Lindira Matiko-san German's much harder, because of differences in sentence structure, grammar, and spelling xd But English is a Germanic language. It should be pretty close to English. Actually, English is a hybrid between Romance and Germanic languages. Where you'd expect commonality, there's differences, and where you expect differences, there are commonalities. Often times, what's 1 word in english, is a sentence in German, or vice versa.

Which is why English isn't included in the Romance languages. Old English sounds a lot like German. 3nodding ...Okay, let's stop now. sweatdrop

Is Lord Spyderguy a member? Because I don't see him in the guild members list.

I didn't invite him, but I'm ok with the former "Data Lore" if he behaves.

Well, at 11:42am I accepted Lord Spyderguy.
Lindira: Can you ask all mods to document who they add, that way we know who's responsible if someone not so good joins?

Matiko-san Well, at 11:42am I accepted Lord Spyderguy. Lindira: Can you ask all mods to document who they add, that way we know who's responsible if someone not so good joins? It doesn't really matter who's responsible if someone not so good joins. Unless the mod knew that the person was bad and invited him/her anyway, which is very unlikely to happen. It's okay. You can't really tell a lot about a person from the requests. If there's trouble, give them a warning. If there's more trouble, give them another warning. If they still don't behave, we ban their a**. Does everybody think that a 3-Strikes rule is fair?

If they still don't behave, we ban their a**. Does everybody think that a 3-Strikes rule is fair? Sure, but I'd like to make it clear when someone is getting First Strike, Second Strike, Third Strike. I'd like to just warn people first, and let them know something should be dropped immediately or risk penalty. (Then if they continue, they have no excuse.) Obviously, that applies to REASONABLE issues, like the disagreements over what is and isn't a trivia question. If someone does something intentially offensive or egregious, I can see issuing a First Strike immediately with a warning, like, say, spamming all the threads at the same time or something. I can also see extreme cases warranting an immediate ban. That would be for things violating the Gaia Terms of Service, or cyberstalking members, say, or posting irrelevant and blatantly offensive topics or threads. I think all of that goes without saying, but I feel it SHOULD be said to avoid anyone feeling surprised later when an exception is made for blatantly offensive behaviour. "I thought you were just going to penalize me if I posted offensive material to anger the guild!"

November 21st, 2004 @ 12:03pm Eastern - I accepted todpury into the guild. His request was rather long, and I got the impression that he really wanted to join the guild and enjoy discussing Star Trek at length.
