"Dammit! I really wasn't expecting that!" said Akuri; angry. She grabbed a nearby branch that was about 3 feet tall. She lit the tip on fire with a prod from her mind. It began to blaze, and she hit the mutant over it's head with the firey stick.

((The mutants can be anything, really. Bears, birds, monkeys, wolves, etc. We usually fight wolves, though... in masses. They've somehow become the common mutant, heh. ))
In a quick moment, Blank was taken aside by the girl he was talking to as a large animal rushed past. As the creature prepared to attack again, he cursed his carelessess, as well as their luck for running into mutants before reaching the forest. Regaining his composure, he took out the two finely crafted scimitars that were strapped to his back and prepared for battle. He was spared the trouble, however, because someone else had brought the monster down. The newcomer seemed to be wrestling with the beast, and Blank realized it had the traits of a mutated wolf. When the girl next to him tried to help by striking the animal with an enflamed stick, the monster yelped and backed away a little while shaking his head.
Now that it was on it's own, Blank could see it's unusual size and large fangs. It snapped at the embers now on its body and growled ferociously. It's mouth dripped with saliva and around it's neck one could slightly see a collar buried beneath its greenish fur. Afraid he would recover and attack again, Blank quickly rose a scimitar and brought it down upon the beast's neck, severing the spine and destroying the collar. With a howl the large wolf fell to the ground, its tainted blood staining the grass.
Turning to the ones around him, Blank said, "There will be others. Wolves usually travel in packs, and the mutant's howl will surely draw his pack here."

Ryuk stood looking at the mutant, it was gone now as fast as he had gotten down there. He looked around his eyes spotting another monster, he pointed without speaking. The other girl Phit was getting attacked by another. He grabbed his dagger and took off in the females direction hoping to get there in time.

"Dammit." muttered Akuri. Hmmm...apparently, hitting it with a blazing stick won't work. I didn't want to have to use my Katana, but I guess I will... she thought. She drew her Katana and rushed it. It had been watching Blank, and hadn't been expecting her attack. She sliced, and gave it a pretty good wound on it's side. The wolf-thing howled in pain and turned to her, snarling. It lashed out with it's claw, and she got quite a large gash on her arm. Dammit dammit dammit dammit to hell! she thought.

Now, after getting over her shock, Phit pulled out a revolver and pointed it in the direction of the beast. Just as she fired, someone came and lunged at the animal. It didn't hit, thank god, but it missed the beast as well. She aimed again, and that's when the monster attacked. He clawed at her chest, knocking her back. His claws went about 3 inches into her flesh, but as she sat up there was no blood. She had felt that strange sensation were the claws should have met her skin, her molecules had vibrated swiftly enough to keep her from harm. She got back up and pointed the revolver again. This time she hit her target, the forhead of this insane mutant.

((Umm, themasterofpastandpresent - I meant for my last post to kill the mutant we were fighting with. So, technically, he couldn't have clawed at you, but if you would like to retain the damages and pretend it happened before I killed it, that's okay too. o_O''
On another note - Is it okay if I call everyone by their character's name when OOC? Or if you could give me something to call you by, that would be great too. You guys can just call me Blank, if you'd like.))
Blank watched as the young man who had joined them for the battle ran off to help the other girl from earlier. As he took off, Blank followed behind, but stopped before he had reached the two. Staring at the edge of the forest, his eyes narrowed a little as he felt the ground tremor ever so slightly. The girl with red hair shot her revolver a couple of times at the monster attacking her as nearby birds in the forest flew up into the sky. Focusing his attention to the forest, Blank could now hear the soft padding of feet hitting the ground mixed with snarls and even howls now and then. It was the pack.
Blank knew that Seriph would be all right on his own, but what of the others? Wolves weren't exactly the hardest things to take down, but together in large numbers they could be a hassle. He would have to watch out and hope that his new acquaintences could hold their ground.

Ryuk looked towards the sounds, 'That can't be good.' He watched as the mutants soon made themselves visable. There were at least ten of these snarling beasts, it would take more that what they had already done to take them out. A small smirk creased his lips, 'This shall be fun.' He hadn't battle these annoyances in awhile and from the looks of it, it was going to be a very workout.
Ryuk glanced at the man next to him and the lady, only wondering if they would be able to protect themselves against this many. If not then this would be more then what he had barggened for and probably would have been smarter if he stayed in the trees. But that was far to far in the future to decide now. His attention turned back to the pack and got in some kind of ready position, his dagger still in hand, '3.....2......1'

((we're in a battle hu? sorry i haven't posted, this week friday i graduate, this week thursday i turn 18 and this week saturday i have my party so i will be busy and unable to get on consistantly for a while. sorry))
Seriph sprung immediatly into action. The forest wasn't to far away and he fought better in trees. "Jania, get to the forest and cover Blank!" he yelled as he took off. His sword was drawn and ready to strike out at a moments notice.
Jania didn't react quite as fast but she was soon spirinting for the woods as well. Seriph was directly in front of her and she could start to see the silloutte of the main pack coming out of the forest. She drew out her bow and strung an arrow to it. Aiming carefully while sprinting, she fired off an arrow which flew through the air. It struck it's mark perfectly. . . .in the eye, which dropped the mutant instantly.

Phit looked down at her wounds. They weren't there at all. Her clouths were toen, but the skin had not a scratch on it. Her attention was tore from her should-have wounds, and to the pack of mutant wolves comeing towards them quickly. She checked the chamber of her revolver and filled up the empty slots. She bracded herself and hoped she could at least hold her owne against these creatures. She had only killed one befor, and it was about 5 moments ago.

(( Okay. The name this mostly applied to you, Akuri. It's seems awkward to me to refer to you when your username is uber long, hehe. whee Plus, with nicknames, I feel less formal, and therefore feel like I know you all more. biggrin ))
As the hoard of mutants drew near, Blank readied himself by focusing on his enemy and the location of the people around him. He would need to keep his eye on both for this battle, as with any battle, to turn out victorious. Not to waste any more time, he charged forward with his scimitars held in front of his body to strike.
Blank ran through the grass, not stopping until he reached the bulk of the monsters. As he whipped through, some mutants attempted to attack but before their jaws could even come close, Blank saw an arrow whiz past and hit the mutant in the eye. Quickly looking back he saw Jania and Seriph running behind him. He grinned thinking about how good Jania's aim had gotten and raised his arm to acknowledge his thanks.
Taking his raised arm, Blank brought in down upon a wolf that attempted to pass him, and with his other he slashed sideways into the belly of another. Jumping up, he managed to get his feet to land on the backs of two more before jumping again backwards and slicing off their heads before he landed. He continued work through the group, keeping his arms in constant motion, causing a barrier to be formed around him by his swords. His progress was fine what with his friends watching his back, but every now and then a mutant landed a hit. Nevertheless he continued to fight. A little scratch every now and then wasn't going to stop him.

Jania and Seriph reached the trees as the a few of the mutants, namely the ones that hadn't been killed by Blank, got there. Seriph and Jania paused for just a moment and Seriph lowered the hand that wasn't holding his sword closer to the ground. Without thinking Jania took a small leap and landed on the hand with one foot. Seriph used all the strength he had in that arm to throw Jania up to a branch and out of danger.
Then he turned and slashed through a wolf just as it was about to take a bite from him. Seriph saw three more coming and prepared to face them, when two fell from arrows above. The third started to panic and Seriph brought his sword right through it.
Jania lept up into the tree and turned around quickly to see that her brother wouldn't get eaten because of his concern. She saw him quickly turn around and kill one beast. Then saw three more coming for him. Jania fired off two more arrows in quick succession. Killing two of the three mutants. Satsified that Seriph would be alright, she turned her attention to Blank and started firing off arrow after arrow against anything that was behind him.

Raiseing the revolver, Phit took a deep breath. There were a few mutants that seemed smarter then the rest. Instead of charging ful on, they semed to be attempting to sneak up on the three that, now in the woods, were fight the just of the pack. She picked them off one by one.
That's when she noticed movement in the grass off to her right. She turned just in time to see one monster lungeing at her. She aimed, and fired.

Ryuk followed after the man making sure his sword was at a ready, he stopped only feet from a mutant wolf too stupid to realize what Ryuk was doing and ran right into the point. He smirked as the body fell to the ground and moved on. His movements swift and precise.
At one point in time he had dealt with a total of three, attacking from multiple sides, his blade moving only so fast. He held back his scream as a claw ripped through his shirt and scraped his back, letting the warm blood ooze down. He turned quickly jumping and tossing down a throwing dagger at a very weak point. Once he landed he stumbled a little and got his feet.
The other two seemed to find his weakness quickly, one coming at his front and the other going to the back. It was that hard, but Ryuk threw off the one at his front and took to his back in time to see the wolfs mouth agape and the sword enter seconds after. It screeched in pain and fell to the floor like a rag doll.
Ryuk then turned to see the other slowly stand and make it's way back to attacking the man that had so easily defeated the other two. This one taking a little more time then the other, Ryuk had decided to let his blade lay on the ground as he wrestled the being bare handed. He pinned the thing quickly to the ground, it made harsh jolts trying to escape the grasp of Ryuk's hold. Putting his whole body weight against the creature he grabbed the mouth, yanking it hard. It took a few moments before the bottom jaw made a pop sound and then a whimper sounded soon after.

Akuri looked around; confused. She wanted to help, but she had no idea who to help. "Gaah!" she randomly said, still very much confused.
