"She wouldn't refuse you." Hadrian told Serafima. There was, perhaps, an almost chiding tone to his voice. It was the first time Hadrian had ever done anything close to expressing his concern and occassional disagreement with the way Captain Rabik interacted with her young feien.
He tapped his cup and appeared to be thinking about the whole situation. "Dee has always seemed a little scared to me." He said finally, "And I can understand why she would be worried about the Fleet. Galatea can probably take care of her." He sounded as if, if given Dee and Galatea to compare, he would always have presumed Gala the more capable.

"They'll be fine," Silva said simply. "If an airhead like Marne can survive a quest, Gala will."
"I don't think airhead is a proper term for Marne," Aleric said mildly.
"You're right, she goes past being an airhead," Silva said agreeably.

The faintest of smiles touched Serafima's mouth but she promptly buried it in her tea. After sipping, she set the cup once more on the table and there was no trace of amusement; she was once more under control. "Well, then," she began. "I'll try not to be concerned. I know how strong and intelligent Galatea is. I'm sure she'll return all the better for this trip."

"You should tell her that, when she gets back." Hadrian offered, smiling warmly. Actually hearing Galatea's bond compliment her, even if she wasn't present to hear it, seemed like a good start.

Silva finished his drink, glancing over at his brother for a silent moment before he got to his feet.
"Thank you kindly for the drink," Aleric said politely as he stood as well, giving the captain a slight bow. "But we really should get going now. It was a pleasure talking with both of you," he added with a glance at Hadrian.
"We need to get home," Silva added. "Night football sounds like a damn fun idea to me."

Serafima blinked and then shook her head slightly. Whatever "night football" meant was beyond her and she had no inclination to ask. "Very well. Thank you for keeping your promise to Galatea. I'm sure she would be pleased to know how well you thought of her feelings." She went as if to hold out her hand perfunctorily and then, realizing that there was no possible way the feien could shake it, she drew back and nodded solemnly. "I will tell her when she comes home."

Hadrian blinked at the night football non sequitur. Anything that took place at night sounded like a sport Silva would have an advantage at, no wonder he thought it sounded fun. The fire feien nodded politely Aleric in response to his glance, "Have a good evening."

"This time we're turning the porch light on," Aleric murmered before nodding to them both and taking to the air. In all honesty he wasn't protesting because Silva had behaved himself far longer than he had ever imagined. "Please feel free to contact us if you wish," he added to Seraphima with a smile before they headed out the door.

There was a moment of silence as the two left and then the dark-haired woman turned her attention back towards Hadrian. She lifted one eyebrow, curious that he was still lingering. "Well, then," she began. "Has Galatea asked you to check the pantries as well to be certain I'm eating properly?"
