Shonen Jump in the beginning was great, but then they decided to censor a lot so you would come across problems. I remember you mentioning that you could barely tell what Bandit Keith was saying. Amen. It makes no sense.
Yeah, they've translated it... It appeared in the magazine and my friend lent it to me... Nope, they had his name as Jaden, Zane, whats-his-name *what, Chazz?* and Sirus/Cyrus *can't remember the spelling.* I was so pissed off that I just couldn't read it. I was like "WHAT THE MANK!?"
*sigh* I mean, common... please do it right.

No, I understand the ranting. I agree about Yuugi. Poor little guy *huggles Yuugi plushi only to discover that it is actually a YAMI no Yuugi plushi* ... damn you... you even stole his plushi rights!!! *cries*
No, here's a story about a kid I babysat for a while ago...
I brought him some Yuu*Gi*Ou cards to have because I knew he liked it.. and I did too so I thought 'what the hell'... and his mom noticed them and mentinoed that she had made a Yuugi birthday cake once for him. And me being the Yuugioh freak *twas my nickname at school then* was like 'wait, why would a kid like this little guy have big-eyed Yuugi on his b-day cake??? So I figured it was Yami no Yuugi. "You mean Yami right?"
"..No, Yugi."
"Did he have big happy eyes like these *draws sketch* or evil doom ones like this *draws another sketch*?"
She points to Yami no Yuugi eyes.
"That's Yami."
"No I made a Yuugi cake. I watched the show with him the day before"
...I'm over there wanting to strangle the woman. Like, 'lady, I know what the #*&$ I'm talking about!!!'
So yeah, poor little Yuugi didn't even get recognized. I do feel bad for him.

I know. For the first five or so volumes, Shonen Jump did a pretty decent job! They even put the characters' names in Japanese in the bios. (not roumaji, actual Japanese) The only problem I had at the beginning as that they didn't note that the "Yuu" in "Yuugi" and the "Jou" in "Jounouchi" are heald out for two counts instead of one. XD;; (they put "Yugi" and "Jonouchi" instead...) But then it just seemed to get worse and worse... they've even put Pegasus' dub name instead of his original name a few times. gonk
And... they seriously used the dub names...? *froths at the mouth* *commits suicide*
Oh gosh, poor Yuugi! He's cuter; he should definitely have more plushie rights than Yami no Yuugi! ;_; And that mom... I so wanna slap her...

NO! KITSUNE DON'T DO IT! *grabs Kitsune and prevents her from committing suicide*
Slap? ...More like punch or step on... or something... I don't take arguments very well when I know I'm right... you know. I mean, here's a chick who was wearing a Yuugioh sock/hat... thing... and a shirt, had just brought her son Yuugiou cards, always held coversations with the kid about Yuugioh, never missed it while babysitting, actually dueled with her kid in the living room and was still there when she got home, and even brought over the Yuugioh soundtrack to listen to when she first bought it... And this lady dares to argue with the Yuugiou chick? No. No. NO.
I know, sad right? Poor little Yuugi. Do you like him better in YUU*GI*OU Season Zero, or YUU*GI*OU Duel Monsters?

...and this previous thread made me wonder something... Have you heard any of those ROoms to go commericials recently? With the dude announcer? i swear he sounds like Dan Green. Is it just me or are other people hearing it too???

Ah, and quickly I was hoping you, Kitsune, could help me with this:
If you wanted to say 'Moon of Darkness' in Japanese...
would it be 'Tsuki no Kurayami' or 'Kurayami no Tsuki' or something completly different? o.0 I can't remember if nouns go first or not... >.>
*Yeah, I know this has nothing to do with Yugiou, but... I just would like to know... >.>*

Ah, I hate argueing on facts that I know I'm right. XD;; Opinions are one thing, since you can't really *prove* you're right, but with actual facts... that you've done your research on... and the other person hasn't... grr... I remember once, this weird girl started stalking me because I dressed like Pegasus once on a school costume day, and she liked YUU*GI*OU. My friend Karma was asking the difference between the two Bakuras once (she doesn't really watch YUU*GI*OU but she has a mild interest) and the stalker girl decided, because she's MISS L33T I-KNOW-EVERYTHING-ABOUT-Yu-Gi-Oh! QUEEN, that she would interrupt me and explain the difference, when I had been the one asked to in the first place. Her description was almost accurate, accept that then she was all, "Call the bad one Ba-Kor-A (dub pronunciation) and the good one Rye-Yoo." I just kind of went silent thinking, "WTF...?" Then I said, "Well... they never actually refer to the good one as, ahem, "Ryou" (I am quite confident that my pronunciation was more accurate, what with studying Japanese for eight or so years and watching the Japanese version of the show when the announcers do say his full name) because that is his birth name, and he goes by his family name, so everyone calls both him and the bad one "Bakura." (once again, a more accurate pronunciation...) I also exlained that no one really differentiated between the two in the show since they shared a body, and said that I would just call them "Dark Bakura" and "Surface Bakura" if she wanted to be more accurate the the anime and manga. Of course, stalker girl stars argueing with me, saying, "No, you should pronounce it "Rye-Yoo!!!!1" and I'm just kind of like twitch...
And I really like Yuugi about the same in both series. The first one because he's just so friggin' adorable, and the second one because I like how he develops as a character and becomes more brave and stuff. X3
And I don't think I've ever seen those commercials... I don't watch much TV, and when I do I usually just fast-forward through the commercials because we have that Cox thingy-doo... But I wouldn't be surprised if Dan Green was whoring himself out to commericals; I mean, he's already done that Viva Pinata one. XD;;
And "Moon of Darkness" would be "Kurayami no Tsuki." Just think of the "no" as an " 's," so it's like "Darkness's Moon."

so thats how u pronunce his name

@Kitsune: Yay! Thank you so much. I was a bit confused. ^^
..*twitch* I already REALLY want to destroy that girl. Seeing as how... I HATE it when people say 'Bakora'... ... some people are stupid and spell it 'Bacorah'
...*flinches*
And do they say his name in the dub version? I mean Ryou?
And did she pronounce it as 'Rai' or 'Ri' *the sound in Japanese?* Cause I suck at figureing out english pronounciations since there are so many goddamn exceptions..

That's awesome that you dressed up like Pegasus. XD I'd do some starinjg if someone in my school dressed up as him. Just cause no one dresses up liek anime characters anymore... *sobs* Its so sad...

XD Whoring himself out to commercials. XD THat's great. I don't watch actual tv much myself... I heard it on the radio once, then I heard it while making a sandwich in the kitchen while my mom was watching something. I'm weird though. I like to watch commercials sometimes. They can be entertaining.

My favorite Yuugi... The smaller one that I could easily fit in my bag and carry around with me. If I get bored I'd just take him out, give him a little squeeze and listen to him squeak. It'd be so cute! =^^= And then I'd hug him and put him back in the bag. *nods*

Yes... luckily, that girl seems to have stopped following me, because I went to New York for a few days, so when none of my friends and I (my friends went as well) didn't show up in our usual place afterschool, she must've got upset or something thinking we ditched her. XD But she pronounced it "Rai-Yuu" if you go by Japanese vowel pronunciation. (I get confused with English stuff too; I was hoping I was right in saying "Rye" for "Rai." XD;; )
But anyway, they have never once said "Ryou" in any of the dub episodes I've seen. And whenever I see dub bios for him, they always just call him "Bakura" with no last name or anything. (however, I have only seen about half the dub episodes, so they might've said it in an episode I haven't seen) Anyway, for anyone curious on how to pronounce "Ryou," you can hear it here.
And now I wanna hear this commercial... I wonder if it's on YouTube...
And that Yuugi sounds so cute! X3

Well if you do figure out if it's Dan Green, please let me know. Then I can laugh without restraint.
I always see Yami no Yuugi when I hear Dan Green... even if it's something completely weird like Tsuzuki from Yami no Matsuei... or that giant demon beast of doom that possessed him. ...I think a lot of people do that, actually. I was so proud of Dan when Tsuzuki cursed! X3 Because in the uncut you can hear the guy cursing, but in the subtitles it says 'DARN!' and if you listen to it in English it's also.. "DARN!"
*sigh*

Oh yeah, I forgot that Dan Green played Tsuzuki. XD;; The only dub Yami no Matsuei I've ever seen was that one part where Hisoka told Tsuzuki that he could feel people's emotions and that Tsuzuki's were the most pained he had ever felt. The reason I watched it dubbed was because my friend told me that it was hilarious when Hisoka said, "Dun touch meh!!!!1" and it was. XD
Ah, but come now! "Damn" can hardly be considered a curse word. X3

@Kitsune:
On the subject of Yami no Matsuei... XD Liam... He's a great actor. 'Dun touch meh' was pretty funny, but I lost my composure when he stared at Tsuzuki, awestruck, and said "...You... just ate my dim sum..." *sp* XD
And then he eats something spicy and gets drunk on red wine. *honestly kids in Japan get drunk REAL easily in animes...*

There was the guy who does Jounuchi's voice in there as well if I recall. ...And I think I heard 'Misty' from the eng dub of poke'mon *the ACTUAL poke'mon where ASH is actually a character*
Do voice actors tend to stay with the same company or something?

Yeah, honestly. Damn really isn't a curse word. Otherwise you wouldn't hear the pastor say it in church. XD

Wah, sorry, I missed this post! XP
I think that was sake he drank... at least that's what it said in the manga. o.o So I wouldn't be surprised if he got drunk that easily. XD;; But I loved that part. Hisoka's so cute. <3 He got on my nerves when I had only seen the anime, but after reading the manga I feel for him a lot more. He's actually one of my favorite characters now. X3 (except in volumes 10 and 11... he was a little b***h in those!)
And I'm not sure, but that's pretty funny. XD

Yeah, I've got the anime and manga...
Pisses me off that the chick stopped the series at book 11.
And am I the only one who wondered exactly WHAT was going on at the end of book 11 with Hisoka's dad and that snake? I really couldn't figure it out...
I had ideas.. but they just seemed so wrong...
In the manga he drank sake... but in the anime it was red wine in a glass cup. Hisoka's just a typically spoiled, bitchy uke. But he has his moments where you just HAVE to luff him.

Apparently she's on hiatus... since 2003. ~_~;; She said she would continue in 2006 but... that didn't work out... it sounds like she has done a couple side stories though in Japan since hiatus (one about Tatsumi and one about Oriya and Ukyou (Muraki's past I'm assuming)), not to mention I read that the stories in the eleventh volume have been continued in the magazine that was the original publisher of Yami no Matsuei, just no graphic novels. *shrugs* But I think that snake owns the head Kurosaki's body because of the curse, so haunts them by... raping them. XD;; But let's look at it this way: Muraki let Hisoka get off easy by raping and killing him; instead of frequently being raped by a monster, he just got raped once by a hot doctor. XD
