Though she had liked the leopardess, she agreed whole-heartedly with Habu. At the time, she had tought perhaps there was some truth in what the adult had said. Later on, however, after thinking it through a bit, she had come to realize that most of the prejuidice was completely unjustified. It was a huge step for her to realize that, what with her naivity and all, but she was getting a bit more thoughtful as she aged.
A smirk played her maw. She was glad to hear he wasn't the violent type; it would be such a waste if he was. With that wonderful personality, it would be a bit sad if he threw everything in brute strength. Of course, that didn't fit his character, either. "Well, I'm glad for that. Fights can't get you anywhere." She spoke as if she had experiance in the matter, but she really didn't. Sure, a rogue's life was a bit rough and all, but no lion she had come across had been so cruel as to pick at a defenseless younster. At least, so far. "And I'm really not terribley strong at all. I can't even get myself up a darn tree." What Intombi wasn't aware of was the fact that lions simply weren't made to go up trees, and that it had nothing to do with her strength.

Wahabu nodded as Intombi agreed and said fighting can't get you anywhere. It was nice to have someone agree with him so much, fighting just caused problems in his opinion though he knew too often it was made use of. He shook his head, "I agree with you there."
His expression changed almost instantly when she mentioned climbing trees, grinning brightly. Climbing trees, while not something he enjoyed very much, was how he'd met his best friend.
"Tree climbing isn't very easy, though, I wouldn't put it all to strength," he replied, still smiling, "My friend is practically a monkey, but I don't know how he does it. I tried to climb trees with him, but it didn't work well. Just hurt my paws." Habu nodded matter-of-factly here, it was what had happened.

When she had been very young, Intombi had a best friend of sorts. It was ironic in that their first day together had been spent in a tree. It wasn't a very large tree, of course; it had been on the border of the Pridelands, with branches low enough that, if they had a running start, they could jump on and perch. She hadn't seen her yellow friend in a while, now. Hey! Habu was yellow! Maybe he was related to Noyana? It was a stretch, sure.... but they were in the same pride, after all, and they were both yellow. In Intombi's mind, that was enough to be related. What she didn't know was that the male got his coat from his mother. "Are you related to Noyana? She lives here... I haven't seen her in a while. Me and her climbed a tree once... but it wasn't a very big tree." She frowned a little. "How does your friend get up the trees? I always slip when I try..."

"Noyana?" Habu repeated after Intombi, trying to see if he even recognized the name. If he knew what she looked like, he night have understood why the connection was made but as far as he knew he wasn't related to anyone by that name. "Don't think so, I know most of my family that's around here." He nodded matter-of-factly, quite sure of himself on that. His mother had no family around here, and then his grandmother just had cubs, and his father and him..
"He just.. climbs," he replied, lifting up his paws with extended claws and looking down at them in mild confusion. It was not impossible to do, but lions were certainly not as well equipped as leopards for such tasks. Habu looked back from his paws to Intombi, "Depending on how I'm trying to climb, I usually don't make it far either."

"Hm." Intombi simply shrugged her shoulders. Well, if Noyana was still in the Pridelands, she was bound to run into her again sometime. Especially when she moved in for good. Since she hadn't seen the other in a good while, though, she wasn't at all concerned about it. They had sort of drifted apart, as it seemed the juve did with pretty much every tie she had. Maybe it was just that rogue blood in her, to be a drifter. Yet, she yearned for a life that was more stable in the Pridelands. That was a bit confusing, actually. She wanted to have the freedom to move around and have some breathing space, yet she also wanted the stability of a grounded life. Was it even possible to get both in one place?
Not wanting to think of such large, phylisophical topics while she was attempting to relax, the brown lioness sighed contently and focused on trees once more. "I've sort of give up, to be honest. I just think I'm meant to stay on the ground." She had such a serious look in her eyes it was almost amusing.

"Sorry," he apologized when she didn't really react to him saying he wasn't related to a friend of hers. Habu might have seen her around before, since there were a lot of lions around the Pridelands and he didn't necessarily officially meet all of them. He glanced to the tree as she admitted to giving up, offering a shrug and nod. Really, so had he. He looked back down at her.
"Honestly, me too," Habu agreed with a nod, smiling and trying to lighten the mood a bit. She looked far too serious, in his opinion, "Not everyone can climb, not everyone can fly. I'm happy on the ground."

"Oh, you're totally fine." She smiled pleasantly and nodded to confirm it. She really wasn't distraught by the loss of a friend. It was just the way things had turned out this time around. She was sure that when she moved into the pride, she'd get many more friends. Or at least, aquaintances she could chat with when bored.
Her serious looked faltered very quickly to a relaxed and warm one once again. "I think I'm happy on the ground, too. Besides, if you're in a tree, you can't get very far, right?" She chuckled a little. The trees were so far apart in most places, it'd be near impossible to go from limb to limb. In the Jungle, it was almost easy, but out here... It was a completely different world. Intombi had never been away from the savannah, however. She only knew of the Jungle because that leopardess had told her a bit about it while she was pulling a zebra carcass up a tree. It sounded nice and all, but not some place she would like to live. Supposedly, it was damp. Not only would that keep her in a perpetual bad hair day, but it would also mean she'd be wet... a lot. The young lioness harbored a slight fear of water, and being wet all the time would more than likely fire a few nerves.

Habu returned the smile. It was quite true that you'd almost never feel entirely alone in the Pridelands, despite the fact he couldn't find the old friends when he wanted to, he had certainly made many new friends while he looked.
"You can... get back to the ground some quick if you aren't careful," he pointed out with a slight grin. It was pretty much the story of his early attempts to scale trees, but luckily he'd never gotten far enough up to get hurt when falling. He'd seen a bit of a jungle once, and knew that it might be different there. But trees were more spread out in the Savannah, so it was up and down the tree, and that was it.

The young lioness snorted and then started laughing loudly. She wasn't sure what had gotten her so riled up about the joke, but it had just sounded so funny. The way he had said it so calmly, maybe. It was just hilarious. After the laughing slowly came to an end, she sighed happily and closed her eyes. "That's true. I think I'll just stay down here. Lions weren't meant to fly." She grinned. Little did she know that there were lions who could fly. Intombi hadn't a clue that gods existed, nor that they had wings. She'd never been told about them before, and she'd never come across one on her playdays through the savannah. They'd never even come in conversation before. She smirked to herself a little, getting a mental image of a bird with a lion's head. Would it have feathers on its body? Naah, fur was the probable thing. If bird-lions were anywhere near probable, that is.

Habu grinned as his little joke was well received, much more apt to take being laughed with and at better than something like anything physical- though he wasn't entirely opposed to play fighting, it was just something he'd nearly outgrown.
"Well, not all lions anyway," he said mysteriously with a shrug. Habu was well aware of the fact that not everyone knew about the gods, his mother had told him that. It was why she'd been pretending to be a mortal, so she wouldn't hurt any of the prides' beliefs. Even before he'd met a god, he'd had dreams about them. He knew now that it had been visions of his mother's past, but at the time he'd figured he had a strange imagination.

The young lioness raised a brow at his remark. Not all lions? That didn't make any sense at all. There were no big cats with wings walking around, and animals couldn't fly unless they had wings... so how could some lions be made to fly? Perhaps it had been a joke, but her naivaty didn't allow her to take that as the answer. "What do you mean...?" She pulled up onto her stomach as she asked it, paying close attention to the male. Either she was about to be laughed at or she was about to learn something that defied logic. At least, the logic she had built after her short time on the earth.

Habu could see the effect his comment had almost immediately, and it was clear that Intombi didn't know about gods. Or, at least she did not realize that they were real. He nodded matter-of-factly, and decided to answer vaguely and see if she had any previous knowledge on the subject.
"Gods, of course," he smiled.

Simpley the word 'gods' was completely foriegn to the lioness, much less the concept. She'd never been told about them by her mother, she'd never met one, and this was the first time it had come up in conversation. Flying lions was far too interesting a topic to let drop, though. She stared intently at Habu, her tail flicking quickly, her ears swiveling forward to hear everything he would say. "Whats are those? Are they like leopards or cheetahs or something? Can they fly?" Her eyes grew wide and child like with wonder and she scooted a bit closer to the other lion. She looked an awful lot like a cub listening to an old nanny tell stories just before bed time, but she didn't care one bit.

Wahabu looked genuinely surprised to hear that she didn't know anything about gods at all, not even heard mention of such creatures or special beliefs. As a cub, Habu had met the god of lonliness, befriended the god of reflection and as a juvenile even discovered that his own mother was the goddess of souls. Even before that, he'd had dreams about gods. His life had never been entirely without some knowledge or presense of gods, and it was hard to imagine no tales ever reached Intombi. Of course, he had to take into account that she was a rogue, and not everyone led the same life.
"They're winged lions," he said simply, "They help mortals, rule over certain things, have special powers.."

Intombi nodded her understanding, thinking the whole thing over. Her view on life had just been nearly turned upside down, and such things usually take a few moments to settle in. So there were lions that had wings, and could fly, and had special powers? What sort of powers? She wanted so badly to question Habu more, but almost felt a little bad about it. To him, it seemed that it was an every day fact. Being grilled about every day facts was probablly annoying. Instead, she stared at the pink markings on her paws, trying to concentrate on them while she thought.
"Soo... what powers?" She couldn't help it. Curiosity got the best of her. While she sad it, she made eye contact sheepishly, trying to catch any flicker of annoyance that might show.
