Laqueta raised her head a little when she heard him finally approach, and greeted him with a purr of her own which became louder when he settled down next to her...oh how she wanted this all the time! To be able to be with him all the time, sleep next to him, spend the rest of her life with him and be free from her father's pride and have her loyalty to him and him alone. That would be heaven.

Twisting her head around she gave his nose a lick in greeting before settling back down and running her paw in the water once more in thought. It was a few moments before she answered, but unlike when the incident that'd brought them together, she'd learned to be completely honest when he asked. It's not like he couldn't sense her lying anyways or her worry that would still be there. Sighing a bit in worry, more that she was adding too much to his shoulders than anything else, she said what was on her mind and in her heart. "Maybe I'm just being selfish and maybe this isn't the greatest time to say this, but I want to know where we're going, hun...I want to be with you more than anything else, and leave my father's pride, though I know he will not make it easy at all. I know you have alot on your mind, and I swear I'm doing my best to be patient, but...I just don't know what's going on right now, and what your plans are..." Her voice trailed off at that moment, unable to go on. She was thinking back to when he'd been dead set on one path and one alone in his future, and had spent so much time scared she'd lose him, but knew they still had time left to spend together and so she always pushed it to the back of her mind. However...they were now both adults, and she could no longer fool herself into thinking they had lots of time left if what she feared most was to happen. Perhaps that's why she was so drawn to this spot...it was the same one she'd nearly lost him and she feared that happening again.

Regius chuckled. "So that's what's been bothering you." He had been really afraid for a moment that she had come here to gather the courage to do what she should have done when they were teens... leave him. He was so full of a giddy relief that he started to laugh. As much as he hated to admit it, he was always afraid she would come to her senses and leave him. Go back to her fathers pride and be happy with some other lion not hellbent on revenge.

Not that you are anymore, are you?
Shuddup

That voice was getting more and more annoying, pointing out facts that he couldn't lie to himself about, pointing out the lies and the half-truths that governed his life. Unfortunatly, it was a very hard to ignore it, like he would have ignored anyone trying to talk to him about it.

He smiled indulgently at her before he remembered that she was seriously worried about this and the smile slipped from his face. "I'm sorry..." He murmured, ducking his head. "I've been wrapped up in myself I didn't stop to think about what you wanted." He ducked his head, letting his indigo mane fall in front of his eyes and sighed. He laughed slightly. "You don't have to worry... I do know where we are going... If you want out of your father's pride... Let's go tell him so!"

Laqueta smiled as he laughed in relief, for she wasn't blind to the fact he was always afraid of her leaving him for someone else, but said nothing as she watched his reaction to it all. She nuzzled his cheek when he apologized to tell him she understood (as much as one in her position can) and held nothing against him regarding it. She couldn't help but grin widely, though, when he gave his decision to finally release her from her father's rule.

Sitting up, she took a deep breath before spitting out her warning. "Father won't make it easy on you...we can't just walk in and say goodbye. You will have to fight him." She looked into his eyes, searching for the truth, if he'd be ready, not just willing but ready, to do such a thing for her. She no longer was sure how ready he was to fight his own father, much less hers, even if the situations were different. "If you feel it best to wait, then I will wait. For as long as I must I will." She was of course refering to the fact that he felt it best to wait until he'd finally done what he'd promised himself he'd do so long ago, then wait she would. Her heart was his, given long ago, and abide by his decision she would.

Regius smiled and let out a low, playful growl. He didn't know why, but he was in a better mood then he had been in for a long, long time. He had a few ideas, and most of then had to do with the lady in front of him. He couldn't help but let his smile widen as he looked at her. That she was willing to wait for however loog he desided to take was... He couldn't really think of a word to describe the feeling rising in him. It didn't even bother him that he was going to have to fight an older, more experienced lion who could see. It's what Laqueta had been training him for... just not for her father, for his.

So you still think you're going to fight him?
I told you to shut up. He thought back at his inner voice, fighting hard not to roll his eyes.

"Well, I won't make it easy on him either." He nuzzled her gently, letting the smile slip off his face to sow that he did indeed take this seriously. "Anyone who tries to keep you from me will find a fight on their paws. I won't give you up. No matter what." He smiled again. He couldn't help it. "Want to review anyway, before we set out to your old pride?"

Laqueta mentally flailed and screamed as she waited for his answer, hoping and praying he'd not make her wait, even if she was willing to do as he decided. She loved him with a passion and longed to show him just how much she cared, and wanted to prove to him she'd never leave his side...to finally get rid of all of his doubts regarding her loyalty to him, and the fact that he held her heart in his paw. Would he cherish it? Or would he toss it away for the time being?

She actually whooped with joy when he finally spoke his decision, and glomped on him licking and nuzzling him all over. She couldn't imagine being any happier at than she was at that particular moment in time, her deep purr loud and rumbling in her chest. It took her a moment, however, to realize he'd asked her a question and then another moment to even remember what it had been. Her grin spreading, she purred, "And how would you like to...'practice', my love?" She left that word wide open to let him know anyway he wanted to warm up was fine by her.
