn't even tell what they were, let alone who they might have been. But they were human, and they were skilled."

Ulani moved closer to Ulrich's side. "We didn't feel safe here for a long while after that," she said quietly, opening the door of the house and holding it for Kara and Donovan to go inside first. "And we've been discouraging visitors since then."

"Not that it matters," Ulrich added. "We've still got a few visitors, even right now, up the mountain with Amara and her family. Staying here, but visiting them for the day."

Kara moved closed to Donovan trying to feel around, she wondered if they were still in that danger? It didn't seem fair, she thought that people had to be attacked like that.

Though.. it probably wasn't slavers, Kara wasn't much of a fighter now and she wasn't when they were attacked by them as well. So chances were it wasn't them.

"Uhmm...." Kara mused for a moment leaning forward a bit, still holding onto Donovan's arm, 'Water please."

She looked up at Donovan, was he thinking what she thought he was thinking. If she knew Donovan, he was thinking of the most paraiod seniaro possible, which unfortunately might be the case. That itself worried her a great deal. She really hope they weren't bringing more trouble by looking for Serenity.

Ulani disappeared into the kitchen, and Ulrich nodded at Donovan. "Yes ... we'd heard," he affirmed. "Serenity's been living with us on and off, and Gion as well ... he was rather disgusted with the entire family and refuses to go back. He's been traveling the Four Lands ever since, but he comes to stay with us during the winters."

He leaned back and relaxed slightly, and a slow smile crept over his face. "So she's been adopted into your family, eh?" His smile grew wider, warmer. "I'm glad. With all the terrible things that happened to her in her life, she deserves happiness."

He paused. "How ... is she?"

Kara pouted at Donovan, "You only say they're good kids because the girls aren't trouble and you bribe Celebor with sugar to tell you things," she accused her love.

Even though she found it highly amusing because now it had backlashed onto Donovan as being the giver of answers.

"Oh... which reminds me," Kara looked at Ulrich, "You said Gion had been living with you on and off as well? Do you know if he's due to come back here anytime soon? Like really soon?" she asked a bit hopeful.
